I am rejecting this response because Evie (RiteRug) has verbally committed to paying for the entire restoration

In response to the request from the customer for "$493" in compensation instead of the original request for "$450.00" As a policy adjustment, we will process a $price adjustment This adjustment will be processed on receipt of the signed claims release form

Rite Rug regrets, we have not reached a mutual agreement with *** *** on his flooring installation. We hired an independent, certified inspection service to evaluate this flooring. The inspection was scheduled for July 21. To date, we have not received the inspector's
report/evaluation. As soon as we receive the report, we will contact Mr*** along with your office to determine our next step in this matter

Rite Rug along with the flooring manufacturer, "Armstrong" have determined the issues in this flooring are not manufacturer or installation related issues. We are submitting a copy of the letter dated "September 10, 2015" from the laminate flooring manufacturer, "Armstrong" stating:
" After reviewing we have determined this is not a warranty issue as no manufacturing defects were present." (copy sent via email). The laminate flooring was installed 10/7/2013. The month labor warranty expired on 10/7/2014. This flooring was inspected by Rite Rug's Customer Service Representative along with a representative from the manufacturer. Moisture and humidity levels in the home were taken at this time. The humidity level in the home was 67% , which is above the recommended 35% to 55% humidity level that is needed to maintain the integrity of the laminate. The laminate itself had a moisture reading of - 13%, which again is above the acceptable levels of 6% - 8%. The moisture readings in the joints of the laminate was an even higher 13% - 15%. At this time, it was recommended to the homeowner to invest in a dehumidifier for their home. The issues in this laminate floor are not related to the manufacturing or the installation. They are caused by sources inside the home environment

8/21/ Rite Rug authorized a full credit of "345.10" on this carpet, purchased 10/22/ The original cost of the current carpet and padding was "$795.13" plus labor "$184.20" & taxes "$73.45" This credit will be applied towards a new carpet selection by the
customer There will not be a charge for new padding, as the original padding will be used There will not be a charge to rip up and remove the current carpet, along with no charge to move furniture Rite Rug sent the customer a re-selection letter on "July 24, 2017" A copy of this letter can be forwarded to your office, if needed All warranties are provided by the manufacturer's not the retailers This is a material warranty issue

They have completed the project

The flooring contract on this job was with Rite Rug & *** *** Rite Rug warrants our carpet installations for months This carpet was installed 8/8/with the warranty expiring 8/8/ As a consumer goodwill gesture, Rite Rug will offer, at no charge, to
send a service technician to this home to restretch the remaining carpet Providing the homeowner move all the furniture to accomplish the repair We will offer this service for half a day in labor, if needed

I just saw the message that my dispute is closed and says “the consumer remains dissatisfied.” Complaint # ***.I am sorry that I wasn’t able to reply to the first message in time, but I would like to adjust this complaintI am satisfied with the repairs that they agreed to and will be coming out in the next few weeks to solve our problem!!I only think it is fair to the business to adjust the status to reflect my satisfaction.I would like to thank the Revdex.com for helping me to resolve this problem! Thanks!*** ***

2/7/ Rite Rug's Customer Service Department left Mr*** a voice mail message asking to schedule the dining room replacement After this replacement is completed, we will consider the request for compensation due to inconveniences

Revdex.com -Your closure of this complaint (#***) is not appropriate or acceptable The fact
that Rite Rug finally got around to completing the installation a month after it was due does not address our complaint You should require businesses to answer all the issues in a complaint, not just the parts that allow them to feel comfortable in addressing They didn't even apologize for the delays, the mistakes, and the additional cost we incurred This complaint has NOT been resolved Rite Rug owes us compensation for the actual cost of the vacation time taken, and for the inconvenience and nuisance of repeatedly having to deal with them to get them to finally do what they were paid in advance to do in the first place

*** *** contracted with Rite Rug Cofor the carpet in this home in November, Rite Rug extends a month warranty on the carpet This warranty expired in November, Issues with the carpet were addressed and taken care of during the warranty period There is nothing
further that we can offer after the warranty period expires Any requested repairs after the warranty expires are on a COD basis

