Review: I had new tires installed and Left Front tire sensor was damaged. Sensor light was on when leaving shop. When I asked why,I was told to drive 100 miles and it would go off. It never did. The shop then told me that it was a coincidence and I would have to go to dealer to have sensor fixed. Tire began to lose air slowly. Went back to Town Fair Tire and asked them to fix it because I should not have to pay for someone's mistake. They took it in the shop and tampered with the sensor instead of replacing it. I am not a mechanic and did not know what they had done. I was treated rudely and disrespectfully at this business. I believe this is a safety issue and consumer fraud as well. I have now had those tires replaced and a new sensor properly installed which cost an additional $194.00 in parts and labor.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund and I would also like this shop to be inspected on a regular basis to make sure the technicians are not putting the public in danger.

Review: I wanted front and rear tire alignments with the purchase of 2 new tires. I was informed the front alignment could not be done due to a bad tie rod and to come back after it was replaced. Several days later after fixing the tie rod I went back for my alignments. The front alignment was supposedly done though the computer print out is still out of manufacturer specifications, and the techs won't do a rear alignment because some of the bolts are seized. Only after snapping a bolt did they decide not to continue.the counter person couldn't tell me which bolt was broken and didn't tell me that it was unsafe to drive only after I spoke to my regular mechanic was I told not to drive the car and it can be costly to fix if he can find a replacement part. The people working at town fair didn't say too much to me and quickly had me checked out before I could ask any questions but did tell me I had to fix the problem they caused. And I lost $49 on a rear alignment they won't do.Desired Settlement: I would like town fair to refund the rear alignment but definitely fix the bolt they broke asap since this is my daily driver and I can't afford to not be able to drive my car for safety issues they caused.

To Whom It May Concern:We sincerely apologize for the issue Mr. [redacted] had with his vehicle. This is the first time this office is hearing of this issue. With something of this nature it's difficult to say what happened. Depending on the condition of the under carriage the tech may or may not be at fault. At this point we will gladly cover the repair. Please have Mr. [redacted] contact me at [redacted] ext. [redacted] To arrange covering the repair.Sincerely, Rich A[redacted] Town Fair Tire

Review: I purchased tires, rims, & road hazard on 9/12/2008. When I went to replace my tires do to a hazard your rude worker Gage told me they were not covered. When I asked for a reasonable explaination he could not give me one. I asked to speek with the manager & there was none there. I then asked for a distrct managers number or a corpreate number he would not give me one. He then proceeded to let me drive out of the lot on 4 destoried tires which is illegal. I had no choice but to spend $505.34. I'm hoping townfair is willing to do something about this or I will have no other choice but to take townfair to court for the $505.35 & damages. my contact number is XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Review: On April 28, 2015, my wife took my [redacted] to Town Fair Tire to have a damaged tire patched. She waited at the store while the repair was done. Once the truck was finished, the service manager told her that the hubcap has fallen off of the rear passenger rim. He said it has been glued on and that the glue had loosened and that she was lucky she didnt lose it on the road somewhere. They placed the hubcap in the vehicle and she left.I retrieved the car from my wife later that afternoon and took it to the service dept at the [redacted] dealer where I purchased my vehicle and have it serviced. One of the service managers, one of the technicians and the parts manager all looked at the damage and agreed that they had never seen something like this happen to a rim before. They explained that all chrome caps are glued on at the factory and that the caps do not need to be removed in order to remove the tire. Only a center cap needs to be removed to expose the lug nuts and remove the wheel. Their professional opinion was that the chrome cap had been pried off of the rim by someone who thought it was a standard clip on hubcap. I received a quote of $772.04 to replace the rim.I went back to Town Fair with the quote and of the mangers said that what they could was have me leave my car with them (for an undetermined amount of time) so that they could send the rim and cap out to be re-glued by a wheel and rim repair shop. I then called the dealership and they said they did not recommend gluing the cap back on. They said that it was likely that all of the old glue could not be removed without damaging the rim. I told the manager at Town Fair what the dealership suggested and that sending the rim out to be re-glued was not a satisfactory resolution. He said that it was the best he could do. I told him I was not satisfied and that he needed to figure something out. He said he would call his corporate office, which he did and no one was available. He then gave me the number to call myself. I went home and called several times and could reach the person I was supposed to speak to. I left a message but no one called back. I called yet again and finally spoke with the head of Service. He said that he reports to the President of the company and all calls/correspondence to the President was filtered through him.I told him what happened. He said that he felt that Town Fair was not responsible for the damage and that his employees know tires and rims. (Just a note about the employees that know tire and rims A friend of mine took a car to Town Fair for 4 new tires. When the service was complete, she noticed that 3 of the tires were of one type and the other a completely different tire Had I heard this story before I took my car there, I would have chosen a different tire shop.) I asked why when I took my car in for new tires on April 7, 2015, no one mentioned that the cap was looser that there was an issue of any kind with it. He had no response. I then asked how in just 3 weeks did the cap come loose. He had no response. He made a few halfhearted attempts at an explanation (cleaners, the glue just got old and let go, etc.) When I rejected those excuses, he said that even though he felt Town Fair was not responsible, he would offer me half of the cost of the new rim. He told me to go buy a new rim and then go to the store with my receipt. I asked him to send me the offer in writing for my consideration, but have yet to receive any letter. He claimed that it would go in the mail no later than Wednesday. I dont feel that half of the cost was acceptable, as Town Fair is 100% responsible and refuses to take the blame. I would like the full cost of a new rim. $772.04. Tomorrow will be 1 week, and I have yet to hear from anyone at Town Fair.Desired Settlement: The cost of a new rim from [redacted]. $772.04

