Stone Street Capital Reviews (81)

Review: I entered into a contract with Stone Street Capital for them to purchase part of my structured settlement. I went to court on September 8, 2014 and it was approved by the judge in [redacted] County. I was told on September 5, 2014 by [redacted] that was nothing in my file to hold up funding on Wednesday September 10, 2014. I have been in constant contact with [redacted] only to find out that they are now using stall tactics delaying my funding. I did all the leg work for this company and they did not have to do the work to locate the papers they needed , but yet they still are avoiding paying me my money of $10100.32. They are in breach of a court order and I want my money paid ASAP.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY MONEY PAID TO ME ASAP THAT TO ME MEANS RIGHT NOW. NO MORE LIES AND DECEITFUL TACTICS TO AVOID PAYING ME. I ALSO WANT COMPENSATION FOR ALL MY AGGRAVATION. I AM A DISABLED WOMAN AND THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THAT FACT.

Response:

This customer entered into a contract to sell certain structured settlement payments. Under applicable state and federal law, our company is required to notify all individuals with an interest in these payments of the potential transaction. To identify individuals that may have an interest, Stone Street must review certain documents. Unfortunately, this customer no longer had copies of these documents, and Stone Street needed to seek these documents from alternative sources including searching archived court records, and this process can take longer. As of today, Stone Street has yet to receive these documents, and the applicable courts have indicated that they may not have these records any longer. We expect to either receive the documents or to get a confirmation from the courts that these documents are unavailable within the next few days. Assuming that the documents do not indicate that a third party has an interest in these payments, Stone Street should be able to close this transaction at that time.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The company has had 3 months to obtain the documents they need. They have now not been able to retrieve the divorce papers and still are not releasing the rest of my the money owed to me. They keep telling me that the legal department is working on it but here I sit still without my money. This is not a way to conduct business. All I want is my money ASAP.

Regards,

Business

Response:

As discussed Stone Street could not fund the transaction until it received certain documents that proved that certain third parties did not have a claim to the payments that our customer sought to sell. Stone Street received the documents from the courts directly, and we funded [redacted] on October 6, 2014.

Review: I received a letter in the mail for a promotion sponsored by StoneStreet Capital. It said they would give me $50 just for calling a number and completing a 5-minute survey. When I called I was told I couldn't have the $50 without getting information from another company and calling back again. According to the fine print on the back I am absolutely eligible for the $50 and answered every question that was asked, as stipulated must be done in the fine print.

My eligibility according to the fine print on the reverse side and my completion of the actions on the front side of the letter describing how to receive the $50 (calling and answering some questions) entitles me to the $50 which I was denied.Desired Settlement: I wish to receive the $50 gift card or check, as I completed every required aspect in accordance with the promotion.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

The promotional mailer does not explicitly state, not allude to the notion that paperwork regarding my settlement payments must be furnished. Were that the case, others who I know would have no gotten their promotional payment. StoneStreet should either stop sending me the promotional offers or re-word the fine print in such a way that reflects what they are claiming. Regardless, I'll be expecting the $25 in the mail, as I completed what was required to obtain it.

[redacted]12:38 PM (3 hours ago)to me[redacted] thanks for the follow-up. In order to clear up any confusion **. [redacted] still has, I have attached a copy of the mailer that he received. The mailer clearly states that in order to qualify for the promotion the customer must show that they have a qualifying annuity. **. [redacted] never provided information to show that he indeed had such an annuity. Thanks [redacted]

Review: In March,2013, I sold part of an insurance annuity I own. For at least the last 6 months I have been receive both mail and phone calls from Stone Street Capital stating I did not receive all "that I was due" at the time of the sale of my annuity, and that they can get me "what I'm worth". Stone Street Capital keeps implying that I have annuity funds I can sell them..I do not, and will not, until 2017. Stone Street Capital has never been involved in the sale, yet they keep sending correspondence that appears to know details of my contract, and official looking documents that appear to be from a government agency claiming that if I don't act soon I will lose any & all funds due me. These letters look like they come from a district court and have all the appearance of being legitimate..until you open them. Then the letters became quite clear that these were a sales pitch. I get these letters at least once or twice a week in the mail, and until very recently, phone calls from sales reps. The phone calls stopped when we changed our phone number, but I fear they will start up again. Please, I wish no contact from Stone Street Capital any longer, as I do not have an annuity I could sell them.Desired Settlement: Please have them stop their high pressure tactics..I receive at least 8-10 pieces of mail from them per month...some appearing to be court type documents..some are checks made out to me..

