I was lied to when booking my move from Fl. to Ca. on 6 different issues by David, their Sales Rep.
Sales Representative:David
Reference # EXXXXXXX

#1 and my biggest concern was having a tractor trailer delivering my items. The large truck will not be able to get down the driveway. I was assured it would be picked up and delivered in a 24-26 foot truck. David said, "No One picks up or delivers in a tractor trailer anymore" I was notified by the Brokered drivers when they were at the gate to my house and YES they were in a tractor trailer. When I told them the situation they said it would be $250 more because they had to go rent a smaller truck. I had to leave work and pay a temp to cover my shift so I could get to a bank to get more money, hire a car and driver and meet the movers. It cost me an entire days pay which I need! I am on Social Security and supplement my income by washing dishes in a small Cafe

#2 David Assured me Sunrise Van Lines DOES NOT BROKER THEIR JOBS TO OTHER MOVING COMPANIES. Another lie. Blvd Movers delivered my items and said they were hired by Sunrise, they do not work for them.

#3 I was gauranteed delivery within a 21 day peridod, it took Twice as long, 40 days. In that time David would not call me back.

#4 David said he would always be there to take my calls in reg. to any aspect of the move. He stopped taking my calls when I tried to find out where my things were. I could not get anyone to help me. I only had 9 boxes and an heirloom armoir I wanted with me after my husband passed *** I was frantic when I could not get any answers. I also e-mailed, I got nothing.

#5 I was told I would have at least an hours notice for pick up and also delivery, both times I had no notice at all. I do not drive anymore so I had to call an Uber both times instead of a family member because there was NO time to waste, resulting in more extra charges on my side because David is a shameless liar and said anything to book my small move. He knew my situation and abused it.

#6 My contract was for a total of $1320.00. It wound up costing me $1825.00

Desired Outcome

It cost me an additional $525. I want to be reimbursed. I would like for David to be held accountable for his lies, but from what he said he and his family own the business so I assume they condone his behavior and encourage it to make a buck. Shame on them all.

A long distance move is never delivered in a box truck. The only way to keep moves affordable is to take it with other families going to the same area. I checked the recording, and you were never told it would go in a box truck. It clearly states in the contract that there would be a shuttle fee if a trailer can not safely get close enough to the house.

The norm is for us to deliver in our own equipment, but our west coast trailer had to go in for maintenance. So we had to contract a company to make the deliveries. I didn't want to delay the deliveries any further.

I know that at pick up you were called a number of times, because the driver could not find the storage yard you had your container in. And according to the driver who made the delivery, he called you as well. I'm sorry you feel you were taken advantage of, but I beg to differ. The delivery might have been delayed because of equipment issues, but that's why I paid another company to take it.

Check your recordings again and I left messages asking you numerous times what was going on, No response. In our original conversations about the Tractor Trailer you told me it would be delivered and picked up in a 26' truck. It Was picked up in the 26' and it Should Not have cost me because your equipment broke down. At the very least I should have been given the option to pay or wait. Check your recordings, I told you the time frame was not a problem, if I was kept in touch with so I knew my things were safe. I was told I would be given notice what day I would be getting my things picked up and delivered. I was Not! In both instances I was given less than 30 minutes notice. Either way I told you about my situation and you assured me I would be given notice. You also told me the first flight of stairs was free and than an additional cost for more than a flight. You never told me a flight is 7 steps! In any case the drivers and movers on both ends were exceptional.

Company never delivered my motorcycle and is giving me the run around and no answers as to where it is at
I hired this company for a long distance move of my belongings and my motorcycle on February 19, 2019 order number XXXXXXX. The movers delivered my belongings on March 2, 2019 without my motorcycle. When I call to inquire about my motorcycle I don't get any direct answers, Now when I call today I can't get through on the office phone and the person \I did get in contact with quickly told me I'll call you right back but I never received a call back. So far I have paid $1420.25 and have a balance due of $1320.00

Desired Outcome

I would like for my motorcycle to be delivered to me and a reduction in fee's because I was told that my property would be delivered within 10 days which was not a big problem being more than 10 daybut now its been 20 days and no answers as to when I will receive my shipment and no contact from the company

Sunrise Van Lines Response • Mar 11, 2019

Mr *** was advised that the motorcycle did not fit in the truck we had going north and we did not feel comfortable sending it that way. We relayed to Mr, *** that it is secure in our facility and we would be sending it with an auto transporter. At the time of this response Mr. motorcycle has been loaded on a carrier for delivery to PA.

First of all this is not the answer I was given yesterday when I talked to the company. Second it was the company's responsibility to make sure that there was from for my bike to come along with my belongings. There is no reason that my bike should be two weeks begins my property with the price that I paid for this service. I was also told that I would receive a call back yesterday which I've yet to receive letting me know when my bike was going to be transported. This is totally unacceptable business practices.

