TDOT is a joke, just like COVID.
Using the pandemic for an excuse to not do anything is absolutely ridiculous. Closing phone lines due to Covid is one thing, but Poor email communication, on top of False Advertising is a little too much for this company to get any more business from me. When the website says that there's multiple items in stock, and a week later I am told that the part is discontinued by manufacturer, it becomes apparent that the problem is not COVID but instead the issue is either an elaborate scam for ripping off people, or just that this company doesn't care.
There was a time when I thought buying Canadian was the Right thing to do... but paying double for parts that don't actually exist has definitely helped me understand the fact that buying Canadian doesn't actually help out Canadians.
I ordered the parts from Ebay, for less than half of TDOT's price, and I had to call my credit card company to get a refund underway.
TDOT is a joke, just like COVID.

Horrible service
I ordered an item and received something completely different, of course it was "my fault" because it was a "special order". Customer service is horrible. Hassle returning item even though they offer "hassle free returns." Everything is special order, but you don't know that until they have billed your credit card. I ordered from them because they are Canadian, but Summit Racing, Jegs, or Rock Auto will get my ebusiness from now on.

Ordered and paid for 2 *** Adjustable Bike Beams. Two weeks later I received 1 from *** Manufacturing and sent an email to TDOT asking where the other one is or if it even got ordered. Haven't heard a thing and now it's been 3 weeks. Tried calling but they have shut down their phone lines. What?? And of course have blamed COVID for doing that. Have they heard of working from home? Absolutely terrible customer service! If you can't run a business, shut it down.

Ordered the Pop & Lock *** Tailgate power lock kit on 08 Jun 2020,
Order arrived on 16 June poorly packaged, missing wiring harnesses, connectors, tie wraps and instructions. The 12VDC locking solenoid was used (bolt marks on mounting tab.
TDot informed immediately via email complete with photos.
TDot didn't respond until 29 Jun 2020 after two more emails and using the site "Request a Return" option twice.
Their response indicated up to a max of 10 working days for a Return Authorization and Instructions to be sent.
As of the date of this complaint it has been 22 working days and an additional email to them today which garnered only an automated email response.
I am out $155.59 plus the $25 TDot Gift Certificate I used when the order was placed for a total of $180.59.
For reasons unknown to me TDot engaged with an entity other than the OEM Pop&Lock U.S.A. to fill my order.

The "Return" activity has been on the go now for 31 Business Days.

Hello.

I apologize for all the delays. With Covid-19, there have been several delays because staff have been laid off and it just overburdens us. We had to shut of lines and we are still dealing with about three times the amount of work we were getting pre-COVID.

This is not an excuse but rather an indication of the times. There are several businesses going through this. When we had set up the return, our warehouse never replied to it and of course there was no way for us to follow up until you messaged us again with an update. We should be better than that, yes.

But regardless, we have received your return and I refunded your order today. Here is a $25 coupon code as well -

TDot, like myself, was the unwitting victim of an unscrupulous 3rd party supplier/company who is not the OEM of the item originally ordered. The refunding of the amount paid plus providing a replacement $25 discount coupon by TDot is appreciated and indicative of the company's integrity.

I was following their website information to buy an auto part from this company in early June. This information and description had already shown what kind of vehicle it was for. I waited for a month without any reply. I asked them the reason behind this and they told me they had already sent me the vehicle information request two days ago. However, I did not receive it. After I provided my vehicle information for this company. They kept asking me for the vehicle information request every two weeks. They told me they have to take a week to answer any email. Is this a joke? Almost two months after, I did not get any news of my item purchased. I do not know how they handle their customers. I bought a lot of items from the other companies, I got them within two to three weeks. I guess I finally have to file a claim on this company. What do you think about this company's service?

Place an order for a trailer hitch and wiring harness on June 29th. The hitch arrived within 7 days but the harness did not. The tracking information showed that I had received the harness. The vendors phone support was down due to COVID so I sent email as instructed. I received an automated response advising that I should expect to have to wait at least 7 days for a response (COVID etc.). Even if you had only 2 people working, how many complaints could they be dealing with in a day ?

I did finally get a response on July 13th. The answer was they where looking at shipping that day. Note that they never said they shipped, just looking at shipping. I've asked for confirmation and a tracking number twice but have received nothing. This has gone from a plausible issue of COVID interruptions to something much simpler. This vendor does not care.

Very poor online experience, ***. I placed an order 12 days ago and it shows as processing in the dashboard. There is no indication when it will be shipped. They have stopped taking calls and an email to them gets an automatic response saying it may take two weeks to respond. Of course there is no way to cancel the order from my dashboard so I am stuck for a $600 piece of gear with them. I understand that due to COVID-19 things are slow but selling goods and then going radio silent is not good business practice, whether there is a crisis or not.

I really have to start clicking on Revdex.com reviews before trying to do business with a company.

This company had no indication on their website that they were out of stock on 3 out of the 4 items that I attempted to order. That didn't stop them from charging my credit card for the entire order. Several days after I told them to cancel the order they contacted me to see if I wanted to proceed with the single item that would be completely useless without the other items.

I picked this website because of what it said on their website, and because they are Canadian. However they did not follow their own said commitment to their customers. Even when product needed to be returned as it was delivered too late, it was/is not hassle free. I am still trying to return the product.....with over 15 emails of them apologizes or coming up with excuses. I am hoping that by reaching out in this form I will get some sort of response and close this ongoing never ending problem. This has been far from easy

They *** keep your funds hostage by sending you partial and/or wrong parts.
They call your parts "special order" (key word for MADE IN /SHIPPED FROM CHINA) for the simple parts, for a very prolific vehicle.
I have been corresponding with the team of "experts".

