Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I do not agree with towing a vehicle if it has been expired by five minutes under these circumstances. It is a parking lot, it had empty spaces available, parked in a paid for parking stall, and was not causing any obstruction. This company admits waiting in the parking lot to tow vehicles. Yes there is a sign that says parking is strictly enforced, but to actually sit in the parking lot and prey on the people who's ticket is 5 minutes expired is unacceptable. I have been a Law Enforcement Officer in California for 23 years. When I make decisions there is what we call "Spirit of the Law"  and "Letter of the Law". It would be like me giving your tow truck drivers a ticket every time they went 2 miles over the speed limit! Is it lawful for me to do that, YES, is it right, NO. Thank god you're not in Law Enforcement! Good luck with your business brudda!
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: Mr [redacted] not responded to his company illegally towing the vehicle. He did not receive a call from an AUTHORIZED idividual that night because his dispatcher was unable to name the authorized people . The list he presented was obtained AFTER the towing incident. His attempt to show he has the authorized list is ficticious. He did not have the authorized list because he misplaced it. The landlord gave him the list several years ago when he was first hired.
He towed my vehicle without proper authorization. He has not answered this basic premise .
OUr problem with [redacted] Has nothing to do with him 1) towing without proper authorization and 2) Not having the proper address recorded at the DCCA.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is ok to me. I looking up...

the whole parking lot and only found the that phone number, and provided the address, you dont know who operate the Business?

Mrs. [redacted] is not the registered owner of any of the vehicle in this complaint. She makes a lot of opinions and makes stamens with out facts to back them up. She then states that her two friends were towed so this is what we are going to address.  Towing Unlimited never tow cars with valid...

parking tickets that have been properly displayed. The first friend of Mrs. [redacted] is [redacted] who is the registered owner of a [redacted] white license plate [redacted]. Car was cleared @ 19:22 and logged @ 19:27 with HPD back room operator. Mrs. [redacted] states that she had a valid ticket which she may have. Photos below clearly show that no valid ticket is present on dash board at time of tow.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I do not necessarily agree with what they are saying, but I have no way to prove otherwise.   I am satisfied to the extent that they acknowledged their mistake. Good luck as I imagine the complaints for this business will continue. Please resolve ticket accordingly.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Mrs [redacted] second friend who got towed is [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] is the registered owner to a [redacted] 4 door white license plate [redacted]. This vehicle was cleared @ 19:21 and logged @ 19:29 with HPD operator. Mr. [redacted] parking ticket expired at 19:19. Photos at time of tow are below. Mr. [redacted] vehicle was cleared and logged after the time that his ticket was expired. This tow done with in the guide lines of our tow contract with the parking management company and with in accordance to the 290-11. In both cases the signs are clearly posted in the lot. There are 10 signs in this lot to be exact. Photos of the signs are also below. In Mr. [redacted] case if there is no ticket on the dash board we have no way of knowing it the car has been payed for. In Mr. [redacted] case once the vehicle time has expired and the courtesy of a grace period has expired the vehicle is towed.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I had a pass as documenting I had permission to park in the lot during the specified time that they towed my vehicle. The company may be able to tow cars, but when I tried to talk to the company by phone after I found my vehicle wrongfully towed, I received nothing but disrespectful treatment. I hope that others do not fall victim to their practice and if they do they are able to speak up and notify the Revdex.com. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response but closing my complaint because:Speaking of getting facts straight, the other person mentioned in Towing Unlimited's response, Mr. [redacted], is not my friend and was not apart of my original complaint. Mr. [redacted] got involved on his own accord after my [redacted] post regarding this incident went viral, and he wished to make a complaint of his own. My complaint for the pricing of the tow of $175 (which I had originally thought it was $170) was explained by a manager of the shop only after he reached out to me the day after my [redacted] post went viral. After hearing the manager out, I can see that the tow itself was justified, however this was not explained to us when we got down to the shop to collect our cars, therefore we were dumbfounded as to why we were getting punished for paying 10 hours originally, which we were able to prove that night. My original complaint was also about the employee who mishandled us while we were trying to get our cars back, in which the company's response did not address. With this response from the company and the overwhelming comments from others who have chosen to also speak up about their experiences with Towing Unlimited, It's clear to see that professionalism is not apart of the company's integrity. The issue has resolved itself when Hawaii News Now got involved and exposed the company's unethical predatory towing methods. The property manager of the parking lot has also been in contact with all parties involved and have assured the public that Towing Unlimited's contract with that lot has been terminated and will now be monitored by Ace Towing as of Dec. 24th, 2015.Thank you Revdex.com for taking action in this matter. My goal here was to warn the community about the unethical and unprofessional experience we encountered with Towing Unlimited, and that has been accomplished with the power of social media.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This lot is a pay and display lot. Which means you need to buy a parking ticket and display it on your dash. Mr [redacted] states that his ticked was from 7:02 to 9:02.  He also states that the entered the lot  at 9:15 after his ticket was expired, to find his car towed. This lot has a 5 minute grace period after that your car is eligible for tow. Drivers have to check all cars on property for tickets and times which is why the truck is parked on property once the rounds are done if there is nothing to tow they go on with there routs.   As far as for the towing charges they are all regulated by the 290-11 and all of his chrges are done exactly as required by law.