Customer Response • Mar 16, 2019

Document Attached***
I finally received my motorcycle a month later and they once again tried to scam me out of more money. They forced me to pay the bale in advance and hired another transporter to transport my motorcycle. They didn't pay the transporter when he picked the motorcycle up and had COD on the receipt as you can see in the picture. I told the driver that is not my responsibility and calls had to be made to get it straightened out. Also my television that I paid extra to be boxed came not in a box and was put in my new storage with nothing covering it. This company takes advantage of people and don't communicate with you until you call them. Or business practices to say the least

HORRIBLE! Great customer service until you commit to using them. Picked up our furniture on time, great workers to load truck... that is where the 'great' stopped'. Offered and I agreed to "free" one month storage, 10 days after they picked up our furniture they said they were on their way to deliver... nope... free storage was offered... so then? They brought the furniture back... to where? not sure. The week before the 30 free storage was up I called to request delivery...2 1/2 weeks later, lots of excuses, lies, no response, etc, my furniture arrived last night at 11:30pm. They did not have a record that I paid my deposit, luckily I had the proof (and I cancelled my credit card just in case).
Terrible customer service. The very least they should do is return phone calls AND be honest about where the furniture and/or movers are and if they are going to arrive as promised.

csipros.org
sorry again

Customer Response • Mar 05, 2019

I did find out about the storage in NJ, and have no issue with that. My issue with this company was when I called to request delivery I was told it would be on the truck and at my house between February 13th-18th, when I did not hear anything on the 18th I called and found out, no my furniture was not on any truck, nor was it going to be delivered. I was told the next weekend my furniture would be (feb22nd-24th).... again, I waited and heard nothing. Then I was told the furniture would be picked up in NJ on Monday the 25th, delivered by Wednesday the 27th. Again, I waited, again, no call, no truck. When I requested the drivers cell number so I could check on delivery he did answer he phone and clearly he was not on a truck nor was he in NJ. At that time I was told it would be there Thursday the 28th. No, no call, no truck. Yes, I called repeatedly. Sometimes the main office did answer my call but they had no idea when or where the truck was. I was told it would be there on Friday, March 1st.... no truck, no call. I got a call on Saturday, March 2nd, truck would be there today, nope, no truck. Sunday morning at 10:30am I did get a call they were in NJ and loading the truck. I live at best 6 hours away from NJ (In MA)... truck arrives at 11:30pm. My issue is if someone had been honest with me, told me "sorry I can not tell you when the truck will arrive" I would have not been so mad, or persistent with my phone calls. My advise to the Owner, office staff, and David the salesman- Don't promise what you can not deliver. Spend extra time to coordinate trucks and schedules so you do not disappoint people.

I have been waiting 2 1/2 weeks for delivery. I do not get phone calls regarding my furniture. I have texted and called the delivery people several times and do not get a response. at this point, I believe they may have stolen my furniture and are planning on selling it. I will be calling law-enforcement, as well as my attorney, if I do not receive my furniture within 24 hours.

Sunrise Van Lines Response • Mar 01, 2019

he is geting the delivery in 1/5 hours.
we have on oure contract 21 days for delivery to the E cost and we are not late
again we are sorry that it was more then a week

They owe us money for a late delivery per the contract. They broke part of the delivery and have not paid for it. T
We signed a contract with Sunrise Van Lines to move a dining room set across the country. The contract was signed on 8/28/18. The move was scheduled for 9/8/18 and they had 21 business days to move the set across the country. Per the contract: "This order includes a guranteed delivery window of 7-21 business days. In the event we delivery after the end of the 21 day window. The homeowner will be compensated $25.00 per day after the first 21 days."

The dining room set was 6 days late. It arrived on 10/17/18.

Additionally, the glass for the table tops was broken and they only want to refund approximately 10% of the cost to replace.

On another note, they only sent one delivery person and my son and I had to help unload the truck or we would not have been able to receive the furniture.

Desired Outcome

THis went to claims with a company called CSI. The mover tried to settle for a $100 total and did not even mention the late delivery compensation. I disputed the settlement but have come to the realization that this company has no intention to pay me back for the late delivery per the contract or pay for the broken glass.

Thank you

I do not accept the response from the business.

1) They owe us $25/day for late delivery per the terms of the contract for a total of $150. This was listed in the contract. Sunrise is only trying to pay us a portion of this.

2) The glass broke from negligence on their part and only having one mover in the truck. It was improperly shipped, stored and delivered. We want to be paid for the full value of the glass replacement.

Additional damage was done to the furniture due to improper storage and shipping but we were able to fix it ourselves at minimal cost. The glass has to be purchased and replaced.

Please be advised that the monies refunded to the credit card was for the delay in delivery. As far as the broken item, there is an insurance protocol in place to handle your claim. It is my understanding that the contact information for you to file a claim has been given to you. If you do not have it please give us a call.

Missing Heirloom Bookcases
Sunrise was to deliver on Saturday, February 2nd, an heirloom bookcase. We are on a single lane mountain road and had made arrangements to meet the van and transfer the bookcase onto a smaller truck. We were told that the driver would call w/a 2 hour window. No call.

Today is February 3rd and I cannot get a return call from Sunrise. I want to know the location of this bookcase as it is not something you can go into a store to purchase. It is a family heirloom.