Dear ***, We complained to the Revdex.com because Rite Rug continues to not respond to our phone calls and we have no evidence that the carpet manufacturer has been contacted We were told that the carpet manufacturer would get back to us in a "couple of weeks" It has not been a couple of months with absolutely no communication from Rite Rug or the carpet manufacturer The carpet was bought with a crush resistant warranty Apart from waiting for a call from the manufacturer, is there anything we can do to resolve this issue with Rite Rug? What if the manufacturer never replies to our complaint? We purchased the flooring from Rite Rug We have no relationship with the manufacturer What do you suggest we do? Best, ***

Rite Rug company continues to work with the customer on this flooring purchase We will replace the vinyl flooring, at a mutually agreed on date Our offer to replace the carpet with their original carpet selection still stands The original carpet selection was special order Since we were not able to receive the carpet in time to meet the customer's deadline, the wife placed an order for a second choice carpet

Rite Rug's Customer Service Representative spoke with Mr*** last week and attempted to schedule an appointment for an inspector to evaluate this job At this time, the customer declined this and asked for a full refund Rite Rug seeks the opportunity to work with the customer on
the flooring issues and complete the job, to industry standards According to the terms and conditions of our contract, item #states: " In the event of a complaint, the obligation, if any, of Rite Rug Coshall be at its option, to repair or replace, and this obligation is specifically conditioned upon its being granted reasonable opportunity to inspect, remove for testing, and/or examine the installation in question You may be entitled to other warranties under the laws of Ohio."We are declining the request for a "full refund"Along with removal & return of the materials

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me
Regards,
*** ***

Rite Rug's Customer Service Department contacted the customer, scheduled and completed an appointment to evaluate this job. We are currently working with the customer on resolving the flooring issues. Special order materials are on order and repairs/replacements will be scheduled, as
soon as possible

I am rejecting this response because no update has been provided in over a week Although I appreciate the professional response and assistance from their customer care department associate, the issue remains unresolved. On November 2nd an inspector came to the residence at 4pm as agreed to The inspector quickly determined the carpet was severely damaged and per his guidelines attempted to clean it After some time he said it was not making the issue go away He said he would send his final report in shortly Today is the 6th business day were no update has been provided To close this complaint, I request an installation appointment for an upcoming Saturday The initial issue was sent to Rite Rug on September and remains unresolved almost weeks later Rite Rug has in the past not taken timely action and this complaint must stay openFor example, after having a discussion with Rite Rug about the Revdex.com complaint they determined they did not pass along my issue until after I followed up with them again on October That was nearly three weeks after the issue was brought to their attention.Regards,

8/22/ Rite Rug sincerely regrets the installer punctured a water pipe, which was under the customer's floor, during the hardwood floor installation Rite Rug nor the installer would not have any knowledge of what is under the customer's floor or where any pipes are located
prior to or during the installation The flooring manufacturer along with The National Hardwood Association require a standard size anchor on the installations of new hardwood floors The plumbing in this year old home is not up to code The code requires inch space between pipes and the subfloor. Here is the code, which was researched under Ohio laws for plumbing: Protection against physical damage In concealed locations where piping, other than cast-iron or galvanized steel, is installed through holes or notches in studs, joists, rafters or similar members less than 1/inches (38mm) from the nearest edge of the member, the pipe shall be protected by steel shield plates Such shield plates shall have a thickness of not less than inch (1.463mm) (nogage) Such plates shall cover the area of the pipe where the member is notches or bored, and shall extend a minimum of inches (51mm) above sole plates and below top plates *** Since the plumbing in the house was not up to code and we did not have any way of knowing where the pipes were located, under the floor, this complaint is declined

Rite Rug sincerely regrets and apologizes for the installation issues stated in this complaint As a consumer goodwill gesture, we will process the refund request, in the amount of "$1925.00" Our Customer Service Department will contact the homeowner to schedule the
requested repairs

Rite Rug Company will replace the customer's bathroom floor, with a flooring from Rite Rug. This is a policy adjustment, due to damages from the installer. We will require the customer to sign and return a claims release form in this matter
