Time Warner Cable Reviews (1354)

Review: I have tried numerous attempts to cancel my service with Time Warner Cable due to numerous issues/complaints with the quality of their product and service.

Upon trying to call to cancel service, I was put on hold for times exceeding 30 minutes. Upon calling back, I was transferred to other agents in attempt to keep me as a customer. My calls were dropped and I was hung up on 4 times.

After finally talking to an agent ([redacted]) that could cancel my order on September 17th, he assured me that the services would be cancelled, I could drop off the equipment on 9/21, and all credits for the month of September (paid in advance) would show up on my account.

As of 9/28/13, my account shows balances still due for the upcoming month, the account is still open, and no credits for the month of September after my cancellation date of 9/17.Desired Settlement: Not only do I want my account adjusted, but these shady practices of making cancellations difficult should be investigated. Also the wait times to get through the automated customer service system for cancellations was typically over 20-30 minutes, whereas the wait time for ordering service is less than 2-3 minutes. This discrepancy in customer service is another example of how Time Warner Cable is practicing unscrupulous business practices. Hopefully the effect of lost customers will force them to change their business practices.

I had horrible intermittant internet servicethat I wrongly attrabuted to the wireless box. I havehad to turn off my box serveal times in ahour of checking email. My phone line also did not work. I hardly use the phone However, when I needed to make acall it did not work.I feel I should be reimburst for the bad service.Desired Settlement: I feel I should be reimburst 3 months bill for the bad service.

Review: I called TWC to cancel services on February 19, 2015. On February 20, 2015, I began to receive phone calls asking me if I was still interested in signing up for cable services. When I informed the them that I had not signed up for any services and asked how they received my information, the put me on hold. A few moments later, a woman picked up the phone and said hello. I told her I was transferred to her and she said no. That her personal phone had began to rang. She stated this was an on going issue she had been having with TWC.

I called TWC to get answers to why someone would call me without my consent. The representative informed me that it was not a direct call from TWC but that it from a third party company that TWC hires to make outbound calls.

I am outraged!! I never gave TWC permission to disclose my private information to anyone. Especially some third party company to solicit services. What information have they given this third party company? TWC has access to my name, address, phone number, social security number, credit card info, etc. I feel violated and my rights as an American citizen have been violated. I want this matter to be resolved immediately. This is a matter of my identity!!!!! Approximately 15 million United States residents have their identities used fraudulently each year with financial losses totalling upwards of $50 billion. Now, I have to cancel my credit cards and buy credit protection services at the least. Who knows what will happen down the road.

I will be speaking to a lawyer regarding this matter on Monday, February 23, 2015 to find out my legal rights in handling this breach of privacy.Desired Settlement: At this time, it is hard to determine how the company can fix wehat has happened. I might have to be as extreme as completely rebuilding my credit to fradulent activity and identity theft. FIX THIS NOW

Response:

Time Warner Cable apologizes for any frustration you may have encountered during your recent experience when attempting to disconnect your services. Per our conversation on 02/27 Time Warner Cable does use outsourced agents in an attempt to retain customers when a disconnection is requested. Although the agent is outsourced they are still considered a Time Warner Cable representative and did not disclose themselves otherwise. In regards to you giving Time Warner Cable consent to contacting you in such manner please see section 12 in our Residential Services Subscriber Agreement that can be found on timewarnercable.com under Terms, Conditions & Policies. We value you as a customer and appreciate your business.

Review: I am sick and tired of Time Werner Cable being able to offer the services described in their contract sporadically. Although my bill(my side of the contract)is expected to be satisfied in it's entirety every month for the whole month, TWC gets to offer services(their part of the contract) that either don't work at all or are so unreliable they are unusable. I have waited for hours on the customer service line to no avail, I have emailed and contacted TWC through there suggested avenues and all I've gotten for my troubles are advertisements and commercials where in the services offered now supposedly cost less than they are charging me. It's time people know what they will be getting with such a company. We need to hold them accountable! If they cant offer sustainable connection to their product they should be made to advertise that and only charge for time used at. Instead TWC is being allowed to collect payment for services they never intended to provide. False advertising at the least. With tiers of service costing more for faster speed provided why then are slower than advertised services allowed to cheat and manipulate! Please help protect us little guys, I know I'm not the only one who suffers with this in justice.Desired Settlement: Refund or Replacement. I don't care as long as I'm not paying for a service I don't get to benefit from. These guys should refund my account and then dare I say, provide the service I am contracted to pay for. If I cant wait until the end of the month to pay a percentage of what I feel they provided, they need to provide what I payed for or refund/replace the value of said service not get away with providing what they feel is adequate.