We were assured by their salesperson, David, that the bookcase would arrive on February 2nd. David said that he was the owner's nephew and could guarantee this delivery date.

Reference #EXXXXXXX Payment method: Visa

Desired Outcome

Delivery of my bookcase in good condition.

Ron has been working diligently to take care of this for me.

I am very happy with his responsiveness and know that this will be taken care of.

Thank you!

My belongings have not been delivered and the company is no longer returning my calls.
An inexcusable situation has recently occurred with with Sunrise Van Lines, 14902 N 12th St, Lutz, FL 33549, beginning on December 9th when items were collected. I was told it would take 21 business day to receive my property. I have attempted to resolve this problem myself on the following occasions but my attempts have been unsuccessful.: December 27th, 2018 January 4th, 2019 January 7th, 2019 (three calls) January 8th, 2019 (five calls) On the 8th, I was told I would receive my property in 5 days. January 14th, 2019 (three calls) During this call I was told the truck broke down in Phoenix and given the phone number of the truck driver. He informed me that he had only picked up my property the prior week. January 16th, 2019 (no answer) Given my efforts to resolve these issues am hoping for your help. This problem has caused me a great deal of hardship. I might add that my family and friends who have observed what I have suffered are equally appalled at what has transpired as a result of your company's practices. I asked that I receive my belongings within 3 .business days. Given that I am located in Ventura I am sure that a truck can make the drive in a timely manner. In informed Sunrise Val Lines that if this is not resolved I expect an immediate and full refund of the $1022.15 paid so far by no later than two weeks from the date of their receiving my letter. In the meantime, I am pursuing my complaint with the appropriate state and federal agencies. Thank you for your time and consideration. -

Desired Outcome

Either finish the job in a timely manner (within 3 business days of their receiving my formal complaint letter) or issue a full refund and will wait for my items.

Sunrise Van Lines Response • Jan 23, 2019

The timeline that Ms. has suggested is correct. It was also brought to her attention that because of the holidays it could take longer. The unfortunate situation was the truck breaking down in Az. we have no control over that, and as soon as the truck was repaired it started working it's way to delivered her belongings. We are sorry for any difficulties she may have endured, but the circumstances of the delay were out of our control.

Customer Response • Jan 24, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Sunrise Van Lines didn't inform me that they use an external company to deliver my belongings, to begin with. They held on to my belongings for 30 days before loading the truck that was actually going to bring them to California. They picked up everything the morning of December 9th, 2018. The Holidays in between were 24th, 25th, 31st of December and 1st of January. Besides those 4 days, they had 26 other days to load the truck and drive it to California.

It is January 24th, 2019 and I am still waiting for them to arrive. It is not my problem if they are having issues with the companies and suppliers they work with, that is their issue to resolve. As a customer of Sunrise Van Lines, I shouldn't be the one dealing with this, especially having to call at least 9 times a day before they even pick up the phone and wait at least 2 days to get a call back with an update.

On Saturday January 19th I was told I was going to receive my belongings in 2 days, meaning Monday January 21st. It is January 24th and still waiting. On a side note, Phoenix is 8 hours away from California.

I'm being charged $4,200.00 instead I of the $2,600.00 on the contract. The contract reference #XXXXXX that was emailed to me on Nov 12,2018. Reference number that I could click on about before they pick up my household good and view contract.

The client supplied an inventory of the items that were to be moved, and was given a quote based on the inventory.

As is our policy, upon arrival at the home the foreman and the homeowner review the inventory that is to be moved. That inventory increased with additional furniture and boxes. A complete revised inventory was taken, given and discussed with the clients.

With the realization that they had more items, the client agreed to and signed all the paperwork. Agreeing to and acknowledging the increase in the inventory, and final cost of the move. At that point and not before, as is our policy their belongings were loaded on the truck. The claim that we loaded everything on the truck and then gave them the final cost is simply not true. If we had in fact loaded everything before giving them the final cost, why not just request we unload everything.

As a final note, the agreed upon second payment was not completely met, yet in our efforts to work with the client we still agreed to move their belongings.

Should you have any other questions, please feel free to call me.

Yaron M.

We had only the amount of items that we originally told Mr. Jack. 2 kings size bed with foot and head. Washer and dryer, about 6 end table, file cabinet, 2 chester and 1 dresser, microwave, bar, 4 tv's and about 40 boxes. He never asked was they large or small boxes or how tall was the head boards and foot boards. I'm going to lose my stuff because the company lied and I had to let them load my stuff because I had to leave Florida mive to El Paso Texas to start a nee job. There wasn't enough time for me to find another company. I want them to honor the original contract that for 2,600.00 they quoted. They trying to make us pay 4,200.00 with the 10% discount they gave my wife for being a government employer and 10% for me being a disabled veteran.

Sunrise Van Lines Response • Dec 21, 2018

It is obvious that you cannot support your earlier claims or my last suggestion to remedy this situation in a fair and honorable way. You also claimed that you are going to lose all your belongings, well your not. Come and get your things. Rent a truck, hire another company. I refuse to waste anymore time on your baseless and unsupported accusations, and expect this final option will bring this to a resolution. Please handle yourself accordingly, any continued attacks to my reputation will be handled in the courts.

