Student Loan Financial Assistance Reviews (%countItem)

I was recently scammed by this company. They led me into believing they were a consolidation company associated with the US Department of Education. I believed them because they assured me that they were here to help gather my multiple loans together and create a plan to pay them off at once instead of separately. When I called the US department of Education I discovered that zero amount of the $500 I had paid to SLFA was accredited to my student loans. I felt very betrayed and lied to. On a different occasion I had received notification that my financial aid account had been used by an unauthorized user shortly after that. They will take your information and use it to collect personal data about you. It is a complete violation of privacy and the company needs to stop manipulating students into believing their services are helping relieve their debt. They will try to present themselves as the victim by stating they are not affiliated with the US Department of Education, and are concerned with helping students relieve their debt, while the US department of education is out to scam you of more money. When I questioned their credentials, and confronted them that the US Department of Education had advised me to not work with them since none of the funds I had paid SLFA had gone toward my balance, they responded that the US Department of Education is trying to get more money from me and that they were the ones trying to scam me. After realizing this they have continually tried to call me over and over for my next payment, when I answer I hear suspicious background noise, very low quality sound. This company is composed of a crew of fraudulent “employees” who are trained to manipulate students. BEWARE and do NOT believe their website

I think this company is a total fraud and they force you into things you don't want to do

On 3/16/2020 I received a from a voice message from a person by name of Patty S. Regarding my student loan. When I returned the call the same day, I was under the impression that it was my current student loan. After speaking to a CSR from that company The verification department was suppose to verified all my information and get a verbal confirmation from me to continue the process with the verification. Since the verification dept was not available at the moment, they said they would call me back. While I waited for a call back, I looked up the company to verified if it was my actual student loan company and seen all the bad reviews from other consumers that had issues with the company. When they finally called me back, I did not answers their call, I then get a text message from that company saying they are unable to verified my information and were unable to continue with the process of my application, which I then figured they wouldn't debt my account. On 4/8/2020 I see that my account was debt $200, I called them and I advice them on the reason why I did not wanted to continue on doing business with them and to refund my money back to my account. The CSR confirm they would refund a portion of the money and it would take 2 to 5 business day. I called back on 4/16/2020 to ask them what happen to my refund, the guy that answer by the name of Jerry, said my request has not been approved yet and it would take longer then what was originally said to me. So I advice him that I would call my bank to get a full refund back...his comment back to me was "Good luck with that" and hung up. This company does not want to help you fix your student loan, they just want your money.

Trusted them to get me set up on a lower payment plan. They said that they would work with the department of education. Started in November my service had sent me a bill for over $500. Which is why I reached out to them. After I paid $391, 3 times total $1173 I was unable to reach them for several weeks. Received another bill from my servicer for over $500. Closed my bank account, because even my bank thought it was a scam since they also could not reach them. did my own application with department of education. When I was finally able to get ahold of them I got told different things from several different people. They refused to give me my $ back since I had to do my application and do my own work I explained that I felt like their service was a lie. They refused to give me any money back. Bank did a charge back and was about to get one of my $391 payments back. Still out $782 for them basically doing nothing in the end. Very disappointed and feel like this is all a scam and a lie. They did do the follow through and did not finish what the money was supposed to go towards in the first place. Have probably 10 different numbers provided to me to call and over half say no longer in service. Just want the rest of my refund. They dropped the ball, didnt finalize anything. Didn't get what I had agreed to accomplished. When I couldnt reach them, they stated that they are also effected with Covid 19, which I understand but no follow through? Website was never update. Had one of them say that our website isn't always reliable? Never disappointed, I did try to work with them, but they said they did the work. I dont see how they did when my payment went back to what it was before it I asked for their service.

To whom it may immediately concern, all complaints made against SLFA are reviewed with a commitment to honesty and fairness. For this matter, an error made by Fedloan resulted in client's entry into an IDR plan before her loans were consolidated. Client requested to cancel before this was resolved and was offered a partial refund due to the administrative error on the part of Fedloan to relieve any issues this has caused for client. Client insisted on cancelling despite SLFA providing services as agreed. Instead of awaiting refund, the client requested their bank charge back the payment.

