Dear Revdex.com,
As soon as we became aware of this customers concern with
their pool water quality we have been talking to and emailing them
We are the only ones that offer a unique approach to
hibernating a swimming pool for a short or long term periods. In order to successfully hibernate
the pool
the customers pool chemicals have to be in proper balance which their pool
should be anyway
We tell the customer verbally during the sales presentation
that the chemicals have to be balanced. It
is also discussed on our websiteAfter the installation we have the customer
sign a Completion Statement that says that they will read the owner's manual
where there are two pages that discuss the need to balance pool chemicals and
the importance of proper balancing to hibernate the pool.
We do a chemical test of their pool water on the day of the
installation and either email or mail them the results of their water quality
tests. The only thing we could do more
than we do now is to become a pool service company and provide them with the
solution to balance their chemicals.
Becoming a pool service company is not in our interest and there are
plenty of resources such as Leslie's pool stores (which the customer uses) or
pool service companies which the customer has used that offer services to
balance pool chemicals.
The customer readily admits in the complaint that he was
aware that the pool water was supposed to be in balanceAfter the customer
received the owner's manual and water chemistry letter they had their water
tested at least three different times from *** pool store. On the phone this past week the customer
shared the pool chemistry numbers with me and in all three cases the water
chemistry was not in balance.
I called the manager at the *** store that the customer
gets his chemicals tested because the test results differ from what the pool
looks like. The manager remembered the
customer and readily admitted that he made a mistake on the last test report
and that the cynauric acid test was higher than what was reported on the test
report. Without proper cynauric acid
chlorine cannot do its job. The bottom
line is, the pool water has never been in balance since the cover was installed
which is the customers responsibility.
Pool covers help to maintain chemicals for long periods of time since no
more dirt, debris or sunlight gets into the pool. As good as our pool cover is it will not take
unbalanced water and make it better.
We have successfully hibernated hundreds of pools in
Arizona. The handful of people that have
had issues just like this customer all had improperly balanced pool water. Most of the time the people are embarrassed
or do not quite understand what they need to do to balance their chemicals and
appreciate the help that we give them.
People have to be accountable for following all the directions we have
offered them. This customer has not followed
all the directions
We sent the customer a lengthy email explaining all this to
them so we can have everything in writing so that there are no
misunderstandingsAs a conciliatory gesture to an unhappy customer we offered
to clean and condition their pool cover which is a $value for free. They had previously paid for that service so they
understand the value.
As of this response to the Revdex.com complaint we have not heard
back from the customer since our last emailWe do not believe that this complaint should
be held against us since we did everything we could to educate the customer on
the need to balance their chemicals

QUOTES from SOLAR SAFE Literature---- "You can turn off your pool pump for months at a time or even FOREVER if you want"  "No sunlight means no algae growth" "Impossible to have a "green" pool"When we removed the cover from our pool after eight months,  we found a green, smelly mess. There were inches of algae on the sides of the pool and even more in the bottom.  Billowing clouds of algae in the bright green water requiring extensive clean up.  We contacted Tom B[redacted] about the condition of the pool and the claims on his brochure. He admitted on the telephone that the literature was misleading and that he would probably have to change the brochure. He admitted to us the false claims in his brochure.  Mr. B[redacted] discussion of water hardness, etc. are not to the point of the false claims on his product performance. Mr. B[redacted] discussion of the water hardness came after [redacted] [redacted]

It appears that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] are going to continue to
say the same thing over and over again and not offer anything new.  They are totally incorrect when they suggest
that we did not discuss the need to balance their chemicals before they
purchased or installed the cover.  To summarize
what I have said before; the statement that we said in our literature is correct,
if they followed our
instructions.  They were informed before they bought the cover that the
water chemistry needed to be balanced.
They admitted in their original
complaint that they were aware of the need to balance the chemicals.  We had them sign a Completion Statement on the day of the installation that said that they
would read the owner’s manual which clearly addresses the need to balance the
chemicals if they care what the water looks like when they are finished
hibernating their pool.   Some people
care about the water quality and balance their chemicals and other people do
not and deal with their pool when they are ready to sell their home.  That is the customer’s choice and either way
they decide to go the cover reduces their cost of pool maintenance while the
cover is in use.  We also provided them with a water chemistry analysis of their
pool water taken on the day of the cover
installation that showed the need to balance their chemicals because they had
very high cyanuric acid and hardness.  High
cyanuric acid will not allow chlorine to effectively kill algae spores in the water.  Those two items can only be lowered by draining
water from their pool which they said that they never did. If the [redacted] believe we did something wrong then all they
have to do is provide all three of their water tests that they had done after
the cover installation and we will see if the pool was ever in balance.  Unfortunately, they do not want to provide
the water tests because that would show that the pool was never in balance and they
would  finally have to accept responsibility
for the algae in the pool because they never got the chemicals balanced.