Thank you,

We can support the original amount. Come get our stuff from where? Below is what their company emailed me today.

Your storage has exceeded the storage limit, and you will now start to incur storage fees at a rate of $350.00 per month. Please let us know what your intentions are, will you be sending the additional payment that was required at pick up and accept delivery with the final balance due, or coming to pick it up. Please let us know what you want to do to avoid the additional cost of storage from accumulating. Please handle yourself accordingly.

I recently booked Sunrise Van Lines to help me move. I was so pleased with their work, they were efficient, helpful, courteous and friendly. They went above and beyond on the day of the move, even assisting me with taking a larger item that I couldn't carry out to my trash. Before the move their customer service staff answered all of my questions. They have good rates too. If you're looking for great movers, check them out!

Thank you

Worst experience & customer Service ever! If I would have known the disruptive outcome I would have taken my business somewhere else. Never again
My belongings were picked up from Orlando, FL on July 6th, 2018 by Andrew from Sunrise Van Lines to be delivered to San Francisco, CA. At the beginning the communications were great with Jack L. the sales consultant. He would answer all my questions and would even call me right back. I was very explicit with him about needing everything to be delivered soon because I was going on a trip before the end of July and needed multiple items from my belongings. He repeatedly assured me that it would take from 7-15 days to be delivered but no more than 21 business days. I also asked him about the bad review I saw on their website from *** making a complaint because it took them over 45 days for a shipment from FL to CA, but Jack guaranteed me that the review was posted by the competition and again it wouldn't take longer than 21 business days (now I'm even questioning if the good reviews on their website are legitimate). On the pickup day they were late and didn't even care to notify me. I had to leave two paintings behind because Jack omitted to notify me that an insurance was needed for them to pack these, resulting in additional cost. Once everything was loaded, Andrew, the loader told me that everything was going to be loaded to another truck coming this way on that same weekend but that someone was going to call me back that day to give me more information. I did call Yaron the next day to verify what Andrew said because nobody called me back. He said that they were getting a truck but didn't know if Sunday was the day but for sure that week, so I told him to give me a call once it was loaded. A week went by and I didn't hear anything from them. I called him multiple times before he finally answered to tell me the truck was again delayed. He sounded upset for me calling him and asking him for an update. He told me that he has many customers and couldn't call all of them, so I told him that as a customer they needed to let me know if there would be any delays because I'm paying them for a service which is wasn't cheap and wasn't being delivered as agreed. Unfortunately, that didn't change anything because I have continued calling him constantly to get at least an update once a week which hasn't been much progress. On the week of 7/16/18 he told me that there was a truck coming the following week which I believe was to calm me down because he ends up not answering his phone at all that week. On the week of 7/27/18 he finally answered but told me that nothing was loaded because that truck had many stops before getting to San Francisco and they didn't want to risk it on damaging my stuff but that another truck was loading on that weekend. When I called them over the weekend, he said that the driver was still at Miami, but he would drive over to their warehouse in Tampa to pick up my belongings. They kept taunting me all week until finally on Friday 8/03/18 Yaron told me that truck was loaded on Wednesday 8/01/18 but they couldn't give an estimate on when the truck would be arriving. All this time I have been extremely patient with everything but Yaron attitude was unacceptable. I told him that it has been over four weeks since they have picked up my belonging from my sister's house and all this time they couldn't give me a straight answer to when it would be delivered, and Jack assured me that it wouldn't take more than 21 days. He responded with attituded that they weren't late because it wasn't yet 21 business days (which it should be on 8/06/18) and that he wasn't on Jack's ear to know what he told me. I told him that he was completely disrespectful to talk to a client like that and demanded to talk to his manager and he explained that it was Jack but he was currently at the hospital with his wife and couldn't call me back, so he refused to provide me the contact for another supervisor. I have been trying to get a hold of Jack for a while, leaving him voicemails and emails but no replies.

Desired Outcome

Even called the main number on their website, left messages but nobody else has called me back. Called them again last week but Yaron told me he was on vacation and Jack was still at the hospital. Monday, he told me that the truck was at Texas and heading to Los Angeles before coming to San Francisco. It's been two weeks since they loaded the truck, a total of 40 days (28 business days) since originally picked up everything from my sister's house. I had to buy multiple items here in SF to compensate for what I was supposed to get weeks ago. I have informed Yaron that I'll be going out of town next week and urgently needed get something from my belongings before I leave otherwise it would result in additional expenses for me. Today 8/15/18 he finally answered the phone but to tell me that the truck was still going to Texas, Arizona (now a new route added), Los Angeles and lastly to San Francisco but still nothing conclusive on ETA. It's absurd that I keep getting the same useless answer that it's on it way without an ETA. They keep taunting me with excuses and It's getting frustrating because I can't even track my shipment true location. My moving experience with Sunrise Van Lines have been extremely stressful with additional unforeseen expenses. I just hope that my belongings arrive with nothing broken, wet or damaged. I have already paid them a deposit of $200 plus half of the total contract and I also have paper trail of what it was said from the beginning. I need my belongings but hate the fact that they are taking advantage of the situation. I don't want this to happen to another person because it's stressful enough the idea of moving to be caught up with a company that is full of lies and still charges you for a service and a job not being accomplished as agreed.

