Our client relations manager contacted [redacted] earlier today to advise him that his refund check will be at the dealership by Monday, February **.  Manager will secure all appropriate signatures and will overnight the refund check to Toyota Financial so that his account may be closed and collection agency alerted that account is closed with no further monies due.

As per our conversation, please update the above complaint from [redacted] regarding the status of her registration.   I checked with our DMV clerk yesterday and was advised that [redacted] registration was at our DMV service and is expected to be back at the dealership within the next two...

days.  I called the client yesterday and left a message advising her of her registration status.   Thanks!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

That's a baloney. It's their pre-planned marketing strategy. I've seen in carfax that this vehicle was in their sister dealership and that is why I've called to make sure. They've checked by stock number and said that they have it in-stock. (Otherwise I'd go to their sister) And instead of making it right they didn't say that they don't have it until after they'd walked me trough each and every overpriced car they had. Sure they can blame on .com, probably that's why it had the "manager's special" sticker with big discount on it. And I'm just only one person, what about [redacted] who showed that car and waiting for affiliate commission for probably many thousands times. They think they've got the free advertisement trick.

Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me. I went to Toyota of Manhattan and spoke to John, and Anthony. Basically, the options that they gave me were not satisfactory to me. Basically, Toyota is not responding for giving me a car that came with  manufacture problems. The options they gave me I would be losing roughly $15,000-$20,000. Instead of helping me with this problem for something that is not my fault, they are giving me options to be in debt for another car. I would totally understand this option if I caused problems to the car but I have not done any cosmetic problems, or accidents to the car. Toyota of Manhattan also told me other than the options they gave today (11/**/2016) they really cannot help me because the people who sold the car to me are not working there anymore. Also, that I did not file a complaint with Toyota of Manhattan, which this is wrong because I filed complaints with the Toyota company. Like I said to the guy if I moved to Miami with my car, did I really need to go to Manhattan for a problem ? Toyota warranty is with ANY TOYOTA dealer.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: On May *, 2015 Toyota charged myself for new for my vehicle and never delivered. I had to come out of pocket to purchase the plates for the car. So not only am I out of the money they originally charged, but also /he amount it took to register the vehicle. I have been in constant contact with two different people the first was Brain D[redacted] and the second was a manager name Kevin P[redacted] but to no avail. Only promises that I would receive a refund was given. Now after nine months I decided to report them.Desired Settlement: Hold Toyota responsible for delivering my refund so that they won't be able to do this to other customers.

Review: I am been having very bad experience with the sale department of this dealer. A little bid more than 2 months I buy out my lease (a 2012 Camry) and at the same time I lease a 2014 Highlander. During this process I paid to the dealer the processing fee for my Camry registration and the person who supposed to do the paper work I imaging that never did, even with friendly reminders when the expiration date for the temporary registration was close by. My temporary registration got expired and of course I got a ticket. I called several times to the facility and always the answer was that a [redacted] will call me back. After more than 3 days a representative call me back with the excuse that no one let him known about this issue. Can you believe how many hours and days for your time to have to use to claim for a service which supposed to be done and you already paid?

After all I got a call from one [redacted] stating that I supouse to receive the reimbursement with 2 weeks and I am attaching the email he sent to me:

1st email: Dear [redacted],

Thank you for sending me the email. When we spoke yesterday, I was not assigning blame or giving excuses. I was trying to inform you that I was not able to have already taken care of this because it was never brought to my attention by the sales rep you are working with. Now that I have the info, I'm ready to resolve all of this.

I have a meeting with my [redacted] 1st thing on Monday morning(6/**/14), I will speak about your registration situation to rectify any errors made. Once you are able to send me the receipt for the paid ticket, I can bring that to our accounting department for reimbursement.

No more excuses, only solutions!!! [redacted]r

Sincerely,

Review: Toyota offered to buy my car on February ** so I left the car with them and was told I would be contacted the next morning to finalize. I heard nothing for over a month. After this month, I finally heard from Nick T[redacted] who said he was new to the company and that what happened to me has been happening to quite a few others. I told him I wanted my car back and he said I couldn't have it because they already sold it (despite it still belonging to my bank). Then he did not get back to me for another month at which point I heard from Dorothy R[redacted]. After several more weeks she called and said they had paid off my car to my bank. Several weeks later I find out that they never paid my bank. It is now May * and they have been holding my car since February **. I want my car back immediately.Desired Settlement: I want my car back immediately.

Review: I left a deposit of $1000 with toyota of manhattan on 11/**/14 for a down payment for a vehicle. I purchased a vehicle from another dealership shortly after. There have been several attempts to get my money back from toyota of Manhattan. They have ignored all of my calls and emailsI have even been in contact with toyota finance and toyota of manhattan have ignored their calls as well.I have also been in contact with the attorney general. They have ignored all calls from everyone. The attorney general says my only recourse is small claims court.I have all necessary proof and documentation to substantiate my claims.Desired Settlement: Refund of $1000 with interest

Business

Response:

[redacted] left a deposit on 11/**/14. He did not request a refund to my knowledge until March **, 2015. As per company policy, deposits are refunded in the manner in which they're received. [redacted] left said deposit on a credit card. According to [redacted], he no longer has this credit card. We requested a letter from [redacted] allowing us to credit a different card in lieu of the original card. [redacted] refused our request. We need the letter to ensure that there is no dispute remaining with the original card at a later date. [redacted] doesn't want to give us a letter allowing credit to another card; he would prefer a refund check. We are in the process of getting said check; however, we are still requesting a letter from [redacted] to accept a check refund as opposed to credit card refund. Our Client Relations Manager will be contacting [redacted] regarding the letter and his refund. Please note, in regards to [redacted]'s complaint, we have not received any requests for action from the Attorney General.

Response:

Company policy requires all deposits to be refunded in the form they were received. Several times we had requested a letter from [redacted] granting permission for Toyota of Manhattan to refund his deposit in check form as he indicated to us that he no longer had the credit card on which he originally left the deposit. We received the letter from [redacted] on Friday, October **, 2015. We sent the check request to our corporate office on Monday, October **. Refund check was received from our corporate office on Friday, October **. [redacted] was contacted today and a message was left asking if he would like to pick up his check or have it sent via Overnight delivery. We are awaiting his response.

Review: I purchase a vehicle in January 2013, which is a Toyota Sienna, year 2011, the mileage at time of purchase was

32390, and the price was 20518.50. I was attended by a salesman called ** and his [redacted], they were both rude and we're not professionals.

At the time of purchase the Service was very poor, and I felt lots of pressure, like of feedback when asking questions and no answer to my phone calls. I wrote a review complaint at the store website to alert other customers.

My reason for filing this complaint and seek urgent help is that last Saturday I was shopping around for a new vehicle and asked the salesman if I were to trade in my current car how much would I get. To my surprise the store run a Carfax report and show me the print which read that the car was involved in a accident, and had the odometer rollback. All this information was never disclosed at time of purchase. In conclusion the car was overpriced when they sold it to us. I was told that if I they would give me anything for the car the price would be between $12.000 to $10.000. I am in state of shock right now and went to Toyota Manhattan on Monday [redacted] April. Explained the situation to their [redacted] called [redacted] and he promised to return back to me with a solution and I didn't hear anything yet! I need help to get a solicitor and a refund, I am prepared to file a legal complaint. Thank you for your help.Desired Settlement: Settlement with a refund

Business

Response:

[redacted] has spoken to customer in regards to this issue. The odometer statement was correct at time of sale as proof is evident on car fax, purchase order, sales contracts. CRM did explain the accident history and can not prove whether this was explained at time of sale due to heresay(salesperson, [redacted] no longer employed at Dealership)-- CRM is sending copies of "CarFax" and "AutoCheck" history to customer for further evidence of no tampering with vehicle history. Review: After recently moving from [redacted] to [redacted], on June **, 2015 I sold our family's 2013 Prius to Toyota of Manhattan for $13,000 (VIN [redacted]). On a prior meeting, it was conveyed to me that a check would be supplied on the date of sale. However, upon supplying our title and two sets of keys, I was informed that the dealership was owned by a larger company in [redacted] and that they would be sending the check via mail. I was somewhat uncomfortable with this situation, however I thought things would be fine since: 1) I had a signed document: "Used Car purchase check request" which had the sales price, date, name of the dealership, and the Used Car sales managers signature, 2) I was selling the vehicle back to a certified Toyota dealership, 3) I retained copies of my [redacted] Certificate of Title, 4) Toyota of Manhattan stated that the check would take no longer than 8 days to arrive at our residence.

After 8 days had elapsed without receiving the check or being contacted by Toyota of Manhattan with an update, I began to grow concerned. I repeatedly called the dealership only to be told that both managers and the used car sales manager were not available. I did some research and was dismayed to find out a very similar incident had been reported on the Revdex.com by a couple from [redacted] earlier this year. Given this previous incident along with my current interactions with the dealership, I'm concerned the dealership is going to continue to withhold payment and make the currently unverifiable claim: "the check is in the mail".Desired Settlement: Toyota of Manhattan should immediately send the check in the amount of $13,000 for the automobile they purchased in June, along with proof of mail and the the expected date of delivery.

