Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
COMPLAINT #  [redacted]          Replying to 3/3/2015     According to [redacted] we were to give her $299.00 to reserve the condo for a prospective buyer for staying there one week.  I told her that was too much, she said that's  what we get.  After a few months I asked [redacted] if they were going to take the unit and she said she had not heard from them, so I asked for the $299.00 be credited to the charge card, and she said yes, but it would take a couple 3 months to do it.  After 4 months I asked why we had not gotten the credit as it was after 3 months, she said she would have to check with her employer.  After another month I called again and she said her boss was busy, but she would check. Finally  called her that I was going to check with the Revdex.com and she said OK.   All we are asking for is the $299.00 which was a deposit on the unit and furthermore we have no desire  to do any further business with this company.  A deposit is not a rental agreement.  We never asked to rent, it was [redacted] that asked to rent to a prospective client.  There  was nothing agreed to about "NO REFUNDS", that was for the original contract.   All  this company is doing is stealing the $299.00.  We also want a statement that they are destroying our Credit Card number from their file.   AFTER THEY CREDIT THE $299.   [redacted] 3/4/2015

There is no proposal for a resolution in their response, just a lot of misstatements and a poor customer service attitude.  I was unhappy to again be called a liar with no valid claim as I was on the 10/13/2014 phone call from Mr. [redacted].   I find the statements in their response far from the truth and I resent the attitude that I "decided to complain because it was an e-mail and not a call".    If you look at dates, I sent the last e-mail on 04/15/2014, no response;  I left a phone message on 08/06/2014 for Mr. [redacted]-no response;  received e-mail on 08/11/2014.  Not only was it four months after I sent mine,  it did not even address my complaint about service.  Was any of this timely?  Since 08/11/2014 I have not received any contact other than the 10/13/2014 call about my complaint.   Please see my e-mail to you of 10/13/2014 regarding the phone call I received from Spotlight Resort.   I have frequently stated that I was unhappy with their overall lack of service,  it certainly was not based upon only one failure by Mr. [redacted] to return my calls.  It was not the first time I have complained of the same problem and each time I was told things would change, but they never did.  When I recently checked the Revdex.com complaints for Spotlight I was amazed to see how many other customers had the same bad experience.  Their write-ups could have been written by me with my same experiences.  The odd thing was that before I signed up with Spotlight in October I checked and found no complaints, but now there are several with the same issues.  Maybe Spotlight should review their current system and see where they have gone wrong this summer?

I am currently traveling abroad in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam where access to email and phone is hard and have asked Spotlight Resorts to contact me via email, but so far I have not received any reply from them.

This business is a scam. They have not provided the services promised nor will they return the many phone calls I have made to them several times per month. Steve H has told me that there was "Not a time share that he couldn't sell." I understand that these things can take time, but a year has gone by and after they collected the upfront fee (my mistake and will never do that again) virtually nothing has been done and they will NOT return my phone calls. They did offer, several months ago, an additional scam of sending them another $300 for an alleged rental time program after they collected my $600, which I have not done. These people are a joke.

Review: A representative from Spotlight Resorts, contacted and informed me that he could sell my timeshare. The representative told me that the timeshare would sell, and that I just had to pay an upfront onetime fee of $1,998. I obliged the representative, and paid this fee on September 12, 2012 with the understanding that my timeshare was would sell, however I have not seen a return on my investment with Spotlight Resorts to date. I was operating under the assumption that this was a legitimate company offering to help me sell my timeshare. Had I known that the promises were empty then I never would have agreed to pay for their services in the first place. I am seeking a full refund and any help regarding this matter is greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a full refund in the amount of $1,998.00

Spotlight Resorts

Spotlight Resorts, Inc. is a SCAM.

Thief who scams our senior citizens!

Never sold, rented or traded anything for $396. What a waste. I would have felt better flushing that money down my toilet!

