We've been a customer of Superior Solar since 2006. David *** is a great sales person. He's easy to talk with and not pushy. He answered all our questions, made us feel comfortable with our purchase. We referred him to other friends and family. A+ for these folks!!

This review is for an install done back approximately 1.5 years ago for an 8 panel system solar heating system for an in-ground pool.

I highly recommend Superior Solar for your solar pool heating needs. Superior Solar seems to be a very honest business based on my experience with them. Dave Spanier came to our house, took measurements and gave us an accurate estimate. Superior Solar uses high quality parts and their installers are very efficient. David answered all my questions and is super responsive to feedback. The price is about what you'd expect for high quality parts and installation. The warranty on the parts are excellent and 2 years after the fact Dave is still answering my questions and providing guidance on my pool and pointing me in the right direction. He still asks about my satisfaction as a customer to this day.

You absolutely get what you pay for with this company. It's well worth it go go with this for your solar heating needs.

I have had solar panels and a salt water system installed for our pool a few years ago. Everything from the initial consultation with David to the installation and the customer service afterwards has been nothing short of perfect. When Hurricane Irma hit, my roof was torn apart, except for the part that the panels were on which was impressive. They were quick to come and remove and reinstall before and after the roof installation. The pool is a comfortable temperature most of the year, so the investment was well worth it. David is quick to respond even years after service. I highly recommend Superior Solar and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.

Worked with David from Superior Solar at the end of last summer. Our roof was not ideal and David explained all the pros and cons of having to install it where we did, and made it very clear what we could expect. We did install a Superior Solar system, and the installation team was very professional and efficient. We had a minor problem with one of our valves, but they fixed it right away. My wife truly enjoys a warm pool and with our system we were able to swim in our pool until December with pool temperatures right at 90, This March we were able to do the same. We now use our pool considerable more because of the comfort the solar heating system provides. We should of installed a system years ago.

I've used Superior Solar twice now and have been very pleased with the quality of work, materials used, and the amount of hot water generated from our pool solar. On sunny days, my pool under screen is currently (May) reaching high 80s by mid-afternoon, at which point I have my automation system switch the pump to spa mode for the remainder of the afternoon to heat the hot tub. By the end of the work day, the spa will hit 100 degrees or more if I let it. It's ready to go any evening we've had afternoon sun. The best part...for most of the year, I am able to heat the spa with very little use of my expensive propane heater! Highly recommend Superior Solar.

Information was clear and concise, prices were reasonable with competitors, work was completed quickly and completely. Very pleasant experience.

It was time for our solar panels to be replaced. Fixing leak after leak, we knew they had reached their lifespan. A friend referred us to Superior Solar and the experience has been nothing short of amazing! David was very thorough in his presentation to us at our house and spent a lot of time answering any questions. He was always available by phone, text, or email and constantly kept in touch throughout the process. The install was quick and painless. Our old system was gone and new system in in just a few short hours. Now here we are during our stay at home order and we have been in the pool every single day! Superior Solar installed my Heliocol pool solar heating system 16 years ago on 8/3/04 (I still have the paper work). David S was the rep for Superior Solar at that time. The system worked flawlessly over the past sixteen years and we only had one or two routine maintenance calls.

Two weeks ago I replaced my roof, so I had to decide whether to reinstall the old system or get a new one. So I called the phone number on my paperwork, and low and behold, David S answered the phone. To say the least I was pleasantly surprised.

David told me that I still had from 4 to 8 years of life left in the system, but the 12 year warranty is no longer in effect. So I opted for a new system.

I am very happy and satisfied with my old system and my wife can't wait to have the new system installed. I strongly recommend Superior Solar.

We had a great experience with our pool solar installation. From our first meeting David S to the completion of the project has been very professional and caring. After the completion of the installation you could not tell that anyone had been at our home. We were told that you will be able to use your pool March thru October and that has been spot on. It's Mid March and our pool is at 88 degrees. Our previous pool was only open from late May to the first week of September without Solar heating.
David has been a pleasure to work with and has stayed in touch on a regular basis to check in on our pool temps. Not many companies will beat this service or professionalism.

We are very pleased with the quality of product and service provided by Superior Solar. We purchased a Heliocol solar pool heating system in February to help warming up our screened-in West-facing pool. The pool temperature in late February was 60 F and now - less than 4 weeks later - is at a whooping 83 F! So needless to say, pool season is officially open!