Review: On November **, 2014, my wife and I sold our 2012 Toyota Corolla, VIN number [redacted], to Toyota of Manhattan for $10,700. We have not yet received payment for the automobile, despite repeated calls to Toyota of Manhattan and repeated assertions from Toyota of Manhattan that a check had been mailed to us. We have reported the sale of the car to the State of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and have mailed our VA license plates to Virgina DMV. They were received by DMV on December **, 2014.Desired Settlement: Toyota of Manhattan should promptly send us a check in the amount of $10,700 in payment for the automobile they purchased from us on November **, 2014.

[Your Answer Here]Although Manhattan Toyota's response to Revdex.com said that they had mailed a check to us yesterday, my wife just spoke to Manhattan Toyota on the phone and was told that a check had not yet been mailed. She was told that the check is in New Jersey. We will be satisfied that the matter has been closed when Manhattan Toyota's check for $10,700 has been cleared by our bank, and not before then.

Review: On Feb **, 2016 I sold my car 2007 BMW to Toyota of Manhattan - sales person - Jorge R[redacted]. I had a free and clear title, was told I would receive a cash buy out of $8,000. I was told I would receive a check in the mail 4-7 business days. It has been over 10 business days, I have called the dealership numerous times and emailed and no response from them. They are clearly avoiding me. When I called the dealership today they said "Jorge" was not in - again and he was the only one that could take care of this so I have emailed the Dealer general manager.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my check for $8,000 immediately.

Review: I purchased a car at Toyota of Manhattan. I was lied to and told I MUST purchase a five year warranty. I told the saleperson, [redacted], I did not want the warranty, but just the regular warranty that came with the car. The slaesperson charged me an extra 1,600 for a warratny I did not want nor ask for. When I recevied my final sales invoice it stated an additional 1,600 charge. I called the company and as told I only have the regular 1 year warranty. I asked what the extra 1,600 was for. So I paid an extra 1,600 for a warranty I never asked for and in the end never even received (even though I did not want it in the first place) the additional 5 year warranty. I told them I wanted a refund immediately and they agree but gave me lies about needing permission for ** but this was also a lie as I called [redacted] and they informed me that ** does not get involved with customer disputes. I still have not been reimursed my 1,600 dollars.Desired Settlement: I have not recived any refund for the 1,600 that was promised me.

Business

Response:

In reference to this case. Customer's warranty has been cancelled. In the event of a situation like this, if the customer is still making payments on the vehicle(loan not fullfilled yet)-- Toyota applies the refund to the principle of payments. This has all been done as of today.-- Request Close

Toyota of Manhattan

Review: At the beginning of April 2015, Toyota of Manhattan offered to buy out the lease to my 2012 Prius, which I agreed to. They, however, never made payments to Toyota financial. I continued to receive bills, but the dealership assured me that they were taking care of it. These bills went to collection. I called multiple times and every time I was told they had sent a check to Toyota financial, but I don’t see how that could have possibly been true as when I spoke with Toyota financial they had not received anything. I told a representative at Toyota of Manhattan that this was ruining my credit, and I also asked him to email me any correspondence they had had with Toyota financial so that I could take care of the matter. He said he would, but he never did. It is now the end of July 2015 and I am getting calls from collection agencies every day. To my knowledge the dealership has not made any of the payments that they promised to make.

I also never received the registration to my new vehicle. Again, I called several times concerned about this issue and several times Toyota of Manhattan said they would resend the registration. They never did. I have received, to date, over $1,000 in tickets for not displaying registration tags, I have made Toyota of Manhattan aware of this amount, but no restitution from Toyota of Manhattan has been offered.Desired Settlement: I would like Toyota of Manhattan to clear the blemish on my credit, get me my registration tags as promised and offer some restitution for the financial hardship they have caused me.

Business

Response:

Sorry for the delay in responding. I now have all the information from Toyota Financial Services. I have reached out to the client by phone and email with the response. It took a lot longer to get answers from Toyota than I thought. She will even be receiving a $38.26 refund from them. [redacted] just returned my email and appears to be happy. Please let me know if there is a way I can officially answer this complaint? Thank you in advance, Jason M[redacted]

Sincerely,

Review: the transmission of my car has been malfunctioning since it hit the 8,poo miles. I took the car to be checked and the mechanic at the Toyota agreed that my car had a transmission problem but they did not repair it. I took the car again at 23,000 miles, 47, 000 miles, 58,000 at this point another mechanic told me that they make me go back an d forward until your car goes over the warranty mileage. My car actually has 100,000 miles and I have been in the Toyota of Manhattan over 9 times to complaint about the transmission problem and they still have not done anything to my car. I feel frustrated because I'm paying for a "Brand New Car" and I feel that they sold me a lemon.

