Tap To Eat Reviews (44)

Review: We signed a contract on 3/28/14 with taptoeat.com in order for them to produce an online ordering app for our restaurant, the [redacted]. They automatically debited $299 from our business checking account to get the process started and told us it would take a couple of months to get it up and running. It has been over 4 months and we still do not have an app and they took an additional $99 from our account for their monthly fee on 5/16/14 which was supposed to go towards our first month of being live online. There has been no communication on their part for the last 2 months and multiple requests for a complete refund have been ignored. The initial team of people that we dealt with seem to no longer work there. Money and time has been spent on getting this app up and running and after over 3 months we have nothing to show for it.Desired Settlement: We have been scammed out of our money and want a refund of $398.

RESPONSE:[redacted] signed up for our services on 3/28/2014 to obtain website ordering on his company website as well as a mobile app. We explained to [redacted] on multiple occasions that in order for[redacted] mobile appto go live they would first need to go live with ordering on their website per the terms of our agreement. However, the client was not able to put the ordering on their site due to technical reasons. We offered to complete the task at no additional charge, however the client was not able to provide us with technical access to his site.

We deny the statement of “We have been scammed out of our money and want a refund” due to the fact that Tap To Eat has performed to the terms of our agreement. However, even though we believe we have performed to the terms of our agreement,we are willing to work with [redacted] and credit his account for free monthly service equal to the amount that they were charged.Regards,Tap To Eat Managment

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We were never contacted to proceed with our online ordering. We were never told that we needed online ordering on our website. We were charged $400 to have our "site" built and after the money was taken from our bank account there was no follow up from Tap To Eat. Multiple attempts to contact ANYONE from the company, via email and phone, were ignored. Money was not supposed to be debited from our account until AFTER site went live, but no one contacted us to tell us that we were live and they continued to debit $99 every month from our bank account. Apparently all of the people who we initially dealt with are no longer at the company and we do not have a specific person with whom we could speak to this about.

We have only been credited back $198, but would like our initial payment of $398 to be returned.

Regards,[redacted]

Please call us today[redacted] Your App is Live [redacted] We would like to get you taking orders. We have just invested capital in a new customer service experience and we would like to make you happy.

Review: We were using the services of Tap to Eat for one of our locations. We shut this particular location down June 2015. I called and cancelled our service, did a follow up cancellation phone call. Tap to Eat said we would be cancelled effective July 2015 and we owed one last month fee. That was correct and that was debited from our account. In August 2015, our account was debited twice, on 8/20 and 8/21. I called and spoke to at least 6 different people. I was hung up on twice. To say I was mad is an understatement. I finally spoke with someone who seemed to take down all my info and said we would be refunded the 2 debited amounts. I followed up just about every 3 weeks, since this never happened. I have a string of emails with different people at Tap to Eat regarding this, and that this was "being worked on", blah blah, blah. All we want is what is due to us. This company is a scam, 100% a scam.Desired Settlement: We would like to have a refund for the amount they debited our account. 2 months after our store was closed. They have said this was a "mistake" and "checks in the mail".

Review: We signed a contract with Tap To Eat to provide online ordering and develop an app for same at the end of August. We were told it would take 2 weeks to develop and another week to test and be ready to go live. It has now been about 10 weeks and project is nowhere near completion. We have paid an upfront set up fee and they have taken multiple charges from our account that were to pay for service which has not been provided.Desired Settlement: Would like a full and complete refund

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

1) We did not receive any notification that an app had been completed2) App does not actually work3) App is only available for iphone / ipad, not for android devices.4) This is the first attempt to resolve / first response from Tap To Eat even though this complaint is 9 months old and issue is nearly a year old5) Based on the unwillingness of Tap to Eat to complete the project in a timely manner, their lack of a timely response to my emails, my phone calls and this complaint, and the lack of timely payment to other clients of Tap To Eat with whom I have spoken, I have no desire to be in business with this companyRegards,

We would like to resolve the issue with the client. When the client first signed up we were a young and growing company and unfortunately our customer service team was not able to handle the large customer influx. We have since grown significantly and have put a lot of resources and capital into a world class customer service team.We would like to opportunity to show the client our platform and if the client is happy we would like to offer free service for 12 months. In response to the clients issues we offer the following.1) The app was ready all the time but the menu needed to be completed with the customers input.2) The app is connected to the menu in our admin panel. The menu just needs to be completed with the modifiers3) We released the iPhone version of the app and wanted the clients approval before we release the Android version4) With the growth of our company and customer service team we want every customer to be satisfied. 5) Please call us and ask for Richard (General Manager of Customer Service) we would like to resolve this.
