My husband and I are in the market for replacing windows. We contacted True View for a quote and they came out to measure the windows. We requested measurement for our upstairs windows that had been damaged due to condensation. They took the measurements and then notified us with the cost. At that time, they also said they would have to go back out to measure the arch as they didn’t get the measurement on that day. We scheduled another time for them to come out. The technician that came out looked at how tall our two story was and although had a ladder, opted out of using the ladder because he said it was too much work and that he could just go through the window. I waited downstairs for him for what I thought would not take the amount of time that it did. I heard a loud sound but didn’t think anything of it. He came downstairs when he finished and let me know that he only needed to measure one of the arches because they were the same and that they were an even arch so they would be easy to replace. I said okay and thank you. I left right after him to go back to work to notice crack in the arched window that he measured as I drove off. The technician never said anything. My husband called True View and told them and they requested photos. I took photos and sent it to them. They never responded. We reached out again and left a message. A lady called me back telling me that they could offer 15% off of the window since we were already replacing it. I told her that was unacceptable because the arched window had no damage. I also told her that if I call for a technician to measure windows, I don’t expect windows to be broken. I requested the window be replaced, especially, since the arch windows weren’t damaged by the condensation and really didn’t have to be replaced. She said, “I’m not going to give you a free window just because our tech broke your window”. This is not good customer service. To have to pay for a businesses mistake is unacceptable
To Whom it May Concern:
We originally went to the customers home on September 22nd 2017, we measured for 5 windows one being an arch. I have attached the quote for reference. As you can see it states upon approval will need to make a template of the arched window in order to place the order for the glass. We called her on 09/25/18 and she said she would review the quote and get back to us. She called in 09/27/18 and approved the quote she also stated she would pay the 50% and set a new date to do the re-measure. This meant we had to schedule a 2nd appointment to remove that arch and get a true measurement. When we called her back to schedule she also stated she wanted to add additional windows another window being an arch, again we would have to remove the glass and get true measurement. When making templates there is a 99% chance of the glass breaking upon doing so but we already received approval when she scheduled the appointment. At this time we now have made 2 trips to the home and this is additional man hours and labor. That afternoon a *** called in and said that there was a crack in the window. We tried to explain that there is a possibility of this happening but since they already approved the order and just need to pay the 50% to get it started that we can get back out and replace the glass right away. He was upset and he wasn’t understanding, he hung up. We tried calling several time after that and tried reaching out to Chavon the person who originally called in the order and even offered them 15% off due to their frustration. On 11/21 she finally got back to us and said that she would like for us to resolve the issue. We again explained that we cannot take responsibility of the glass breaking because she had already agreed to use our services and place the deposit. We still honored our 15% discount, she then hung up and we never heard back.
