I purchased this phone for my mother to use, specifically because it was a no contract way for her to have phone. I pay for the phone and minutes. It took me 3 hrs to set the phone up simply because you cannot talk to a live person, and their phone system is horrible. Kept sending me back or disconnecting me altogether, Since I dont have the phone, I registered on their horrible, horrible website so I could check balance of minutes. After 3 log-off and log-on, I still could not get balance and had to use their "speak to a live person" via their site. They finally provided me with minute balance. I have learned a lesson from this experience--DO NOT USE TRACFONE and dont expect good customer support or an easy process for anything with this company. Look at Revdex.com first. Overall rating is minus 10 stars
I have read all six negative customer reviews on the Revdex.com website, and I completely agree with them. They are SLOW SLOW SLOW to accomplish the simplest of tasks. Twice they sent me text messages offering promotion codes for extra minutes, and both times I tried using the promo codes they didn't work. Thus, each time I had to call Tracfone to have this resolved, and each time it took almost 30 minutes to accomplish. I had the same experience recently when I was transferring minutes from a friend's phone to mine. The customer service rep literally came on the line about 4 times and said, "just 3 more minutes." As soon as I can afford a better carrier I'm dumping them.
Had a phone number for about 13 years. Transferred to tracfone 3 .or 4 years ago. Never ran out of time. Have until 2018 for time. Transferred number to new phone and they never transferred minutes. Called and they transferred the minutes and changed my phone number. .There answer is sorry for the inconvenience but we can't retrieve the number back. The computer generated a new number. .Told them how important it was to get the number back all I get is sorry for the inconvenience. Oped operation manger for tracfone wireless and was no help at all.
.
We had a major problem with the sim card we got in the phone and we called customer service and they said they would send a new Sim card in 3 to 5 days. So we waited nothing came in the mail we then call again and they said the Sim was sent to Florida I live in Pennsylvania how do you get those two mixed up I don't know. So they said they would send us another one and once again still no sim .we called back again and they make a story saying my address wasn't real. So once again they said they would send it again but we have completely given up on tracfone and we can't believe they treat customers like that.
I HAVE USED TRACFONE FOR A FEW YEARS NOW BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN OVER 2000 MINUTES AND TEXTS WERE REMOVED FOR WHAT REASON IDK. CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THEY WERE USED BUT HAVE NO WAY OF SEEING HOW AND WHY. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ALSO PURCHASED OVER 2000 TEXTS, A 200 MINUTE CARD AND DATA CARD AND THEY SHOW NO RECORD. THANKFULLY MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY REMOVED THE CHARGES AND ARE GOING AFTER THEM. BEWARE..........KEEP A LOG OF YOUR MINUTES AND SUCH. DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP THEM BUT IT'S WORTH IT AND DON'T PURCHASE TOO MANY AT A TIME SO YOU KNOW THEY CAN'T REMOVE TOO MUCH IF THIS HAPPENS. I'M DONE WITH THEM.
I've had Tracfone for several years and have had quite a few issues. Most recently I purchased a new phone , went through the tedious process of transferring the number, which is made difficult because the person helping me do so does not speak clear English causing a lot of language barriers. Upon finally doing so, they take over 1/2 of my minutes away. When I ask why, I get no response. I still don't know why. I had 1178.8 minutes and after transferring my number was left with 500. So they basically stole my minutes. To top it off my phone in which I had for maybe 2 weeks stopped working. After speaking with yet again someone else who speaks barely any English, it's figured out the Sim card is bad. On my 2 week old phone. So they suggest I buy a new phone? Really, no. They are sending me a new one, or at least I hope so. I couldn't understand the lady enough to write down the ticket number. So hopefully soon I'll be able to use that new phone. Ugh. I would never recommend tracfone to anyone. I can not think of a positive about the company.
Worst customer service I have had to deal with. I was put on hold. And left there for 2 hours before I finally hung up. Still don't have a working phone.
on Wednesday sept. 17, 2014 my phone was deactivated (restricted they claim) I am unable to make/receive calls or texts.
