The Simple Car Store Reviews (42)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. This response is a bunch of bull. When we sat there and signed the paperwork for the new vehicle sat right there and told us to our face that everything would transfer to the new vehicle INCLUDING  the warranty.  I would not of paid for over a year on a warranty on a vehicle I did not have if I had thought the warranty didn't transfer. This is what they do they always wash their hands of situations that they don't want to take responsibility for. Regardless who we pay the warranty money to it was the simple car store who was responsible for making sure my vehicle was covered. And because we trusted them and their business practices is why we are now eating a 1300 car repair bill. This place is horrible.
Regards,
Alexis [redacted]

In regards to Mrs. [redacted]'s complaint,We make every attempt to make sure every customer gets a great car, where in every car is inspected by a 3rd party shop before sale and all reconditioning is completed by such shop. These are all local reputable shops with ASE certified mechanics....

In the event that the customer has repair issues during the life of the loan we offer several 3rd party warranty options (which it sounds like from Mrs. [redacted]'s statement was used) and in the event the customers repairs are not covered under such warranty we can often offer assistance in the form of a referral to one of our partner shops who provide extremely discounted rates for our customers. Any work completed by such shop for the customer after the time of purchase (Such as in this case) is warrantied by that shop and we would refer the customer back to them to handle any re-curing issues that came back from work originally completed through them. In this case we have attempted to help Mrs. [redacted] both with repairs as she mentioned but also in with payment arrangements. At the time of this response, Mrs. [redacted]'s account is noted that she was able to get the remaining repair issues resolved. If there is still any outstanding issues please feel free to contact the partner shop who originally completed work as they would be responsible for ensuring the work is completed accurately or feel free to contact our payment center for any additional questions.

"In Regards to the response from Mrs. [redacted] for complaint #[redacted], On several occasions we offered repair help to Mrs.[redacted] even in light of her decision not to purchase any extended warranty we offer. We understand that in some case's depending on the wear and tear and vehicle history some used vehicles may require more maintenance and repairs then others so in this case we are able to help in the form of subsidized repairs and other options, which is what we offered Mrs. [redacted] in our last response and previously over the phone. She refused, and at this point her loan has been deemed a default by customer. Once again we stress that use 3rd party reconditioning shops for every used vehicle we purchase which are ASE certified. Every vehicle goes through a 125 point inspection and all reconditioning is completed by such shop before the vehicle is placed for sale at simple car store. From that point we encourage every customer to take advantage of extended warranty we offer and we offer assistance to any customer who opts not to purchase a extended warranty as we did in this case. These services far exceed that of any normal Auto finance company as we understand that it can be difficult to handle a car payment and repair issues at the same time. We encourage Mrs. [redacted] to contact our payment center to discuss options on how to resolve her account at ###-###-####. "Best Regards, [redacted]A.G.M.

Mr. [redacted] purchased an extended warranty from a 3rd party from our dealership on his initial vehicle purchase. When Mr. [redacted] had mechanical issues with the vehicle he initially purchased, we offered tofinance him in a new vehicle and waive off the outstanding debt owed with...

the initial purchase.  The customer makes warranty payments to a 3rd party, [redacted] Warranty, separate from the car payments he makes to The Simple Car Store for his vehicle. We are not involved with the facilitation and/or servicing of the extended warranty. Our role is simply offering additional coverage to our customers. After signing up, it is the customer’s responsibility to manage the extended warranty, communicate with the provider, and make payments to the company directly.  The customer recently brought the issue about the extended warranty to our attention. Since doing so, The Simple Car Store has tried everything within our power to help the customer work with the 3rd party warranty company to either get refunded or transfer coverage to the new vehicle.  This agreement that Mr. [redacted] entered into was between him and [redacted] Warranty. We cannot be held accountable for the customers transactions outside of the loan held with us. We will continue efforts, on the customers behalf, to help with getting coverage from his extended warranty but will not be responsible for any amount owed on Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,[redacted]

As stated in person to Mrs. [redacted] and in the previous response to the Revdex.com, we apologize for her frustration and assure we are actively trying to finish our software transfer and once that is complete we will be able to report to her credit all payment and loan history to date. No where in the retail finance contact signed by Mrs. [redacted] does it state the simple car store will report to any of the 3 major credit bureaus and we have in the past and in the near future reported payment histories only to help our customers benefit credit reporting.

Mrs. [redacted],We do have a update. We completed our set up process with [redacted]. I will be loading our first data file up monday and [redacted] has informed us at that point that we will be looking at approx 4-6 weeks to review the intial data provided and post to [redacted]. Since his is longer than expected I have found a alternative solution, we are going to be transferring your account to a partner [redacted], who will resume collection of all payments and currently reports to all 3 credit bureau's. I have already contacted [redacted] for this and we should be able to get this transferred next week and then have the account sent to all 3 credit bureau's within in the month of may.

As Mrs. [redacted] stated we have been attempting to assist them with a repair that occurred shortly after the initial warranty expired. During which we faced extended difficulties in locating the correct parts and attempting to assist with getting a extended warranty to cover the repairs.(Wiring...

harness that was damaged during the tire blow out) Additionally we understand that while this may have been out of warranty with us, we attempted to help by arranging a loaner vehicle for the entire time that their vehicle was out. We have since provided Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] with a different vehicle and switched their financing as such. We strive to see everyone of our customer successful and are glad to see them back on the road and hope they enjoy their new vehicle.