The sales team was great to deal with and very upfront and transparent. The installation crew was extremely professional and detail oriented doing a fantastic job minimizing visual impacts of the installation.

I can highly recommend Superior Solar's pool heating solutions as they seem to even exceed my expectations.

Superior Solar has a truly superior system for pool heating. We replaced our old panel system and with the Superior system which clearly is a better design than the panels that should have way fewer leaks and be easier to fix if it does. Dave is very knowledgeable, experienced, professional and friendly. The installation occurred even sooner than predicted and was quick and simple.

Dave, who visited our home and walked us through everything we could expect with our new heater and installation, was incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. The team who came out and installed the equipment were very professional as well and left the area just as clean and tidy as it was when they arrived. Was shocked how quick and easy the install went!

A year ago today we were hesitant about investing in a pool heater, but we honestly could not be happier with the decision. Being able to enjoy our pool throughout the year (we actually had a few swims in December!) is totally worth the investment. We will definitely return to Superior Solar in the future for any other solar energy projects we decide to embark on. Highly recommended!

I put a solar panel system from Superior solar on our house in April this year. It was the best investment that I ever did and paid for itself over and over. It has extended our swimming time till the end of November and if it had not rained in December we would still be swimming at Christmas. The system works so well that it also heats our spa also. We have had to turn it off several times because the pool water temperature was over 95 degrees. I wish I had put a solar from Superior Solar on my house years ago. David Spanier was so easy to work with, that I recommend him to everyone looking for a solar system.

I had my solar installed almost a year ago. It has worked great all year and very happy with the product. I was not pressured to purchase and all my questions were answer by the sales rep, David.
Just last week, the day after Christmas, I noticed a few stains on my ceiling. I sent my sales rep, David a message and he had someone out that afternoon. They found it was my roof that was leaking and even provided pictures so I can show the roofer. I highly recommend Superior Solar and their sales rep, David.

Ignored and strung along when asking for an estimate to replace a broken panel.
Called before memorial day about a possible replacement solar panel in a system they installed. I didn't expect to get it fixed for free, I expected to pay for the replacement. What I DIDN'T expect was to be ignored. Not only ignored but strung along all summer with multiple promises of an estimate of how much it would cost. I called on numerous occasions to follow-up nearly literally begging for either an estimate or an answer of simply no we don't have it and we'll have to remove the broken one and bypass it. Nothing. Just promises to have the answer in "days", or on "Monday" or "Friday", or the next day depending on when I'd call. Other solar companies have advised me to work with the original installer to fix it, unfortunately. And I suppose since they won't get another 5 figure check from me they don't care. To cap this off I now want to replace my gutters and a conduit they installed needs to be moved and electric companies have also advised me to work through them to do that. So basically if I want that I will need to find a new company to install a new system from scratch.

Desired Outcome

Contact my as promised to schedule either removal or replacement of the broken panel and give estimate for altering the conduit to make way for the new gutter system.

They have already contacted me as expected after I complained publicly on facebook. It seems that the situation may be resolved with installation of a replacement on October 18th.

Permit me to establish credibility before launching my complaint. Most of the complaints your receive are of a service nature. That's what you are all about. I will touch upon that because those who sit and write pen on paper are more serious and maybe a little old fashion. Please bare with me. Lets start with who I am.

I have two degrees graduating in high 5% of my class; worked and owned businesses; retired from D.O.D. active service as well as civilian military and am a 28 year D.O.D. Military retiree; Had a stint as Federal Financial Investigator reviewing military proposals as well as Contractual and Corporate Operational reviews; (7 years). Granted 3 International Logistics Presidential awards ending my career as and Action Officer and Military Logistics Adviser in Germany, for a three Star Commander who was to become the Assistant Secretary of the Army, under President Bush in the beginning of the millennium. I have always achieved the highest of Superior Performance Government ratings and have been sought out by Corporations for my special knowledge, training and experience. In addition, I was a Financial and Operational Consultant for Pitt University and Westinghouse Program Manager for NYC, Baltimore and Miami Subways. Self made millionaire (the real kind). Four generations of military service; father serving in the "Battle of The Bulge" receiving two purple hearts; Have one very successful son, currently serving his 31st year as an Air National Guard reservist "Pharmaceutical Assistant and trauma expert for a refueling group reaching the highest military enlisted grade. I am proud to pronounce two highly intelligent grandchildren. Both receiving the highest of high school "four year Honors", in addition to receiving Presidential academic awards. Married, 50 years, to y high school sweetheart; "She still is." Well that's me in the proverbial "nutshell'> I'm hoping these credentials credit your reading.