Review: Where do I begin?!!?? We have been customers starting with Comcast in about '85, morphed to Adelphia, and then finally Time Warner about ten years ago. While they sometimes appear to be trying to improve, it is still one aggravation after another. They don't know how to say "I don't know - let me find someone who does." Latest problem is an email problem and they are blaming APLE and sending us to them. We've had APLE forever - why would they suddenly be the problem?!!! Years ago they tried to tell us this, and we finally got a supervisor who came to our house and fixed it. But it takes COUNTLESS hours before one gets answers even when you eventually do............There must be some recourse when they say, "We don't send technicians out for THAT problem anymore." HELP!!!!!!!!!! (BTW - this is just one of many problems we've had with them lately - I'm out of steam to go into any others).Desired Settlement: I would like them to find someone who understands the problem and will tell us how to fix it or send someone our who can. I would also like assurances that they will stop these practices once and for all...........

Response:

Time Warner has spoken with David regarding his Email issues. Although he was able to address the issue himself he is very upset over the time it took speaking with TWC agents who could not provide a resolution. As a courtesy for inconveniences had I have issued a $70 credit for any customer services troubles he had.

Review: My house burned down in a fire. After rebuilding my house, I scheduled an appointment for 1/21. The agent and I agreed to have someone see the house since Time Warners records shows there was service at the house but since it is new construction they would come by on 1/20 to see what was needed for the 1/21 appointment. 1/21 was the last day that work was to be done and all sub contractors are scheduled to be there for the appointment. TW came on 1/20 but notified me there was no appt scheduled for 1/21 and could not come until 1/22. This is costing me over a thousand dollars and I asked for a tape of my conversation and was refused. They offered me a $20 credit.Desired Settlement: 1. I want the to keep their appointment.2. I want a copy of all conversations recorded by Time Warner that I have had regarding this appointment.3. If Time Warner does not kee[p their appointment on 1/21, I want Time Warner to reimburse me for my actual costs of having to reschedule sub contractors, A reimbursement of my hourly costs at $300 an hour and reimbursement of any repairs for damages to the house from there work as our house is to be treated with white gloves only after 1/21

Business

Response:

Time Warner Cable contacted Mr. [redacted] and discussed the details of the phone calls he made to TWC in regards to the transfer of service. It was agreed there was some confusion with the appointment dates and accommodated him with a credit of $105.97 and 6 months free of Turbo internet service.

Review: I have been having issues with my internet for months. Basically the Internet stops working about every 5 minutes and so does the wifi and it prevents me from doing my job and school work and never lets me get anything done on time. I have been being charged high prices monthly and every time I call they don't fix anything and the bill increases every month. I was barely informed later that a technician could replace the modems. I have been getting charged for services I have not received in description and with dysfunctional components.Desired Settlement: I would like to keep time Warner cable as a provider but with my bill cleared and my services kept up to date with reliability and with the quality they promise.

Review: We got the bundled package from cable company 4 months ago including phone and internet and tv cable and alarm system and the person who sold the package to us promised us that we will get a gift card worth of 300$ for getting the package in 2 months. We never received it. Once I called to inquire they said we were supposed to also register our account on a different site to get the gift card which was never ever communicated to us but the supervisor promised to escalate the issue and for sure send the card to us. I called again today and they said we are not eligible and they wont send it to us. They lied to us to get our business and they have to pay for it. this is unethical and is false advertisement and one of the representatives told us many people have the same issue since at first no body had to register at a different site and no body was communicated to regarding that. Also our cable has been working intermittently and we were also promised to get credit for all the time we were out of service but paid the fee.Desired Settlement: need to get the 300$ gift card promised. also get credit for not having a service for more than 2 months.

Regards,

Review: I have been calling about the rate of my cable to be too high every month for about the last 8 months. I’m frequently late with payments because I can’t afford you. Everytime I call, I’m told I’m going to get a lower rate or a discount here, but it never happens. Earlier this year around July or August, I returned my bedroom equipment so I can save some money.

After having my service interrupted in July for about 2 weeks for non payment, my account was closed and I received a final bill with unreturned equipment charges and partial month amounts. That statement was dated August 1st. At that time I called to get my service turned on and I had seen what the prices were for the cable packages on your site and I was thrilled to see more affordable ones, so I called and spoke with a very helpful person. The package I requested and I have the printouts from the site clearly say TV 49.99 (includes starter TV, HD DVR was 24.20) free HBO and Showtime for like 3 months, and Extreme Internet was 8.00 for the modem but I had my own modem as your statements reflect so there would be no charge. That total was 74.19 a month for twelve months. This lady PUT ME ON THAT PACKAGE. She even called me back to say that because my box was an older model, she couldn’t put me on that package because of the DVR recording 6 shows, etc, BUT SHE FOUND a package that WAS compatible with my box, it had only one free channel, but everything else was the same. The only thing is that my modem was older and it was not compatible with the internet speed on the package, but I can go pick up the modem at any location and then it would be compatible. I asked if I needed to do anything else because the next day I would go get the modem. She said no and the package would already be active. This is important: I WENT TO GO GET THE MODEM AND AGREED TO THE 8 dollars a month because the total for it all was going to be 79.99 a month. I received another statement dated August 3rd with an installation charge.

Since that day, I have yet to receive a correct statement or a free channel. My bills are coming with a 112.00 package I never agreed to and I’m FURIOUS because Im paying now 8.00 dollars more for a modem I only got because of the new package. I’m being bamboozled. I called about this yet again last month and spoke to someone who appeared to be helping but she put me on hold for 20 minutes and returned to hang up on me. Yes, she did it on purpose because I would have expected a call back if it was accidental and I was talking at the time so she knew I didn’t hang up.

This is what you are resorting to? Tonight I called again and after three calls and having made it through all the prompts, my calls were forwarded then dropped. Yes, all three calls.

Do the right thing here and just give me the package that I worked out with your representative. Clearly, this isn’t a package I ever agreed to and I won’t pay for a modem I don’t need.

I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am quite disappointed. Because I do not want to spend any more time on this problem, I am dealing with the Revdex.com immediately. I expect my statements to be adjusted retroactively. I will be informing my friends and family about this experience.Desired Settlement: Do the right thing here and just give me the package that I worked out with your representative. Review: Time warner has issued me a bill for over 150 for services not render.Desired Settlement: refund

Business

Response:

Time Warner cable has attempted to contact the customer by telephone on several occasions in an attempt to resolve their reported issue. Unfortunately we have not been successful.

Review: I was informed by a Time Warner representative that I could cancel my subscription with no additional fees by 6/20/15. I called the number she gave me on the 17th, they told me I could not cancel through them, but had to go through another line instead. I called them, but they were closed. I was bounced back and forth between my representative and the hotline until the following week, when it was past the 20th, and they charged me for half a month extra then closed my account.

I find this business practice to be extremely undesirable, especially since I had IN WRITING that I was told I could cancel before the 20th with no additional fees.Desired Settlement: I would like the extra $189.95 that I was charged for to be refunded to me.

Business

Response:

Customers account was disconnected on 7/8/15 but it should have been disconnected on 6/20/15. The customer had made one last payment of $189.95 and when the account was disconnected it left a credit balance of $85.78. A credit of $104.17 has also been applied to the account to refund the $189.95 payment that had been made. Refund check will be mailed to the address provided by customer.

Review: Time Warner Cable is charging me over their advertised rate on their website and when I call to try to get this resolved I am consistently hung up when they try to transfer me to another department. The rate for my internet plan should be 44.99 a month but I have been charged 73.98 a month for years. Here is the link to the rates on their website.http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/internet/internet-service-plans.html?c... when I try to update my plan online it says I already have the plan and will not update the pricing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded to amount I have been overcharged through the years.

Business

Response:

Time Warner Cable apologizes for any confusion related to the pricing available on the website. We are very appreciative that you allowed us the opportunity to discuss this matter with you. As confirmed during our conversation, we verified on the website you provided that it did show the offer you viewed was available for 12 months and not permanent pricing. We have gone ahead and applied the requested promotion for the next 12 months. Please keep in mind it does not include your modem lease fee.

We appreciate your business and value you as a customer.

I am rejecting this response because:

1) I believe the rates posted on Time Warner Cable's website (http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/internet/internet-service-plans.html) are not easily available to existing customers. There are no online tools for existing customers to keep the same plan but with the lower rate listed on the site. Calling customer service proved futile as I was given the runaround and hung up on multiple attempts.

Review: Payment was applied on 8/5/14. For $319 & now there's is a another charge for the same amount applied 8/15/14 plus an additional $25 that does not show on my bill . That's a total $342 that was deducted from my card!!! This is unbelievable.....I have never experienced this in my years of service with TWC. I am requesting a full refund of the $342.00 please and hope that this does not happen to anyone else.

Thank you.Desired Settlement: Full refund of $342.00

According to our records [redacted] has only been charged once for the amount of $319.00

As courtesy I credited customer 79.00 to cover her remaining past due$68.40 , a late fee $4.75 and restoration fee $5.00.