Response:

We apologize for Mr. [redacted] issue he is having with the wheel. We don't feel the damage was done at our shop. The wheel in question has a chrome cladded plastic façade glued to it. The glue let go and the entire cap is off of the wheel as a whole. If the cap was pried off by one of our techs it would be broken or cracked where it was attempted to pry off the cap. As promised a letter was mailed to Mr. [redacted] on 4/29 the day we spoke. I have attached a copy of the letter. We offered the 50% coverage strictly as a courtesy because we value Mr. [redacted] as a customer and we still stand by that offer. However we would not be able to take responsibility for the wheel given it's condition.Sincerely,[redacted] Town Fair Tire

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:For one thing, I didn't receive the letter mentioned until 3 weeks after it was promised to me. I received a voice mail from [redacted] at Town Fair on May 11, 2015 asking me to call back so that I could provide her with my address after I had already confirmed all of my information with Mr. [redacted] on April 28. I am attaching the post marked envelope below. This continues to prove to me that Town Fair could care less about my business or repairing the damage they did to my vehicle. In addition, I find it odd that Town Fair replaced the tire that was being repaired on April 28 just 3 weeks prior on April 7 and never mentioned that the cap was at all loose. I also added air to the tire about 1 hour prior to taking my vehicle to Town Fair and noticed nothing out of the ordinary with the cap in question. I find it odd that they waited until my truck was done to tell my wife that the rim "fell off" instead of letting her know immediately that there was an issue. Town Fair has a sign in the [redacted] location that indicates that they want their customers to be 100% satisfied with their experience and to let the manager know so that they can ensure that the customer is satisfied. I guess this only applies when it's a cheap and easy fix?I understand that Town Fair claims that they are offering to pay for half of the cost of a new rim to me as a courtesy, however, if they could prove that they did not damage my vehicle why would they offer anything at all? The only resolution I will be satisfied with is the entire cost of a new rim.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

At this point though we still don't feel that we are responsible for the damage to the wheel. However in the interest of satisfying our customer we will cover the wheel 100%. We are doing this strictly as a courtesy. For the coverage we would have Mr. [redacted] replace the wheel at the shop or dealership of his choosing. We will then reimburse him for the wheel and install once he provides a paid invoice from the replacement and surrenders the damaged wheel to one of our stores.Sincerely,[redacted] Town Fair Tire Customer Service