I am rejecting this response because:I have a receipt for my meal at the restaurant around the corner for 6:50 proving I left the establishment with ample time to arrive in time . it took me several minutes to assess the situation before I began calling towing unlimited(originally I believed the car to be stolen). After numerous attempts of contacting the company I was finally notified that my car had been towed . At which time I spoke to an  HPD officer who instructed me to document every step of the process and that there was no legal action to be taken. upon arriving at the tow yard . I asked to see the tow log at which time the receptionist showed me a text message he received at 7:08 (however the tow time is shown as 7:05). I have photo documentation of everything as well as my original receipts, and GPS estimated drive time that states the trip takes either 19 or 24 minutes .The vehicle is stated to have arrived on the property at 7:20. I have made several attempts to deal with towing unlimited directly to resolve my issue directly Sean S[redacted] directly but thus far have been unsuccessful . If the issue remains unresolved I will be looking into filing with the small claims court .
Sincerely,

Before even getting ready to tow this car our driver noticed its to close to the curb. He pulls the car forward safely 4 car length to put on the dolly bars.
while he does that a gentleman comes up to the driver swearing and yelling. The driver the ask him for license and registration for...

the car. He continues to swear and yell. Driver ask again for license and registration... Again continues with the swearing and yelling. Driver ask for the 3rd time. Same thing with the searing and yelling. Our driver then walks around the tow truck to grab his dolly bar on the car. Driver then logged the car with HPD back room at [redacted] with operator **.our driver didn't say anything to this gentleman but to ask for license and registration. No threats or swearing was made by our driver. Hpd was never called to our yard. Pictured are included of his expired meter for his car.

Mrs. [redacted] also states that she tried to call our dispatch number 5 times. We were extremely busy that night. If our operator is on the phone with another person or clearing or logging a car she must finish this Bussiness first. Mrs [redacted] never left a message. Our message clearly states our address so that persons can proceed to get there vehicle. Mrs. [redacted] also talk about getting charged 170.00 for her friends tow. The tow is 175.00 and all charges are done with accordance to the 290-11.Mrs. [redacted] also states that out tow yard looks like a chop shop. I have included photos of our tow yard from our surveillance cameras 4 angles. As far as tow yards go ours is exceptional clean. In conclusion is Mr. [redacted] would have placed his ticket on the dash board, and Mr [redacted] would have payed 2.00 more for parking neither car would have been towed.

See attached picture of no parking sign.

Yes,Thank you very much for the reply. I believe all the costs are unreasonable due to the circumstances, but I am sure they are within the law, although very unethical the way they are going about doing business. I would at least like back the $15.00 "overtime" cost and the $25.00 "storage fee." I...

feel that at least these two unrealistic costs would be refundable. There should be no "overtime" costs because they were not called out to this location, but sat on this location voluntarily so they could take advantage of a situation. The one day storage fee should be refunded because I was at their location within the hour, so there should be no one day "storage fee." Thank you[redacted]

I'm not sure how to response to this message. The person is not giving me enough info on their car, and location of the tow.
We didn't get any calls or voicemail about this person's car. I could understand much better if I have a little more info.

On August 3, 2016 around 9pm we received 4calls to tow a truck.it was parked along side the fence clearly stated "no parking". Then we revived a call from a guy screaming at the top of his lungs. He was demanding to know who called, and that he has every right to park there, and only him and his wife...

are allowed to call for tows. When we found out he was the tenant for the laundry mat, we told him we will release the truck for free... Even after how rudely he was speaking to  dispatch . While [redacted] was picking up the truck, his wife then calls and starts yelling at dispatch, and calling her all type of names. Yelling she's going to sue us and destroy our company. After that call, [redacted] had to pay for his truck.  We were giving him back his vehicle for free out of the courtesy of the fact that he was a tend it but after that crazy phone call from his wife he had to pay. 2 weeks before this, [redacted] called to have cars towed from [redacted]. The two tenants have dramas with each other. We are here to tow cars, not get involved in their drama. We then also ended our tow contract with [redacted]. He is not the only person who can call in tows on cars. Here is a photo of names that are allowed to call, and picture of the transformer fence of no parking allowed. Why does he think he can park there, when no one else is allowed to park there. He's upset and saying we towed it  illegally because be had to pay for his tow bill.