We purchased a solar safe pool cover as we have a 1 year old and were looking for a safety measure for our new house. We looked at traditional fences, safety nets and covers and we decided on the solar safe cover. Our pool is odd-shaped and has about a dozen large rocks along the decking and a rock water feature. The guys that do the cutting and sewing of the cover are artists. The cover fits excellently over, around and through the rock formations. In addition to the safety feature, it also keeps all the debris out of the pool which is great during monsoon season. We were also losing a ton of water during the summer months and burning through chemicals and the cover put a halt to both. We are very happy with our cover and have recommended to several other friends with young children that they look into Solar Safe.

Thanks!

Solar Safe Pool Covers did an amazing job from start to finish. Their estimator, Jeff, came out and explained their products and the process. He discussed the benefits we would receive using the pool cover. He took a quick measurement and left us with a quote, letting us know to call if we had any additional questions or to schedule the installation.

The next day we called to schedule our installation and they were able to accommodate that about 2 weeks later. On the day of the install the crew, 2 guys, arrived with their tools and a durable sewing machine. They constructed the cover throughout most of the day and had it installed. They demonstrated how to remove and install the cover before leaving and left us with a handy hand tool, drill, and surface pump to maintain the cover.

About a week later we noticed that one of the corners didn't lay flat and I contacted their office. They were able to stop over the same day and tighten the corner up to allow it to lay flatter on the surface. They did this with no charge and said if we had any other issues to give them a call.

We used the cover all summer and it made a huge difference overall. My algae levels are at an all time low due to blocking the sun. My electric bill also went way down because I was able to lower the amount of time our pump runs every day and the pool is just cleaner because there is less debris able to get into the pool. Overall we are extremely happy with the purchase and would recommend them to others.

I have been working with this team on several projects over the past couple of years. I have never met a team more engaged in their quality of work, customer service and attention to detail. Always going the extra mile. It is refreshing to find this type of integrity within a company. The best of the best and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for their product and services!

As a new pool owner. pet owner and at a location immediate to undeveloped land, the need for a well fitting, custom designed pool cover was a important element in my quest for a supplier. Solar Safe was able to meet all my expectations in a timely manner. I have noted an improvement in the water quality, less pollutants in the filter elements was my first sign. It has lessened my personal attention to debris which often blew in from the surrounding desert. I am very satisfied with my purchase from Solar Safe and do suggest consideration for other interested parties.

We have a vacation home with a pool in the greater Phoenix area. Since we are snowbirds leaving the pool unattended through the hot Arizona summers caused us stress and expense. Our neighbor keeps a pretty close eye on things but it's not like us being right there. We wanted a way to close up the pool for the summer without having to worry about where the water chemistry was going or the safety of the backyard should someone get in uninvited. We came across the Solar Safe Pool Cover ads and their claims about being able to hibernate the pool through the summer. Needless to say we were a little skeptical but we thought we would listen to what they had to say. Jeff came out and spent a couple of hours with us, answering our questions, measuring our pool and giving us a price. There was no high pressure sales tactics, he just answered our questions, showed us some samples and was great to talk to.

We ended up having the cover installed in mid-June when it was scorching hot. The install team did a nice neat job and left the yard neat and tidy. The pool cover looks great and we are very happy with how it turned out. Putting it on and taking it off is easy although it might be a little heavy if my wife tried to do it by herself but we haven't had a lot of practice taking it off.