From: [redacted] <[redacted]>Date: Fri, Jan 23, 2015 at 12:35 PMSubject: Complaint number [redacted].To: "[redacted]" <[redacted]>Cc: David L[redacted] <[redacted]>Dear Mr. [redacted],We apologize for the delay in responding to this complaint. Stone Street takes in membership and excellent rating from the Revdex.com seriously, and promptly investigated this complaint upon receipt but failed to post an appropriate response to your website. Upon receiving the complaint from Mr [redacted], Stone Street immediately removed his name from all mailing lists. Mr. [redacted] should not have received any type of mailing from Stone Street Capital since December 2014. In his complaint, Mr. [redacted] indicated that he received eight to ten mailings per month from Stone Street. As Stone Street typically sends one or two mail pieces each month (and none could be described as looking like official government or court documents), it seems that Mr. [redacted] is likely receiving mail from some of Stone Street’s competitors in addition to the mail that he receives from Stone Street. While we can remove him from our mailing list, this will not impact any other mail that he receives from other companies and he will have to contact the other companies to have his name removed from their mailing lists as well. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Patricia A. L[redacted]Senior Vice President and Structured Settlement Division CounselStone Street Capital, LLC[redacted]

Review: This company has sent me several articles in the mail I have made SEVERAL attempts to have this stopped. Yet I am STILL receiving postcards and letters in the mail that look like Official US Mail Notifications or Government Notices or even greeting cards. This is becoming annoying. I have filed a complaint with the United States Postal Inspector after receiving the last postcard that looks like Final Notification of Certified Mail. This has become a constant problem. I have already made several attempts to have this stopped.Desired Settlement: WHERE DID YOU GET MY ADDRESS AND NAME!! Leave me alone. Please confirm you are removing me from ALL your lists do not contact me again with the exception of a letter sent by US Mail signed by a real person not a computer confirming you are stopping all further contact with me!! I am asking that this letter be hand written and signed. This will show that you are truly attempting to correct this issue. Do not use the font that looks like hand writing that you have been sending on all the cards you have been sending. I will expect this if you are a reputable company. I will continue to pursue with the US Postal Service Inspectors Office to ensure this is stopped to your other customers who are complaining online. HOW DO YOU HAVE AN A+ RATING HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!

We have permanently removed Mr . [redacted] from our mailing list. It is possible that he will receive one last mailer that has already been mailed, but he will not be included in any future marketing efforts.

Review: I've been getting non-stop letters (about 3-4 a day) to both my addresses from stone street capital. I've called 3 times to stop getting these letters. Today, after being disconnected 3x I got ahold of a manager named Jason who "pretended" not to hear me when I said I would like to be taken off the mailing list. He then informed me I should probably not curse as much and maybe something would be done. I'm sorry but after a receptionist disconnected me 3 times I was quite angry. I no longer have an annuity and I thank god I changed my number so youre company can not call me nonstop if the way you mail stuff is the way you handle phone calls. I don't consider the way your company handles phone calls very business appropriate.Desired Settlement: I want to stop getting offers for an annuity that no longer exists. I want to stop getting multiple letters in my mailbox of offers! Just stop! Take me off your lists!

Review: There is a sales rep that works for stone street capital, His name is Johnathen(so he says), The last number he left with a family member is ###-###-####. This person after numerous attempts of my phone calls returning his, Mailed letters asking him to back of with his harassing phone calls.

Clearly stating to him that I am not interested in selling my annuity payments, numerous mail sent by him and his company That I send back. Now he has become clever in mailing loads of mail with no return address, costing the company mailing postage fees,(lots of mail). He is now leaving my personal business on family members answering machines. He even drove to my community on surprise.I know this because the guard at the gate called me, I refused to let him in. He is relentless and I have warned him and others in that branch in florida, either [redacted], [redacted] FL., That I will pursue legal action against them. I have traced phone calls.Recorded messages to prove my case. I am not interested with doing business with this company or any other. This has been repeated over and over. They do not leave you alone even after telling them you are not interested. So,with that said, To all consumers, Please be aware of this company. They are relentless in putting your public records all over you and your family members. This might be the work only of this individual listed above. But the company is only as good as the people that work for them. Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I continue to recieve mail and phone calls from "STONE STREET CAPITAL. As I have stated before, What they have been doing is sending the mail with no return addresson the envelope, enticing you with "PAY TO THE ODER" through the envelope window. I am now looking to sue them for putting my Private information on Family's answering machines and also Talking with them.

