The Kohler Company Reviews (82)

Review: Purchased two Kohler toilet seats. Both were scratched all over lids. Contacted Kohler representative who said she would replace them. Two new seats were sent. They were damaged more than the original seats. There were chips and large scratches in the seats. I called and was told (by Amy, on 7/20/15 that the company would do a "special order" and send me good seats. They wanted me to send photos of the damaged seats, which I did. On 8/6/15 I sent another email with the photos again attached and got a replay that their email box was full and couldn't accept anything. I sent a third request 8/15/15 with no response. I called them again on 8/27 and was told to send one photo at a time (there were two). On 9/7/15 there was still no answer and I never heard from them again. I am 71 years old and this is too much for me. The seats cost $49.27 and $56.01 plus 6% massachusetts tax. Their order number is:

File # 2844056Desired Settlement: I spent a lot more money on 3 toilets, 5 sinks. I think they should refund my money because they could not do what they said and send me seats that are not damaged or scratched.

Response:

the person at Kohler called me and he said he was going to get me some new, undamaged seats. He said he would get back to me. So I am waiting to hear from him that what he says is true. With the run-around I had before, I will not believe him until I see proof, like a shipping notice for the seats.

Review: Last October I purchased a Kohler SV601 20 HP engine for my lawn tractor. It is a terrific engine and I love the Kohler engines. After less than 100 hours of operation the engine quit. I found that there was no spark coming from the ignition module (part number 20-584-03-S. I replaced the ignition module with one from the old Kohler engine that I had replaced. The engine now works perfectly.

The engine has a two year warranty. I called the vendor - [redacted] (###-###-####) and they said I had to take a receipt to a local dealer for warranty replacement of the part. I do not need to have the engine serviced. I only wanted a part. The local dealer could not replace the part without me taking my tractor to the dealer. This would be very difficult because I do not have a trailer to take the tractor to the dealer.

I tried for several hours to contact Kohler Customer service and was unsuccessful. One number kept asking for my zip code repeatedly even after I entered it repeatedly. Another number said that they were too busy to take calls.

When I was researching my engine problem, I came across another person who had to replace the coil after less than 100 hours of operation. I wanted to make sure that Kohler was aware of a potential problem, but there was no way that I could seem to contact them.

I bought a replacement ignition module from Amazon for $27.64. It is not an expensive part and I am still very happy with my engine.

I would be satisfied if Kohler made some effort to improve their customer service. The Vendor stated that they receive many calls complaining of Kohler's customer service.

[redacted] 5/9/16Desired Settlement: I would like Kohler to be aware of the problem with the ignition module. I would also like Kohler to make sure that contacting them with a concern is not impossible.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I heard back from Kohler and they sent me a replacement part. The complaint has been satisfactorily resolved and I am satisfied.

Review: I purchased a Husqvarna Lawnmower from Sears with a Courage Engine 597CC on 4/21/12. We have 81 hours on the engine and it appears to have blown up. The mower has been backfiring and leaking oil on the muffler and smoking real bad. After speaking with lawn repair shops in our area, we have been informed that the Courage Engine is a Junk Engine and no repair will hold. We have checked with the Revdex.com in Indiana and they have 51 complaints on this engine in the last 3 years. We would like to invoke the Lemon Law and get a refund...if the repairs to this engine do not last. I have been told that 80 hours is nothing on an engine and that the engine manufacturer should make it good.Desired Settlement: I would like complete refund on this lawn mower so I can go and purchase a new lawn mower. We purchased this lawn mower at Sears...but do not think Sears should be liable since this is clearly an engine issue.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is not completely satisfactory to me. Kohler has contacted us and Complete Outdoor Equipment in Terre Haute to pickup and diagnose the problems with our lawn mower. We are waiting to hear from them to determine what repairs are deemed necessary and confirmation of what Kohler agrees to cover. Once we are happy with the outcome, we will inform the Revdex.com. Until then, we cannot be completely satisfied that the issue will be resolved.

