Student Zoom Reviews (52)

Review: I wanted some help with consolidating my student loan. I thought Student Zoom would be a solution to my enormous debt. They were very promising. They asked me for a processing fee of $199.00, I couldn't afford it at first but I was able to move some bills around and pay. Well then they ask for 167.00 dollars a month, at first this payment doesn't seem so much but it is. Well, Student Zoom kept taking double payments out and I had to continuously reach out to them for a refund. Now I want a full refund because I have been having so much problems with them taking double payments out of my account. Dan (the manager) called me today and told me that not only will I not receive a refund but I still owe them the rest of the balance. My application had been in processing since September and is not done yet, this company believes I still owe them money. From the conversation with my actual student loan place, they say I have a bunch of missing information. Yet I cant get a refund from Student Zoom for a half fast processing of my application? They are out here to get your money and then I was threatened that I will have to owe the remaining balance of 699.00 dollars. No one told me the 199.00 was not included in this bill. Please do not give them your money. They blindly get you.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my full money refunded immediately please. I also want an apology from this company not only for threatening to charge me and say my credit will be affected but I want an apology for humilating me.

Review: I hired this company to enter me into a student loan debt forgiveness program. They have been collecting money out of my account and have not sent any documents proving that I am in the program. I have made several attempts to contact them and was only able to communicate with someone once and that was months ago. I have left messages and with my info, but no one has ever called me back.Desired Settlement: I would like for the to refund all the money they have taken out of my account.

Review: I contacted student zoom on numerous occasions, over the course of a month because I wanted to cancel with them. No one returned my calls or emails until last Thursday and the man I spoke with said he would rectify the situation and call me back in 24 hours. I have heard nothing and its been 4 days. They have withdrawn from my account when I clearly stated I did not want to continue with their services. I just want my money back. they are scam artistsDesired Settlement: I just want my money that they stole!

This business is not a scam per say but I am infuriated with this business. I was calling my bank to make a loan payment and somehow got connected to this company. They told me it was going to end up being $500 overall to consolidate my loans (later I figured out I could have done this for free which the sales guy obviously failed to tell me). Anyway, they told me if I got my loans consolidated I would be paying less than I actually am now. The total cost for this "service" ended up costing me $700 instead of $500 like they initially told me. If you feel ok about taking advantage of students right out of college trying to pay their student loans while juggling an entry level work position, amongst paying other bills than you should work for student zoom. I am infuriated and would like my money back- or at least the $200 to make up the difference from $500 to $700.

Review: Received threats by phone and email stating I'm a dead beat. The email I received from a Mr. [redacted] states he will call my job everyday till the problem is resolved. He states he's calling his lawyer and turning over said contract to a collection agency. What happened was I have several Federal student loans I needed to consolidate. I called this business Student Zoom for information to start consolidating my loans. The Student Zoom has a service fee of $699 which I'm unable to afford at this moment. I did some research in the Revdex.com website and in one of the comments I read listed I can consolidate my own student loan as it wasn't too hard to do. The comment even specified getting rid of an unnecessary cost of a middle man. The comment also list the government website Studentloans.gov. I was encouraged and contacted a government representative and they informed me and helped me fill out my consolidation and forgiveness application. The 11 page application is complete and I consolidated my loans. This all happened on the same day I spoke with a Mr. [redacted] of Student Zoom. I had already sent him $99 dollars via my debit card. I tried calling him back for refund and to inform I no longer needed his service. No luck I tried for a week to get a hold of Mr.[redacted] of Student Zoom and no luck. Mr. [redacted] of Student Zoom returned my call at 7pm Eastern Time. He stated he had a flu and hasn't been at his office. When I told him what I was calling about he was upset. He insulted me and threaten me on an email he sent me which I saved. He also stated he was not refunding me my $99 dollars. He stated refunds are requested up to three days after a contract is written and that I could not break his contract. I explained to Mr. [redacted] I was not the one with the flu. He repeatedly threatened me and called me a dead beat cause of my student loan issue. Revdex.com if you want a forward of the email he sent me I saved it. The email states he's gonna call my job everyday. ThanksDesired Settlement: I would like Student Zoom refund my money and never to contact me again in any form. I'm being harrased. [redacted]