We closed up the pool in late June and the cover has been on the pool for almost 4 months now. In that time there has been no chemicals added to the pool and the pump has run for only a couple of hours per week just to move the water around. I don't think we needed to do this. The water is clear and looks good so the cover is doing exactly what we hoped and what Solar Safe said it would.

Solar Safe provides a high quality product that does work as claimed. We've cut our water bills in the summer by virtually eliminating evaporation, eliminated our chemical use in the summer and cut way back on power use for the pump. The folks at Solar Safe are great people to deal with and are there if you have a question or concern. I would not hesitate to recommend Solar Safe.

I am very satisfied with my pool cover. They actually do make it on site to custom fit the pool. It fits perfectly. My chemical usage is dramatically lower this summer and pool maintenance has been minimal. I highly recommend this product.

I am very happy with the pool cover we purchased from this company. Everyone from the company we interacted with were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The pool cover works as advertised and protects the pool and hibernates it. I am very pleased with the results - since no one uses the pool, this was the best way to hibernate the pool and save all the effort of maintaining it. I have no hesitation in recommending this company for anyone who wants to hibernate the pool.

Solar Safe installed my pool cover about 3 years ago. I have a very complex pool design that includes 2 three foot tall (arc shaped) raised beams, and the pool outline itself is a Grecian shape. I searched for a long time to find a company that could provide me a safety cover, to no avail. I was lucky enough to stumble across Solar Safe at a local home show and spoke to Tom about my complex requirements. He assured me that they could fabricate a durable, strong, attractive cover at a reasonable price. He was good to his word.

They arrived in the morning (with a commercial sewing machine mounted to a table) and within a few hours the cover was complete. They took the time needed to instruct us in how to install and remove the cover, and also the care and maintenance of the cover.

After 3 years the cover is still like new, you need to ensure you perform the vinyl cleaning and conditioning (especially in this Arizona sun). I give the sales experience, installation, and product an A+....... highly recommend it.

Excellent presentation that answered all my questions even before I asked them. The salesman was very personable and professional. Talking about the return on investment was very important because we were looking at other options for our pool, that had no return. The installers were punctual, worked quickly, and explained all aspects of the cover, including how to remove and re-install. Everything I was told about the use of a cover has come true. We are very pleased.

I would and have recommended them they did an wonderfully job my pool is still clean after having it on for a while, I was also able to save on chemicals.

Wanting to take some of the work out of owning a pool, called Solar Safe Pool Covers for an estimate. We had seen their add in our newspaper. We were very happy with the quick response to our request. Even though it was a little more than we had budgeted we were so impressed with the product that we purchased it anyway and we couldn't be happier. The service was superior, the crew was extremely efficient and most of all we LOVE THE COVER! We highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a great pool cover that lives up to the information provided in their advertisement. It is certainly worth the price.

Solar Safe Pool Covers came out measured and installed the pool cover for us. They showed up on time and did the installaton as promised. The cover looks better than the two precious covers we had installed. People were nice and professional and did the work very effeciently. I would recommend to any one who needs a pool cover.

We bought the Solar Safe Pool cover and had it installed last spring. We were told we were even going to be able to close our pool up for an amount of time and it would keep anything from growing as long as we closed the pool with the chemicals in balance. We decided to do just that as we traveled to see friends and relatives all summer. We came home and uncovered our pool and it was full of algae. Our son lives in the area and had been replenishing the chlorine during the summer and we had taken a water sample to the pool store and gotten it in balance before we left. When we contacted "Solar Safe Pool Covers" upon our return and finding this mess of a pool, we were told it was "our fault" because we didn't follow the directions of having the water in balance. We are very disappointed in this company and the way they handled our complaint...they were very quick to assume we didn't check the water before we closed the pool up and offered no other reasons why this happened and didn't offer to check if there were problems with the cover itself. Our son pumped the rain water off the top several times and the pump they included was so cheap that he went out and bought us one that would really work. Very expensive cover with very poor results. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We had our Solar Safe Pool Cover installed September 29, 2015. The crew that installed our cover was awesome! The cover was customized for our pool!! We love our cover sure helps keep out a lot of debris and dirt!! Would highly recommend anyone wanting to have a safe cover and a cleaner pool!!!