Review: Required This complaint involves:

(1) three glass sinks made by Kohler and sold by Blackman, Blackman Quotation # 9027994 and 9027920, Kohler complaint # 2495276

(2) Blackman’s sale of Brizos clicker drains connections to those sinks,Blackman sales order 93033403

(3) master bathroom shower items made by Kohler and sold by Blackman, Blackman Quotation Order 9027920

Three Glass Sinks

The three whisk sinks turned out to be see through so that the pluming in the vanities

can be seen by the user of the sink. When we bought the whist under mount sinks the

saleslady (Ms [redacted]) in Blackman’s Bohemia location, did not have a Kohler whisk glass sink as a model. We were shown a different glass model sink that was not see through. We bought the sinks and paid in excess of $309.93 for each one. When the installation took place on December 31st 2014, the plumber brought to our attention that the sinks he was installing were see through, that is you can look through the sink and see the pluming and inside of the vanity. While the plumber was installing the sinks, he informed us that the sprout connections for Brizos which were supplied by Blackman are incompatible with an unmounted glass sink. Blackman’s sales associate had sold the sprout connections as correct for the whist sink.

Clicker drain w/o overflow

We called Blackman and the plumber spoke to the Blackman associate explaining the

mix up. Blackman denied any responsibility but offered to provide three correct clicker drains

for glass sinks unmounted. They charged us $187.70 for replacements of what Brizos sent us.

They also said it was Kohler’s problem.

Master Bedroom Shower

This involves the malfunction of the following items: Rite Temp press bal vlv, Lourerite Temp Valve, Loure Trandsfer valve and transfer valve master bathroom made by Kohler and sold by Blackman, Blackman Quotation 9027920. When the master bedroom shower handle is turned to the left, it becomes limp and will not provide the range of hot water or consistency which it should do if not defective.

Attempts to Resolve

Blackman denies all responsibility for any of the above. Kohler offered under complaint # 2495276 a convoluted gesture that involved taking back the sinks, paying $ 300 for the extraction and installation of three replacement sinks. This offer is not satisfactory since the whisk sink samples presented to us as substitutes are all see through sinks. In addition, the removal of the current sinks involve pluming charges and alterations of the vanities that exceeds Kohler’s offer. Kohler’s offer was made without accepting liability.

Kohler’s liability is for manufacturing glass sinks that are see through, that is these whisk

sinks are not fit for the purpose for which they are sold by Kohler. Blackman’s responsibility is

for selling these sinks by withholding and concealing the fact that they are see through. As for

the Brizo clicker drain w/o overflow being incompatible with a glass unmounted sink that is

specifically Blackman’s liability. Blackman’s employee advised the use of this item and took

the orders on one form and knew or should have known that they were

incompatible.

I attempted an amiable resolution of these issues. Blackman denies all responsibility for any of the above. Kohler offered under complaint # 2495276 a convoluted gesture that involved taking back the sinks, paying $ 300 for the extraction and installation of replacement sinks. This offer is not satisfactory since the whisk sink samples presented to us as substitutes are all see through sinks. In addition, the removal of the current sinks involve plumbing charges and alterations of the vanities that Kohler will not reimburse.

Solutions

The solution for these problems are:

a refund of the costs of the three whisk sinks , that is $929.79. I have no problem with

Kohler or Blackman retrieving the sinks from the vanities. Both Kohler and Blackman are jointly

responsible for additional pluming expenses caused by their defective products.

(2) Refund by Blackman of the $187.70 which was the paid for the clicker drain w/o overflow

(3) Kohler and or Blackman refunding $572.93 for the defective master bedroom shower

temperature control handle and associated pluming expenses to fix same.

For record keeping purposes Blackman sold these products under account # 12355 to

JD Associates our GC for the work on our house.Desired Settlement: Refund and payment of pluming expenses to emery defective products

Review: I currently own and use weekly 6 gas powered lawn tools; a Craftsman mower I purchased used in 2006, an Echo weed eater and Echo blower I purchased new in 2012, a McClane edger, a Cub Cadet riding mower I purchased new in 2013 and this Husqvarna self-propelled mower I purchased new in 2014. Using the same fuel for all of these tools, only the Husqvarna mower failed to start this summer and required service before seasonal usage within this first year of ownership. When I took this mower to the service facility on 18 July, I informed the service facility on that this mower was recently purchased and still under warranty. I was told the service center would check out my mower and the warranty, and get back to me. When next contacted by the service center, I was told the repair was not covered under warranty. I asked for any related information. Upon pickup, I was provided a copy of the Kohler Engines service bulletin dated 12/04 that read ”Effective with this bulletin, all submitted warranty claims from engines that have been in service for more than two months or are in their second season, must be for an identifiable defect in material or workmanship.” Had I had any knowledge of this service bulletin, or received a copy of this bulletin at the time of purchase or within the return to store policy period, I would not have purchased this mower at this price with this flimsy warranty or would have returned it within the store return policy period. Given this may be a recurring service or repair cost relative to normal usage, I am concerned about the repair cost, value and reliability of this product and how these factors impact future cost of ownership.