Mr. Robert M was pressuring me to purchase the services that the company offers and I informed him that although I am interested in the program I would rather wait until a later date to purchase. I asked to bookmark the process and he told me he didn't understand why I was procrastinating so I reiterated my stance and then the call was lost dropped etc. I assumed that M was upset and had termed the call which was fine by me. I later received a threatening email from M stating that he couldn't believe I had just done that after all he has done for me. He also threatened me that I would never receive any help from this company in the future.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have suspended his involvement in your matter and have sent him to be reviewed for disciplinary action. His email to you was inappropriate and unprofessional. Please disregard his statements. Another representative will reach out to you to discuss your options. Again, his actions do not meet our expectations and standards for our employees. Should our comprehensive review process reveal he has acted inappropriately by violating our professional standards, he will be subject to disciplinary action including suspension or up to full termination.

Customer Response • Mar 20, 2020

I will be satisfied after the employee is terminated. If he did that to me, imagine what he is/has been doing to other people. The resolution stated IF it is determined that he went against your company's standards THEN he would be subject to disciplinary action. But the sentence before states that he DID go against your standards, so I do not understand the resolution and therefore I am NOT satisfied with it. Furthermore, a person so spiteful, is unsafe for others and your company being that he is unpredictable. I don't feel safe with him having access to my NPI. I'm sure he has been notified of my complaint and if so he is most likely angry. I apologize if I am placing too much of a burden on anyone but your agent was the opposite of what customer service should be.

Student Loan Financial Assistance Response • Mar 20, 2020

It is our policy to handle allegations of misconduct to standards of thoroughness and fairness which is why it was stated that way. Another on our staff reached out to you to address your concerns. The investigation was initiated as soon the issue was made aware to us. And to let you know, the employee is terminated effective today. I apologize for the unacceptable behavior of this person and thank you for calling it to our attention.

In February 2020 I contacted this company and spoke to Austen K who walked me through the process of signing up with his company for student loan repayments. I am 71 years old and I don,t think I understood everything or It was presented in a way that seemed advantageous to me. I specially asked if the company was Revdex.com approved and was told it was. The company I was with contacted me today to see how I was doing. I was astounded to find SLFA was not a reputable company, they had put my payments on forbearance while taking out their money. They were suppose to contact the former company SLAC and let them know what was going on. I am very upset about this. I have restarted my program with SLAC and Great Lakes. I have also sent a message to SLFA telling them of the situation as I was given phone numbers that were not in service and another number that was too busy to answer. actually the response was stop talking to end the call. Tomorrow I will call my bank to stop payments.

To whom it may immediately concern, SLFA reviews these matters with commitment to fairness and honesty. After reviewing your call, there was no claim of any special relationship with Revdex.com or a claim of accreditation. The other company you mention is Revdex.com accredited and the confusion there may have been a mix up between calls since you have been working with multiple student loan services. The loan assistant you worked here with is no longer on staff. Based on recorded calls and correspondence with you, we never discussed Revdex.com. Also, from your file it looks like you never complied with requests for an updated proof of income. We offer you a full refund and cancellation of services despite this. Please respond to our email confirming your cancellation and the best address to receive your refund check. Take care.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I started the loan forgiveness program in September. In October, November and December I paid $204.00 each month to have my loan payment reduced. The only thing this company did was submit a forbearance in my name, which was not needed at the time. On February 12, 2020 I contacted them regarding this program because I had not heard anything and my first payment was due on February 8, 2020 so it was late. I spoke with Christian C (*** ex ***) who submitted another forbearance request and advised that the process would be completed shortly. On March 12, 2020 - I had not heard anything from them and attempted to call numerous times to cancel my account with this company and received a refund. After speaking with 2 people, who did not offer then names, the call was disconnected, when I called back it was determined that they blocked my phone number. On March 13, 2020 I used my mother's cell phone and was able to reach them. I submitted a request for the refund again, and was told I would hear back by Monday, March 16, 2020. I waited a day and have not heard back from them and my phone number is still blocked.