Sir, I know this is a lot to consume just over a Solar panel complaint but I believe many who complain may not have the credentials and that weakens their case. Mine no so much. I have been a Consumer Advocate and writer for years. Besides writing the good within our society I seek out unfairness, especially for those who are unable to defend themselves. I have been published, posted and marketed as training tools. My background within the Government has given me special tools (in regard to Federal Regulatory requirements) few possess. I have owned several businesses and have been on the receiving side so I am familiar with commitment, visions and values. I hope I have been a good steward of those characteristics. I am assuming you are too.

Complaint: Last July my next door neighbor Tim *** talk me into Solar panels to heat our pools. Tim's a bright man and does his homework beforehand. In fact he also convinced me to use the same pool installer several years ago. I am happy I trusted his advise for y pool is beautiful with a few bells and whistles.

The same day he had his Superior Solar panels installed I did too. Since my pool was larger I needed 10 panels. For awhile it worked well then the primary exterior valve melted. Its the valve that controls the water to the roof. Superior technicians came out a week or so later and re-installed the valve. Of course I had no solar heating for that period of time. A month or so went by and that same valve melted again. It took them awhile to figure out what they could no to get me operational. Of course my system was shut down for some time, again.

Now "Felix a friendly technician came out and replaced the valve with a more appropriate valve. It worked well and is till doing it's job, when its in service. Although your recent Technician who was at my home on Thursday,15 August inspected Felix's work and was appalled by the "sloppiness" of the job. He wards not mine. He went as far as to take photos of the work. The valve gluing was spattered all over the house and the joints were not cleaned. I never thought a moment about until he explained Superior Solar standard of workmanship. But that was not why he and his crew was out at my home. Lets go into a bit of history.

I had been noticing these strange gray rectangular stains, markings or defections, etc. on every panel. My neighbor Tim's panels were clean and black as from the first day they were installed. Remember please, our panels were installed last July, 2018. I called your company and "Jake" visited and walked the roof, professing he had worked for the company for many years and could not understand these unusual markings and said "if I must I will change them all out". He was also curious of to the cause of this anomaly. He asked if he could take one off so his distributor across the street from his work location could inspect it. I told him sure, although we were leaving for Pittsburgh on 1 June 2019 to attend my grandsons high school graduation. No problem Jake stated. We don't need you to be present. I approved and life went on.

A month passed and we called Jake's work and left a message to get back to us. No response. Two months passed after several calls leaving messages of the same and no response. Please understand that we had no service from our solar panels since the system was shut off the first week in June. August rolled around and my wife got insisted and called three times over several days. We finally got a worker on the phone. I insisted on speaking to "Jake" about this problem. I believe that conversations was on Monday 12 August 2019. We spoke for quite some time and he apologized for what he called a problem that fell through the cracks and he had thought someone else handled it. Well someone else had not. We were still without solar service for going on three months. io spoke to him abut internal quality assurance problems since I was an Operational Investigator for the Government and later a consultant. He admitted the failure but said the problem was solved with a simple cleaning solution.
(1) We agreed they would re-install the panel on 15 August 2019 Thursday.
(2) We also agreed that he would have a revised warranty on the panels to reflect a start date of this installation, on the day of the installation.
(3) We also agreed that upon the installation the workers would be given the cleaner and they would clean the remaining 9 panels, which were all marred by this unknown rectangular stain. The is was to happen on 15 August, 2019.

The workers were there on time and dragged my panel out of the truck while the job Supervisor stood with e watching his worker on the roof. I asked the supervisor about the cleaning process and he looked at me as if I was an alien. I asked him about when the one panel he brought was cleaned and stated "Jake cleaned it this morning". He also stated he had no idea about the problem or the cleaning or the warranty revision. The told me nothing, he said. he had one of the cleaning material Jake had used this very morning. I told him that the panel, supposedly cleaned still had the stains visually observed by he and I. In addition I watched the workers pulling the panel out of the van and stepping on it as they extracted it. Normal? No my call.

