I signed up for the free 30-day trial and then realized I don't order what they offer enough to make the membership fee worthwhileTried to cancel and they just make it impossible for you to cancel! The link if hidden under their FAQs and a rep kept emailing me afterward, first offering a longer trial period, then a discounted membership feeI'm hoping my account actually gets cancelled and my card won't get charged for the membershipNot a good or simple experience

Beware! I responded to an ad for a free sample - only $for shipping and handling - that's how they get your credit card information! Buried in the fine print, SURPRISE you are also going to be charged an annual $membership fee after a day free trial
But, it gets better - try - just try to cancel - it took me three attempts in writing before the fee was refunded to my credit card accountYou should think that one request to cancel would be enough?

I had a day trial with Thrive Market that was ending on 12/16/I contacted thrive market via email on 12/14/to cancel the membership and not charge my credit cardThey received the email and extended the membership on 12/15/until January 15th which was not my requestI sent a second email on 12/15/asking them to cancel my membership and not charge my credit cardMy membership was cancelled and my credit card was charged that same day for $I contacted Thrive Market on the phone and the representative informed me this will be resolved and confirmed that this situation happens to other customersThey attribute it to user error but this is an apparent intentional fraudThere are numerous web forums with the same complaints that cancelling is simply impossible and fraudulent charges are placed

They make it impossible to cancelOnce I finally figured it out and sent an email to their support team asking that they cancel my account (which is the only way out), I received a very long email, buried in which was the note that instead of cancelling my account as I asked, they had instead changed my account to reflect a discounted rateI didn't notice at the time, and it took months to realize that I was still paying for the serviceI followed up with customer service with this email:
Please cancel my account, as I requested months agoI was very surprised and upset to find out I was still subscribed after already going to the lengths you require to cancelThese aggressive steps to make cancelling as difficult as possible is terrible company policy, and I will not be returning or recommending this service to others as a result
To be clear: Please cancel my account immediatelyDo not change my membership pricingDo not send long emails in the hopes that I don't notice that you've ignored my explicit requestJust cancel the accountA refund for any charges accrued after my cancel request was submitted would be appreciated as well
Thank you
Here is the reply I received:
Before you go, we'd like to offer you an exclusive 3-month membership for $as an alternativeThis shortened membership will allow you the same access to savings without having to commit to the full year's priceThis change is already reflected on your account
However, if you'd prefer not to take advantage of this offer, please reply to this email
If you have any questions or concerns, I'll be happy to help!

"This change is already reflected on your account." How is this legal? I have had to ask them to cancel my account THREE TIMES and I still am subscribedI don't know how I could have been more clear in my initial requestsThis is an incredibly shady tactic, if not outright illegal

I cancelled my membership and continued to be chargedWhen I called to complain, they acknowledged that they received my cancellation request months ago, but said they wanted to make sure I knew of all of the benefits etc and proceeded to try and get me to keep my membershipIf I had not noticed the charges they would have continued to deceptively take my moneyNo apologiesThey have said that they will refund my money but I have not seen it yetI would not do business with this company

BEWARE in the fine print they will say that after days your membership will expire don't know where that really is but if you do not find it and say I do not want it so they say, they charge you 5$on your Visa without your knowledgeThey assume somewhere in that long email you saw that fine printI haven't found it yetYes they say they are going to refund my moneyBut a lot of headaches and a very unscrupulous way to run a businessAnd I would be ashamed of the Revdex.com for giving them an A- rating to any business or anyone that does such practices

I tried their "free membership trial" and it was a HUGE mistake! I've tried FIVE times to get them to cancel it before they charge me for it and they just keep emailing me back offering a different "discounted" price for the membershipI reply, "No, cancel it today!" They refuse to cancel it and offer a different plan insteadThey will not cancel it! I can't believe this company is so shady and still in business! It's ridiculous! If I get additional charges from them on my account, I will be filing a formal complaintThis company is a scam! They shouldn't be allowed to refuse a request to cancel their "no contract" free membership trial!!!!!

Like the other customers, I received a bill on my charge card for one year I had not (knowingly) accepted the annual membership I phoned the number indicated on my credit card's transaction history I was pleasantly surprised when my money was courteously refunded

Thrive is a total scam! I ordered one time and never got an email saying I was signed up for a yearly membership at $ Then today I get a charge for $Never order from Thrive! Total total scam!