Date Placed Order 2020-05-29 today is 2020-07-03 (35 days so far) waiting for parts and only partial product arrived and even that is different from what my order is...go figure.

customer service is non existence, order processing 1 week+ with no progress on an item that's suppose to be shipped from Canada, what's worse is the no response from customer service. terrible company, 1st and last time to ever shop ever.

Ordered my parts on June 01, 2020. Still have not received half my order as of June 29, 2020. Emailed last week for an update, no response. Emailed again today for a refund, we'll see how long that takes?

horrible service. ordered over 3 weeks ago and not a reply. tried to cancel and won't let you. still says processing. called and says they are closed but to email. Have emailed several times and not a single reply. Filed a *** claim as I see on their *** page there are several people commenting on there that have been waiting for months and no refunds or contact.

Refused to provide a refund in timely matter despite several follow-ups (been waiting 2 weeks for a product that never even shipped)

Apologies for the delayed refund on this order, the part had to be cancelled with the manufacturer as this was special ordered with them. We are super swamped with orders and understaffed due to the COVID situation, under normal circumstances this would have been resolved more quickly.

I ordered a part for my engine rebuild on May 9th. It is now June 10th and I emailed 3 times and called 4 times. No answers or replies. I bought the part locally as I was waiting over a month and it still haven't shipped. I told them in 2 separate emails to cancel my order and issue me a full refund and then the next day they shipped the parts and ignored my request. ***. Be better t dot. Wasting my time and money does not make me want to give you business.

Ordered a set of taillights for my truck on April 28/20 (my *** card was charged April 28). First issue was that I was to receive a 10% discount which was not credited prior to the charge to my ***. Their phone lines were not operational due to COVID so I started an email exchange. The last email from TDOT was on May 6 confirming this was a valid discount and a credit memo would be issued within 24-48 hours. I followed by email on May 19 and still nothing.
The second issue is I received the order on May 11 and the one taillight was damaged when I opened the package and right away I emailed along with a picture of the damaged part. Tdot promptly asked for more pictures which I also provided promptly. On May 12 Tdot emailed that they were setting up a warranty claim and advised it could take "8-10 business days for return instructions (manufacturer approval is required to process the return)". 10 business was on May 27 so I sent a follow up email and have receive no reply and of course their phone lines are still off.
What I want is a replacement pair of taillights in perfect condition, and no shipping costs to me if I have to return the damaged ones and a credit to my *** account for the 10% original discount. A cheque from Tdot would also be acceptable.

Thank you for your patience first and foremost. We have been overburdened with email requests and are trying out best to catch up.

I have gone ahead and set up an exchange and they will be shipping out tomorrow. We have a *** claim set up with the package you have currently. You may not need to return that. I will keep you updated there. *** might come by to inspect the package.

My apologies for all the delays.

Ordered *** exhaust kit. After 2 days of emailing them asking why the order was stuck on "processing" they responded saying it would be a 30-60 day wait. I asked for a refund to order elsewhere and they charged my card and stopped responding to my emails. Emailed their helpdesk, Support line, sales desk and their *** representative with no response about my order.

I placed my order about a month ago with TDot Performance, for a bushing set for my car. When I tried to get shipping information to track my package their website would tell me I have no orders placed with them.

I have proof that I payed them over $250 CAD. I have tried to contact them over the phone, but they have shut down their phone lines, and I have emailed them many times without anything more than an automated response telling me that they appreciate my patience.

Desired Outcome

I would like either a tracking number so I can see whats happening with my order Or for a member of their staff to get back to me with a refund for my order if it hasn't been placed

Hello.

My apologies on the delays. I do see this was refunded. I just wanted to follow up with you to explain that we have been overburdened with email and return requests that we have been playing catch up. When a special order gets placed, we obviously have no control over the wait time of the product since it is coming directly from the manufacturer. They do not tell us that an item is further back ordered until we ourselves check up on it.

When you contacted us, we contacted the manufacturer and they told us this order was further back ordered at which point you wanted a refund which we obliged. I appreciate your patience in this matter and just wanted to let you know our process.

I hope this doesn't deter you from ordering in the future at TDot.

I ordered a part on April 2 and they said 10 to 15 days to deliver. A month later nothing and every time I contacted them I got *** answers. Finally I could not wait any longer and bought the part locally. I told them I no longer needed the part and then it shows up, Told them I wanted to return it and said ok but I would need to pay for shipping. I said I did not think that was fair since they did not hold up their end by delivering the part in a reasonable time frame. No one responded to that they just said the return label was being processed. Here I am 19 days after asking to return the part and nothing and they will not even email me back. This is the worst service I have ever received these guys are not even trying.

Hello,

This part was ordered on the 10 of April by the customer, we did advise him that this part had to be special ordered from the manufacturer with at estimated ETA of 10-15 business days, unfortunately the shipment from the manufacturer was delayed multiple times due to COVID related delays with the courier. Under normal conditions this would have been delivered with in the time frame we provided. I understand the delay with the return request is unacceptable and we do apologize, we are working with limited staff due to this Pandemic and thing are a lot slower than usual. We have sent over return instructions including a pre-paid shipping label to get this off your hands, you will be refunded once this comes back.
