FRAUD: Billing cycle changes without setting customers expectations MMS Feature not working and Company refuses to repair...

Originally my account started on 9/25/2018 with my first call made.. Number was ported over on 10/04/2018 and my account started over as well as my minutes and data packages, WITHOUT informing me or setting my expectations on this... With this my Picture messaging did not and does not work and when trying to figure out what is at issue, i.e. diagnosing I used all my data, not on video or browsing just trying to get my picture messaging (MMS) to work... Assurance Wireless refuses to take ownership of this issue and take the correct steps in resolving my 2 major issues 1) having my Picture messaging to work and re-adding data to my account without me waiting for the bringing of the cycle which should have been 10/25/2018 but since I was not informed or expectations met, it is now November 4th.. This is a clear fraudulent act in having me purchase more data $5 for 500mb or $10 for 1GB... This is not a prudent way to conduct business and should be investigated...

Desired Outcome

Restoration of my Data service, If contacted after 11/04/2018 adding 1GB of data to my account Making sure my picture messaging is working properly with all data used in diagnosing re-added

RE: Failure to service stolen/replacement White iPhone 5c 16 GB

To Whom It May Concern:

After purchasing a new (Refurbished) White iPhone 5c 16GB from TruConnect it was stolen and destroyed late Wednesday, August 1, 2018 while traveling East on the L.A. Metro Rapid 733 on Venice Blvd. & Main Street (S.E. Corner) sometime at or after 11:00 P.M. The next day I called TruConnect with the intention of purchasing a replacement iPhone 5c 16GB (white). Unfortunately, despite informing them that I had been attacked, robbed, and having the white iPhone 5C 16GB completely beyond repair they informed me they had no iPhone 5cs in stock and didn't expect to have any more any time soon.

I actually called TruConnect twice that day to make sure I was not again being given inaccurate information from a TruConnect Agent.

I then shopped for and purchased another white iPhone 5c 16 GB for $88 from Amazon.com. After I received the replacement iPhone 5c 16 GB I then contacted TruConnect and asked them to activate the iPhone. Even after I reminded them I had been the victum of a crime; which I reported with L.A.P.D.'s Pacific Division, and the stolen iPhone had been recovered and was totaled TruConnect kept insisting they could NOT activate the iPhone 5c I purchased because it was not part of their inventory. I asked TruConnect if I had purchased the identical white iPhone 5c 16GB from TruConnect would they be able to activate it? They said yes!

Today, Saturday August 11, 2018 I again called TruConnect and again spoke to ***. The first time I spoke to ***; a supervisor, he told me activating the iPhone I purchased from Amazon.com would be like buying a new car from a dealership, buying its replacement from a used car dealership, then asking the new car dealership to honor the warranty. Today *** encouraged me to return the white iPhone 5c 16GB back to Amazon.com.

When I reminded *** the first time I purchased the white iPhone 5c 16GB from TruConnect they gave me the wrong tracking number. When the tracking number showed the phone had been delivered to Rochland,CA; 400 miles away from my L.A. Address TruConnect always repeated every time I called, the kept telling me they had done their part and I needed to pick up the phone from Rochland, CA. when I told them it was 400 miles away TruConnect asked me if I had any family or friends who could pick up the phone from me. Every time I mentioned this to *** he referred to it as, 'past history.' I eventually received the white iPhone 5c 16GB at my L.A. Address so I have both tracking numbers.

It's Standard Operating Procedure when a business doesn't have an identical product; or something very similar, to replace a stolen product, you are then allowed to purchase the replacement from a 3rd party.

Since I have been a TruConnect customer; for well over a year, this is the type of incompetent customer service I keep getting from them and it needs to stop.

The Serial # of the new white iPhone 5c 16 GB I purchased from
Amazon.com is: ***,

IMEI #: XX XXXXXXXXXXXX X,,
MEID or P #: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX,

ICCID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

Oh, and my telephone # is: (XXX)-XXX-XXXX. I just want the replacement white iPhone 5C 16 GB activated by TruConnect and I want the (XXX)-XXX-XXXX number transferred to it.

Sincerely,

*** F.

The customer service reps do not know what they are doing. Again my voicemail is out of the blue turned off and my messages disappears. I explain to them in detail what has happened and they proceed to do the same exact thing after I told them what would happen. I started a chat with one rep and they turned my service off completely. When I ask to speak to a manger they told me I couldn't and that I should factory reset my phone? What? Why would I want to erase everything off my phone? Not the smartest people working there.

Haven't been able to get phone service all week and now they say it may take 2 more days.
I have been trying to get phone service but nobody seems to be able to help. I would like to send this free government phone back, postage paid for,cus I can't afford, if they can't fix soon. They say everything is fine on their end but not mine. I have tried contacting them 11 times, using my daughter's phone, and online chat, and everytime they say to turn phone off, take battery, and sim card out, wait a min., and put back in. Nothing is working so someone escalated this yesterday. making a ticket to help me, and now they say it may take another 2 days to get help! They ported my number from another company on Monday and I have not had a working phone since. I'm sorry I didn't read all the terrible reviews for this company before applying for the free government phone. I appreciate the free phone, and service (if ever gets to working) very much, but seems like none of the customer care people really do care, or know what they're doing. I don't think there was one English speaking person, and either couldn't understand me, or I couldn't understand them well. It's very hard for me to breathe and talk with severe Emphysema so my daughter had to talk for me one time. May GOD give me much patience and help us all. Revelation 14:7

Desired Outcome

If Truconnect is unable to get my phone working soon, please have them send me a prepaid shipping label to return phone. I don't think I can go through this process again with them, if they send another phone and sim card,it's been so stressful, and my health is not good trying to keep explaining, when they can't understand, or help, so will apply at a different Lifeline company.

TruConnect Response • Jul 18, 2018

TruConnect Customer Care has worked with Ms. to help activate her service and port her number to our company. As part of the port in process, we sent a replacement SIM card which she needed to place in her phone. We contacted Ms. to help trouble shoot and responded to all requests for assistance. Due to the issues she has experienced activating her phone, we will be sending a prepaid shipping label via email she can use to return her device. We will review the device and ensure the device is sent back to her in working condition or if necessary, send a working replacement.

I purchased a Hotspot unit and 1GB of data from TrueConnect "Internet on the go" in June of 2017, I was happy with the performance and ease of adding data, but I was unable to add data in May of 2018, I called them and was advised that my plan was no longer available, the only comparable plan available to switch to no longer offers "forever data", instead the data expires every month. As far as I am concerned this was a case of "Bait & Switch"! I filed a complaint with the FCC but it is likely that somewhere in the fine print it states that they can do whatever they want whenever they want.

Mike, we apologize for the the experience. We updated our data policy for new data purchases. If you were on a previous plan, you can continue to purchase data with our new plans. Please visit our website https://www.internet-go.com/ for information on our current data policies.