Business

Response:

Our Engines Group has thoroughly examined your report and has determined the issue was not a result of a ‘warrantable defect’ and was outside of our control. Additional notes from the Engines Group indicate the issue is likely resulting from fuel breakdown or contamination. The need to clean the carb or fuel system generally results in situations like this. Kohler has made a consideration outside of its manufacturing warranty in assisting with cost of the carb as mentioned below. We believe we have been fair in our effort to address this issue and are unable to assist with the remainder of the billing from the dealer. If you have further questions concerning the care and maintenance of your product, consider reaching out to the Engines Customer Service group at ###-###-#### Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm central time. Review: I purchased a Kohler sensor toilet from Home Depot on 7/10/2015 and paid for installation thru Home Depot. A-1 installers came on 7/18 to install. The toilet worked for 2 days and then would no longer flush. I replaced batteries it still would not flush. I contacted A-1 they sent me to Home Depot. I contacted Home Depot and they called Kohler. Home Depot asked me to call Kohler directly to trouble shoot. When I called Kohler they created a file # which I will not include as your website says not to include identifiable information. She asked me what color the box was that holds the batteries, I told her black. She said I had the old box and she was going to ship me the new updated battery box with a new tank lid. It would take 7-10 days. I stated this was not acceptable that because of their defective product I would have to wait 7-10 days for use of my toilet. I told her I wanted overnight shipping. She refused unless I paid for it. She said on this one time exception she would waive the $24.99 fee for 2 day shipping. Although it is Monday I should receive by Thurs or Friday which means no toilet for 4 to 5 days. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused. I asked for the phone # to headquarters to speak to vice president or president and she refused. She said I could only talk to customer service. I called Home Depot back and told them about my experience. Home Depot called Kohler back and spoke to the original person they dealt with and receive the same response.Desired Settlement: I would like to know why this is their customer service practice and be compensated for the time away from work to deal with this problem and the extreme inconvenience of not having a working toilet due to defect of their brand new toilet.

Review: I bought a KOHLER Deerfield Double-Basin Drop-in EnameLED Cast Iron Kitchen Sink, from Lowe's Home Center LLC,on April 7,2015 which it states scratch resistant exc ... I haven't had it not even for a month and its scratched up just by putting the dishes in it .. I called the manufacturer and they send me a CAST IRON CLEANER A SAMPLE .. The representative said if I wanted more I could purchase some or racks to go in my sinks which when I bought it ,it don't state I need to buy extra to keep it from scratching .. Lowe's said I could return it ,but I don't think its fair I paid $100 to get professionally installed if I go buy another one I have to repay again to get installed ... The sink was very heavy and it took 2 people to install it ..Desired Settlement: I would like kohler to replace the sink and they pay someone to come install a new one and not to be defected to be scratch resistant how it states when we bought it or atleast I get reimbursed half the money I paid for the sink...

Review: I have a kohler coralais shower faucet that is leaking and caused already some water damage. I have contacted Kohler to ask for replacement parts free of charge but they denied my request. The faucet comes with lifetime warranty and I think Kohler should fulfill this warranty providing a fix for the leak or replacement.Desired Settlement: Provide replacement parts to fix the leaky faucet or a whole replacement.

Dear Mr. [redacted], Thank you for contacting the Kohler Co concerning your Coralais bath/shower faucet. I received a Revdex.com concern recently concerning your issue. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Can you close it as "resolved". I have received the replacement parts.

Review: I have attempted to contact Kohler engine by calling 1 800 544 2444 as indicated on their website. This number directs me to a dealer or to their parts distributor without the option of speaking to a rep. In thinking outside the box I contacted kohler plumbing and they would not provide a direct number to kohler engine but would transfer me. In being transferred I was transferred to the technical services area which as soon as I identified myself as being a consumer transferred me to the prompts of being directed back to a dealer or parts distributor which can not assist with my issue. As a result this has prompted me to file my issue/complaint directly with the Revdex.com which does not relate to the my customer service experience.

Complaint Background: I purchased a troy bilt super bronco from our local lowes. I have used it every summer for the last 6 years on my half acre lot between 7 to 10 times which does not contain hills or difficult terrain. It has been sheltered in my shed when not in use and maintenance has been performed routinely as indicated in the manual.

