They said verbally and in writing that they would negotiate a settlement in 6-9 months. It's been over 13 months. Their responses are unhelpful.
I was told by Stonepoint that they would negotiate a settlement for me in 6-9 months. I signed with them on June 25, 2018 and they began withdrawing $848/month from my bank. At 9 months I emailed to ask when I would have a settlement, and the email I got in response said, in 6-9 months. I wrote back, I know, that's why I'm writing, it's been 9 months. Eventually I was told that my debt was too high, so it would be 9-12 months. I was very upset, as I had signed based on 6-9 months. I asked several things: how much should I have been paying each month for them to have been able to fulfil their 6-9 month agreement, if I give them an additional $2000 now, would that be enough to negotiate a settlement; I also said to refund/add to my settlement reserve three months of their fees for the three months they misrepresented to me. It's now been almost 13 months, and I have had no settlement and nothing but frustrating, non-sequitor communication from them. Regarding the crediting of my three months, a rep told me they can't do that at this stage, but maybe after our contract is over, because otherwise everyone would be asking for credits and refunds(?!). The reps are generally polite and patient, but say they have to get back to me, and the weeks and months keep going by, during which time any responses I manage to get do not address my questions and concerns. On July 10 I recieved via email a contract to make an additional payment of $49873.19. I guess my suggestion of $2000 was a little low! Perhaps this is the amount to settle my debts once and for all, it's not clear due to language such as "each month until further notice". It doesn't matter, because, surprise! I don't have $49873.19 lying around. If I did, I'm sure I wouldn't have needed them in the first place. I have three credit cards with *** which I used to invest in a scam, and I made the decision to restructure that debt with ***. It is around $75k, less than $100k I'm not sure the exact amount. Whatever is doable with that debt, should have been explained correctly so that I could make an informed choice. They told me 6-9 months for settlement and my credit would be 80-90% restored in two years, while I made payments to Stonepoint for four years. At 13 months with no settlement, how is my credit going to be restored? My credit has tanked, and I see no help from Stonepoint. I can't get a loan for a new roof, my life is on hold in critical ways, due to wasting time and money on their false promises. I can get no intelligent response from Stonepoint.

Desired Outcome

At this point I would like 100% refund. As far as I'm concerned, they owe me for damages as well, but I would settle for 100% refund. I will do my own negotiating with my creditor.

We have resolved this matter to the clients satisfaction

Stone Point Legal Group took my their fees and didn't represent me in court, twice!
I signed on with SPLG over a year ago. I was told they would negotiate a debt settlement that would fit my budget. I was also told that all interest would stop. I have paid them $805.00 a month for over a year and I have been recently sued (and lost) because no one showed up to court to defend me. (TWICE)
I had to do all the legal paperwork myself in getting the court dates extended. No one at SPLG would tell me what to do when filing such documents with the courts.

I have called 50+ times trying to get someone to explain to me why they let my creditors sue me and not pay my bills with the money I was paying them?

Instead they let all of them go into collections and now I've been sued. It was then passed off to *** and they too never appeared in my behalf.

I have been on the phone and I am getting ZERO help because "they are not attorneys" and cant advise me on what to do!!

Desired Outcome

I want FULL return of ALL the money I paid to Stone Point Legal Group, less what has been paid to my creditors. I would also like any and ALL files and agreements in place so I can take care of them myself.

I have been in contact with a SPLG representative and we are still trying to work out "fixing" the issues with the handling of my accounts.

I'm still waiting for answers to the questions I had/ have on the accounts handed to them to manage.

I wish to continue this complaint for 2-4 more weeks to give them enough time to settle the ongoing lawsuit with the "***" account and the second lawsuit that was just filed.

If I agree at this time it will cost me more to retain a personal lawyer than what I was offered as a "refund".

This has been settled with an agreeable out come.
Thank you for helping me with this dispute, Stone Point Legal Group saw there was a problem and corrected it and let me out of the contract.

Was with the company for 8 months and they failed to resolve a single debt in that time.
I expected them to begin resolving debts in a timely manner, at least after six months. Was with the company since October 2018 and my first credit card was not settled. I cancelled their services expecting most of the money I invested retunedr. I only received 1/4 of my money back. I then found out they were taking their entire fees first before settling any debts. They took all my money for their services without accomplishing anything. I understand that fees would be involved, but I didn't expect then to take only their fees before providing any services. All they did was collect my money and used it for themselves without doing anything on my behalf. I could have put my money in the bank and got the same result.

Desired Outcome

The rest of my money refunded as no services were provided.

Settlement received

We woke up this morning with everything gone from our savings and checking account. We were told that we were safe and there was no way this could happen to us. It's Easter weekend and we have nothing to celebrate with, kids that still need fed. It is breaking my heart and I have never felt so helpless.