Customer Response • Mar 18, 2020

There is no way this could have gone through a review this quickly. The company has never contacted me in regards to the account- I always had to contact them and I continue to get the run around as recently as last night when I was told it should have called earlier in the day.’ To date NO ONE has responded to my voicemail messages

Student Loan Financial Assistance Response • Mar 19, 2020

Client has confirmed correct address for refund after request to cancel was processed. The initial stages of process were completed but there were issues with communication from our staff. Various training and process improvements have been occurring. We are taking steps to improve communication with our clients and ensure process deadlines are met and communicated. We apologize for any recent issues due to reduced staff. Their refund check should arrive to them in 7 - 10 days.

I was contacted in approximately November to lower my student loan payments from $635 to $214 with stipulations (payments for 3 months of $238 and then $10 to the company and $214 to the loans). I was given a log-in and password to set up my account THAT NEVER WORKED. When I tried to contact the company, at first they sent me the EXACT SAME username and password. When I tried to call the company to cancel the payment plan I was on, they haven't responded or called me back. I have been unable to speak to a representative in order to cancel the plan. Meanwhile I am still paying $10 a month to a company that is a SCAM. This "company" did NOT follow through on their word to "lower my monthly student loan payments".

We have reached out to the client by email and are obtaining confirmation of the cancellation request and will follow through based on the outcome. There are no irregularities in the file that suggest any failure on our part to execute services based on our trust agreement with the client.

In Oct. 2019 SLFA contacted me, out of the blue. I gave them all the info they asked for to consolidate my graduate student loans and to repay them through Pay As You Earn, an income-based plan to be re-evaluated annually. I first had to pay SLFA three payments of $249.00 to finish the processing. Over the phone, they said this processing would make it so they'd pay off the balance to OSLA, the loan servicer I had when SLFA called me in Oct. 2019. An email they sent me on Oct. 23, 2019 said "You wont need to make any payments to your current servicer while your repayment terms are being reconstructed."

SLFA removed payments of $249 from my personal checking account on Nov. 25, 2019, and Dec. 24, 2019. I contacted them on Dec. 24 asking what was going on; I had mistaken the terms and thought they were taking out too many payments. They never replied to that email. Since Dec. 24, 2019, OSLA has been contacting me with past due notices. SLFA has called me about other matters since then, something vague about action being needed on my part. I spoke to a human on Feb. 18, 2020. That person said my account was caught up and no action was needed. I told them I was getting messages from OSLA about an overdue balance. The rep said SLFA had paid OSLA and that I didn't need to worry about it. After receiving another email from OSLA on March 12, I've called the number on SLFA's website 4 times. An automated message about how good their plan is plays over and over again, but no one comes to the phone. No one replies to email. No one replies to the online contact form. I have checked my spam folder, and nothing is there. I received another past due email from OSLA on March 16, so I decided to contact the Revdex.com.

To whom it may immediately concern, we have reached out to this client to answer their questions and provide a refund pending confirmation of service cancellation. Our internal review has revealed documents requested from client were never received.

Customer Response • Mar 18, 2020

Attached are emails showing that SLFA contacted me on 10/22/2019 to request proof of income and that they acknowledged receipt of said documents on 10/28/2019. Attached also is the email I received from them today stating their lie that "valid proof of income" was never received. If it was invalid, it was on them to contact me. I have also tried repeatedly to contact them "to sort this out."

The customer is correct that an auto-generated email confirmed her POI. I have emailed explaining the processing issue and offered to continue service if she provides updated documents. The auto-email is being addressed. The client is being offered a full refund if she would not like to continue with the service but I will need a response from her to validate the correct receipt address. If she wishes to continue we will flag her file as a priority and ensure all docs needed are requested and processed once she updates. I sent the client the accurate client agreement for her reference and offered to provide any necessary documents she may need.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by Student Loan Financial Assistance in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. The business has asked for confirmation of my mailing address to issue me a full refund of $498. My mailing address is as follows:

***

***

***

***

I will wait for the business to issue my refund, and once I receive a full refund of $498, I will consider this complaint resolved. I must RECEIVE this refund before I consider the complaint resolved. An electronic funds transfer back to the account from which SLFA received the money is preferred as it would provide more assurance than a physical check. If a physical check is necessary, please send it such that its delivery can be tracked.