Review: I recently took my mower to a repair shop because oil was not holding in the motor after checking prior to mowing. So I added more oil, checked the dipstick and off I went. After ten minutes of mowing I found the motor running hotter than normal. In checking the oil I found that it was low. I received a call this morning from my repair shop advising the motor has a crack in the short block near the valve cover and I went over and saw it myself. In researching this issue I found my occurrence of a cracked block to be common in their kohler "courage" line of motors. It seems they have been using less expensive parts in their motors meant for mass distribution at stores such as Lowe's to keep costs down.

Repair: I was informed to fix this issue the shop would have to replace the engine which would cost $900 for the engine not including labor. The cost to fix this would be 85% of what it would cost to purchase the same mower at lowe's. As a consumer when you purchase an item of this expense and for residential normal use you expect the product to be reliable. Sad part is I purchased the mower not because of the troy bilt name but because of the Kohler name based on their reliability.Desired Settlement: I would like for Kohler to stand by their name and product, as they have on the plumbing side, and cover all costs to replace and repair. I understand when items are manufactured by a company all testing was done to their satisfaction at that time but with this impacting the masses that have purchased this courage engine line a mass recall should be done. It's the right thing to do.

Regards,

As a handyman, I was called by a friend because her kitchen floor was covered with water. The cold water supply hose on her faucet was leaking above the fitting connection at the valve. It could not be fixed. Since the manufacturing date on the faucet was Dec 5, 2005, we figured we should just buy a new one.
We went to Home Depot to purchase a new faucet, We found a Forte model similar to the model she had, at a reasonable price. At this point the rep at Home Depot suggested we call Kohler for warranty information.
We called Kohler on April 16 and talked to [redacted] (not sure of spelling). She was friendly, sympathetic, and very professional. After a few product related questions, She determined a new faucet was warranted, no charge. [redacted] rushed the shipment, no charge. We installed the new faucet on April 18.
This was in no doubt the best experience I ever had with a company. Kohler stands behind their warranty. they provide excellent customer service. They have wonderful products. What more could you want from a company?

Review: I purchased a toilet bowl that came with the k 1954 touchless flush . since then puerchase was june 6 2015 I continue to have problems with the k-1954 model touchless flush I am on my 4th replacement the product keeps flushing on it own I contacted kolher in the past customer service was amazing they did help me out by sending me 2 replacement parts. both parts have failed once again I am willing to send the parts over to kohler so they can keep testing them.. as of now kohler has no fix to resolve my issue..Desired Settlement: kohler needs to either send me a lifetime supply of k-1954 touchless flush sensor because my toilet bowl is only configured to operate with this device so either they hire a plumber to replace the toilet to a different one or send me a life time supply of touchless flush so I can have enough of them to replace them because they don't last more then 3 months and I own a home so I need this asap .

Review: Defective Kohler toilet parts on properly registered toilet.

I purchased 2 Kohler Wellworth toilets from Lowes in March. Installed the first toilet in my main floor bath - no issues or problems. Installed 2nd toilet in upper story bath and from initial install there is a slow internal leak. Completed extensive internet research and troubleshooting. Called Kohler in April to register the toilets and discuss the issue. 1rst rep was nice and said she would email troubleshooting guides. Had to call back the next day when guides did not arrive. Email was incorrect. Troubleshooting guides arrived. Followed instructions. Both tests failed. Called Kohler again. This rep rude, condescending and implied I did not complete proper troubleshooting. Attempted to troubleshoot while on the line with her. She grew impatient and said she would mail replacement parts. That was 5/2. Assigned tracking [redacted]. To date NO parts have been received. Checked online tracking 2 different times and both times it indicates my parts would be mailed at some future date (aka nothing was shipped). Received email from Kohler to rate their customer service on 5/13. Completed survey and decided that as I now have to go buy my own parts I would file a Revdex.com complaint.Desired Settlement: I am going to the hardware store on my home today to buy the replacement parts to fix my toilet. According to Kohler's website these parts will cost me $35.19 plus tax. Incidentally this is 1/5 of the way towards buying a brand new toilet...

Review: I ordered a Parchment color shower pan on August 8 2014 thru a local plumbing supply house. The pan and the shower drain cover were scheduled for delivery 8 weeks later ( approx Oct 8th 2014)

As of today January 9 2015 I still do not have the corresponding drain cover.