Good afternoon,

Review: I was originally scammed by this company that they'd help me with "loan forgiveness" but $600 later, I apparently just paid for a phone call that said "We can't help you while you're in school." Even though I had told the person that signed me up multiple times, repeatedly and with lots of emphasis, that I was still in school and I wasn't going to graduate for another year. Fully aware that they couldn't help me, they still tricked me into signing up for Student Zoom which I didn't really question, thinking it was part of Sallie Mae since that's who I had originally called and needed to take care of the issue with my loans while talking to a real person. After realizing it was a scam, I had decided I could accept being robbed and that I'd just be more careful. But now I'm getting recurring monthly bills directly from checking account of $20.00. I tried calling multiple times. The one time I was finally connected with someone they said it was for some service they offer but I don't use any services by them. They redirected my call which was once again directed to an answering machine where I left messages frequently trying to get someone to call me back. I even used a full day off from work to try to reach this company with no luck.Desired Settlement: I really want these services permanently and officially canceled, with a promise that they will not steal anymore money with me. If I could get the $20 (Charge accepted on 6/19/15) back, that would be wonderful, and if I could get a full refund for the initial payment ($599 accepted on 2/16/15), that would be beyond amazing, but the main focus is that I want to be assured I will never see another charge from this company ever again.

We have successfully resolved the complaint with Ms. [redacted] as of July 8, 2015.Ms. [redacted] enrolled with Student Zoom in February 2015 to file and process a federal student loan consolidation. We began processing her application the same month; however, her service had not been finalized as she had returned to school full-time. Ms. [redacted] expressed that she became frustrated when the $20 payment was drafted prior to the completion of her service. We have determined the $20 payment was drafted in error and have provided a refund. StudentZoom has maintained an excellent reputation by regularly engaging our clients for feedback. We appreciate how Ms. [redacted] brought her concern to our attention and provided feedback, and were happy to find a simple resolution. Ms. [redacted] was very understanding. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.I also want to write a personal thank you for your work to allow me to gain the communication I needed from the company. I know that it can't be easy to try to mediate two discontent parties so am very thankful that the Revdex.com exists to tackle this challenge.

Regards,

Review: I contacted student Zoom I was told by two representatives that I would receive loan forgiveness. I asked several times if it was a consolidation because they charged $500 and everything looked similar to a consolidation. After everything was completed I checked my great lakes account and it is only consolidated not forgiven. Whatever was written is not what I was told.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund I was very clear that I perform my own consolidations and for this company to have it noted on their Revdex.com accreditation if they are accredited.

Review: I had an interaction with an employee of Student Zoom during which time I gave my credit card number and CVV code. These numbers were sent in an agreement to my unsecure email address at which time it was easy to access my information, simply by choosing to "sign" my document on the secure Docusign site. I chose not to sign the agreement because I learned that this program is not a debt forgiveness company, but an independent company not affiliated with the government. I had no interactions with any other companies where I gave my credit card numbers. On Saturday Nov. 22, I was notified by Fraud Prevention Services that my credit card had been used on Nov. 21, in ways that were suspicious, so I blocked my card. On Monday, I spent a good part of the day at my bank where I filled out paperwork to block payment to companies that I did not order from.

I have no proof that someone from your company used my credit card, but the coincidence is hard to deny. Now all of my personal and vital information is of concern. I gave this employee all of my vital information!

I would have contacted this company personally, but can find no way to contact the owners, and the people who need to know that there is a *possibility* that their employees are using customer information for their own personal shopping. Hopefully, they won't use any of my other vital information. I have already spent enough time taking care of this incident.

Thank you, and I do hope it was not your people, but I really don't see how it could have been anyone else, and the methods of communications are so completely insecure, that I can't really come up with any other conclusion.

Another point of interest: my server for the email I use every day, would not accept emails from Student Zoom because they are tagged as sending too much spam. I had to use a gmail account to get the agreement and to communicate with the employee.Desired Settlement: I am just wanting someone to know what is happening. I could find no other contact information. The owners need to know, if they want to continue to have a company with integrity (although ,the vague answers I received and the promise of debt forgiveness, which was NOT a debt forgiveness, makes me question the integrity of the company anyway). Thank you for listening....

Review: I was called about refinancing my student loan. When I talked to the sales person on the phone they guaranteed me lower payments and they would be cut in half. After a hard decision I decided to go along with the offer of dropping my payments in half after I would have to pay out 3 installments of $200 dollars 3 months in a row. When I received my repayment plan I was told it was cut in half for 11 months only and then it would go up to more then what I was paying . I was never told about the length of the loan time and I am not happy since if I add the $ 600 on it would be the same amount as I was paying. I don't know how they can stay in business doing this practice. I want my loan to go back the way it was and my fees returned. I will be filing with the attorney generalDesired Settlement: I want my money back and the previous loan back and nothing to do with the new outfit.