Review: Bought what I was told the best year round tires a year ago. Due to the terrible weather conditions, went back and purchased the best snow tires (even though I was told that I wouldn't need them when I purchased the year round tires). Having my children use the car was concerning, so I purchased new snow tires anyway. I was told that there is free tire changing in the spring and fall. When the snow tires were installed, we were told that the all season tires were still in "great shape", obviously seeing they were on the car for less than a year and the car is only driven locally. When we went to have the all season tires re-installed, we were told that two tires were in bad shape and that for $650.00 they would install new ones? By the way, we purchased an extra warranty as well? Two things could have happened, one, we're being lied to and upsold, or, the all season tires that were bagged when the new snow tires were installed are not the same "great shape" tires that were removed. There's no other alternative or reason why this could have happened. I will not rule out that the wrong tires could have been bagged with different tires accidently (although highly unlikely).Desired Settlement: I would like two new tires and the other two remaining tires installed on the car without any costs whatsoever (if ultimately the other two are in the condition Town Fair Tire states). This is the first time I've ever complained about anything and I hope it's the last. I will wait and see how this company responds before taking any other action/s. I feel that something is not right and would like an explanation. Thank You

We sincerely apologize for the issue [redacted] had with the store and the tires. We were contacted by [redacted] and offered to inspect the tires in another store to compare them with his invoices. If the wrong tires were returned we will replace the tires for him at no charge. If they are the correct tires and they are worn out we will cover them for him under warranty. Review: I have two complaints:1 - I went to TFT last Fall and purchased a set of snow tires. I was surprised when I got the total as it was substantially higher than I expected. There were several charges that weren't included in the tire price, and I questioned the need to replace the tire pressure monitors. I was told it was "law", I said it wasn't. Then I was told it was required by the car manufacturer, I asked for proof, nothing. Then I was told it was done as a "courtesy" to the customer. The sales person wasn't the brightest or he would have known that you don't do unauthorized work, charge the customer (I think it was about $65) and call it a "courtesy". I wanted out of there so I paid the [redacted] and left.2 - I went back to TFT this Spring to get my FREE SNOW TIRE CHANGEOVER. As described on their web site "Free Snow Tire Changeover: This is another free service that Town Fair Tire has been offering for many years. If the snow tires are installed on winter wheels we [redacted] remove the regular tires and install the snows on the vehicle at no charge to the customer. If the customer comes in with a set of snow tires not mounted on wheels we [redacted] dismount the regular tires off the wheels and remount the snow tires on the same wheels at no charge to the customer." Of course this changeover only applies to the Fall changeover to snow tires, not the Spring changeover to summer tires. I don't think it's explained this way in the television add. But the service person said the Free Changeover didn't include balancing, that's why he was charging me $20. So I'm confused by the policy and their misleading advertizing. But I paid the [redacted] and left, never to return to Town Fair Tire again.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: No settlement requested - for

Reimbursement of my $85 would be nice, but I'm sure they have an explanation. I just want everyone to be aware, and careful, of Town Fair Tire.

Dear Mr. [redacted],

We certainly apologize for any confusion regarding our changeover policy. As a courtesy I [redacted] see to it we refund the balancing charge on invoice XXXXX dated 5/2/13. The TPMS issue and a request to refund 85.00 puzzles me as there is no invoice for TPMS replacement in the Avon store. My office [redacted] issue your refund for the 21.27 promptly.

Review: I ordered a rim/tire package from town fair tire in [redacted] I had the tires ordered on a saturday and put on a week later. Prior to me getting the rim/tires put on I was told to call to make sure they had received my rims/tires. I called twice early in the week and they hadn't shown up. The manager [redacted] and the employee [redacted] both stated they would call me when the rims/tires came in. This never happened. Once saturday came around I called early and found out that my rims/tires had been delivered to the shop on the thursday before. I went to the shop to have my new rims/tires mounted. it was a very busy day for the shop and a bit overwhelming for the clerks. I gave the technicians my keys and they proceeded to put the new rims/tires on. after 2 hrs I was told the job was done and one of the 5 tires was the wrong size and I had to return for it. I walked around back and noticed they had put the wrong rims on. I walked in and told them they had messed up. The manager [redacted] had told me because it was so late in the day he was unable to put on my stock rims/tires. he told me it was ok to drive home with the wrong rims/tires and to come back on tuesday. over the next couple days I worked and did not drive. when I showed up on tuesday I examed my jeep and handed over the keys. I returned 2 hrs later and the manager [redacted] informed me that two out of the four rims I had returned had curb rash on them. I said I didn't hit any curbs and that my jeep had been parked in a parking lot all week end. He proceeded to argue and argue about how it was my fault that the rims were damaged. Before I had dropped the jeep off I went over my jeep thoroghly and there was no scratches dents or chipped paint anywhere on the rims. [redacted] the manager also informed me that I was going to be charged 150 dollars to remount my old stock rims. after speaking with the district manager the price was reduced to 100$. Not only were the wrong parts ordered but the customer care was absolutely awful. from the district manager down.Desired Settlement: 100 dollars mounting fee reimbursed.