We have called and called. In mid December I insisted on some type of drain cover until mine original order was delivered.

Kohler shipped a white one.

I called Kohler on January 5 2015 and customer service is telling me that it will be at least another 28 days.

Ridiculous !! 6 months or more ???? THey have been paid in full. They did not advise me that it would be 6 months to receive the product otherwise I would have picked a different product!Desired Settlement: I would like the drain cover in the color I ordered, if not the color I ordered then order me one in brushed stainless steel.

I would like a sincere apology.

Good

Afternoon,

My

name is [redacted] and I work at Kohler Co.

I

am the lead agent that works with Revdex.com concerns for Kohler

Co.

I

have reviewed your concern and certainly want to express my apologies for the extended

timeframe the cover has taken. I would like explore further why the cover has

taken so long to ship and when you should expect it.

To

do this, I will need the following data:

Your

place of purchase

The

Purchase Order # of the order your place of purchase made with Kohler Co.

The

date of the Purchase Order

Thank

you in advance for this information.

I purchased two Kohler cimmaron comfort height toilets. Nine months after the purchase and installation I got a phone call from the city telling me my water meter was spinning out of control and I had used 55,000 gallons of water in less than 30 days!!! I normally use under 2000 gallons. The problem was a flawed and defective fill valve. There had been no sound of running water and no movement in the bowl or the tank, unlike a traditional flapper type toilet and as everything happens inside a virtually closed valve, I had no way of knowing it was running. My water bill came to over $700.00!!!! I am senior and living on a fixed income and this is devastating. Lowe's replaced the toilets with American Standard after the plumber warned me Kohler have a lot of problems. Along with getting a guarantee refund from Kohler, Lowe's put a lot of effort into negotiating with Kohler to compensate me for the excess water bill which was due entirely to the faulty product. I have documentation to back up the amount in excess beyond my regular water bill which averages $20 per month. Kohler refused. As a result, Lowe's went above and beyond, offering me $200 to help towards my loss, something they did not have to do as they had fulfilled their guarantee obligations. Avoid Kohler unless you want to risk a similar outcome. Defective product, total lack of concern for their customers. I'd give a negative star rating if it was possible.

Review: Good Afternoon,

In February of 2014, we purchase Kohler K331-4M-AF faucet, and Kohler K6525-AF.

As per the Kohler warranty statement, these product comes with a 'limited lifetime warranty'.

While performing maintenance in our bathroom, we observe that the K6525-AF finish was discolored and tarnish.

I placed a call to the customer service line, and I was informed that this product was not cover by the warranty,

and I was offered the option to buy a similar product, that was completely different in both finish and style, than the product that I have. The representative offered for me to pay add additional $178 for a 'part' which I refuse.

I belive Kohler is committing a grand scale of 'bait and switch', in addition to honoring it's documented 'limited lifetime warranty', and believe I'm affected by this deceitful practice.

After spending over $2500 for a bathroom faucet from Kohler, I'm very disappointed that kohler would require me to spend another $178.00 to fix a defective item that is cover by Kohler warranty.

Thank you.Desired Settlement: I'm requesting that Kohler replace the defective K6525-AF product or provide a full refund so I can acquire a replacement for the defective product from one of Kohler distributor.

Review: I purchased a Kohler faucet model R648-VS eight tears ago it started leaking in the housing of the faucet and water was leaking for some time before it was noticed,we contacted Kohler for a replacement faucet and asked if they wanted us to return the defected part and they said no so we discarded it ,four days later our hardwood flooring started to buckle on both sides of our island our counter top had already started to come apart but we did not know why because we had no seen any evidence of water leaking so when we contacted Kohler to help resolve the issue we were told that since we no longer had the part to send in that they could be of no assistance to us which I feel is unfair since we could not predict that we would have water damage to our hardwood flooring since that type of damage takes awhile to surface.Desired Settlement: be responsible for product liability