This company stated they are affiliated with DOE when making calls to customers. When I asked probing questions, the rep took my call told me that Revdex.com has only lies against them. I said that we could clear it up with call to DOE to resolve since she kept saying their business was affiliated with..then the rep changed her tune and said they wouldn't be in this type of business if DOE didn't "condone" their activities and allow them to do their type of work.
I advised them they had numerous complaints on alot of sites, including Revdex.com. That is when the rep from this company said since I "didn't" want "help" then she had to go then she hung up.
This company is not legit!! SCAMMERS is what they are .

I would recommend doing your research before you start officially doing business with them. I started working with a guy named Omar feb 11th a week later after second thought I canceled feb 20th.. he began to ignore my calls. I was transferred to cancel my account, after all day of run around phone calls, and was told that I would get a full refund 7-10 business days along with an cancelation email. After 7-10 days came and went I called in again and eventually got Josh C! He is amazing!!! He actually took and returned my phone calls, was giving me truthful information and very professional. He informed me that because I paid a larger amount they would split it and I would receive two checks by the end of the month. There was a slight delay in getting that information so I did file a charge back with my bank, afraid I wouldn't get my money, but they were about to send them out. For those who are curious everything told to me about services provided reflected also in my contract. I had access to my profile so I could monitor the progress and I know they were legit because my loan was reflecting what was being told/in my contract. Truthfully they only seem to get frustrating when you want a refund.. that's when run arounds started. I would say if your told 7-10 business days it's most likely actually around 21 days. Ask for Josh Josh Josh!!! I do not believe they are a scam I think people misunderstand or had a poor representative.

I was advised that I was in a program and they already took my money for my account. I contacted Department of Education and they told me this company was misleading me because loan forgiveness can only be done by Department of Education and it does not take the 6 months to get consolidated and to get everything squared away. I keep trying to call and only get people who do not speak good english or a voice machine. I would like to get my money back because I am not paying anything toward my actual loans. I am working with the Department of Education for free.

I want a phone call and to be refunded the money I spent. I am working with DOE only from now on. I still haven't received a phone call back.

Student Loan Financial Assistance Response • Mar 05, 2020

We have attempted to reach you twice today. Please contact us because we need to validate your mailing address to send you a refund check. Thank you.

SCAM! SLFA misrepresents itself on the phone, leading Fed student loan holders to believe they're affiliated with the DOE and must use them to consolidate. They took my money and did not provide the services promised. They so messed up my account that the DOE still has my account on hold 4 months later while they try to fix SLFA's many errors. They almost cost me all my loan forgiveness time, saved only because the DOE alerted me. DOE and the Attorney General says Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) posted a consumer advisory about student loan debt relief at www.consumerfinance.gov/about-us/blog/consumer-advisory-student-loan-debt-relief... They suggested I file complaints against SLFA and consider bringing a civil action through the courts for damages, attorney’s fees and court costs under my state's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. I will not stop until SLFA issues a full refund for money I paid for services not rendered. That is not only Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices but is also BREACH OF CONTRACT.

Student Loan Financial Assistance Response • Mar 03, 2020

That advisory linked from 2014 does not apply to our company, but rather predatory companies that are dishonest about the services they offer. These two companies lied about their connections to the government and engaged in other unethical behavior. We stand against those companies.

We informed you at various points that we are not affiliated with DOE nor do we meet any criteria outlined in that link you posted that makes us in any way like those awful companies. On the trust agreement, above your signature, it clearly states we are a private company. We help customers identify possible programs offered to the public, we claim no special relationship with DOE. You opted to hire us instead of attempting to execute the process alone. Please refer to your trust agreement. You have been given every opportunity to understand the services offered. You continue to harass our staff in your calls to us and prevent us from serving you because you hang up on our representatives before they are ever able to communicate. We have issued a full refund despite completing the services for which we were hired. Please let us know if you have any concerns by calling customer service or if you do not receive your refund check within 7-10 days. See your e-mail for refund and cancellation confirmation.

Fast and easy to work with! Helped me and my wife!