This is what my experience was with Thrive Market...the first customer svc rep I called was cold and rude and nasty....the second one acted nice but still would not understand simple mathI sent this email to them to see if they can ever understand simple math and stop cheating meI will not do business with them again: I was overcharged on the primal chocolate hazelnut collagen barscharged $for bars instead of $ The 20% discount was appliedThe people I talked with under-refunded me because of faulty figuring, not to mention the stress of trying to get them to understandHere's how it breaks down:
Original charges: Corrected charges:
$ $
$ $
$ $
$ $
$ $
-------------- --------------
$ $
less 20% - less 20%
--------------- -------------
total chg $ $
Refund calculation:
$
-$
---------------
correct refund $
Your customer service people argued and argued and refused to issue a correct refund They issued a refund for $and would not accept that that did not amount to the difference between the overcharged item and the corrected charge for that item
As a result, instead of being comforted by the fact that I will be eating healthy, I am stressed out from being cheated
I was told that if I had tried to cancel immediately, it would have worked out, like I was in the wrong, when, in fact I did try to cancel immediately and have the response emails to prove it
I would have been a customer for life and had been recommending Thrive to friends
I feel very differently now

A - rating ???? Is laughing while choking a thing? Let me add one more to the !! complaints received in the last !! months" On September 4, the Revdex.com received a response from the company explaining they have taken steps to avoid future complaints." HogPooCan we then explain why yesterday June 24th there are complaints exactly the same as mine?,and a full ! pages of the same complaint? I could just copy and paste, we are all the same"I didn't know I would be charged", (I read the fine print and did know), "when I tried to cancel, they said "you'll get an email from a rep in or days" WTH WHO DOES THAT?, I knew then there would be trouble & the malodorus stench of scam was in the airWait the days; email from their "rep" sure enuf, ALL sales pitch and "we will give you bucks off, we are sure you don't want to cancel so if you have anything else to say to us reply to this email." Even those bogus anti aging creams don't do business this wayEven the Chinese on *** don't do business this wayOf course I replied IMMEDIATELY, in ALL CAPS TOO! "CANCEL THIS MEMBERSHIP NOW" I might, lol, have repeated that or times emphasis, yeah probablyThis took place in early June appx 10+ days bthe cancellation windowLo & behold, when my bank acct was at it's lowest(between wk paychex) a charge from this complete scam for 29.95.!!!I couldn't run fast enuf for my phone*** I criedto the really rude person at their call centerShe sounded completely bored of listening to the same thing, the same complaint, for 6-hrs in a rowWhen I questioned her to days refund was the only time she showed any lifePerhaps others don't question that, but that is the CRUX of my complaint actually THEY ARE USING YOUR MONEY FOR more days!!!!Anyone who knows anything about, bank policies, money transfers, and the like knows, that is DOESN"T take 5-days for a refund!!!! Maybe in yeahUnless and only unless, the refund is issued and transpires in a foreign countryAnd even then..I've had refunds from China go back in my acct in days, refunds on deposits from Puerto Rico that were in my bank acct BEFORE we got home from Puerto Rico, while we were on the plane actuallySo I asked her shouldn't you be using the caveat that EVERY OTHER business does? Which is "depending on your financial institution, refunds may take up to five days to show in your acct." Typical and standardMaybe some folks have banks that take days to put the money in your acct....but WHY on earth would anybody bank there??????????? Her response : "Maybe you could pay your bank to do something special for you & expedite it for you, but it's going to take or days." BOGUS *** They are HOLDING these cancels and refunds for or five days, for several reasonsTheir COH (cash on hand), interest earnings, Debt-to- asset ratio, and other *** I won't bore you withWe ended the conversation with her "threat" to charge me a fee if I ever ordered anything from them again...nice..I think I said when pigs fly, or a cold day in ***...one of the Or maybe bothThe first clue that a business is only interested in initial returns, I.E"memberships" "recurring shipments" "deposits" and the like is that they couldn't care less about repeat business..most times because they know they have nothing worth selling twice, or even once, really Their products are ridiculously priced, cheap ***, that you can buy on *** for 40% less The real business model here is that nobody really buys this way overpriced ***....we make our $$$ by scamming on "memberships" ...to be in a "club" of is that pay bucks for a five dollar item you can buy on the suppliers site for I won't get into the "Revdex.com's" complicity in these scams...that's a WHOLE 'nother novelI will be printing, mailing,(to the executive offices of the Revdex.com, just in case this "magically" doesn't get published,) copying and pasting this everywhere if the $ are not in my acctTues, June 28th at the latest

Customer service was fantastic! They resolved my problem within a matter of minutes, they were pleasant and easy to understandThe products arrived quickly, and undamaged! I am extremely pleased with this company!

