Service issues with sanding/grouting, grass, and drain
My husband and I had a pool installed by *** and *** in September. The pool contract included 3ft worth of travertine to go around the pool by a company that *** and *** sub-contracts out. This was Stewart's Landscaping. After speaking with one of Bronson S's sales reps in December of 2018, we decided to change out our brick patio for travertine and do some landscaping around the area and in the front yard where the trucks had been coming in to install the pool. It started out ok, but then started to get bad when the two employees he had installing the tile did a sub par job. They were unsupervised and no one came to check on their work. When we raised concerns, his sales rep would come and speak with us about it. Wes B said that we could mark tiles that we wanted to change out, so we did. By the time they would come out to correct the tile, the tape that we used to mark the tiles was coming off. My husband asked if he could mark them with a sharpie and Mr. B said yes. When the two employees came back to correct the tile, they sanded off the sharpie marks and just sanded/grouted the area over again so we wouldn't notice it. In the meantime, in emails Wes B, Bronson S's employee, called my husband a psychopath for asking to have things done the right way. After getting *** and *** involved, the corrections were made and we were told by Bronson S that they would come and sand the area again at no cost in the Spring. We also had hired them to plant grass in the front yard where all the trucks were coming in and there was only mud. Stewart's Landscaping charged us $400 for grass that died right after it grew. It was Rye grass and that is not what we have in our front yard. It looks like we have two different yards going on. Half dead and half beautiful and green. We also had a drain near the front door installed. It never worked properly and recently I saw where the pipe had come up that the two employees installed. The pipe had water runoff heading right down the hill to our neighbor's driveway. The total for the drain to be installed was $875. I have had another landscaper come and look at the sub par work and he said the drain was installed improperly and that's why our front sidewalk is still not draining and he was the one who also told us about the grass dying and that it is Rye grass. We had no idea that this word that was completed in January was not up to par until recently. My husband and I emailed Bronson S on two different occasions (5/22 and 5/29)and did not hear back. Mr. S had said to contact him in the Spring to sand the travertine and he would do it, but we can't get him to respond to any of our concerns.

Desired Outcome

We are seeking the cost of the Rye grass that was planted and dies and also the drain and installation that was improperly done. The total is $1275 and this is what it is going to cost to correct the issues.

Hey ***,

I have been back to this customers house multiple times to resolve issues that do not exist. The rye was planted because it was winter and that is the only thing that will grow during winter. We discussed coming back and laying sod in the spring once the weather warmed up which we gave them a quote to do. After numerous visits to fix issues that did not exist I was no longer interested in laying sod for the amount quoted or doing anymore additional work for Roberts. They are impossible to please, there is nothing wrong with the drain installed.

Mr. S called us the day after he received the Revdex.com complaint. He left a message and said that he would fix everything in our complaint. We called him back and he said that he would call us back next week. He never did. Sod was discussed for the back yard around the pool, but never in the front. We would never have paid $400 for Winter grass that would die in two months and then replace it with sod. That doesn't make sense. The drain runoff goes into our neighbor's driveway. It is not proerly installed if it does that. Mr. Stewart would not know if it is, or isn't because he has never come to check on his employees' work. It took them less than an hour to put a drain in and plant the grass netting. It is disappointing to read that Mr. S thinks we are impossible to please. We just want quality work done for the amount of money we spent with his company and were and are disatisfied. Mr. S stated in his response that he is not interested in doing any more work for us, therefore he did not propose a resolution that we can accept. We are asking for our money for the drain and the grass to be done correctly. The amount is $1275.

Stewart's Landscaping stated they would send us a check to resolve the issue from our complaint, but it has been three weeks and we have not received the check. Mr. S asked us to put in writing that we would not talk negatively about him, or his company in order to receive the payment and I did so when I responded and accepted the resolution.