Regards,

Review: I was struggling with student loans over the summer and I spoke with something from a third party agency, "student zoom."

My mom was going through the same thing and I thought we were involved in the same company but we were not.

There was a 699.00 dollar fee, than they charged me 20 dollars starting in august. I had the charges broken up so I have spent about 533 dollars thus far plus 1 month payment of 20 dollars.

They told me they would make my life easier and submit everything for me to a consolidation loan servicer.

I was in contact with one person for the majority of the time and than all of a sudden she disappeared and the contact information she gave me is no longer her name. I received paperwork from the new loan servicer, but nothing was submitted for them to give me a lower payment (a payment that student zoom promised). So I faxed over all of the information myself to my new loan servicer (fed loan service). I contacted Fed loan yesterday and they needed one more thing from me and I was very upset and asked them about third parties. They told me I should not be paying ESPECIALLY monthly to these people and to contact the Revdex.com.

Student zoom made my life harder and more stressful regarding my student loans and did not promise me the payment I would be paying for my student loans. Any contact person I was ever in contact with is no longer available and no one returned my emails or phone calls. I finally spoke with a rep last night very upset and crying and he was not very nice and told me I cannot cancel my contract. He did say he would have his supervisor call me, I am waiting for a call back (hopefully today!)

I put a block on my credit card though last night due to nervousness.

Right now, I am lost and so upset over this situationDesired Settlement: My desired outcome if for student zoom to please cancel my contract as well as refunding me back the money or at least the "enrollment" fee. I do not want any of this to eventually affect my credit and would just like to be free of student zoom.

Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today, I hope I was able to make things right and that at the end of the day what was set to be accomplished is accomplished.

Review: In June I was trying to contact Navient about my student loans. By accident I reached Student Zoom instead. I spoke to someone named [redacted] and told her why I was upset before She told me that I had not called Navient, but that they helped with student loan forgiveness and consolidation. She took all my information and said that I qualified under the new Obama plan for their program. I sent the information that she asked for and a payment of 99.00 was taken from my debit card. Since that time, an additional $640.00 has been taken out of my account. She was also suppose to notify Navient that they were taking over my account and tell them not to take anymore payments from my account. None of this has happened and now I am getting billed again from Navient who claims they have never been contacted by these people at all. Student zoom never contacts me to let me know the progress of my paperwork, When I call them, they act suprised, especially when I received two frantic emails saying that my payment was not received which I know it was, and when I called [redacted] who sent me the email, he acted surprised and said he would "get back to me". This is all they ever do, promise to "get back to me" and never do. I have resubmitted the same paperwork three times because they claim they never got it even though when I request a confirmation of receipt it was sent and still they asked for it again. This process has been going on since June. They have lied, do not follow through on their promises and have taken $739.00 from me for a service they have not provided. Now I am still having to pay back the original company that is also no good and I am left with nothing but stress and anxiety for being so dumb as to trust anyone to do what they claim. I would not want their services if they provided it for free and offered to pay off my loan themselves. They are thiefs and liars.Desired Settlement: I want every cent they have taken from me by the end of next week. They never came through with what they promised and I need that money back to pay the people who do hold my student loans. They got the money with no problems, so it should be no problem to direct deposit it back into my account. I hate to feel this way, but from now on, I will trust no one no matter who they are, but I do hope I can trust you to resolve this as quickly as possible. I called again about 15 minutes ago and got [redacted] from collections, he's the one who sent the emails about not being able to get my payment, I called my bank and yes, they did. He transferred me to another number and surprise, surprise all I got was a voice mail. I want my money back now.

Review: I was told by the company that my 24,000$ in student loans would be down to 10,000$ With 70$ payment for 7 years and then I would be done with my loans if I payed the 500$. I received no information in mail telling what was going on and the emails I received had one line that said everything was done. I spoke to ruth on the phone and she told me over a month ago she would be looking into it but I have not received anything from her. Spoke to fed loan tonight and they said student zoom was wrong and nothing on my account shows the promises they told me. They told me since I was a police officer I was eligible to have most my loans payed off so I payed the 500$. Did not receive any documentation showing anything and I still have 23,000 in loans.Desired Settlement: I get what I paid for. I paid 500$ for my loans to be paid off to 10,000 and to only have 70$ payments a month. They took my 500$ now keep your end of the deal.