Review: I recently moved to a new apartment and transferred my service.I logged into my online account to pay my bill and noticed that the balance on the account was $0. Knowing that this was incorrect, I started an online chat with a man named Orlando at TWC who proceeded to tell me that I now owe $186.49, claiming that it was 2 months of service a transfer fee of $19.99 (even though the TWC website has advertised they'll move you for free) and a fee of $43.28, which he could not explain, other than my monthly bill is $60.98.I also asked why I was being charged for the next month, when the current one wasn't even up yet. After getting frustrated with the lack of explanation available for the $43.28 charge and other charges, I then asked why none of my information was available on my account when I logged in. He told me I "can have once account at one address." and "Your account number would change to a new account number." He then gave me a number and claimed that it was my new account number and it came up invalid. Upon telling him this, he again sent me the same number and the same issue occurred. After tell me to wait a 'moment' and putting me on chat hold for 5 minutes I was then transferred to a new person 'Jeremy - T3' This person was completely unaware of my issue when they started the chat and the chat went as follows:Jeremy-T3 Hello LORI, my name is Jeremy with Tier 3 support. Thank you for taking the additional time for us to address your inquiry. Please allow me a moment to review the details of the inquiry you and I will be addressing.Jeremy-T3ok it will take 24hrs to show your bill it shows there is a balance of 186.49 with a past due of 82.23LORI_well i'm unable to log in to my account to pay my bill and cannot pay via phoneJeremy-T3you will have to reregister for a new myaccount [redacted]_i don't have a new account numberJeremy-T3ok you would have to call in so we can verify your account it is the only way we can give you that informationDesired Settlement: I was then told I was given the correct account info, that still does not work. I am not paying a single penny until my account is corrected for me to pay online, and I am requesting AT THE VERY LEAST $100 of what's due to be taken off the account for Time Warner continuously wasting my time and having HORRIBLE customer service. If my service is disrupted in the meantime, I will be requesting the full amount of $186.49 be waived.

We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused but TWC does not compensate for lost time.

Ms. [redacted] currently has a balance of $191.24 which includes 2 months of services at $60.98, $ 43.28 ending balance from the old account, $19.99 transfer fee and $4.75 late fee. Review: My Time Warner Cable account was closed, paid in full, all equipments were returned on Nov/2012. Yet, my account was placed in collection for NOT returning equipments and for NOT paying balance.Desired Settlement: Time Warner Cable cannot/shouldn't conduct business based on fraud and deceit. Please, I am asking to conduct an investigation to clarify my issue.

Business

Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience experienced with this closed account. We spoke with Ms. [redacted], where we discussed her final payment of $73.81 on 11/2/12, followed by the credit card dispute that she placed on that payment on 11/7/12. This affected her account and left an outstanding balance, due to the prorated fees that were assessed. The prorated amount of $45.60 was left unaddressed when she reversed her final payment back to her credit card on 11/7/12. As a result of our discussion regarding these factors, she now understands where the balance originated and stated that the collections matter has been addressed. It has not reflected in our system, as of yet. We do appreciate her patience, while we looked into the matter. Thank you.

Business

Response:

We have waived the box charge that was on the account, as a courtesy. After which, we requested our collections department to remove this mark from the bureaus, as a courtesy as well. They are currently in the process of removing it. Thank you.

Review: I'm starting to see a pattern with big businesses. They all try to get a little extra money out of you after you cancel their service. Time warner seems to be one of those companies. since I canceled their service, I've received 3 collection notices. I used to live in san diego but moved back to Philadelphia after completing 10 years in the marine corps. Time warner doesn't have cable in Philadelphia. I've paid everything I owed to time warner. yet they conveniently have no record of it. I've talked to them many times and except for this last time, they say they correct the issues I have been having yet nothing is getting done. I refuse to pay anything I don't owe. they have my phone numbers, both of them. they also have my emails. If I did owe anything why didn't I get a call or an email. all my mail is forwarded to my new address. if they sent anything by mail, I would have gotten it, like everything else that gets sent to my old address. they have no excuse. they made up charges, didn't inform me so I could resolve it, and sent it directly to collections probably in the hopes that ill just throw my arms up and pay it so collections will leave me alone, and they squeeze a few extra bucks out of me. I wont. and this is a really dirty business practice. I've seen it with car insurance companies, cell phone companies and other cable companies. this new business practice must stop. I paid everything I owed before I left. and wasn't contacted about anything except by a collections agency. ive called to get this resolved, but I keep getting the run around. how in this hyper connected world that we live in today, does their new York office not have access to my info in California. and why is it every time I get the California office no can help me, find notes about what ive talked about with the company and generally seem disorganized. I want this resolved. my credit score is going down because of time warner. Even if I did owe anything I should have to pay it at this point cause I was never contactdDesired Settlement: I want my credit fixed, the collection agencies informed I don't owe anything and my bill wiped clean. I don't owe anything. If not im going on every social media site, ripoff report site, review sites, and ill be telling the marines and sailors I worked with in California to send mass emails to all navy and marine personell in California to avoid using time warner at all costs. the mass emailing is the easiest and most effective and hurtful to time warners pocketbook by the way