I called and asked what the problem was got non answers and excuses (nothing new there) told I call to much and that they will not be replacing a defective replacement phone that they sent me ( get different answers each time I call as to status of the ticket)
2 1/2 weeks ago someone there deactivated my phone cause they felt like it, several complaints made non seemed to have been escalated as claimed they would be.
again there is no standards or accountability there just excuses and time wasted with them as nothing is ever there fault at all, as with any question asked good luck in getting it answered (minus the usual non answer or refusal) and help it seems is lucky if you find a nice person other wise wasting your time
they love to use the term "not cooperating" for excuse to blame the customer/user but yet that same standard never applies to them
so once again without my phone twice in less than a month
I added minutes to my phone on sept. 5th and had someone there al claim my days expired (uh sure) I have my card and reciet than he changed his tune to "oh must of been another number it was applied to" sure whatever you say al.
beyond ridiculous and absurd how they treat there customers
Tracfone customer service lacks complete understanding of what customer service is all about. Lost my previous phone and order new smart phone fwith 3x time rom Tracfone with 60 minute/90 day service card. Got phone and activated it online. Wanted to use old cell phone number so, call customer service. They were anything but of service. Got phone number changed and minutes and service date transferred. However, lost 60 minute I had already entered online. Could not make nor receive phone calls. Took 3 agents and a supervisor 5 days to resolve my calling issue. Could not get any help on why I lost my 60 minute/90 day service. Buying that online airtime was a waster of my money. This will be my last tracfone due to the bad service and support. Does anyone at Tracfone understand customer service or is customer service an game of how long will customer stay on phone with NO resolution?
Net 10/TracFone makes no attempt to resolve issues with their airtime minute cards. Every response is noted with "user agreement" says....
The issue I had was buying the wrong card for a smart phone $25 card). I guess the add minutes card is not valid for a smart phone and the only way to use the card I purchased was to get a different phone or sell the phone card in a back alley to another person. They made no attempt to credit the minutes or dollar amount to the phone in question. They make no effort to resolve problems and have an overall horrifying customer service department.
I bought a Galaxy Centra a month ago and I've been on the phone with tech support at least once a week since then, if not more. I've probably spent 6 hours talking to people, trying to get my phone working right. They would get it working, but mess up my data or minutes. Then I would call again. Then my phone wouldn't call or text again. Then I would call and they'd mess up my data and minutes again.
Every time I talked to someone they messed something else up.
THEN they changed my phone number, but messed up my minutes again! But they did FINALLY correct my data they had gotten wrong.
Basically it's been one f-up after another, and I couldn't get my number back.
Tracfone customer service is the absolute worst. I have been trying for three weeks to get a phone number ported to tracfone and it is still not completed. customer service keeps telling me to wait two more days, two more days, and now they have escalated it to 72 business hours . I have asked to speak with supervisors and managers but I'm sure they just pass me off to another customer service employees. Sometimes I get disconnected during the so called transfers.
It hard to understand why a multi million dollar company has such unprofessional poor quality customer service. They out source their good customers to a person in the Philippines who can't even speak clear nor understand English. Its rediculous that this company charges united state monies and is ablwe to get such cheep labor at the cost of food customer care. For this reason I do not trust my credit cards information kept in their data base. Buyers beware b c this is how u get robbed since the regulations may not apply in another country like it does herein the good United States. Too bad the company is so greedy that they use america to make the big dollars and then outsource the company customer service.
DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY. I have been using TracFones for 5-6 years now. I've upgraded phones 4 times, the last being their Galaxy Centura. This phone is a piece of garbage. At times the "touch screen" has such a lack of sensitivity that you have to press the icon multiple times to get it to open. Other times you're in one app, touch nothing, and it opens a screen and you have no idea what it is and have to use the back button. I decided to go back to my old TracFone. Two issues, you lose your minutes (I have 1291) and they tell me they will have to send me a new SIM card. If you have issues understanding accents, forget about trying to talk to Customer Service, there is no support in the United States.
TracFone customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with. One of two things is true: the customer service representatives don't understand English or they're completely incompetent. It seems as if the customer service representatives are intentionally trying to annoy the very customers they are supposed to be helping. I liken the experience to hitting a brick wall with the solution to the problem on the other side of the wall. Solutions are not difficult to come by, my experience has been that they are impossible.
After waiting for an hour and twenty minutes to speak with a manager, I was rudely cut off by the customer service representative. Moreover, the customer service representative with whom I worked to set up my new phone, did not even know how the phone actually functioned. I called back several times trying to resolve this issue. I finally spoke to a Luis (ID # 207), who told me he was the boss of the company. When I asked him to transfer me to Ms. Keva B., Manager Executive Resolution, Luis told me he could not do that. Furthermore, Luis said that, transferring the call to Ms. Keva B., Manager Executive Resolution, would actually be a downgrade of the problem resolution since Luis is the boss of the company (LOL). I suggest Tracfone develop a better problem resolution process since at the present moment, it is extraordinarily deficient.