Review: On November 25, 2014 I went to my local Town Fair Tire Center, located at [redacted] Avenue in [redacted] Connecticut, to purchase snow tires. When I arrived that day my vehicle had two [redacted] 4 Plus tires (purchased from this same Town Fair Tire location 01/28/13) on the front and two [redacted] tires on the rear (purchased via a wholesaler of the Town Fair Tire Center in Torrington, Connecticut in September 2013. I worked with the same salesman who sold me the [redacted], EJ and was sold 4 N[redacted] Sport snow tires at a price of $99.00 each tire and the total invoice was $557.91. Upon EJ's initial tire inspection that day, he informed me the two [redacted] tires would be kept for reuse since they were in better shape and then said the two [redacted] tires would be thrown out. It was a very hectic store visit that day as EJ was having problems with the register and I left the [redacted] Town Fair Tire with new snow tires and two bagged up [redacted] tires that day. On April 24, 2015 I returned to the [redacted] Town Fair Tire to have the snow tires removed and have my vehicle's four summer tires put on. I dealt with EJ once again, and left the store with four bagged tires that day. On November 16, 2015, with winter fast approaching, I scheduled a snow tire changeover appointment at the [redacted]l Town Fair Tire Center, online, for November 24, 2015. I decided to bring the tires up from my basement on November 19, 2015. There were six bagged tires in total and when I removed the tire bags I discovered I was missing a N[redacted] snow tire. I had three (3) N[redacted] Sport tires, two (2) [redacted] 4 Plus tires and 1 [redacted] tire. I went to the [redacted] Town Fair Tire Center immediately. I spoke to Juan and explained the situation to him. Juan informed me EJ was no longer working there. I brought all the tires and showed him I still had a [redacted] tire, which should have been thrown out on November 25, 2014, and only three (3) N[redacted] Sport tires. I told Juan I was charged for four snow tires and requested the situation remedied. Juan said he would talk to his manager, Al, and said the corporate office would have to investigate. Juan said the corporate office was already closed but he would forward them the info and contact them in the morning. Juan said he would put two of the N[redacted] Sport snow tires on the front of my car the following day, November 20, 2015, and the other two snow tires would be put on after the corporate office investigated the situation (My receipt for the two (2) [redacted] tires purchased elsewhere was provided). He said it would take them a few days to investigate the situation and he would get back to me. Juan put the two N[redacted] Sport snow tires on the front of my car the following day. Upon my leaving the store that day, Juan assured me I would hear from him, or the corporate office within a week about the missing snow tire. I never heard back from anyone. I went back to the store a week later and Juan was not there and neither was the manager. I had to re-explain the situation, only to be told I had to wait to hear from the corporate office once again. It is now December 21, 2015, and no one from the [redacted] location or the Town Fair Tire corporate office has contacted me.Desired Settlement: I want the four (4) N[redacted] Sport snow tires that I paid for. I do not think the [redacted] location or the Town Fair Tire corporate office ever planned on investigating or rectifying this issue, and this is outright stealing. I honestly feel I should be given a brand new set of two matching N[redacted] Sport snow tires for the rear of my car. Thank you.