Review: About a year ago I contacted the Revdex.com in regards to this company contacting me. My phone is on the Do Not Call List. I not only talked via the phone, but I sent a certified letter requesting them not to contact me either by mail or phone. After that did not work I finally contacted you and requested that they send me a written apology, which they did along with their promise never to contact me again. After all that they are still calling me on my cell phone. Their latest call was 7:22 PM this evening, Aug 19, 2013. I explained to their salesperson that I have no plans to ever use their services and find it annoying for them to keep hounding me trying to get me to sell my annuity to them. I also told them I would be contacting the Revdex.com and reporting them to the Do Not Call List. I have done everything short of changing my cell phone number and seek legal action against them. As of right now I am filing this complaint in hopes to avoid the legal action, but I will be changing my phone number. I feel they should pay for me to change my number and for my time, which they have wasted on numerous occasions. Seriously, what sort of company keeps calling someone back who is filling complaints to Revdex.com about their phone calls?Desired Settlement: At this point I am requesting a letter of apology, a check for my wasted time ($200), and for them to pay for me to changing my phone number ($100). After having to put up with their company for over 6 years pulling this kind of stunt I feel I am being quite reasonable asking for $300.

Response:

I will gladly drop the damages from my complaint to you. I understand that I would have to seek legal action in order to pursue any monetary compensation from Stone Street Capital. Once again I am requesting a written apology from them and for them to stop calling me.

Review: I sold my settlement payments for $43,000 . We went to court in [redacted] NJ , 4/25/13 there they told me that I should be getting paid the $43,000 between 24 - 48 hours , 3 weeks later ( 5/18/13 ) I got paid $39,000 and they told me that I had to wait around a month for the other $3,000 and 2 months passed and I'm still waiting to receive my $3,000 . I call almost everyday and they tell me that their going to look into to it and I call back and keep getting the same answer.Desired Settlement: GET paid the amount they owe me

Review: I have received phone calls and mailings from Stone Street Capital for almost 10 years. Each time I receive any communication from them, I ask to be removed from their distribution. They agree. A month or so later, I hear from them again. I consider these communications to be harassing. They are unwanted, unrequested, unnecessary. I will never partake in any service they provide. I am at my wits end. It seems like I will tell the receptionist to remove me from their lists, and someone else will call me the next month or send me a check to cash. I shouldn't have to tell each employee that Stone Street Capital has to leave me alone.Desired Settlement: I would like to be removed from their distribution lists (mail, phone, email, anything they haven't invented yet) in total. I would like confirmation this has happened.

Review: I am receiving offers to take advantage of my structured settlement. I do not have a structured settlement I am a college student. I called the company and spoke with [redacted], he said I must have gone on to their website and gave them my information, which is not true, and if it was why would I put the incorrect town that I live in. I have student loans and I think that is where they obtained my information from. [redacted] argued with me that I MUST have gone on to the webiste because that is the only way they could have gotten the information. Also, they are sending these offers in the form of greeting cards, post cards, checks etc. which I feel is deceptive.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Cease and desist sending me offers to take advantage of a structured settlememt that I do not have. And also to stop sending out offers disquised as cards, checks, post cards etc.

Review: I have been receiving unsolicited and unwanted calls from Stone Street Capital in Maryland since 12-30-13. Since then, they have called me 26 times. I have never called them or expressed any interest in them or their services. I live in Texas. I have over 20 voice mails recorded on my phone, mostly from a Sales rep by the name of [redacted]. On February 3, 2014 when [redacted] called me at 9:32am, I told him I was not interested in their company and to stop calling me because I felt 20 plus voice mails even exceeds harassment standards. Since then, I received 4 more calls from their company. I received 2 calls on 2-11-14, one at 9:01am, the other at 9:02am back to back. The 3rd call I received on 2-12-14 at 9:07am and AGAIN I asked them to stop calling me. They called me for the 4th time today, 2-17-14, at 10:31am. I feel they are harassing me and I am willing to press charges against them for continuing to call me after I told them not to. Please stop their overly aggressive harassment.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay a fine for each violation after I told them to stop calling me. I would also like a written apology and reason they felt it necessary to continue calling me after I told them to stop. I need them never to call me again.

2. Misspelling my name as "[redacted]" It is [redacted]. After 20+unsolicited calls and close to10 pieces of mail from Stone Street Capital, LLC which spells my name correctly, I find it insulting that the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, [redacted], doesn't have the attention to detail to spell my name correctly and he responded with such a shoddy, unprofessional, impersonal letter, maybe a testament to the services his business offers?

Review: In May of 2013 my husband and myself contacted Stone Street because we wanted to sell some of his annuity for some unforeseen circumstances. The first offer we got was sub-par and we decided to shop around. After much back and forth and non-stop phone calls from Stone Street we entered into a contract. After that the phone calls all about stopped and not many answers could be given as to when we would receive our funds. Our court date at the end of June came and gone with paper work still not complete. I asked why was this important paperwork not submitted before the court date and why are we resending the same information? The answer we got was that some paper work was misplaced or we are doing our best to get your funds to you asap. When I asked? They could not give me a date and told me it could take up to a week. My husband and I have done this type of transaction before with other companies even Stone Street years ago and never had to wait a week after court date for funds or still signing paperwork. I wonder why such tenacity was given before signing the contract, but little to none was given to the process after. When we asked the young man that was handling our case why does he need the same information over again we were told it was misplaced. Two hours later we called to see if he found them and was told no, he wasn't even looking for them because he was busy. The next day he requested the same information again. All this after the court date, still with no clear date as to when we will have funds. We are still submitting paperwork and waiting on funds.Desired Settlement: We would like for Stone Street Capital to fully explain why this particular transaction is taking so long. When people contact them it's usually due to the urgent and immediate need for funds. When such time consuming delays, especially ones that could have been avoided, Stone Street has added undue stress into an already financial binding situation.

Review: Stone Street Capital has contacted me on several occasions regarding selling or borrowing against my annuity. I have advised each time that I am not interested. After 8 months of advising them of my disinterest they sent me a letter to indicate that another financial services company, [redacted], has placed a lien on my annuity. When contacting Stone Street Capital to find out the details of the letter I was met with hostility. The Stone Street Representative advised that [redacted] does in fact have a lien. I asked that Stone Street stop harassing me and I wish no further contact from them.

I called [redacted] and spoke with a representative, [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] advised that [redacted] does not have a lien on my annuity and that other companies send these letters to scare people into doing business with them. Review: Back in 2001 my mom [redacted] who has passed in 2010 won a large sum of money from the NY State Lottery, and I as the the daughter have complete control of all my moms assets.I do understand the nature of their business is trying to buy the winnings and at that point they would settle the winnings and they would make a profit. The phone calls and mailings are beyond annoying.in fact when I have spoken to several people to stop calling they had the nerve to ask what I did with the money and why I don"t want to have any business dealings with them which I feel they should not ask as those are personal questions. From 2011 they have not stopped calling and writing by sending large checks for me to cash with a low interest which would come from the lottery winnings.

I am at my wits end and I am hoping that the letters and phone calls will stop.Desired Settlement: I just want them to stop annoying me and if I was to do business with such a firm STONE STREET CAPITAL would be my last choice as I feel they are just vultures and will not accept the fact that I want NO BUSINESS DEALINGS with them. I think they should respect my wishes and if we did not use their offer in all this time all this harassment will not get me to work with their company.

Review: State Street Capital has refused to stop mailings and phone calls trying to solicit their services. Their behavior on the telephone is inappriate when they call.

Review: I've called this company at least 3 times to have our name removed from mailings. They stop for 4 - 6 months and they we get the mailings again. Now we are getting phone calls and I've called to have that stopped as well. The people I speak with are RUDE.Desired Settlement: I never want to hear from these people again! I want them to have to comply with my requests to not receive further mailings and phone calls!

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I will keep this letter on file. It will be interesting to see if we end up on the phone/mailing list again. Past calls to Stonestreet explain some kind of "software glitch/malfunction" that puts our name back into the system.