Sunrise Van Lines Response • Aug 22, 2018

In response to Ms. complaint, let me start by saying it is not without merit, and an unfortunate situation. One that we are working on diligently to resolve. The truck broke down in Tucson, AZ., and after multiple attempts by a number of mechanics to repair the truck were unsuccessful, we had no other choice but to secure the belongings and the truck. We have brought our driver back and sending him with another truck so that he can finish the move. We know and understand that this unfortunate situation has not been easy on Ms., but also please know that it was not our intention to withhold or not deliver her belongings. We will be talking with Ms. to reach an equitable solution.

Customer Response • Aug 28, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I cannot accept their response because I don't think is a mere coincidence that conveniently the truck broke down exactly the weekend I gave them an ultimatum about getting my belonging before going out of town, otherwise it would result in additional expenses. I have been trying to get a hold of them since last week without any success. I'm getting tired of all their lies, especially when said they will contact me with updates and yet nothing is communicated, nobody has cared to let me know what's going on or respond to my email and calls. They have multiple excuses and no straight answers on when everything will be delivered. I urgently need my belonging because it is absurd for me to keep buying stuff that I already have just because they are holding up my belonging, which has also become a living challenge with all these expenses. Now I'm questioning if they are keeping everything cool down and dry to avoid heat damages to my furniture, electronics and other possessions. I'm requesting monetary compensation for the delay, inconvenience and having to buy new stuff but I also looking forward to getting my belonging promptly. How much longer do I have to wait? Two weeks ago, was the last time I've talked to them and they mentioned something about compensating me for each additional day they were delayed but Yaron couldn't give me a straight answer of how much was it per day, but he said that I would have to file a separate claim after everything is delivered. Is this correct? I already have paid them over half amount of the contract. Should I still paid them the remaining even though they fulfil the contract agreement?

This has been the worst experience ever. Never have dealt with a company so uncoordinated and unprofessional!

Customer Response • Sep 20, 2018

Sorry for the delayed reply. They had finally delivered my belonging on Thursday September 13th but I'm still going thru everything. Most of the boxes were squished, broken and torn from overweight or mishandle. I have written on the receipt this comment on broken boxes, missing pieces of the curtain rod and missing a medium box. Also, it was noted that everything was paid full in cash. On the pickup day it was addressed that most of the items on the boxes were fragile particularly the kitchen boxes containing glass so these boxes to be on top without any heavy items above them but obviously this wasn't passed on to the rest of the crew. Due to this indiscretion one kitchen box was more than half broken. I'm not completely done unpacking to see if anything else is broken or missing. Regardless, I will be filing a claim for the broken items, for each additional day they were late after the first 21 business days from pick up day that they guaranteed day but didn't fulfill, and for the missing box if I still can't find it among my belongings. I was able to find the claim website www.csipros.org on the contract initially signed. I'm hoping this claim will be handled efficiently and in a timely manner.

Sunrise Van Lines Response • Sep 20, 2018

I am sorry about it all
I will let the claim know

We recently used this company for our move and had the worst experience. Once you sign the paperwork, calls will go unanswered, stories will change, and be prepared for additional costs. It wasn't until we threatened legal action that the company seemed to care. We had a ridiculous amount of damaged items and several boxes/items were completely missing and the moving truck was in an accident. The top of the truck was sheared back about 3-4 feet on the top and 6-7 feet on the side. You could see the sky when standing inside the truck. The drivers lied about the truck being in an accident. I would recommend using a larger professional mover to avoid any frustrations. In addition to the cost of the move, we have about $8,000 of damaged items that are not covered by the insurance included by the company.

A few things you may want to know:

1) When getting the estimate, ask about the size dimensions of the boxes used to give you a price. When we did the initial phone estimate, I explained we had a certain number of large rubber/plastic storage bins and included dimensions. These were estimated at the size of a medium cardboard box. (roughly 1/3 of the size) This caused the price to skyrocket upon pickup. The estimate is way under priced and items are estimated to be smaller making the initial cost attractive. Make sure you have an understanding how the estimate is calculated.

2) THERE IS NO GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE. You may be asked to give a primary and secondary day for delivery. The company does have 21 business days to deliver your items starting from the first available day of delivery. By asking for a primary/secondary delivery, this is their way of working around this. They make it sound as though you can expect to have your belongings by those dates. It wasn't till we questioned that we were told about the 21 business days from that date. Tell them you would like your items delivered the next day to give less time!

3) If promises are being made, make sure to have a paper trail of conversations. Many of the emails were left unanswered. Ask for items to be in writing and do not sign anything till this happens. I was reassured that calls were recorded but this did not turn out to be the case.