Awful business practicesI run a business myself and I DO NOT charge people for freebiesIf you can not afford to give trial items, then don'tThat simpleLike every one else, I was charged even though I had requested a cancellationIf they are not answering emails, I recommend calling them and choosing option to speak to an actual person and ask for refund and cancellationA bit ridiculous that it would take to business days to refund my accountUsually it is immediatelyFoul business practices, and to be charged before an important billThey will face a most sour taste of karma after all this scammingA-? Revdex.com you're crazy, look at this 78% negativeOn top of that, some of the "positive" reviews look generic and doctoredProbably only one or two are legitSo crookedSo scary they have our information

I bought from Thrive online and understood that there was a 30 trial membership, but I was not reminded a few days before my card was charged, and when I call within 24 hours to "cancel at any time", I was not offered a refund. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge. I don't think this is good customer service and since I see many people have complained of the same issue, Thrive should look for a different way to sell their memberships.

I never receieved info to be billed monthly and would have never agreed if I did.
I am actually in the process of trying to review their EPIC bars and am unable to.
I talked to one rep and he said I will be issued a refund.
Now that I read the info on this site I have a feeling I'm going to have to pay close attention to my credit account.

Terrible experience! Spent way too much time trying to get my money back and cancel my account and unsubscribe from their emails. Wish I had read the reviews before ordering. My package was damaged during shipping and the shipper made the determination to Return To Sender before it ever reached my address. This should have triggered a replacement order being sent out immediately plus an email apologizing for the delay. Instead, Thrive never contacted me and was going to treat it like a customer return, making me wait for them to get the package back and confirm the problem!! There are also problems with their customer service email addresses not accepting emails. Apparently, many others have had the same problem with damaged packages. So they must have a problem with their packaging as well. You'd think that they'd have a proper procedure in place for expediting a replacement for a damaged package, but no, it is treated like a customer returned item. Then there's the problem of "membership fees" -- I asked to cancel the account well before the membership fee was to kick in, but like so many others, I was offered a lower fee and they sent me pre-written emails that did not address my specific complaints. I clearly declined this offer, and again requested a cancellation AND un-subscription from all emails, but instead, three days later the fee was charged to my (still existing) account. Now, I just spent 40 minutes on the phone with customer service and have finally been assured that my account has been cancelled and my money refunded...... we shall see! I wish I had never placed an order with this company!

I did sign up for a trial membership after seeing a few ads for the company. I was very happy with the products and prices, but decided the membership would not make sense for the amount of items I anticipated ordering throughout the year. Also, some items can be found cheaper elsewhere, but most of the things I ordered were the best prices I had found. I called the day before my trial expired to cancel and although I had to call twice (call was disconnected while on hold the first time), the rep was polite and did offer a discounted membership fee to stay on, but when I declined the first time, they did not push any further and cancelled my membership there. I'll have to check tomorrow to make sure there is no charge on my card, but it seems like a legit company and as long as you read the fine print, just like anything else, you shouldn't have a bad experience. Side Note: If they offered free shipping on all orders with their membership, I most likely would have kept it.

Had issues getting my free trail memebership cancelled.

HORRIBLE company!!! I live in an apartment situation, had my old email stolen, an account set up under it and then a shipment sent to the address which I never ordered. I was charged to $59 membership fee and was told sorry , to emails with the same mailing address but would you like to keep the account open?? I dont have the extra money and they dont seem to care. Dont use them and fall for their scheme!!

Terrible company. They fraudulently took my money, claimed to return it and email me which they didn't. Customer service is deplorable. Had to cancel my credit card and file a police report on them which only seemed to annoy them. They are NOT helpful at all. I plan to warn everyone on Social media and any people I come in contact with. Have been trying to file Revdex.com complaint but site isn't working.