Review: In October, 2013, I was contacted by Spotlight Resorts and signed up to sell my time share for the fee of $793.00. Less than a month later they called to tell me they had someone interested in renting my property to see if they wanted to buy it. Since I was not in the rental program I would miss the chance, but for just $299.00 sent immediately I could join. Once I sent the payment I never heard another word about these people. While no guarantee was made to sell or rent my unit they were very optimistic and did promise regular contact and updates on their progress. In nearly one year I have had five contacts, most of them generated by my e-mail or my call. I am usually told Mr. [redacted] is in the "showroom" and he will return my call later. Half the time I do not hear from him and when I do he normally tells me he is very busy with a new and extensive advertising project or a coming show. I feel they have failed to perform as promised and I am tired of their lack of service. Whenever I complain about it they tell me they have someone ready to buy or rent my property. Of course, that never happens and I do not get any further updates until my next call or e-mail.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the money they have collected from me, a total of $1092.00

Response:

Mrs. [redacted] was contacted reguarding this complaint. When we spoke to her, she had said that the reason for complaining was because the last time she called she didn't remember a call but was emailed the next day with the update. She realized that and wasn't complaining about her representative, but decided to complain because it was emailed and not a call. We told her our records showed 8 updates and a couple interested. When speaking with her representative just a few days ago, she had said that he always called her back and was not complaint about him. Okay, why the complaint? There was no wrong doing. Do we make false statements because we feel like it? We always update our members and we do so much to help them. We are the only company that does events, T.V. and radio. How have we failed to perform? We do everything for our members and work very hard on their behalf. It's not our fault her timeshare has not sold, it can take 2-8 months or longer for a buyer and we've explained that to her. She acknowledged this so where is the problem? Lack of service, what do you mean? Have you looked at the website to see all that we are doing for our members? T.V., radio and events! It's not true that when you call we have a buyer. If someone was interested we would have notified her. We've explained to everyone, if you have not heard from us, please give us a call for an update. When we have something we will always call you. We don't like it when things are said that are not true. Best thing to do is to express where your feelings are with us first. We can provide proof of everything we've been doing, that's why we post all of it on our website. We also have campaigns coming up too.

Review: The agent told me they had several buyers that was trying to buy my time share and since then, I haven't heard from the agent. I've called several times and no one has returned my calls. This has been going on since February of 2014.

Response:

To whom it may concern,

Mrs. [redacted] has been with us only 6 months; we have explained that timeshares do not sell overnight and it can take up to 8 months or longer to sell, it's explained on the contract that she signed. Also, we do not ever call people and say we have buyers ready to go! Those are companies that call folks and lie to them. We will contact our clients if we have someone interested. Again this statement is untrue! We have contacted her on 3/12/14, 3/19/14, 3/25/14, 4/10/14, 6/6/14 and 9/19/14, we have been very good about contacting our member. Our company is trying to make a difference in the industry and do what needs to be done to help people find buyers. We are launching a nationwide campaign on 10/10/2014 and will be on FOX, NBC, Travel, Cooking, Golf, Destination America, and TLC networks. As well as worldwide via internet and social media. We are the only company that does this, we feel that this is not only wrong for her to say such things but have tried to contact her several times to discuss this and have had no return calls from her. We can take her off the market or we can continue to market the timeshare. Our contract is a binding agreement between both parties, there are no refunds after 7 days. We have done everything per our agreement and much more to help her.

I received a phone call from Spot light. Some of the information They stated is not accurate. I was told by [redacted] that she had a few couples she was meeting with about my timeshare. I spoke to [redacted] about a refund and she asked me if another timeshare company called me.

I said no. So, she told me not to worry. Then she said, she would be out of town and would contact me later. I can not recall, but I do not remember getting those calls. I have no more to add to this complaint. Just dissapointed. Thanks Diane [redacted]

Response:

Well we keep track of every phone call and we don't make anything up. We must remember what was said and sometimes over time we begin to change in our minds, what was said to us originally. We do meet with people at these events but sometimes things don't work out the way we would like them to. However we are very aggressive in our marketing and we try very hard to help everyone find buyers as there are no companies out there that do what we do here. We really want to change the industry and honor every contract as a binding agreement. This contract is important and must be considered as such. We continue to work on every timeshare until the client is satisfied! We do hope you understand it sometimes takes time to find buyers.

