I thought they were wonderful; for the first year but they are now holding more than $hostage pending what they call an account verification-same customer and credit card as has been used for over a year and now they are demanding my *** account and *** account info before they will release any money I tried to call but you can not get through without a customer code and I can not get them to issue me that code Beware of themThey are bad news

After making the complaint the money showed up in my accountAs for the policy of not having live customer service (via phone or IM) in my view it's a lame excuseIt took days to resolve what could have been settled in minutes, and they do not respond in hours, or hours, or hours

square is absolutely the worst merchant company that you can do business withI processed a transaction to only be notified later that my account would be shut down and that they were holding my funds in the sum of 9,for days and there is nothing they can do different about itI am or was a small start up company and because of square I am now out of businessthanks a lot squarenot to mention getting ahold of someone on the phone is absolutely impossible they hide behind emails

square is holding nearly $of mine and getting ahold of somone with customer support is a jokethey emailed me telling me they do not have the ability for a phone conversation and getting a responce through email is no help at all they are not out to help the customer only to rob them and tell you to jump through hoops to get your own money

Processed large transactions...All were approved to find out later that they are denying the transactions because they think I used my own card to make payments to myself...I sold my father a 60k solar system...installed and everything...Hence the different name on the cards used and my business account...duh....So now I cant get paid for a while..terrific..best part is you cant talk to a goddamn person because they send you all over the world for a customer code that is nonsense...DO NOT waste your time or money with this crap companyI own a million dollar a year business and can afford to have people answer the phone if there is a problem These mns don't understand customer serviceCompletely UNACCEPTABLE

I have been a customer of Square's since they opened in to process credit cards for my business in the health and wellness industry On November 18th, 2016, Square deactivated my account without warning They won't allow me talk to customer service because I am not an active customerbecause they deactivated my account They referred me to sections of their terms that suggested that I am performing illegal activities through my business, which is frankly, offensive Responses from customer service have been very cookie cutter with no real information They won't give me any specifics as to why my account was deactivated I have been left to scramble around in search of a replacement service to I can continue to operate my business Their business practices are damaging to the small businesses that rely on them

I have responded with what I feel is the necessary information Square requested including, reciepts, invoices, a description of my business, what items I sale and my website and proof of items sent to me by the distributor
I have not heard why they cannot place my funds in my accountI would like to speak with someone from the companyI would like my funds placed into my accountI feel that they do not value my relationship with them and after my funds are received, our relationship might need to end
I want a person to discuss this issue with me so we can get it straightened outThe website makes it look easy to start accepting funds but in truth, it worked well to accept the funds but not to have them entered into my account

I used Square for a bit back in with no issue but business closedI recently opened another business and decided to go back with SquareAfter my first sale on the new account was taken, and I received an email that had me going
through every hoop they demandedContractor licencing proof,bank statement,state tax id #,
contracts with clients on & onI get email next day (no deposit of funds) stating funds were seized to cover chargebacks from that old accountI was never was able to speak with anyone! After some research I found out and wasn’t aware there was fraudulent activity on the old account in March by an employee that switched information to their own (bank, email, etc)Our domain was deactivated when business closed so I never received any emails afterwardsTherefore I wasn’t given the opportunity to resolve or try to clear up old account; just another email stating new account deactivated due to suspicious activitiesI assume since I was on hold for an hour and no one answered the account was being deactivated and reading here “deactivated accounts” don’t get supportI understand the payment for old account needed to be cleared but I think this could have been handle in a professional mannerDefinitely Would...Would Definitely NOT USE or Recommend

I had a hack happen to my Square account almost two weeks ago and my email address was changed and I list two days of transactionsI have not been able to get hold of a person on the phoneI finally received an email saying they put a protective hold on the account and would call me the next day to resolve the matterI have given them my number a couple of times, some other friends have written them to let them know, but as to date it is almost a week later and I have heard nothing from them in regards to resolving this matterI have no idea how safe my clients are at this point and where my transactions went and if I will get that money backYou need a code to call them and since my email address was changed my code I had was no goodSo you can't call and get in touch with anyone!!

Square is refusing to help me resolve a purchase dispute and actually hung up on me when I was trying to get additional information about the issue

We opened a square account for our small business and they verfied our bank account and things went smooth for the first weekThen after we were waiting on over figures to be deposited, we got an email stating our account was deactivated without any reason or just causeNot only did they shut down the account but they held all of our money from usWe are a small business by them stealing our money we are losing everything we have worked forWhat they are doing to us is 100% criminal!!! They are holding our money for days they say...We may not still be in business that long because of thisThey will not even speak to us by telephone because they deactivated our account

Stay away from this companyRead how square destroys small business accounts with no recourseThey did this to a company of disabled military veteransWe needed online invoicing for our small shopSquare let us set up, took money from a client on one transaction using American Express card then square demanded we provide supporting documentation for our business existenceWe provided Federal EIN, copies of the invoice for the transaction and informed square we were smallAnd only had a web contact page as we were still building siteSquare demanded the same documents TWICE from usWhen we complained about that and refused to be extorted into taking out a company advertisement we do not need or want, the Square rep seized our money, closed our account and denied us the ability to even talk with anyoneWe were toled the reason was "a pattern of risky transactions" how is ONE TRANSACTION A PATTERN??? I used my personal account to get a phone code and was threatened by Square rep and led to believe that if I made another issue out of business account being closed, my personal one could be affected as wellSHAME, SHAME SHAME!