Beware..Make sure you PRINT OUT what your current balance is prior to beginning any change on your TRACFONE account. You will need the record.
I ported my Verizon number over to my existing Tracfone...same phone, new number. But because the phone got a new number, all the paid for minutes were deleted by Tracfone.
It has taken 2.5 hours to get this fixed. And over 1 hour of that was on hold. I have been transferred 6 time. I have tried their online chat while waiting on hold - that was unrewarding. I have been "mistakenly" hung up on twice - and no, I was not being loud, vile or swearing - and in general given the run-around. The last three people I talked with, [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] did end up being helpful, but it was not easy. [redacted] tried to tell me to call back tomorrow - after 2 hours, that was not something I wanted to hear. So I got to talk to supervisor [redacted], who finally was able to help me.
TracFone customer service is one of the worse I have ever experienced. You can not get a phone number other than the main one, so if you get disconnected, you have to start all over. The messages that the reps told me were in the system did not seem to travel with the transfers, as each one had to start over.
The phone itself is good, the reception is good, but don't expect much from their customer service and don't expect it to be either quick or easy.
After losing time on my phone 1367 hours on my phone, because according to Tracfone my time had expired and the phone deactivated. Yet the phone itself stated the time on the phone was good till 4-3-15. Called customer service talked to a customer service person and a supervisor neither of them could help with the lost1367 hours. Very upset.
I bought a basic phone from the company and it did not work. After spending almost 30 minutes on the phone with them, they determined they couldn't fix it and would send a new phone. The problem was it would take 7-10 buisness days. I mentioned that would not be acceptable becasue it was for an elderly person who can't be without a phone for that long. They told me they couldn't do anything and I would either have to deal with the time or just buy a new phone. In other words they do not care how much of an inconvience it is deal with it or buy a new phone in store. Spent over an hour on the phone in total and had two call backs just to get through the atempted problem solving to find out they couldn't do anything to "fix" the brand new phone. Also you have to talk to a supervisor if you want to transfer your minutes from one tracfone to another, lower level workers refuse to do this when asked. Would advise anyone not to use this company.
Very Poor Customer Service: The telephone number to my tracfone has apparently been "re-assigned"! This happened within 8 hours after the expiration of the service days for my phone. I have had this tracfone and phone number for 11 years! I have always used the pay-as-you-go and have regularly purchased 90 days of service time. I find this change to my number unfair, beyond inconvenient and suspicious at best.
The problem started today when I tried to buy my usual 90 days/60 minutes of airtime/service - eight hours after the expiration of my service time on 02-21-2014. I still had 1,754.5 units on the phone.
After entering my c card info, your web site indicated a error and that the "order could not be processed at this time- please try again later". When I tried to re-do the transaction online, I continued to get an error that kept looping me back to the "step 1" page of the activation process and would not allow me to go any further.
After several calls to reach someone with Tracfone support and being shuffled around on your automated phone system, I was finally able to reach someone in India. The person I reached was not at all helpful and told me I was basically out of luck and that I had lost my phone number of 11 years - just 8 hours after the expiration of my service time! After the first person I spoke with could not correct the problem, I spoke to a "supervisor" who also could not correct the problem and transferred me to the "manager". The manager could not fix the problem and even had trouble with not being able to log-in to her own computer!. She ended up having to use a different computer. I spent well OVER 3 hours on the phone with Tracfone support and was still told that I could not keep my original phone number and the phone could not be activated. I was given a ticket number and told that I should receive a call within "72 hours". I was also told that if I missed their follow-up call, I was to contact them via a toll call at XXX-XXX-XXXX. Since I have spent OVER THREE HOURS on the initial trouble call, I am very reluctant to call them back at a toll call number.
I am very troubled by this incident. I have a second Tracfone that I commonly purchase service days for every 90 days. I have often gone for several days, even weeks after the expiration of the service days without loosing my telephone number. Why is this?
I used to tell everyone that I liked my Tracphone and had never had any problems. Rest assured that I will no longer be giving this endorsement and will freely share my extreme displeasure and horrible experience. Is this how you treat your long-term customers?
