From: [redacted] <[redacted]>Date: Sun, Jul 17, 2016 at 12:10 AMSubject: (1of4) #[redacted]/Lay it StraightTo: Revdex.com <[email protected]>I received a msg requesting a contract from LIS. We have never received one. Our attorney also requested a contract from LIS. The only info they sent him was this copy of our sales order. The amount paid was done prior to work starting and when original cabinets were ordered. The cabinet fee includes all upper/lower cabinets, end panels, trim work, filler pieces, and touch up kits.We did not receive end panels, touch up kits, trim pieces, and are missing 2 inside shelves. We made several attempts to have LIS repair the poor quality work and repair damaged cabinets. After months of delays, they stated that they would not move forward with any work unless balance was paid in full. That included paying for items and work not yet received or done. No work associated with granite and sink has been started. After they threatened legal action against us, we contacted our attorney. They did not respond to him in regards to completing our project. We have since repurchased missing cabinetry items from another company. Costing us an additional $1000.I will be forwarding additional info in another email.Thank you,[redacted]Attachments area

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I have cashed the check, which covers partial payment of the floor. The vinyl has been ordered.  I paid the difference between the check from Lay It Straight and balance due to Mc Swain for material and installation.   I am hoping that the material comes in and my floor can be installed very soon.   I thank the Revdex.com for mediating.  You have accomplished what I have been trying to do since August 2016.  Since I paid for EVERYTHING upfront, I had no other recourse since owner Alex Pollitt would not respond. If there was no response to the  Revdex.com complaint,  then small claims court was next.  Interesting way for Lay It Straight to do business!Again, THANK YOU Revdex.com

Mr [redacted] can pick up his tile when it gets here as mentioned before And he can take it to [redacted] if he would like Thanks again

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Again....they charged me $160 for the tile bullnose work that was never completed.  I should never have paid them in advance.  They are suggesting that I pick up the tile, and pay to have the bullnose.  I already did that with my own tile for an out-of-pocket cost of $50.  They are dishonest, and I no longer wish any more dealings.  It amazes me that they continue to push this dishonest behavior with the Revdex.com.  One would think that they would rather it be forgotten.  Please do not send me another email.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Lay it Straight is being dishonest.  I did not provide a positive review on Alexsreview.com, nor have I ever placed a review on that website.  Below is the email sent to them yesterday before contacting the Revdex.com.This is an official request for full reimbursement of the costs associated with the bullnose tile that was ordered on 8/19/2015, reference S.O. number 611.  Description Qty Rate Amount3x6 subway  2 boxes $6.62 $13.24Bullnose labor 20 $8.00 $160.00Total $173.24The service provided to resolve this issue has been totally unacceptable, causing significant delay in completing our bathroom.  Repeated calls for status were not returned.  Now we find out today that after more than 6 additional weeks you still have not received the tile or initiated the bullnose.  This demonstrates a total lack of disregard for customer service, and leaves us no choice but to file a formal complaint with the Revdex.com.  Please draft a check for the amount, and we will pick it up personally.  This has been very disheartening, as we were pleased with the quality of the cabinet and countertop, and have no idea why you would treat us this way. Also, checking online from [redacted], the same tile is available with free shipping by Dec 30th, so there is no excuse for the compounded delays stretching into multiple months of waiting. Also, please confirm via email that you received this email, and confirm when we can pick up the check.  [redacted] and [redacted]###-###-####It is correct that they failed in the first attempt for bullnose, and were supposed to have the second completed before Thanksgiving.  Then it was by December 16th.  They say the tile will be in tomorrow, but that is just the unfinished tile that still has to go back to the bull nose company.  Also, they did not inform us of the first failure.  We had to go into the store because they were not giving us any information, and that's been the many weeks ago. The owner wa in the store a t the time, showed me the discolored tile, and a "test attempt" at an unfinished tile that went through the furnace at a lower temperature.  The real issue is that this [redacted]er has literally stretched on for months with no resolution, and they did not return our calls until yesterday.  Also, the sales agent refused to allow me to speak to the owner for resolution.  She said the owner only comes in rarely, she speaks to her via cell phone.  Note the extreme delay above from the original purchase, and we have been without the bathtub for months.   They have essentially done nothing since early November, and if they claim the issue is related to shipping delays that is not substantiated, as I offered in November to provide them some of my tiles.  The sales agent gave no reason for the delay, and said it was not her responsibility.  We just want our money back.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear Their entire response is a fabrication. They were to design our kitchen. We were told to bring current measurements as a guide. They said they did not need to come out and measure. The cabinets they ordered were smaller than our measurements, so either way, their reasoning makes no sense. We have paid 70% of our total bill. We do not have 70% of our project complete. We do not owe $4000. LIS has threaten to put a lien on our house and will not complete project until the balance is paid in full. They say this is in our contract; however, they have yet to supply this document to me or our attorney. Yes, we have had to hire an attorney. As of last week, they were still needing to remeasure for the granite template, so why would we have paid for it.  They have not been to our house since May 3rd and had not requested any additional payment until May 31st. The same day the "legal action" and abandoning our project was threatened. We informed them that due to delays, poor workmanship, and lack of communication (this is putting things lightly) we have lost all faith in LIS to complete the work as promised.  We hoped that they would have followed through and completed the project they started and continued to drag out for 3 months. We would have been more than happy to pay balance in full once said work was completed.  They can now discuss this with our attorney. Pictures of the mess they left can be found on [redacted] and [redacted] reviews.