I would like to thank Josh C for all of his help and knowledge. Thank you for thoroughly explaining my payment arrangement and taking the time explaining the details of my payment options. The phone call I had today with Josh and the representative before him (don't remember his name I'm sorry) was by far the best customer experience I've had with this company. I appreciate the transparency and the great customer service. Thank you again!

Kauai was not only very professional but extremely helpful and understanding. He made what could have been a difficult conversation into one that was enjoyable. A real top notch employee.

To whom it may concern, we would like to acknowledge, all complaints brought against SLFA are reviewed with a moral commitment to fairness. *** signed up with SLFA for assistance with completing applications related to student loans. By doing so *** agreed to the payments for Company’s services relating to the student loan assistance applications, their preparation, delivery and ongoing support. ***’s applications are being currently worked on as promised. All quoted figures are projected via an online calculator specific to student loan repayment based on provided income and family size information. This is the first time we are being notified of a full refund request. We would be able to honor a refund now that we are aware it is being requested. Please reach out to our Customer Support team to discuss your account.

On 10/16/19 Student Loan Financial Assistance LLC (SLFA) left me a voicemail, they had important info about my student loans and I must call back. Worried I called and was told they could consolidate my loans not under loan forgiveness & lower my monthly payment w/o loss of any loan forgiveness time. They represented that they were affiliated with the Dept. of Ed (DOE), which I believed as they had access to all my records. I would have to pay $202 a month for 4 moths for DOE to process the consolidation. They pressured me to agree to terms but the pw they gave me to their portal did not work so I don't believe I ever agreed to anything. I paid them $202 a month, thought I was paying it to DOE, no choice if I wanted to consolidate. I sent them requested documents, on 10/30/19 got verification of receipt. They put me in forebearance for 2 months to give DOE time to process paperwork. In 12/19 I called re status. No news, DOE was still processing paperwork. This time they said I could consolidate all my loans without losing forgiveness time. They put me on another 2 months of forbearance, concerning but they said it would not matter. On 12/31/19 and on 1/9/20 Helen G of SLFA emailed me asking for docs I had already submitted. In 1/20 I got a letter from DOE cautioning that if I consolidated all my loans I would lose all my forgiveness time. I called SLFA. Nelly promised to correct my account, remove loans under loan forgiveness and call me on 2/10 with an update. She never called. I asked her to verify affiliation with DOE and she said they were a 3rd party private company. I'd paid them $606 by then. On 2/13/20 I spoke with Terry from DOE who said my account was still in review as they only received paperwork from SLFA in 1/20. He said SLFA moved me from the standard income-based repayment plan to another plan and I'd have to pay $88 to move back.

To whom it may immediately concern, let us start by acknowledging, any complaints brought against SLFA are reviewed with dedication and commitment to being fair and honorable. Our intention with this response is to aid in bringing this complaint to a fair resolution for all parties.Ms. has been a client of ours since mid October, 2019. We have kept in constant communication with her regarding her student loans. Multiple requests for documents needed from her were sent and weren’t received until October 31st, 2019. We were able to submit her application once her requested documents were received. A few of Ms.’s loans were in a “graduated” program which does not offer “loan forgiveness” as stated in her complaint. Per Ms.s profession she was prequalified for a loan forgiveness repayment option that offered a lower monthly payment, shorter loan term as well as loan forgiveness at the end of her loan term. She called in to express concern in consolidating all her loans into one and a solution was found and explained to Ms. on January 27, 2020. All signed documents by Ms. states where her $202/ month payments were being allocated to. The information she received from “Terry” was incorrect as Ms. was not enrolled into a “Standard Income-based repayment” as stated above. Furthermore, any employee misrepresenting our company as Ms. has claimed we’re guilty of would have been caught and terminated immediately as all calls are monitored and sent through compliance to avoid misrepresentation. On no recordings during her conversations with our representatives is there proof of misrepresentation. This is the first time we are being notified of a full refund request. We would be able to honor a refund now that we are aware it is being requested. However, all work promised has been completed on our end. We will have a representative reach out to Ms. for a resolution.