I told him to take the panel down from my house and return it to his work place until your company fixed the problem and coordinated the lies I had been entrusted to believe. The supervisor said if he were me he would contact Rich ***, the owner. He sincerely believed this a grievous error stating how confused this particular Superior Solar location was. he then called the location and Jammie spoke to me. She was pleasant but had no idea of the problem I was experiencing over the past 3 months. She asked me to explain it to her and she would promise to follow up. Well, guess what? She didn't. Here we are Monday, 19 August 2019 and not a whisper of contact from Superior Solar.

the worker, Supervisor, strongly suggested I demand the replacement of all the panels. They could install them faster thanit would take to clean them and they could not gurarantee the cleaning of these unusual markings or if they effected the performance. He further stated taht this is not my problem but Superior Solar's. WOW,the guy made sense. I still to this date have no solar service. I am going with is suggestion, which is the right thing to do. The defective panels are not my problem they are yours.

Now your wondering a man of working experience should know how to handle this situation. I do. Although I wish you to do the right thing before this gets out of control into a third party. Trust me you will loose this battle. Lets not battle and peacefully settle this simple matter. do your job. Fulfill your commitments and act like a 5 star company. I have only met fine people during this process. (Although I will not work with "Jake". Once lied to makes me a fool to warrant trust in this man).I believe they all want to do the right thing but you have an operational problem from within.

Permit me to tell you a story of my childhood that seems to fit in this situation. When I was a very young pre-schooler my father owned a farm. Fenced next to his farm was a cow rancher, which always got my attention and fascination. I asked my Dad why was that cow (a big cow) different than the rest. My dad (who knew everything) said because its a bull. I asked him what a bull was. Since I was young and wouldn't understand the birds and bee's He told me bull's are different but very necessary to the herd of cows. He went on. You can tell if its a bull by its poop and went into more detail. You know, since then I can recognize bt when I see it....sometimes.

I am hoping you can help me settle this situation. This is not rocket science. Your own people agree they have never seen anything like this. Why is it still on the top of my roof and why after paying you cash in July 2018 I have only received intermittent service because of your defective equipment or failed operations. I apologize if that offends you but I can't "flower-up" the truth.

We have replaced this client's discolored solar panels at our company's expense, while we attempt to work with the manufacturer to re-examine this denied warranty claim.

We are not sure how the panels became discolored, but we value our relationship with Mr. and sympathize with his frustration in resolving this matter.

Hello Susan,

This particular gentleman may be having some personal issues, and we're unable to satisfy him beyond what we've already done (we replaced his solar panels at no cost to him, after his warranty claim was denied by the manufacturer). His solar system became discolored a couple of years after the installation (the manufacturer says that a roof cleaning chemical was used by someone, and they denied the warranty claim that we filed on behalf of this customer) and we couldn't determine the reason, so we ultimately replaced all of the panels at our own small company's expense, in an effort to resolve this issue.

He has harassed many of our staff members by phone, talks in circles and goes off on long unrelated tangents, and forgets conversations we've had with him. From what I can gather in his latest response, he's asking for Revdex.com to remove our 5 star rating not because we didn't resolve his issue but because we didn't act quickly enough or apologize profusely enough for a problem that we didn't create. I truly believe that this man is having some cognitive challenges, and this is consuming quite a bit of time for all of us.

Please let me know if you think there's something more that we can do. Replacing all of his solar panels with brand new ones for free hasn't stopped his vague dissatisfaction. I will attempt to call him again today but I truly believe there's nothing more we can do for him than we've already done.

I shopped 5 different companies before deciding on Superior Solar. One of the companies was a little spooky, I had two different salespeople from this company, one who appeared to work for them and another who must of been contracted, neither one knew that the other one had been here and they gave me two different quotes. Need less to say they weren't in the running. One company wanted to much personal information before coming out another did not leave an estimate. It finally came down to two companies, both offered similar products, one was slightly cheaper. The one that was cheaper could not provide any comments or reviews from customers or a copy of proof of insurance, that left Superior Solar. They were very professional from the salesman to the office staff to the installers.It took about three months from start to finish, with the only hold ups being the HOA and permitting, which pushed out the install date. The install crew was very efficient on getting the project done. I was impressed with them and how the cleaned up when done. They walked the yard and picked up every thing, showing pride in their work. If you are looking for Solar equipment make sure you include Superior Solar on your list.