This is the same concern.   His tile has been ready for pick up . Mr [redacted] was notified through email and telephone. He refused to pick them up.  The tile is here waiting thanks

To whom it may concern, I don't agree with lay it straight regarding their explanation of work performed yes I did initial the granite viewing. Because the granite was at a different location and didn't fit in time line but myself and the sales lady had agreement that the granite would be uniform and Free of imperfections. Which it was not when delivered the first time. As far as the measurements I did have a backsplash that was installed from previous owners but they was open area's for them to take measurements they didn't measure right which caused the material to be to short and not to fit correctly so they removed and was going to replace along with the island which had to large areas that looked like rust or coffee stains which didn't feel the imperfections that I had mentioned when they returned with the new pieces they had only replaced one piece which it also had a Large Rust- coffee stains look which I told them before wouldn't work . I told them to leave it in because I was having a surprise birthday party for my wife after the party they came to remove saying they were going to recut the intire job they set-up time for my wife and myself to pick out new slabs but when arriving they had something else in mind we picked a new piece for the island but they had a piece from the same lot for the sink piece but wasn't sure if it was enough to fit so I made the suggestion that they use the original piece and cut one end off and make a piece that would go on the other end so they would have enough material they agreed colors matched up but the employee that made this cut it to short in the other direction so when they installed it I had over a 1" gap against the back wall which didn't allow me to use my filler piece for my backsplash, they wanted to cut filler piece but I said no do to I would have to hid the seam with a grout line which would have been 1/2" thick so I ask them to make me a 5" backsplash to hide gap again I'm trying to work with them. So when they were supposed to be there didn't show no call or email so I called the sales lady to find out what was going on she said it was her off day but she would find out . 1/2 he. before needing to be at work she called to say well there on their way I told them no . It was to late that I needed to be at work. If I hadn't called would they have ever called doubt it, the owner hardly ever return's my emails also that sat. That they installed which was 6/24/2017 was supposed to been ready on Friday but changed to Saturday which I had to work which left my wife there . She didn't know what to look for but did notice the large gap in back wall installers told her that could be fixed no a correct answer yes everything thing can be half done right but when you're paying thousands of dollars you want it done right. They have not done things right and in a timely manner so there forth I'm requesting a full refund so me and my wife can move forward thank you

We have called [redacted] several times since the last meesage she has not reponded nor called back Please have her call back so we can resolve. Monday through friday 10 to 6 to speak with mrs pollitt