4) Additional costs. There are 3 possible ways to have additional costs at delivery.
a - If the truck can't park within 75 feet of the property there will be an additional fee or if items need to be transferred from a semi to a smaller truck
b - If you are moving in to a condo/apartment that requires use of an elevator
c - Additional stairs. One flight of stairs is included with the move. This only covers up to 10 steps. This later changed to only 5 stairs at time of delivery.

5) This company may outsource parts of the move to third party movers. We were told that Sunrise would have one representative present during delivery and 4 movers. We had 2 movers show up. We were told that they had different criteria and we would have to pay more. The truck struck an overpass or something that was too low for it to pass under and many of our items were completely destroyed and severely damaged. We were also NEVER notified this happened. The drivers tried to tell us the damages happened before the items were placed on the truck. We were never told what actually happened to cause the damage to the truck, and subsequently, our possessions.

6) If you chose to pay a remaining balance at delivery you can ONLY pay this by cash or Money Order. We were told we could pay by card at the beginning but the story later changed after we signed the contract.

7) You items may be shared with other job orders. Our items were on a truck with another families belongings. They had to unload their items to access ours. Many of the boxes/bins were mixed up. We had to inspect each item as it came off the truck to ensure accuracy. The company that was used took no care in unloading items. This family's items were also damaged in the move. I could see this as their items were unloaded into our yard.

8) Storage. Your items may be transferred between different trucks and warehouses. This will increase the chance for damages and lost items.

9) Photos. If you use this company, make a detailed list of all items in each box. We now have to inventory damages and it has been a major pain point. There are several mobile applications that can make this job easier.

10) Insurance. BUY IT! If you do not, you are only entitled to $0.60 (sixty cents) per pound per item/box. We had a box of Le Creuset and glassware. All items were completely destroyed. The impact of accident was severe enough to crack cast iron pans. These items in this box alone cost over $750. We may only get back $24.

I have contracted with Sunrise Van Lines to move my personal belongings and the company has not delivered my my items after over 2 months.
I contracted with Sunrise Van Lines to move my personal items from Tampa, Florida to Omaha, Nebraska in May 2018 and as of July 29, 2018 I still have not received my items. To be clear, it has been 64 days since my items have been in Sunrise Van Lines' possession. As agreed to, the company picked up my items on May 26th, 2018. Upon picking up my items, the movers requested an additional $210, stating that I was never quoted for "packing" of items, even though I was told by the sales representative "Jack" that my binding estimate of over $1800 was all-inclusive. I obliged and paid the extra cost in order to expedite the pick-up process that very same day.

After the movers picked up my items, Yaron, the representative, told me my items would ship that following Friday, June 1, 2018 and that his "guys" would call me a few days before arriving in Omaha to set up a delivery time. He verbally approximated the delivery time to be about 2 weeks from the day of shipment. My credit card was charged that day for 75% of the moving cost, and I was also instructed to prepare a Postal Mail Order check to pay the movers the remaining balance upon delivery of my items. I received no calls for 2 weeks, and the following is a timeline of my communication with Yaron since:
June 15: I called Yaron, and he informed me my items would be arriving "in 5 days," which would have been June 20. I received no calls and the movers did not show up.
June 23: I called Yaron again, and he told me my items were "on their way." I received no updates thereafter, although I attempted to contact the company numerous times thereafter.
July 3: I finally emailed the company on July 3rd. I received no correspondence back.
July 4: I called Yaron, and he said he had not been picking up my calls because he was on vacation, and he had no update on the whereabouts of my belongings, but he would merely get back to me.
July 5 - July 28: I called the company on multiple occasions with most of my calls being sent directly to voicemail. The few times Yaron answered, he would state various unacceptable excuses for why he did not pick up my calls such as he was having a "foot problem," and at times acted surprised that no one had reached out to me about the whereabouts of my items. There were times where he would give me a location of my items, but no delivery date. At one point he said the truck was broken down in St. Louis, Missouri and that I would be updated in the coming days about my items. I received no such update.
July 26: I called the company multiple times, of which my calls were all sent directly to voicemail. I went through my contract and called "Jack" who picked up the phone immediately. Jack claimed that Yaron did not pick up my calls because he is in surgery. I asked Jack about the whereabouts of my items and he claimed the truck has been "broken down" in Kansas for 3 weeks. Allegedly, my items were being switched from storage units to yards while they were fixing the truck. Jack claimed he sent another truck to pick up my items from Kansas, and return them to Tampa. I followed up to ask if my items reached Tampa and he said he was not sure and would get back to me. I have received no follow-up correspondence from Jack. I have tried calling multiple times since July 27th and there is no coherent answer.

I am concerned of the whereabouts and condition of my personal belongings. Given the seriousness of this situation, I am requesting a delivery date within the next 10 (ten) business days and financial compensation for the severely delayed delivery.

Please let me know if you have any questions or further input as to next steps.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting a delivery date within the next 10 (ten) business days and financial compensation for the severely delayed delivery.

The three guys that Sunrise Van Lines sent me move were awesome! They were quick, super helpful and kept my belongings safe. They were very professional and were more than willing to help and position furniture at my new home. Thanks for everything!