On 3/31/13 Mr. [redacted] called in to cancel all service due to moving to different state. He requested to keep the equipment (modem) instead of returning it. On 5/6/13, Mr. [redacted] made a payment of $77.00 to keep equipment 00252ED13AE2. His balance once the payment was posted was $0.00. On 6/12/13 an additional $77.00 payment was posted to the account in error and the payment was reversed the same day to avoid overcharging the customer.

On 6/27/13, a reversal fee was applied to the account for $25.00 and on 7/12/13, a Franchise Fee for $1.31. Per Dawn Parga in collections, the reversal fee and franchise fee were posted in error.

Account went into collections for amount of $26.31 because of the reversal and franchise fees.

We have submitted a request to have the collection fees waived, to remove from collections agencies, to remove from credit bureau and send a letter.

Review: Called about issue regarding high price of service. Offered HBO for "FREE" and ended up being charged for it by the end of the month. In addition, while trying to resolve issues we had our plan changed from Triple Play to Double play without our consent. We lost our home phone service for over 4 days and had to make over 5 phone calls to the company without any resolution, after repeatedly being told service would be restored after hanging up the phone. No resolution has occurred for over a week (I am currently on the phone AGAIN). WE also suspect that OUR INFORMATION MAY HAVE BEEN SOLD/EXCHANGED WITH OUTSIDE VENDORS as we received mail with the same typo error in our last name from people we have never contacted or shared information with.Desired Settlement: I would like triple play at the advertised price for new customers, $90.99 for Prefferred Triple Play, or to be compensated in future billing for our inconvenience(s). If not possible, we will be looking to switch to another service provider.

Review: Time Warner incorrectly charged my account $37, they could not explain why they were charging my account and said they would remove the charge. I also set up automatic payment at the time this issue was discussed. A month later I started receiving calls every day from Time Warner saying that I haven't paid the account. Despite multiple phone calls (taking up hours of my time) largely spent on hold, I continued to have the disruptive phone calls. Additionally the $37 dollars was added back on to my account. No matter how many times I call they say there is nothing they can do to prevent the calls and that it was related to a lag in the time between when the auto-pay was set up and when it was processed, however today (3/26/14) my account was charged the total amount and I am still receiving calls. When I called they said the same thing they have said every time which is that I owe this past amount of $37 (although at this point they have told me twice it would be removed) and there is nothing they can do to stop the phone calls.

Additionally the internet service I am paying for continually cuts out and performs at a speed significantly less than 30Mbps advertised.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund the incorrect bill and an additional $113 for the time I have lost dealing with this problem. Additionally, they need to change their system so that harassing phone calls stop/do not start when a billing arrangement has been made.

Review: I ordered internet service the middle of April after being told my unit had previous service. I was unable to find a cable to connect to and their service technician was unable to install one. I was charged close to a month for services that were never rendered. I was denied having the refund put back to my credit card and was told I would have to wait 4-6 weeks for a refund check. They take my money in two minutes and I have to wait a month and a half to get it back. When the check comes, it's for a portion of the original charge. I call back to complain and am told I have to wait another 4-6 weeks for another refund check. The second check comes, again for a portion of the whole amount. I call again and have to wait another 4-6 weeks to see if they will finally give me the rest of my money. I was charged for services never rendered, breach of contract, and I've been deprived of the use of my money, theft.Desired Settlement: Conduct honest up front business.

Time Warner Cable apologizes for your experience. Our records indicate that you are scheduled to receive a final refund in the amount of $34.99. That along with the first two refunds you already received will cover the entire payment you made when first setting up services. Please be advised that refunds are not generally sent separately unless billing corrections have to be made. Unfortunately, that was the case on your account. We hope you accept our apology and look forward to serving you in the future. Please feel free to contact us should you have further questions.

Review: I am being overbilled for services not received. My services promised are not being received. I am told I am receiving one service and billed for another. For 6 months now I have had repeated issues and time earner keeps waisting my time with phone calls and schedules technician visits.Desired Settlement: I want the services promised and my money refunded.