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Mrs. Pollitt contacted me, but DID NOT take care of it.  The installer never installed,  Both Mrs. Pollitt and the installer gave me the run around about install, The only reason the installer called me in February is because a representative from the company he contracts with called him to find out why he has not responded to me.  Notice this is FEBRUARY.2017. The damage occurred in August,, 2016.  Mrs. Pollitt contends that since she purchased material for repair that she was finished.  She was also supposed to pay for repair. Mrs. Pollitt did not follow up on this, nor would she give me answers as to why my floor was not repaired from September through current.   Material to repair has been purchased, which I found out in February when visiting the company that I originally purchased the floor.  It would seem that all of my prior phone calls would have at least yielded the information that the vinyl was purchased. The installer is not an employee of the company where the vinyl was purchased. He is a contractor for them.  In addition, she did not pay the installer, nor the company for the labor involved in repair. Only material. As stated in my letter to her and to the Revdex.com, as months passed with no work done on my floor, I did more research to find out if the repair would actually work. Experts state that it would not be like it was prior.  Repairs will be evident on a patched sheet vinyl with a pattern such as mine. I submitted this information to her in March.  Both Mrs. Pollitt and I have spoken to a representative from the company where the vinyl was purchased.  We both have the numbers of what it will take to replace the floor instead of patching.  The unknown to me is how much she paid for the vinyl to patch, since that seems to be the area of dispute.  She states she does not know what she paid.        It

Regards,
[redacted]Again the company is responding by telling lies. This company had the contractor return to my home several times. They returned to place tape on the drywall because I called expressing concern about hole created during the installation, reattach my dishwasher to the countertop because my dishwasher tipped over and many of my glass dishes were broken and readjust the wire holding up my sink because during the installation, the contractor installed the sink wires incorrectly and it obstructed the drainage pipe. Rotor Rooter could not place drainage pipes under the sink until the wire was adjusted. They informed the problem will be permanently resolved when the tile backsplash is installed. They will glue and grout the granite backsplash to the wall. I was guaranteed this would be done. Now that I've proven the company actually completed the measurements, sent an email regarding a refund, and email proving he received the measurements, they refuse to take responsibility. This is not acceptable.

We do not grout granite back splashes  [redacted] removed the existing tile back splash after after we installed her granite counter top . I'm sure when she removed the tile ofd the wall it made holes and gaps there plus what ever other damage she did.

Tile is here and is available for pick up Mr [redacted] has been notified Thanks again

Once again [redacted] did not pay for the tile or the install there is nothing to refund.

Thank you for you interest in this [redacted]er.Lay It Straight sent the tile to [redacted] to have bull nosed and they heated it at the wrong temperature and turned it blue. Mr [redacted] came in and was shown this tile The tile did not pass our inspection when it came back. Mr [redacted] was offered...

a different finishing end piece. And he wanted to wait. As Mr [redacted] was told yesterday the tile will be here today. He said he was going to contact Revdex.com ...  Lay It Straight paid for that tile twice because [redacted] refused. We did Mr [redacted] granite top cabinets and the rest of the tile design . Which he stated he was very happy with. Check out Mr [redacted] s review on alexsreviews.com this is a review site for clients. Absolutely amazingWhen Mr [redacted] tile is completed he will be notified to pick it up Thanks againLay It Straight

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Contracts were not received, by us or our attorney. I have also forwarded, in a seperate email, the final letter from our attorney to LIS. After trying to resolve this issue with no success, we had no choice but to have our kitchen completed by another company.

*Mrs. Pollitt, owner of Lay It Straight, did not suggest a solution in her response, nor was her information factual. *Mrs. Pollitt, owner of Lay It Straight, has been giving me the run around for months.  None of this can be resolved if she does not call me with the needed numbers and discuss solutions.*Meanwhile, I have a damaged kitchen floor that I have lived with since August of 2016.