This is one of the worst moving companies to use. Please do your research prior to using this company and hope this feedback helps.
Below are a few of the items we encountered working with this company and things to look out for.

1) When getting the estimate, ask about the size dimensions of the boxes used to give you a price. I witnessed items being thrown off the back of the truck in to the yard. I was able to get in touch with the family of the other job and many of their children's toys were destroyed. The movers also lost their box of wedding memorabilia.

8) Storage. Your items may be transferred between different trucks and warehouses. This will increase the chance for damages and lost items.

Desired Outcome

We would like to be reimbursed some of the damages that we encountered as many of our items are no longer usable. We also paid in full for services that were never fulfilled. We still have items that were never moved in to the main part of the house and furniture that was never reassembled. We are currently submitting a claim but will never be able to recoup even a fraction of the cost of the damaged items.

We submitted a claim for damages from move. SVL has yet to approve, deny, or contest the claim and are outside of the 120 day window.
The moving company truck was in an accident with our belongings in it. We completed the necessary steps through the provided claims process using the claims company provided by the moving company. They never approved, denied, or contested the claim submitted for damages during the allotted 120 day period. We were given an extension through the claims company which has closed.

We had over $40,000 worth of damage to our belongings. Since we did not purchase the extra insurance, we are only able to use the $0.60 maximum per pound for damages. We are looking seeking help to get back some monetary value to the amount of damages that occurred on top of missing items.

I appreciate the time to review this and would be available and open to discuss further. I've learned a lot during this process and feel that this would be a great case to help educate the american people. Thanks again!

Seeking:
Compensation for damages that occurred from move as appropriately submitted through the claims process.

We used the company in 2018 for a move from Florida to Maine. The truck was in an accident. We are trying to settle but the company is not adhering.
The company has numerous times not adhered to the required timelines during the dispute and settlement process. I signed the approval for settlement on 12/1/2019. The company has 45 calendar days to provide payment which has not been done. I've tried reaching out to them with no response. I also contacted the 3rd party settlement agency used by the moving company (CSI Pros) who stated there is nothing they can do. I also reached out to the FMCSA who also stated there is nothing they can do. All I am trying to do is to receive the agreed settlement.

Desired Resolution: Receive the agreed settlement in the amount of $1,415.70.

Sunrise Vam Lines treated our family very well. Working with them made our move very smooth. They were prompt, reasonably priced, professional, and respectful of our time. Thanks to Sunrise Van Lines , I would definitely hire them again.

Things are not getting delivered.
No response to communication. (email and phone)
Reference Job # XXXXXXXX
Yaron Mishkin's company (Alpine Van Lines D.B.A. Sunrise Van Lines) came and picked up my grandma's belongings on 5/7/2018. After 2 weeks of the free storage (1 month included in the contract) I gave him, on May 24th, an address of a storage facility that my grandma rented in El Paso. This was done via cell phone. As he never answers any of my emails.
On June 8th, I talked to Yaron and he told me the things are being loaded in the truck and that they are going to be on the way soon.
Now that being said, at the beginning Yaron has been answering my calls just telling me that he doesn't know when the things are going to arrive. Which I understand, there is other people's belongings in the trailer, not just my grandmas that need to be delivered on the way, that is how companies make money.
On June 12th, I spoke to Yaron, He told me that the things are going to arrive by the weekend of Friday June 22nd.and I could expect a call prior to arrival.
On Friday June 22nd , I received no phone calls nor delivery.
On Saturday June 23rd, a phone call to Yaron inquiring as to the delay, informed me of truck was in the shop in Dallas and delivery could be expected on Tuesday June 26th
I told him to give the truck driver my number if that was easier for him and he said he will. And he reiterated that the things will arrive on Tuesday June 26th. Which by then it has been more than 21 days period that they have to get the things to their final destination.

On Tuesday June 26th when the things are supposed to arrive (for the second time) and my grandma is waiting for her belongings, things never arrived. That same night around 8 pm Eastern time, Tony, the truck driver (he didn't give me his last name and called from a private number) called me to tell me that the truck broke in Dallas and that he was hoping to tow it over to a mechanic to a shop and find out what's going on if they can fix it or Yaron is going to send another "power unit" (whatever that means), I asked him what happened, if he got into an accident or what, he only said the truck just died on him with no further detail and that either himself or Yaron will call me for a status update the next day.
Since then I haven't heard from either of them (Yaron nor the driver). I have been trying to contact Yaron with no success. He doesn't answers any of my emails either.
Today June 29th my grandmother was able to get ahold of Yaron with the help of a third party, Mario, the clerk that works at the storage unit that my grandma rented. My grandma asked him to call on her behalf. Mario first tried to call from an El Paso area number, Yaron didn't answer. Then he called from a number from Chicago, the storage facility number and Yaron answered. I was listening to Mario talk to Yaron and he made Yaron aware of the extra expenses that have been accumulating because sunrise has not been able to deliver when promised. Also Yaron committed verbally to pay one month of rent on the storage unit when my grandma pays the rest upon arrival of her belongings.
I do not know what to do since Yaron is not picking up my phone calls, nor I have the driver's phone number. I only want my grandmother to get her belongings, and for them to do the right thing. This is an elderly woman that is waiting for her belongings that she needs to continue on with her life.

