WARNING: If your are considering buying a new or used vehicle, do NOT patronize Transit Town Dodge....the sales people are truly unknowledgeable as well as the pieces of crap in the service area. I took my vehicle in for a recall on the high-pressure power steering hose. The vehicle sat untouched for over a week because the incompetent fools in the service dept. never ordered the part when promised. When I finally got the car back, the hood was improperly closed because the mns forgot to put the air cleaner housing back properly. On my way home, the car began running very poorly and wanted to stall (the "service" light came on).....I had no choice to take it home because it was later on a Saturday afternoon. Upon getting it home, I checked it with the OBDII scanner and it was a code for the EGR. I then discovered that the piece of crap mechanic never hooked the EGR system back up (wires & lines were left unplugged & un-mounted). The next day I discovered a puddle under the car and found that while they were installing the high-pressure hose, they broke one of the small metal lines on the rack & pinion. On that Monday, I called Transit Town and they had me bring it back to them. They put it on the lift and then told me that the mechanic who did the work didn't break the line. They absolutely did break it as it was right near where the other line connected (probably a wrench hit it while removing the old hose). So, they said I could spend about $1300 to have a new rack & pinion installed or I was out of luck. So I left with a car that was worse than when it was brought in in the first place. The parts manager & the service manager were actually very rude. I will NEVER do business with them ever again and will do my best to educate people about never doing business with them either. I even called back the [redacted] Hotline and explained to them what happened. They tried to get a hold of Transit Town and they refused to answer their questions. The recall center told me that they would be black-listed in their dealer books. Bottom line is I was screwed over and I didn't enjoy it. I also know of some people who bought cars from them over the years and had lots of other problems with them. Unfortunately for me, it was too late when I found this out. Don't make the same mistakes....Stay away from them.....they are crooks!!!
P.S.--I would recommend staying away from all the Transit Town dealers as I have since heard that they pretty much function the same way. Customer service is non-existent. They scam & cheat their customers anyway they can!!! There are a lot of complaints arising from the Transit Town dealerships!

ID [redacted]Dear [redacted];
[redacted] vehicle was purchased 5/21/2015. At the time of purchase the vehicle had 80,768 miles and is covered under New York State Law for 30 days or 1,000 miles.
The failure of the part was more than 4 months later and over...

4,000 miles. It is unfortunate that the vehicle component failed, but it was not from neglect of Transitowne, but more than likely unfortunate circumstance. There are no prior concerns regarding the vehicle's differential and is simply a component failure. We offer all of our customers extended service contracts, but in this particular case due to limitations on her loan, her only option was to pay for the warranty separately. At this place in time the vehicle repairs are the owner responsibility. Any lost wages or travel expenses are her responsibility even in the event she had a service contract on the vehicle.
In a gesture of good will, Transitowne will pay $300 towards the repair once receipts are sent to our Used Vehicle Manager [redacted]. Transitowne cannot repair the vehicle out of warranty with the risk of an implied warranty.
Sincerely;[redacted]Vice PresidentTransitowne Automotive

Mrs. [redacted] is satisfied and happy. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

After a lengthy conversation with the owner of this vehicle, this matter is settled.  It seems there was a lack of trust with us, since this was her 1st time having service work done here.  She was out of town, and surprised the vehicle had a torn wiper blade.  After finally authorizing the replacement of wiper blades, she asked to save the old part.  The technician working on the vehicle had forgotten to leave them in the car.  This is where the loss of trust happened.  I apologized to our customer and this case is settled.
Yours truly,

The claim from the business Transitown is not correct. They provided me with the tires because they were in bad shape and the car was making a noise. The same day of the purchase, the manager drove the care and agreed. In fact, when I took the car the tire place they sent me, they also agreed that the tires were very bad, and I am talking about a car "inspected". I told the manager that legally, those tires would not pass any NY State inspection and that's why the agree to replace the tires. I never agreed to exchange the tires for the dent repair. Those are two separate issues. I have a receipt from them stating that they agree to repair it. In my second trip to the business another manager made a copy to follow up and stated that they will contact me and they never did. They keep saying the same thing again, that they will contact me and they won't.
I want to get this resolve but they should not offer things that they won't honor just to sell a car.

Sincerely,

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] at Transitowne and he stated that he is willing to fix the back up sensor and waive the $100.00 deductible.  The consumer states that the car was priced more than advertised.  The car was sold to her for $17,900.00 and with taxes and DMV fees the final cost...

was $19,510.00 and she also owed from a previous loan which was added on to her new loan bringing the loan amount to just over $21,000.00.The vehicle was purchased in November, and if the customer would have contacted me, I would have assisted her sooner.

We have resolved the matter in question with Mr [redacted]. We have extended his lease terms at his request and this made him happy and satisfied.
Thank You,

If what they are saying is true then why did they fire their salesman? He was just part of a much bigger problem.
Their statement that the financing was explained to us accurately is a total and complete lie! Over and over again we were told by the salesman and the finance manager we had numerous institutions from which to choose from regarding our financing options. Again not true. The sales manager was totally useless and should have addressed this when it blew up on them in the show room. As far as we are concerned they are completely fraudulent in their business practices and even after all this was exposed they are unable to admit fault. We also found out we were one of the "lucky" customers charged $65 for a tank of gas. The Attorney General of NY has fined them for this and they are allegedly sending refunds to everybody they took advantage of with this.

For the Revdex.com to still have this business receiving a positive rating is not right. They will be waiting for their next victim to take advantage of and screw out of their hard earned money as well.

I am writing the letter In response to a complaint filed with your office on 10/22/2015 Involving our customer [redacted] ID# [redacted]. I have spoken to [redacted] and she and I have come to a compromise. I gave her the option of my...

cost on the chip guards that she wants for the vehicle and I have let her know of the cost of $500.00 to have this done. [redacted] when purchasing this vehicle had also noticed a cosmetic repair around the wheel wells of the truck and Transitowne will be fixing that for her as she and Transitowne agreed to do this at the time of sale. The truck that was purchased had a little over 90000 miles and was 5 plus years old, the damage that the truck has Incurred Is not due to neglect or misrepresentation but to normal wear and tear and this was agreed upon by the customer. The customer has agreed to pay for the chip guard and will be setting up and appointment with [redacted] the vendor that will perform the repair for her. If you have any further questions and concerns please contact me Immediately for explanation.Sincerly,[redacted]General Sales ManagerTransitowne Resale of Amherst

[redacted] My loan payment is STILL at the $459.95 a month instead of dropping by half after 6 months as promised. They obviously did not read my entire original complaint. Transitowne has NOT made any attempts to contact myself or my mother to resolve this complaint. The only contact I ever got was two emails after I submitted a credit application that was rejected. At NO POINT EVER did I mention trading my car back in or acquiring a new one from them. I want this loan paid in full by the dealership and a clean title sent to my address. In no way, shape or form does a $12,000 car end up costing the purchaser over $27,000, especially since no vehicle was traded in towards this purchase. I am strongly considering legal action.

Dear [redacted],
The complaint received from [redacted] has been resolved.
Chrysler has authorized the extra rental days that occurred due to delays and damage parts which were
out of the control of the customer. A request was placed...

prior to the complaint and a check will be sent
directly to the customer from Chrysler. After speaking to the customer on Friday, 2/14 Transitowne will
credit the credit card for the fluid flush of $123.57.
While the vehicle was not purchased at Transitowne, I encouraged the customer to continue to do
business at our service department and that the engine failure was a rare occurrence on a Liberty and
we will continue to value her business in the future.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
