Solar Safe Pool Covers

I just bought my first home and it has a pool. I have a four year old son and was concerned about his safety so I wanted to protect him from the pool before we moved in. I assumed I was going to get a pool fence to isolate the pool from the house since that seems to be what most people do. I recently saw on the news the drowning of a five year old that pushed a chair up against the fence and climbed over the fence and drowned.

I was very dismayed and upset since I now knew I did not want a pool fence. I was starting to regret buying a house with a pool. I did not want to make the decision of my life by losing my son in our pool.

I contacted the company and they sent out a very knowledgeable estimator named Jeff. He showed me lots of pictures of covers that they did that looked similar to my pool. I gave them a deposit for the cover that day and they called the next day to set up an install date. We were moving in to the house in less than two weeks. They were able to accommodate my house closing schedule and they installed the cover the day we took possession of the house.

The installers were amazing. Watching them custom cut my cover and sew it to fit was impressive. They did a great walk through when they were finished and explained how to put on and remove the cover.

I have had my cover for over a month now and love the fact that my son can play in the backyard and has no access to the pool water. In addition to the safety aspects of the cover we have been in the pool swimming in late March because of the solar heating benefits of the cover and we decided we did not need to keep the pool service company that we hired since there was really nothing for him to do when he showed up. The water was clean and the chemicals stayed balanced.

I love my Solar Safe pool cover! I got one put on for safety reasons in 2005 so my child would be safe. When I realized all the benefits of the cover, I decided to get another one when that one wore out. Even though my child was old enough and we didn't need a cover anymore, I had to get one because they are amazing! I have had pools without the cover and they can be so time consuming. I no longer have to spend hours skimming the pool and I only have to use a very small amount of chlorine tabs. One year I accidentally went over 2 months and didn't run the pool and I was worried the water would be weird, but when I opened the cover the water was crystal clear blue!! In the summer I run the pool for only 2 hours a day and if I skip a day or two it is no big deal and I only use 3 chlorine tabs every 3 weeks, I am amazed at my cost savings. The cover keeps all the leaves, dust, and dirt out of my pool...even when there is a dust storm, my pool has been fine and clear! It also saves on water evaporation, so you don't fill it as much with the cover. Just wanted to say I do love my pool cover and it is a timesaver and money saver for sure! I would not want a pool without a solar safe cover!!