Desired Outcome

I need that my grandmother's belongings get delivered to El Paso, Tx as soon as possible. Also that she gets reimbursed for the extra month she has incurred as an expense because of the service.

I have been struggling getting an answer from this person (Yaron M.) that owns this moving company on when things are going to arrive to their destination.

He replied "things are on the way", yet he does not give me a day of arrival. He only called one time on Tuesday July 3rd, after my complaint. It just felt like he called me just to pacify me, yet he doesn't give me any solid answers on delivery date. He told me that he will reimburse a month of storage, I hope he remains true to his word. Time will tell.
The things are in Dallas. this response was 3 days ago. It doesn't take that long to get from Dallas to El Paso.

On top of that he told me he will call me on the morning of 7/6/2018 and that did not happen.

I am still waiting for phone call but mostly for delivery.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
***,
I have sent an email to ***@sunrisevanlines.com and to your partner Jack ***sunrisevanlines.com and I copied *** (see below) that has been handling this case from Revdex.com for what I deem as fair settlement for your breach of contract and delay.
I need a response to this as soon as possible, otherwise more collateral expenses will incur.
I believe it is in both of our interest to settle this now.
Let me know your decision

Option number 1 is the only acceptable option with modifications that will be acceptable to me and my grandmother. I believe there needs to be some reparations to the collateral damage this delay and breach of contract has caused. This is a few of the issues I want to point out:
- Lack of communication from your side
o You avoiding calls
o When answering only giving vague answers on delivery date
o Having to use a third party cell phone to be able to even get in contact with you
o After the belongings not arriving on days you said they will arrive (weekend June 22nd then Tuesday June 26th), not even a phone call to let us know about the situation, I had to be the one to initiate any efforts at communication.
- No information on where the belongings were in Dallas
o Not providing information on DOT# and *** # when requested by the new movers, that by the way, I connected you with because apparently you couldn't get someone to "complete the last leg or the trip", yet I did that in 2 days and it is not even my industry or responsibility.
o Leads me to believe items never left Florida, unless you can prove otherwise by providing the tracking numbers which show exactly where the trailer is and has been, which should show it was in a mechanic shop on the dates you specified
- Indirectly affected my grandma's plan to continue her journey to Mexico
o People she had ready to help her continue her move from Texas to her final destination in Mexico are no longer available because of YOUR DELAY and BREACH of YOUR OWN CONTRACT.
o After you stated a day of arrival, she got paperwork from the Mexican Consulate so she didn't incurred expenses for taxes on her personal belongings when crossing the border. This document has an expiration date and her belongings will not get delivered before that expiration date, either through you or through another company. This document is nonrenewable.
- She is renting a room for $500 a month yet she has not even a pan to cook, not to mention clothes and other basic needs, because you still have the belongings in Florida.
- The extra transportation expenses this is generating, beyond what was initially estimated.
- Not to mention on 7/11/2018 I was informed by the Pinellas county economic crimes investigator that you informed her that the belongings are in Tampa, yet you told Susan from Revdex.com that it will take 3 days for the things to come back to Tampa. You cannot even keep you story straight.
- On top of that, the time that I have taken off work to handle this situation and report your company to the organizations that are assisting me in solving this issue such as Revdex.com, Economic crimes unit, consumer protection, FMCSA.

After stating all this, I have compiled the following table which shows what we believe is fair compensation on top of your proposed option 1

This is how I have broken it down,

I expect the quantity that has been paid until now to be reimbursed (1,138.35), including the materials your movers used for packing, because as of now, I believe the things never left Florida, I do not think it is fair you are charging us for that, unless you can prove otherwise with the tracking numbers, I will subtract this quantity.
Also, reimbursement for the storage in El Paso in full.
As well, as the extra expenses that your inability to complete the contract that you accepted have generated are: $1,113.38. I am subtracting medications and food expenses to this total. Leaving with a total for reparations of $854.38.
So in total I believe you should reimburse us $1,992.73. I believe that is a fair amount.

This amount is contingent on the following:
- We sign a settlement letter mediated by the Revdex.com. I am not dealing/ negotiating directly with you, nor your partner Jack ***, since his name does not appear on the company register.
- You accept this and sign the settlement letter before July 18 and you return the belongings to the pick up location before Friday July 20th.
o If another week passes, more expenses will be incurred.
- Belongings are in good condition, not wet nor mistreated. (just going by your other negative reviews on Revdex.com)
- Once you return the belongings to the original pickup location, that your movers don't hold belongings hostage by asking us for more money. (just going by your other negative reviews on Revdex.com)
- The money that gets reimbursed is reimbursed via a cashier's check. I do not want a personal check to bounce after I have signed the settlement letter.
- A letter of apology or personal apology at Revdex.com.

Let me know if you want this to keep on going or if you want this to be over.
I believe it is in both of our best interest to settle this matter now, as opposed to, incur additional expense for legal and attorney fees.