I bought a car from Simple Car Store on January 18th, 2014. On April 16th, 2014 the entire engine went out. I took it into a shop and they said there was so much metal shavings in the oil that the engine had been going out before I bought it. They covered it up by doing what a faulty dealership does. Making the engine good enough for me to buy it and then within 3 months it went out. When I contacted them out it the lady in the office yelled at me, called me named, and was very rude. I would never recommend them to anyone and I will never ever buy from them again. I have good credit and didn't need to shop there but liked the sales people. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

On several occasions we have attempted to help Mrs. [redacted] diagnose the starting issue with her vehicle, even in light of the fact that it is out of the initial warranty provided by us. To date we have not been able to duplicate the issue and have even had a 3rd party shop look at it with the same...

results. Since we are unable to duplicate the starting issue we can not diagnose the problem Mrs. [redacted] is describing and have explained such to Mrs. [redacted]. Additionally as a precaution we have replaced the device Mrs. [redacted] referred to and still are not able to duplicate the issue, yet Mrs. [redacted] still claims to have the starting issue occasionally.

We would like to help resolve this account and understand her frustration, but stress that communication is key and encourage Mrs. [redacted] to contact our finance department as soon as possible so we can help her with these issues. Please call us at [redacted]

Alex is the worst!!! She is the rudest person I've ever met in my life. I had to take my car back 3 days after I got it for issues with the power steering. Three weeks later I end up there for the same exact thing and now the check engine light is on, the brakes are squealing, and I'm having issues accelerating the car. All less than a month of having the car. I unfortunately had to experience the headache of working the "Service" manager Alex who knows nothing about service....Customer or other. She is extremely disrespectful and arrogant. She actually tried to hold my car hostage because I was upset. I thought is was both unprofessional and funny because I've read my contract front to back and I knew it wouldn't be long before she relinquished my keys. Especially knowing my car note was due to very next day. Without those keys she wouldn't have gotten a dime from me. Which I'm sure she knew. The Simple Car Store may have just lost a customer all because of 1 rude [redacted] manager that failed to manage herself.

I went in on a saturday to talk to Brittney about a car, seen a XB I really liked and started the process, the Manager was very nice and helpful, she did everything she could to get me into this car, my car payment was under 300!! Thats awsome!! Few days later I had issues with the transmission and front window needed to be re sealed, I called and they had me drop the car off to fix it, No questions asked!! I was a little nervous about the reviews but I think these people just acted horrible, and get horrible response. I would recommend this place!! Thanks to the managment and staff!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The action we would like to see taken is for simple car store to release us from the contract on the truck with no penalties or further action otherwise we will be forced to file bankruptcy due to them leaving us with a 10,000 yard ornament. The car is non usable  and all the items listed wrong are not normal for three months of ownership. If they are unwilling to release us from the contract without penalty then we will be forced to file bankruptcy.Regards,[redacted]

This company has no integrity. They are not reliable or honest.

Simple Car store is absolutely HORRIBLE! I would not suggest them to anyone, if fact I urge everyone to stay far far away! They have absolutely terrible customer service.
I got my car from them about 3 months ago and it has already been in the shop numerous times. Every time I have to call them and let them know the issues they promised were fixed were in fact NOT FIXED BUT MADE WORSE they are rude, and very un helpful, I ended up taking it to a different shop and the mechanic was disgusted at how horribly it had been taken care of and how many problems the car really had.
I am now stuck with a bad car.

We received a call from Mrs. [redacted] on 12/14/13 (5 months and 6 days after purchase) stating that she was having severe repair problems with the vehicle matching the description of what was included on the Revdex.com complaint. Mrs. [redacted] said all of these issues were our fault as we should have caught...

these issues at time of sale (7/8/13). Initially our GSM [redacted] asked if she had purchased a extended warranty which would possibly help with any issues, as we offer every customer a 3 year 75,000 mile warranty at time of sale. Mrs. [redacted] stated that she did not and demanded we fix all of the issues with out any cost to her or that she would not continue to pay on the vehicle, at that time and to this day we offered to help Mrs. [redacted] with the repairs by getting them completed through partner shops at a discounted rate and possibly helping to cover the cost of some of the repairs upfront then make payment arrangements on the repairs. Mrs. [redacted] continued to state that we as a dealership had wronged her for her to have any repairs after "only" 5 months, saying that this was our fault for not reconditioning the vehicle. As a dealership we have always stated we strive to recondition our vehicles to the best of our reasonable ability and we only use ASE Certified 3rd party shops to inspect and complete all reconditioning in addition to offering for free a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty on every vehicle sold. After that point we encourage every customer to take advantage of the 3rd party 3 year 75,000 mile warranty we offer as we do sell used vehicles between 03-09 and it is always a good idea to be prepared in event of the unforeseen. We have no way of determining after 5 months of use the amount of wear and tear, driving conditions or miles put on vehicle and understand that repair issues can place a undue strain on any of our customers. For that reason if the customer is having issues, such as in this case we will offer as we have to Mrs. [redacted] assistance with repairs, but the customer is still responsible for the reduced cost or payment plan. To date Mrs. [redacted] has continued to state in her Revdex.com complaint that she wants all repairs done free of charge and that simply is not a feasible solution. If should would like to take advantage of the assistance we have offered above we ask that she simply contact our payment center at ###-###-####. Best Regards,[redacted]A.G.M.

In regards to complaint# [redacted].

Mrs. [redacted] has recently contacted us in regards to her account with us and expressed frustration with her account not currently being reported to her credit report. At this time, as was explained to Mrs. [redacted] we have been working with [redacted]...

and our software provider for over 8 months to have these accounts reported but due to some technical issues with our software provider have not been able to do so. We also explained to Mrs. [redacted] this has led us to pursue switching software's and are currently in the middle of that process and expect to have that complete within the next few weeks. At that time all account information will be reported to both [redacted] and [redacted] and will be backdated to reflect all payment histories etc. We have apologized to Mrs. [redacted] for any inconvenience and appreciate her as customer and trust we are working to remedy this issue as quick as possible. If there is any additional questions please feel free to contact us back.