I spoken to everyone from the sales person who sold me the car. the [redacted] of the dealer, the staff at the service dept. and no one has been able to help me.Desired Settlement: I want the Toyota of Manhattan to change the transmission of my car. I have followed the protocol. I expect them to honor the warranty.

Business

Response:

In reference to case# [redacted], 1) Customer is using vehicle for TLC purposes(Taxi), Customer was made well aware at time of purchase that Toyota does not cover transmission for TLC vehicles under warranty. 2) Vehicle was road tested multiple times by technician, Professional diagnosis states; " Tech road tested vehicle and found vehicle operating as designed. Tech scanned CPU for code, None present, Vibration at high speed is normal". 3) Customer's last service visit at Dealership (4/*/14) consisted of "oil change and replaced shock absorbers". Dealership personel and [redacted] all spoke to customer at time of issue and tried explaining. CRM also wants it documented that at no point did a technician tell the customer "they make you go back and forward until your car goes over the warranty mileage" and to reiterate that point, if a mechanic told a customer "there is a problem with the transmission, but they didn't fix it"-- would be an illegal and safety concern that would put the entire dealership in liability if actually true. Dealership did everything in its power to assist customer with vehicle issue. Dealership will not compensate customer by replacing transmission free of charge.

Review: Did not diagnose and repair car fully during repair work in January; the lack of repairs led to future problems within the car and Toyota of Manhattan has been rejecting all calls and will not take responsibility of actions. Do not return phone calls, do not help resolve the issue, and have been acting in a un-professional manner in dealing with entire issue. I have been without a car for over a month and have been spending hundreds of dollars on alternative transportation.Desired Settlement: Fix the underlying issue within the car.

Business

Response:

In reference to this case, I have spoken with the Dealership's Service [redacted] who has informed me that Toyota of Manhattan states that no mechanical work was performed on this vehicle at time of service. Only bodywork was performed on the vehicle as per customer and Insurance Company's request. Dealership is not responsible for mechanical issues with [redacted]'s vehicle. Toyota of Manhattan does not have a resolution for this issue as the Dealership finds fault with the Dealership in Massachusetts that customer brought vehicle to after his visit to Toyota of Manhattan.

Review: Toyota of Manhattan through [redacted] quoted us an advertised price of $11,990 for a 2011 Toyota Rav4 Sport VIN# [redacted] on August **, 2013. This price was advertised on its website, as well as via email from [redacted]. I reverified the price with [redacted] yesterday via telephone conversation and scheduled a test drive for August **, 2013. Once we arrived to the car dealer on August **, 2013, Toyota of Manhattan refused to honor the price saying it was a "mistake" even though acknowledging that was the publicly advertised price.Desired Settlement: Toyota of Manhattan should be held accountable for luring customers into its showroom with false advertised prices.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Toyota of Manhattan violated the law by using classic bait and switch tactics. It refused to sell us the car as advertised in print and verbally verified on the telephone to schedule a test drive. Once we were in the showroom to test drive, suddenly the car was the not the price as advertised. I would encourage the Revdex.com to leave the complaint visible so that unsuspecting customers will not fall prey to same illegal tactics. (And Toyota did not take a deposit and return it. The company can't even get the facts of the this incident right because they apparently do this all the time. They simply refused to sell us the car we came in to buy).

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I walked into the dealer on 7/**/13 to trade in a leased 2010 Toyota Rav 4 whose leased was about to expire. I was exploring my options and decided to purchase a new vehicle. I traded my leased vehicle for a financed 2012 Toyota Rav 4. I signed all contracts and was under the impression that the deal was finalized. I was given a letter saying that the leased vehicle was purchased by them and that I was free and clear of that vehicle. Two weeks later I get a call from the finance department of the dealership saying that the deal is still not finalized and is pending a letter from my trustee because im in Chapter 13 and the bank has approved the loan. I requested the letter and it was submitted to the dealership. A week after that (8/**/13) I recieved a call from Toyota Financial regarding the 2010 lease looking for payment becuase the dealer has not paid off the vehicle. I made a down payment of $4,200.00 and was not about to make a payment to a lease that I no longer had in my posession. The 2 employees that handles my sale are no longer with the dealership seems to me that have been fired. Ive been in contact with the dealer still no final solution and now Toyota Financial is calling everyday about the lease and payment for the vehicle. This experience has been absoultely horrible, unprofessional and no one has a sense of urgency to follow up.Desired Settlement: I want to resolve the 2010 lease, and my money back for the new vehicle purchase. Im ready to return the second car and use my money in a more professional business.
