Tax Law Advocates Reviews (71)

We apologize profusely for any misunderstanding or inconvenience
caused by our marketing correspondence. It appears there is some confusion
regarding our product/service and intent. We only market direct to businesses
and not to residential consumers. Moreover, we only use opt-in/verifiable and
permissible data for such marketing campaigns. Additionally, we never market at
“all hours” only once every 3 weeks at 11:30 AM EST on a weekday direct to the
business.
However, we do acknowledge that inadvertent errors can happen and
it’s possible we tried to reach the consumer by mistake. The fax transmission in
question is for a real and genuine product and contains three different forms
of toll-free communication for the recipient to opt-out.
Again, we apologize for the mistake/intrusion and ask
that he call [redacted] to have any fax number removed from future correspondence by First American Capital.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The reason I am not satisfied with this response is I have been told this same thing since 2012. They said the IRS takes 7-12 months and it's already been three years, I also have not heard from them since last year nor will they return my calls at one point they told me the IRS agent was not responding so all they could do is wait that was almost a year ago.

With the amounts of calls you received on all these companies telling you they can help with taxes you don't know where to turn. I had talked to many others before making my decision. It took me awhile but I felt at ease with tax law advocates. They explained all the facts and how my situation would be handled.I didn't feel like a "sales" call, I felt they truly want to help people. This is the best decision I made. They have answered any questions I had and kept me updated through out the entire process. Now that my case is settled I'm happy to say I received great news!Thank you once again Tax Law Advocates team and especially [redacted] for always keeping me informed . You have exceed my expectations.I appreciate all the hard work your team put into it.

I would like to say Thank you to the group at Tax Law Advocates. I have been a customer with them for two years and although nothing has been completed the thank you goes to them for not giving up on me and for their absolute positive reinforcements and Encouragements. When I got sad and rude they got nicer, when I saw no hope they got gave me confidence. Thank you so very much. My S-Corp small business was part of a national disaster river flood and we were dislocated for almost a year and out of business for most. Since then we have had to shut down due to the flood and filed bankruptcy and the IRS is charging late penalties. All TAXES PAID --- JUST PENALTIES DUE-- OVER $16,000.00 I think that is cruel and unjust and wrong. I thank God for people like Tax Law Advocate that can stand up for us little people and stay true to their word. This company has kept the IRS from seizing my home and taking my now job wages. Thank you Tax Law Advocates --Thank you

As discussed with our client tax preparation for 2012 and 2013 was not included in our clients original fee, and contract. We explained this to the client on the due date of his returns however, due to the inconvenience we called the IRS...

to extend his deadline an additional two weeks, so our client can either come up with the funds to pay us to handle the returns or find an alternative preparer.
We also understand it is difficult for clients to pay the entire fee at once which is why we offered this client to split up the fee in payments to alleviate some of the financial pressure. We discussed these points with our client and he now agrees he misunderstood the circumstances of the situation and we are now actively working with one another to complete his case.

TAX LAW ADVOCATES....Was Very Very helpful with my brother Financial challenges with the IRS. Thank you so much. I want to SINCERELY Thank STEPHANIE V For her PATIENCE and DEDICATION towards my Brother and I. I had to sometimes help my Brother with this because he didnt understand and she walked me through it so I could help him and she always had a PLEASANT ATTITUDE.

complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The wage garnishment was released but the funds that were taken from me have not beem recovered. If the company would have been doing the job that they were paid in full for this would have never occurred therefore the funds that were taken from me from the wage garnishment should be refunded to me. This has yet to happen or anyone in the company even address the situation even though it has been brought to their attention on many occasions. They just skip around it as if it is not there problem.

Unfortunately, we can only put a hold on collections for a certain period of time. The hope is in that period of time we are able to get all the documentation required to set up resolution with IRS. However, it took us a longer period of time to gather all the information we required, within the time unfortunately, the collection hold expired.
Only three days after we received the documentation we initially requested, we resolved the client's federal liability.

If a client has a problem with any advertisement that is sent, all they simply have to do is unsubscribe from the advertisement list, or they could call in and we would remove them for marketing list the same second. All they would simply have to do is inform us, and they would stop...

receiving any advertisements.