We sincerely apologize for the issue [redacted] experienced at the store Unfortunately neither Juan nor EJ ever contacted us regarding this problem. Review: On 9/28/2014 I was involved in an accident where I hit a raised structure in Downtown New Haven which resulted in a flat tire on the front left and the back left of my 2011 [redacted] AWD. On 9/29/2014 I went into the Town Fair Tire of [redacted] business with one lose tire to purchase one tire to replace the front flat tire. The sales associate that took care of me sold me a closeout tire which ended up costing me $84.97 after tax. I went home happily after getting such a great deal. On 9/30/2014 I went back to Town Fair tire to purchase another tire to replace the back flat tire which was now in my trunk. So at this point I had 2 [redacted] tires (Original tires) 1 closeout tire which I got from Town fair and 1 donut. I spoke to the manager and he explained to me that in order for them to align my car all 4 tires would have to be equal and that I couldn't return the closeout tire since it was a closeout. I told the manager that I was not aware that all tires needed to be of the same brand. After some arguing and reasoning the manager and I came to the agreement that he would take the closeout tire back if I bought 2 tires to match my original [redacted] tires. Two weeks later on 10/21/14 I noticed that the low tire pressure light came on in my car. I checked the tires and realized that the two front tires which were now the original two tires that were left after the accident were significantly lower in tread, and the front right tire was very uneven; as in the tread on the outer side of the tire was lower than the tread on the left side of the tire. I went back to town fair tire and was told that I needed to purchase 4 new tires. So in two weeks I went from needing 2 tires to needing 4 tires.Desired Settlement: I would like Town Fair of [redacted] to cover the damage done to my older tires or take back the tires that they sold me plus the tires that they ruined and sell me 4 tires for roughly $382.27 which is what I paid for the 2 [redacted] tires that they sold me.

Response:

Considering the incident that occurred in our store I will gladly refund the amount paid when the tires are returned and you are welcome to go elsewhere. We had nothing to do with the old tires. Refund will only be issued when the tires purchased are returned.

Review: On April 30, I went into Town Fair Tire and purchased 4 new wheels to be put on my car. The people working there were very helpful and got my car in right away to be taken care of. After they finished the installation, the manager approached me and informed me that they had made a mistake and would need to order new tire sensors for my car and that I would not have to pay any extra money for their mistake. I was fine with this and had no problem coming back again to get it taken care of. After about 2 weeks of not hearing from them, I went in and asked about the status of the order. They told me the parts had been ordered and I should be expecting a call anytime. I then waited another month before calling them and asking again. The man who answered told me the manager was on vacation and that he would call me on the following Monday. When Monday came, I received no phone call. I then waited yet another month before calling them yet again. This time I received the same exact story. The manager "[redacted]" was not there and he would call me the following Monday. This was 2 weeks ago and I still have not received a phone call. I have also tried contacting the Corporate Customer Service Center. After about 10 calls and voicemails they have not called me back or answered any of my emails.Desired Settlement: All I want from them is to finish the job that they started on my car 4 months ago. At this point it's a safety hazard to be driving around in a car having no tire monitors. In addition to this, the rims that are only 4 months old, have rust leaking out of them. I don't mind wiping the rust off occasionally but it is insane that I paid $600 for such a poor product. I could've bought the same wheels elsewhere for cheaper but I was willing to pay extra for the "great customer service" I thought I was going to receive.

Review: This issue is regarding your [redacted] location. (there is no drop down menu to select this location)

Dear Mr. Allen, I have written directly to you in the past regarding this same issue in two of your other locations [redacted] I have stopped complaining because I saw no results in correcting the issue with your associates. The Manager of the [redacted] location is aware of this issue. However, I have now four times had my tires rotated by your company and EVERY time they rotate the tires they do not change the tire pressure from 35psi in the front to 33psi in the rear. This is now THREE locations and four separate times that your associates have not followed manufacture's instructions on rotating tires. The reason I am writing and not ignoring the issue this time is because I specifically told your employee while writing up the order that this has happened before, I have had to complain, and I cannot have it continue to happen. I even had to purchase a digital tire gauge to check on your employees every time I have service with Town Fair Tire. If the tire pressure is supposed to be 35 in front and 33 in rear, then you must change them BACK to 35/33 after you put the front tires on the back, and the back tires on the front.