Customer Response • Feb 24, 2020

I accept only full refund of $606 I paid SLFA plus $88.97 to get back on original income-based plan. Also, SFLA said they would contact me re my complaint but they haven’t. SLFA’s response is inaccurate. “..,any employee misrepresenting our company as Ms. has claimed we’re guilty of would have been caught and terminated immediately…”: I got 2 unsolicited cold call voicemails from SLFA. Both reps said it was urgent I return the call as there are important changes from DOE. One rep said she was calling from the “processing department”, no company name, and she was “servicing my file”. DOE doesn’t give 3rd parties access to student loan files and I didn’t give SLFA permission. DOE told me this was a trick. The other rep said not returning the call immediately could affect my loan repayment options. “Multiple requests for documents needed from her were sent and weren’t received until October 31st, 2019.” I emailed SLFA both requested docs by 10/24/19, they never opened the emails. They asked for the same docs again on 10/24/19, 10/30/19, 10/31/19. Multiple requests for docs I already submitted.“We were able to submit her application once her requested documents were received.” The DOE received the application from SLFA in January 2020, even though I’d emailed SLFA all requested docs by 10/24/19. “…all work promised has been completed on our end.” Is a lie. Hours on the phone with DOE, my account is still not in order. DOE had to extend my forbearance to March while they fix SLFA’s errors. SLFA misrepresented itself as affiliated with the DOE, failed to do the work they promised, totally messed up my account, would have cost me my loan forgiveness if the DOE hadn’t alerted me.

Student Loan Financial Assistance Response • Feb 25, 2020

The trust agreement signed by *** on 10/16/2019 explicitly states that SLFA is a private company not affiliated with the government. She consented to all services and confirmed her understanding to us telephonically as well. She was made aware of the services offered, agreed to the terms, and received these services per our arrangement. SLFA submitted all relevant documents and followed through on the work promised. As *** states, pertaining to the phone calls she has received, no company information was given related to the calls she allegedly received. She cannot identify the party or parties calling. Any calls she may have received were not from SLFA. SLFA has no knowledge of these calls.

Customer Response • Feb 27, 2020

More SLFA lies. Below I identify the parties calling from SLFA.Original unsolicited cold call voicemail left by SFLA for me, a PROSPECTIVE customer, on 10/16/19: “Hi this is Rebecca J calling in from the processing department so sorry if you're busy um I just had some fantastic news it looks like there's been some significant changes to your federal student loan repayment options so if you could give me a call back as soon as possible today that would be great my direct phone number is *** again that is *** also if you could have your reference number ready that would be awesome your reference number is *** thank you I look forward to speaking with you…”Unsolicited cold call voicemail left by SLFA for me as PROSPECTIVE customer on 2/18/20:"Hello, this is David from Student Loan Financial Assistance. At SLFA we are committed to ensure that your program is in great standings. As we were servicing your file, we have some important updates from the Department of Education that need your immediate attention. If this is not addressed as soon as possible, this could affect your Federal Student Aid repayment options. To reach a representative, please call ***. Again, that’s ***…” Both phone #’s go directly to SLFA.I consented to services after SLFA misled me that they were calling from DOE. I did not receive services. SLFA lied to Revdex.com saying they submitted the app to DOE upon receipt of my docs in Oct 2019 but didn’t submit it until Jan 2020. Now in Feb 2020 DOE is still trying to fix SLFA’s errors, my account is still on hold. DOE can’t even calculate my monthly payment because of SLFA’s errors. The AG told me “Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau posted a consumer advisory: Student loan debt relief companies may cost you thousands of dollars and drive you further into debt. You may contact the CFPB to file a complaint…”SLFA has not contacted me re. my complaint despite lying to Revdex.com that they will.