Review: In September 2012, I contacted Tax Law Advocates to assist me some Federal tax issues. I gave them a down payment and began making monthly payments on the balance of the amount they said it would cost to contact the Internal Revenue Service, stop levies and liens, remove liens, and secure an 'offer to settle' my debt.

While they did give me assistance getting a levy stopped they failed to preform on the agreement to stop and remove liens and to obtain an 'offer to settle' my debt with the IRS.

Letters sent (several) to Tax Law Advocates beginning in September 2013 have gone unanswered and have not been returned to me as undeliverable.

I have been to their office in San Diego, it is empty and dark. Their phone numbers have been disconnected.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded a minimum of one half and up to two thirds the amount I paid them as they delivered on only one third of the agreed upon services.

Business

Response:

Customer can verify that he has already been contacted and that he would be receiving a refund. Customer can also verify that he would be withdrawing his complaint.

Consumer

Response:

Someone from the business names in complaint ID [redacted] has contacted me although they claim the business no longer exists.

They have given me a verbal offer to reimburse a portion of the fees (in payments of $200 a month up to a total of $1200) that I paid for the services the company did not render. In return I have agreed to release the complaint when payments have been made to my satisfaction.

However, it strikes me as a bit odd that a company which no longer exists would would respond in this manner to the Revdex.com's notification of complaint when they did not respond to any correspondence from me, sent to the same address, for nearly a year.

I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: First American Capital attempts to fax my home phone at all hours. I have trued to "Opt-Out" even though I never asked to be on their list. It doesn't work. I attempted to call the person listed on the fax; however, I was told that he is a fictitious person used for the scam. The agent "Matt" told me he couldn't remove me from their list because it is a valid phone number.Desired Settlement: Although I would prefer they stop trying to scam people which I know is impossible, I would at least like them to stop calling me. My number is in the 302 area code so they could just remove number in it. I would prefer you not give them my numbers to prevent them from adding me to other lists.

Consumer

Response:

I am concerned that if my phone number is provided to them that they will add me to other lists just as they did with the one they are calling me on. I would prefer that they just remove number in the 302 area code or the 302-378 exchange. If you call them they ask for financial information so it appears they are an identity theft organization. From the message they sent they said they had spoken to me in the past which they did not, so it is obvious they are phishing.

Thanks,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Thank you for the response. It appears that there can not be a resolution. As you can obviously tell from their response, they will continue to try to scam consumers. To respond to their statements:

"It appears there is some confusion regarding our product/service and intent"

They sent un-solicited messages stating that they had recently had conversations with me about financial matters. I never had conversations with them. I do not discuss financial matters with companies that call me. I only discuss finances with companies who I call.

When I called them, their agent who said he is name was "Matt" told me that the person in the fax was not a real person. The persons name was used to make it the fax look legitimate.

"Matt" demanded sensitive personal information to continue the call. And refused to remove me from their list because my phone number is "a valid phone number.

Their intent is clear. Identity theft by phishing.

"We only market direct to businesses and not to residential consumers. Moreover, we only use opt-in/verifiable and permissible data for such marketing campaigns."

The number they called is registered as a residential line at the LEC.

I have had the number for over 6 years.

I have never run a business from my home. I don't take business calls on my home number.

I don't normally have a fax machine at home; although, I did connect one to determine the source of the calls.

I never opted-in to any spam lists. I never opt-in to any lists. I opt-out of lists from the companies with whom I do business.

I have never "done business' with this group.

Considering the points above - their spam lists could not be "verifiable and permissible".

"Additionally, we never market at “all hours” only once every 3 weeks at 11:30 AM EST on a weekday direct to the business."

Simply incorrect. I have received calls at many different hours including late in the evenings and early in the morning.

However, we do acknowledge that inadvertent errors can happen and it’s possible we tried to reach the consumer by mistake. The fax transmission in question is for a real and genuine product and contains three different forms of toll-free communication for the recipient to opt-out.

Again, considering the points above, this comment means nothing.

"Again, we apologize for the mistake/intrusion and ask that he call 877-529-[redacted] to have any fax number removed from future correspondence by First American Capital. "

There is no reason for me to call them, I never asked to be spammed.

It should not be my responsibility to support their activities. They are the scammers & spammers.

I do not wish to do business with them.

Although we know they will never remove anyone, they can simply strip the numbers in the [redacted] exchange from their list. Then people can "opt-in" to their wonderful service.