Again, I am writing to you because I have seen no change in your policy regarding associates rotating tires correctly--so much so that the Manager at the [redacted] location even said "What can I do for you now? I can't guarantee that this won't happen in the future, but what can I do for you now?" Tires are your ONLY business and you should be able to rotate them correctly 99% of the time. I do not want this to happen a fifth time on a future visit. I use Town Fair Tire because tire rotation comes free with the tire purchase, but free still has to be correct. (yes, I also understand the difference between cold inflation and warm inflation, but the tires were switched and the pressure was not) The manager's comment that he could not prevent it in the future is what incensed me to write to you. Tire rotation should be taught correctly in your company.Desired Settlement: Include in your training manual that if tire pressures are different in the front and rear tires, that they will need to be adjusted when they move the front tires to the back and the back tires to the front. It's very simple and they should be checking the correct tire pressure anyway, as tires are all you work on. How about just physically write in ink on the invoice what the service agent has adjusted the tire pressure to. Then all tires would always be correct.

Response:

Please keep in mind that this is the fourth time this problem occurred and I have had the same problem in three different locations across Massachusetts and Connecticut. Each time Town Fair Tire says they address the issue with the store, they have not corrected their business practices and I continue to have the same exact problem. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I went to Town Fair Tire to purchase two new tires for my caravan. I was asked if I would like an alignment done while I was there. I said fine, because I don't believe one had been done in a while. When I went to pick up my van, the gentleman who worked on my van, told me my tire rods were bad. I then proceeded to contact my mechanic and he did a thorough inspection of them and told me that they did not need replacing at this time. After that I brought my van to be inspected and it received a sticker no problem. Nothing was said to me about the tire rods at all. I went back to Town Fair and told them everything and that I wanted my money back for that I paid for the alignment. They refused to give me my money back. The gentleman at that waited on me insisted that they put it up on lift and show me the tire rods. I told him that was not necessary because two people had looked at them and that I would not know what I was looking to make my own determination. He told me that my mechanic and the inspection station didn't check them properly. I don't know how he would know this. I was a loyal customer of Town Fair and have never had a problem up until now. I do take the safety of my vehicle seriously.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I would like for Town Fair Tire to honor my request and give me the refund for the alignment with no questions asked. I also would like an apology for the way that they treated me. I feel that they out right called my mechanic and the inspection station person incompetent. I know they are doing their job by informing me of their opinion and I am thankful for that.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the partial settlement response from the business.)

I do accept the company's response. However, just to be clear on the events that took place, there was no confusion on things. I specifically asked for the money to be refunded and the technician out right refused. I don't understand where the word confusion comes into play here? I am grateful for the refund, however, I am disappointed that it took filing a complaint with the Revdex.com to resolve a simple request.

Review: I received 2 alignments at the Augusta, Me Town Fair Tire location. I had unreasonable tire wear on my tires. Brought my vehicle to [redacted] and was told that it had looked like an alignment never had been done by Town Fair Tire and the their Computer Diagnostic showed a discrepancy between the two alignments which were done 4 days from each other. There was no change in my driving patterns. Was told by town fair tire manager a "gust of wind" could have cause it to be out of align.Desired Settlement: I am not looking for a financial settlement as I did receive my money back for Town Fair's alignment. It was the lack of compassion for my situation of having to replace my tires after premature wear due to their faulty alignment.

Review: Contacted business with the following:

11/3/15

To Whom It May Concern,

At the end of August, I was in to the [redacted] store to buy four tires for my daughter’s car. I had chosen the tires beforehand that were what I was looking for and offered a total rebate of $80. The sales man informed me they were not in stock but he had a similar tire in quality close to price also with a rebate. When picking up the car, I was not given information on how to apply for the rebate. The sales man stated he had made a mistake. The tires he had sold did not have a rebate offer but that Town Fair would send the rebate amount to our home stating our information was in the computer. As of this date, we have not received the rebate amount. I am hoping you can check your computer records and we can resolve this issue in a timely manner.

Thank you,

[redacted] Date 11/6/15

Hi [redacted] Thank you for your recent purchase. I sincerely apologize that you haven’t received your rebate. Unfortunately I don’t have any record of a rebate for you. However I will gladly process this for you next week. I will use the address you provided below.

Sincerely,

Rich Al[redacted] Customer Service Coordinator

Thank you for responding. I am disappointed to hear that there is not a record and a bit concerned. Is this a sales tactic with the hope that person will not pursue it? Shame on me for falling for it and not requesting it be put into writing. I trusted the salesman. I have yet to share my experience as I am still hoping it can be resolved. As of this date, I have not received the offered rebate which you said you would process below. Your attention to this would be appreciated.