Review: My husband and I were solicited by "[redacted]" to sell our time share @ a $500 fee, which was to include the price to advertise. [redacted] reassured us that he was a seasoned agent and had many years selling time shares and would sell our within 6-9 months, at the price of $10,000 and that he did not make commission off of us, but a $1,500 fee from the buyers. Two weeks later we received a call from "[redacted]" who told me that she had 2 people in line to rent out time share and that it would pay us $1600 for the weekly rental. [redacted] stated that we needed to "buy back" our time share week for an out of pocket fee of $400, but that she had 2 definite renters, and it was a first come first serve basis. She just need to hear back from one of them with dates. That was last Nov 2013. After 2 weeks I had made several calls to [redacted] and she NEVER returned calls. I then got a hold of the owner "[redacted]", who was absolutely RUDE! She said they were spending millions of dollars in advertising and we needed to let that get going. Finally [redacted] called back and said that the renters fell through. We were also told that we had 2 potential buyers, who of course fell through. [redacted] blamed it on the "recession". I have called at least 50 times, I NEVER get calls back whether I leave a voice mail or a msg with the receptionist. One the second off chance that I actually caught [redacted], she stated they had called me back.. LIE!!! [redacted] gave me her personal line and told me to leave a msg and wait 24-48 hrs for a call back LIE!!! [redacted] always makes excuses about advertising and now says he cant sell it. We have asked them to lower price to $5,000, they have not. I look online and it is not up for sale as of 7/13/14. Today I have left 3 msgs, pulled my phone records and am ready to go another route. These people are frauds. They scam your money .. seem to promise the same LIES, and then fail to respond! WARNING THEY ARE CORRUPT AND WILL NOT SELL YOUR TIMESHARE BUT TAKE YOUR MONEYDesired Settlement: We want our money back, return ALL phone calls Or sell our time share by Sept 1st !!!!!

Review: In March I entered into an agreement with Spotlight Resorts for them to sell my Timeshare in Las Vegas. The agreement was for them to sell my Timeshare before July 1 or return my payment of $1,000 to me. Since then I have made numerous calls to this organization with no response. It is now Oct 6. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.Desired Settlement: Just return my $1,000 as stated in the original agreement.

Response:

As we had told you earlier, the refund has already been done and was being sent out to you. Why did yo go to the Revdex.com and said we never talked to you is false and not appreciated. We were in contact with you.

Review: I was call by Spotlight resorts sales rep [redacted] back on July 2014 and I was asked if I wanted to sell my timeshare I was charged a membership fee fee of $396.00

I was told that this sale would be quick.. A few weeks later [redacted] call me. And told me she had two buyers and that they would like to see the timeshare so I had to set up a rental agreement with spotlight for $299.00 that was the last I heard from anyone at spotlight .

I called many times with only one return call by [redacted] and was told that she's working on. The rental.. Again on call back I call again this pass June 2015 and was told that [redacted] was not working there anymore she was on sick leave ,and someone would call me back and someone did call me back the person name was Lainey and she was taken over my unit and the sale would not take much longer. I did ask about the rental and was given the same story..I call again today September 8 2015 and asked had to leave a voicemail no call back yet. I this time I want a total refund of $695.Desired Settlement: I want a total return of $695.00

Response:

To whom it

may concern;

Mr.

[redacted] listed his timeshare with us on 07/10/14 no one ever told him it

would be quick, on our contract it explains it can take 2-8 months or longer, we

never tell our members a specific time frame. Also, we keep record of all updates;

he was updated with status of his property on 07/28, 08/14, 08/26, 10/01 and 06/27.

We do let our members know that during peak season it can take a little time to

get back to folks with updates because we are so busy with all the events, we

always get back to our members. He did

call for an update in September and his file was placed on the associates desk

to call back at just about the time this complaint came in, the associate was

about to call back. Mr. [redacted] needs

to be patient as we are extremely busy this time of year.

We do tell

our members if they have any questions, concerns or just need an update they

can call us at any time. If we have something we always call to see what our

members want to do. Also, [redacted] had a

couple that was interested in seeing the timeshare before considering buying,

she asked him what he wanted to do so he made it available for rent. In her notes she states that the couple was a

bit difficult and wasn’t giving her a time they could go. She kept on it and

finally had to let it go and work on the putting someone else in the rental.

She had another

couple she was working with but they flaked on her too. People are not like

they were years ago. This is what we

deal with all the time and isn’t our fault that people ask to do something and don’t

follow through. But we are still working on it and will continue to till done.

It’s so disturbing when a complaint comes in that isn’t true. If only people

see how hard we work 7 days a week. We apologize but there are no refunds after

7 days as stated on our contract he signed.

We can’t just get the money back or all that has been paid out to get

the work done. You paid for service and we have put a lot into this.

We’ve done

the 4th of July event, U.S open of Surfing, County Fair, Laguna

Fest, Russian River event and still have 3 more events this year. T.V commercial campaign coming up. Sincerely,Spotlight Resorts Manager

This is the same story I got from [redacted] last year and from [redacted] this year ...In the response from spotlight you can see the dates that they spoke with me I can say that the dates 8/14 /14- 8/26 /14 was not to update me be to get me allow them to rent my unit.the. Other dates I don't recall every getting a call from them ,and as per those dates you can see that I got no updates for a lest one year. I think I have been very patient . I still would like a call back from spotlight with a realistic update on my timeshare, and if they can't rent it I want a refund on that portion.

Review: This company solicited me to help market my timeshare. They said that they would place our time share up for $600 (admin fees) and the sale may take up to 6 months. About 3 months ago they said they has someone interested in the unit, haven't heard from them since. When you call they never answer, but they do return calls a day or so later to make it appear they are legit. Oh and they say they are Revdex.com accredited.. cant find them...Desired Settlement: Give me my money back

It has been over a year and we have requested refund many-many times and they refuse to honor our request. on Condo for prospective customer which has not shown up for over a yearDesired Settlement: Refund of the money paid for the prospective rental condo.

Response:

Dear [redacted]

You must understand that we are still working on the rental

for you. Unfortunately, we can’t make

people go on set dates to go. We have to

work with their schedules and send folks out when they want to go. Sometimes people drag their feet and try to

push them to make up their mind, we sometimes must be patient. We are continuing to work on this for you however;

we did explain to you that it’s completely up to you to make it available for

rent.As soon as we have the dates we

will be contacting you. Right now we

have been dealing with very bad weather issues and several of our folks have

pushed us out because traveling right now has become impossible for some folks.

Flights are being cancelled and folks prefer to wait till things are a little

better. We apologize for the wait and we will keep working on it for you. Again, there are No refunds after 7 days.

Good Afternoon, We have tried to get the resort fee back but the resort has already allocated the week to us and we are still working with our renter to get them out. Weather, has been a big issue for a lot of our clients. We may have dates in May and your associate will be in touch with you as soon as we confirm with them. I’m so sorry it’s taken longer than expected, but sometimes people are difficult to deal with and it becomes very frustrating for us. Again we apologize. We do not hold on to credit cards the merchants keeps it in there file. We don't have that information lying around. As mention, we will be working on this and continue to market and advertise. Spotlight Resorts Management

Review: I contacted Spotlight resorts several times at the end of May to discuss the sale of my time-share. It took several phone calls and finally I got a call back from a blocked number while I was at a restaurant. I called back several different days and there was always an excuse as to why my sales agent was not able to talk to me and guaranteed me that the person would call me back. Eventually during one call on June 27th, I asked to speak to the person's supervisor and the sales agent got on the phone. We got into an argument and I asked to speak to the supervisor. During the conversation, the supervisor accused me of being rude, etc, etc. and the supervisor hung up. I called back and spoke with the sales agent and while I felt we were getting somewhere in the conversation, that person hung up.

Below is the message I e-mailed Spotlight on Friday June 27th following the abrupt hanging up of the phone.

To Whom it may Concern,

This morning I checked my listing on your web page – Spotlightresorts.com . My membership number, rental and sales information is not listed. I was informed yesterday that they were being listed. When I checked, the below message was posted.

Sorry no results found!

Due to this breach, please send a refund of $695.00 to the following address as soon as possible.

I am sure M[redacted] and M[redacted] will fill you in on why they removed my listings after an unpleasant phone conversation between the three of us. But also remember there are always differing views and opinions to a problem. If more information is needed on my part please call[redacted].

I would like to solve this problem ASAP.

Please send a reply indicating that this message was received by Spotlight Resorts today June 27th, 2014.

Thank you

[redacted] member #[redacted]

Several days later the receptionist called and asked me if anyone from the company had gotten in touch with me. I replied no and asked if they had received my e-mail. [redacted] said they had and someone would contact me.

Next is the e-mail I received from the supervisor.

M[redacted], This is very easy to resolve! You can apologize to [redacted] for talking to her the way that you did! She works 7 days a week for her clients trying to help sell the timeshares! We all put 100 percent into helping people and we are the only company in the usa that does tv, radio, and events! We can not control who buys the timeshare or when it will sell! But, we continue to showcase until the property is sold. But, when you talk to people like that they are not going to want to help! [redacted] will always get back to you as she always has done. We don't sit at a desk all day and wait for you to call. We have events that we are at all the time and it sometimes takes a day or so to get back to you. On top of that she has been very sick and took a half day to get some rest and try to recover. You are so out of line and it's very sad that you think the way you do! We caIn put you back on the website and continue to show the property but, I would apologize to her first so that she feels comfortable representing your timeshare! I think you just drained the energy out of her and she was very disappointed! So, M[redacted] what do you want us to do!

There are no refunds after 7 days as we have already put the work in and all that has had to be done to showcase! So it's up to you to send her an email. She will continue to showcase once she gets that!

Sincerely, General manager

I replied July 2nd with the following e-mail and as of today July 4th, 2014 have heard nothing.

[redacted],

Rather than getting into an argument again, please refund my money. There is no need for either of us to go into a lengthy explanation of what has transpired. Bottom line is that my timeshare property was removed from spotlight resorts listing without my consent in spite of the seven day time period.

I await your response,

I have all e-mails and a phone recording if needed for your review.

Thank you for your help,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Bottom Line:

They run a business. They collected money from me to list my timeshare through their network. Because of criticism and a disagreement, they hung up on me and removed my listing without my knowledge or consent. At the moment they removed my listing, Spotlight Resorts broke their agreement with me. They stated in multiple e-mails they would showcase my timeshare until it was sold. How are they showcasing it if they have removed it from the listing?

As previously stated, the General Manager broke the agreement. Now they state that I must apologize before they will put it back up on the webpage!!!!! I want them to send me my money back. ($695.00)

awesome people sold my timeshare!!

Review: First paid $396 for Spotlight to advertise to sell my property. Then I got a call from them saying they had two couples ready to buy but that they wanted to use the property first. For $598 I would allow them to stay for 2 weeks and I would receive $1400 per week for their renting out my property. After I authorized the charge, I never heard from them again. A few months later, I got a call saying that they needed my authorization (which I had mailed to them) so they could rent out my property. They wasted a whole summer of potential renters without doing anything or notifying me that a paper was missing.Desired Settlement: I'm requesting a refund for all the money I have paid them. When I signed up, [redacted] promised weekly reports. Reports stopped after the first week and then they let a whole summer go without even considering renting (I have their email) because they alledgedly didn't have all the necessary paperwork.

To whom it may concern,

In regards to Mr. [redacted]'s request via the Revdex.com, Spotlight Resorts is trying to get a hold of him to talk to him about the complain and wants to settle this current problem. We are requesting a call from him to resolve this issue. Since it took so long for him to get the paperwork back we were not able to complete the rental. We have an associate that calls for the paperwork reminding our members to send it in. We tried to contact him and finally after several calls and e-mails we received it months later. This business is a scam. They have not provided the services promised nor will they return the many phone calls I have made to them several times per month. Steve Hill has told me that there was "Not a time share that he couldn't sell." I understand that these things can take time, but a year has gone by and after they collected the upfront fee (my mistake and will never do that again) virtually nothing has been done and they will NOT return my phone calls. They did offer, several months ago, an additional scam of sending them another $300 for an alleged rental time program after they collected my $600, which I have not done. These people are a joke.