Review: I purchased Kohler showers, bathroom and sink faucets partially due to their lifetime warranties. My bathroom including the shower was remodeled 6 years ago using the Kohler Memoirs shower and sink faucet and towel hooks. The shower began leaking. My plumber came out and replaced the cartridge using a Kohler cartridge he got at a local supply house. It did not resolve the leak. He drove back and got another and tried it and it too did not resolve the leak. My licensed and reputable plumber and the owner both think the valve needs to be replaced too. Kohler will only send to me the exact same part already replaced twice. They refuse to send the valve so that when the plumber is doing the work if this part does not work a 3rd time, he can proceed fixing it with the valve which requires cutting a whole in my wall. Kohler will also not agree to pay for the plumbers time when he attempts to fix it with the same exact part for a 3rd. So I am on the hook for all of these attempts with Kohler parts. Kohler says that it matters because they didn't send the part themselves as if their are different Kohler parts at plumbing supply stores. All I want is for the valve to be on sight when he attempts to repair the leak a 3rd time so he can actually fix it once and for all.Desired Settlement: All I want is for the valve to be on sight when he attempts to repair the leak a 3rd time so he can complete the repair once and for all or that they pay for his time to fix it the3rd time using the part sent from them if it doesnt work.

Response:

Dear Ms [redacted], Thank you for contacting the Kohler Co. through the Revdex.com (Revdex.com)concerning the shower faucet. In reviewing your summary with the Revdex.com and Kohler's own customer file notes, your effort to resolve this has been significant. We apologize the faucet issue is not yet resolved. I propose Kohler send an Authorized Service Representative (ASR) to replace the cartridge with one provided by Kohler. If this does not resolve the issue, Kohler will consider the request to replace the faucet. We ask for our ASR to assist before moving forward. If you agree to this, we will dispatch the ASR and arrange for a visit. Thank you for this consideration.

Review: requested information on dates circuit boards were purchased and testing results on bad ones. Boards were under warranty. Information needed for N. California Revdex.com complaint #[redacted] which is against [redacted]. who has made false claims and dates.Desired Settlement: information requested

Response:

I am trying to get information on the circuit boards that were under warranty and replaced by [redacted] on our Kohler generator. Parts were covered and unknown to us or [redacted], we pay the labor. After 5 months we received an invoice for $1875.00. Because of the way this so called invoice was worded I sent our list of events with [redacted] to [redacted] at Kohler on 3/21/14, [redacted]'s (version #1) list of events or labor breakdown was made on (3/31/14) and [redacted]'s (version #2) is their Message from business to Revdex.com. Most of [redacted]'s information on the 3/31/14 letter is wrong and they lied. [redacted] stated they purchased 3 circuit boards and the unit was reinstalled 9/5/13. We were told by [redacted] parts department that 2 boards were purchased 9/13 and 9/28? An [redacted] tech wrote new board 9/17 in my owners manual. [redacted] also said I called them in Nov. saying we had another repeated trouble. [redacted] stated they came out replaced the board and worked on faulty wiring. I never called and they never came out. Our home is 5 years old and the wiring is new. This supposed visit is not even mentioned on their Message from business they sent to the Revdex.com. I did complain to [redacted] on their wiring job at the generator terminal block and the poor condition it was returned in. On 4/22/14 [redacted]'s email to me says [redacted] told him they found the wiring like this and left it that way. They also said our wiring was worn and damaged and they offered to repair it for a price and I refused. I told [redacted] this was a lie and I wanted to prove it. I sent both [redacted] and [redacted] at Kohler an email on 4/24/14 and suggested [redacted] and a [redacted] person come to our home and I would have a certified C-10 person here and we would all check my wiring. If my wiring is proven to be worn and damaged I would pay every ones service charge for coming out but if the wiring is proven not to be worn or damaged, [redacted] would pay every ones service charge. I did add "please respond". I never got a response from either one. I am being billed $1875.00 for labor and feel I should know the dates and the cause of the failed boards. I have more information if needed/

Review: I purchased a Toro lawnmower with a Kohler engine in August 2013. Engine started smoking and blew oil out through air filter. Toro directed me to take mower to Kohler dealer. I did this and they kept it for 3 weeks and told me it was not under warranty. I contacted Kohler and was told to take it to another dealer: Powell Power Equipment was listed as closest to me. The rep there offered to look at it IF I payed in advance out of my own pocket first. NO ONE has ever done more than glance at this mower to see what's wrong with it. I don't believe Kohler ever had any intention of fixing this engine. All their efforts so far seem to involve finding a way to blame me for their defective product. Today I attempted once again to mow with it. The oil was checked and it had the proper amount. It ran for 5 minutes, started smoking, and oil poured from the air filter.Desired Settlement: This unit needs to be repaired or replaced without me having to take it to all these different dealers. It's been in the shop since the first week of August and nothing has ever been done except they stripped the dipstick, which I had to replace. I have photos of the engine with the oil pouring out.