As of this date 1/9/16, the rebate has not been sent.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the rebate offered.

Review: Went to have tires rotated, aligned and balanced. Sales person told me I needed all new tires. Ironically, I had just left the Honda Dealer who told me my tires were in great shape and only needed to be rotated, aligned and balanced. I decided to go to Town Fair Tire for the price difference - dealer was more expensive. I feel that the sales person was trying to take advantage of me due to my being a female. I complained to the Management at their Headquarters in East Haven, they apologized and told me they would reimburse me $70.00 to compensate for the $100.00 I spent to have the services performed (I did not purchase any tires). I never received the compensation and did file a written complaint with the Customer Service Management, twice. [redacted], CS Manager sent me two e-mails aplolgizing for the delay - to date I still have not received any reimbursement. I filed my initial written complaint with Town Fair Tire on 3/13/15 and a follow up on 3/27/15.Desired Settlement: As promised by [redacted], at the very least the reimbursement check for $70.00. Mr. [redacted] has the address the check was supposed to be sent to.

Review: Scratched all 4 rim removing the weights. They also scratched the rims around the lug nuts. The work was supposedly done by the service manager who should know better than to install the lug nuts with an impact gun on aluminum rims Then they proceeded to tell me that I had used rim on my brand new truck (2367Miles at time of incident). I have the build sheet from the truck to confirm that they came with the truck It was taken to this location after the [redacted] location recommended I take it there for the alignment, since the equipment derby has clamps on the tire not the rim.Desired Settlement: Want rim replaced with same rims, Do not want this location to install. Want work done at [redacted] location

Review: Town Fire Tire in Westfield, MA attempted to install the wrong tires on purpose. I called on 12/16/2013 at 4:23pm. The phone call was about 4.5 minutes.J[redacted]: Yes. Honda Civic LX...sedan.[redacted]: OK. It should be 195/65/15. Let me check on those now...the XI3s...they're not something I have in the building. They're something that I can order in from my warehouse. Um. Should take about a day as along as they are physically down there. My computer currently thinks that there are three of them. Eight of them in stock. Two sites are still showing down there.J[redacted]: What are the prices?[redacted]: I'm checking on the right now. The computer is being difficult on me. $124 a piece...If you'd like I could order the tires right now.J[redacted]: Sure. What time will they be there tomorrow.[redacted]: They'll be there by about 11:00am tomorrow (12/17/2013).J[redacted]: OK. Yeah. So that's Michelin X-Ice Xi3.[redacted]: Michelin X-Ice Xi3. Correct.J[redacted]: And it's for Mr. [redacted]: Just one moment. I'll try and see if I can order the tires here...because I have 87 stores pulling from one warehouse. Sometimes inventory lags behind a little bit. OK. So there's four left and I'm ordering them as we speak. OK. So, they are ordered up and they should be here tomorrow. What's the phone number where we should be able to reach you at sir. J[redacted]: ###-###-####[redacted]: And your name again?J[redacted]: J[redacted]. Four of them?[redacted]: Four of them.I called on December 17, 2013 at 11:35am.[redacted] Town Fair Tire Westfield Dave Speaking: Can I help you?J[redacted]: Uh. Yeah. I'd like to see if my order is in.[redacted] Did you do an Internet order or did you?J[redacted]: I called over the phone yesterday. They're supposed to be in today by 11:00 O'clock. Michelin X-Ice Xi3, I believe. [redacted] I'm checking. And your name?J[redacted]: J[redacted] Kapinos.[redacted] What was the tire size, J[redacted]: I don't know. It's for a 2013 Honda Civic LX. I think it's maybe 195...Desired Settlement: Stop switching tires and attempting to deliberately install any tire on hand, not the tire I specifically ordered. I caught them in the act and interrupted. So, I don't know what price they would have charged me for the tires. Perhaps they would have installed the Xi2 and would have gone ahead with charging me the Xi2 price. Or they could have been real crooked and installed the Xi2 but charge me for the Xi3. I cannot even find the Xi2 in my size, 195/65R15/XL 95.

Response:
