House of Flynn is a wonderful business! I have purchased three bags from their website and they are all phenomenalThey hold all my gear, and one bag is super heavy and it's never broken or given wayI've been using them for about two years now and I know I will continue to shop there for many years to come! Ordered a mermaid tail bag, and is HANDS DOWN the best tail bag I've ever used (and I've used many monofin bags)The owner was incredibly prompt with sending out the order and shipping only took a couple days! I can fit all my fabric tails and monofins (tails) in at once (largest is a mahina and smallest being a finis monofin)!! It is so roomy and perfect, that even when the main area is full, I can put up to massive mermaid bras (clamshell, abalone, and silicone seaweed), my shawl, my gap wrap, and my buisness cards all in at the same time!! Would DEFINETLY recommend HOF for any mer needing to transport a tail!!

I don't feel this Revdex.com rating is an accurate representation of this company They provide fantastic customer service, the bags I've received are phenomenal quality and the community of House of Flynn customers is wonderful as well If you have any concerns before making the investment, I urge you to talk to their customer service or hunt the group down on Facebook to get feedback directly from daily users of HOF products

I, like others, had my bag strap break - mine happened literally the first time I used itThey replaced the strap after a lot of "miscommunication" on their part, though it took a long time and almost didn't make it before my tripAll of the hardware on my bag is plastic, not metal and just doesn't hold the proper amount of weight for what it's designed to carryMy bag also started peeling a couple months after I received itIt spends most of its life protected in a glass cabinet and has barely been usedFor the price, I expect much better quality and a return policy that protects the customer too, not only the companyI find myself carrying the handles on my bag, even with the strap on my shoulder because my camera is my life - I just can't trust thousands of dollars to such an unpredictable bagThe company removed the reviews section from the Facebook page after bad reviews began collecting with similar experiences (I have screenshots of them - including photographers from HOF's Facebook group attacking people who left negative reviews)
Here's the timeline of my experience:
7/1/- Ordered a presale bag for a trip on 8/
7/13/- Shipped
8/- First time loading and using bag after an illness and the strap piece immediately broke with only a camera body and 50mm lens in itPosted in the Tribe about a temporary fix for my trip until I could get a new strap and the post was deleted (that's fine - I guess it broke the group rules)Maureen posted in the group later that day asking who I was so that she could send a new strap out in time for my trip
8/19/- With one week until my trip and no strap or correspondence, I emailed customer service to check the statusI got this in response: "Our records indicate that we sent you the return PDF to send back your bagWere you told something else?" (my bag didn't need to be returned & I never received this return PDF anyway)After a few emails back and forth, I was told "I will check with the shipping department to make sure a strap was sent outI will send you tracking information as soon as I have it!"
8/22/- Emailed again to check status after not hearing backReminded them I purchased a bag in July for a trip I was leaving for in three days
8/23/- Received tracking number, only showed that it had left the warehouse so I asked for an ETA to see if it would even get there before I left or if I needed to hustle to find a backup optionThis was the response: "I just checked your tracking number and it has been picked up form our warehouseOnce it leaves the warehouse we no longer have control over the packagePlease check your tracking information in the morning and see if it has been further updatedOnce it does arrive though I am confident you will love it! Thanks again for your support of House of FlynnSmiles, House of Flynn"
My reply: "Sorry, I should phrased that differentlyI was wondering if you could tell me how long the shipping will take, or a general rangeI need to figure out either a different strap or a different bag for my trip in two days if the strap doesn't get here in time."
HOF: "We ship USPS Priority and generally speaking it takes a few daysNormally within hours of shipping out there will be a more ETA via USPS tracking info provided on their websiteHope this helps!"
Not helpful at allThe strap arrived to me hours before I was set to leave though nothing would have ever been done and I would never have received a strap at all if I hadn't have had to nag their customer service department multiple times
The *** "tribe" was the rudest group I've been in to this dayIt's what caused me to leave it - the cult vibe is creepyI have never left a review because of the tribe's tendency to go on the attack on Maureen's behalf but I know that if there were fair reviews online, I would have never purchased from themRemoving the Facebook review section is what inspired this review
HOF should focus less on diversifying their business(es) and more on getting their products right - they do have potentialThat is how you gain repeat customersBeing trendy comes and goesFor such expensive bags, it's not ethical to use their customers as guinea pigs (based on Maureen's recent HOF *** post about her growth as a bag-maker and her past mistakes - including her mention of faulty straps)I get compliments on my bag every time I use it and instead of referring them to HOF like I wanted to, I tell them about my bad experienceAnother thing that needs work: company communication, both to customers and among themselvesIf you're going on vacation and your business closes temporarily for that vacation, you need to announce that in places other than a private *** group
If you do choose to purchase a bag or clothes, be sure to read the FAQ section on the websiteThe return policy is very strict and short and actually includes a warning, "your purchase is at you own risk."