Company made promises they could not keep. I want to make sure they no longer access my bank account or federal loan servicer. As well I want full refund of $576 monies paid for failed services. I was told on the phone that check would issued

Tell us whyTo whom it may concern, we would like to acknowledge, all complaints brought against SLFA are reviewed with a moral commitment to fairness. Ms. signed up with SLFA for assistance with completing applications related to student loans. By doing so Ms. agreed to the payments for Company’s services relating to the student loan assistance applications, their preparation, delivery and ongoing support. Ms.’s agreed upon payments initially failed due to billing issues on her end. During the time of experiencing non payment with Ms. we kept in constant contact with her to try and accommodate her. After submitting her first payment we began working on her applications as promised. There are specific documents our clients must submit including but not limited to, proof of income which she submitted well after her first payment. If these documents are not received in the time frame requested, it does hold up the submission of applications. Ms. called in to cancel after her second payment went through expressing she’d rather take care of her loans on her own. We issued a full refund in the amount of $384 on 2/11/20. Ms. only made two payments in the amount of $192 totaling payments at $384. A hard check in the amount of $384 is being mailed to her.

This company is a complete scam and much of their response was lies. Many months of wrong billing information on their part and I was the only party in constant contact by phone as well as email. Never once answered my email and when I called they assured me saying everything was fine for at least 2 months. After 3rd month of me calling they informed me billing was incorrect. I asked over and over why nobody called to correct this issue and they apologized saying they would if any further issues. The 3 payments went thru and after that I got a email asking for my income information which I emailed back immediately. Then two weeks later I hot a email saying that I canceled and they were sorry to see me go. This is a lie. I never sent a email anything like that. If fact I emailed back why was this canceled I didn't send a cancel request. No reply. So I called and was talked over top of, saying they could not help me because I was already enrolled in IDR with someone else. They already knew this from initial contact back in Aug. They said a full refund was already sent. I tried to get answers but the representative was rushing me off the phone or arguing with me when I asked why I wasn't called to tell me there was another program. And now my original loan is overdue. I got a letter from my original loan server and it was overdue amount. I called Nelnet and they told me several people have complained about companies such as slfa as being a scam and misleading people. I want my full refund not jus partial. I want the additional $192 refunded still outstanding

To whom it may immediately concern, let us start by acknowledging, any complaints brought against SLFA are reviewed with dedication and commitment to being fair and honorable. Our intention with this response is to aid in bringing this complaint to a fair resolution for all parties.Ms. only made two payments of $192 to our company. The first on January 10th, 2020 and the second on February 8th, 2020. If Ms. can provide proof (bank statement) that a third payment of $192 was deducted we will honor an additional refund of $192. After further research we did identify a typo that caused the “partial refund” shown on the screenshot. The total amount refunded should have been $384 vs the $348 refunded. An additional refund check of $36 dollars has been issued and should be received within 10 business days.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards

Do NOT do business with this company. You will get nothing with your Student Loans resolved, you will lose your hard earned money, and you will probably be treated like st when you call into their call center. There is no point in even trying to explain all the details of the hell I went through over the last 3 months with this company because no one at that company even cares to hear it. I know because I sent a complaint email that I was assured would be forwarded to a Supervisor, and no one followed up on it. I regret every minute of my dealings with them. I had been handling my own IDR Plan Requests to FedLoan on my own for 8 years, but they claimed they could get my payments lower than what I was currently making and so I paid them and trusted them to do so. But today, in short, after constant issues, mistakes, and misinformation on their part, FedLoan denied my IDR Plan Request for the first time EVER. Over the last 3 months, collectively, I have tried expressing my concerns, I have requested numerous times to speak with Supervisors, and I have tried to be patient and understanding as they claimed they were resolving my issues. Most of their Customer Service Reps are rude (Except Helen, she was nice.) Despite being given numerous phone extensions from numerous people (being led to believe I could call back in and directly speak to these specific people) I always have to call into the same phone number. A phone number that gives me no option to enter in an extension, but instead dials directly into their Sales center and I have to request to speak with Customer Service. So, I am done. I just spent the last 2 hours trying to talk to a Supervisor about my situation and to request service cancellation and refund; and I was placed on numerous lengthy holds, hung up on, and even laughed at. I finally spoke with Justin, who claims to have put in the cancelation, as well as a request to have the "cancelation department" call me tomorrow morning. I have no idea if this will happen; and if it doesn't, you can rest assured they will be getting more calls from me until I receive confirmation of said cancellation and refund. And because I now do not trust them at all, I have also put a stop payment on the auto-drafts they set up on my account. Don't do business with these people. Just don't. You deserve better.
