I am rejecting this response because:  I paid $125 to this business without my informed consent as I believed I was renewing my business name directly with Alameda County.  The completed paperwork they mailed me was the form that is used at the Alameda County Recorder's office and I didn't know that 3rd parties had access to my information and would be sending solicitations to do this service for me.  I live only a few miles from the County Recorder's office and would have happily completed this paperwork on my own, had I received the reminder from the county and known that these forms were from a private company.  Nowhere on the paperwork did it say that this was a solicitation and that I would be able to renew on my own if I chose do and had 3 months to do so.  In fact, their misleading paperwork said that I would need to send in their forms "no later than 3/31/18 to  ensure time for processing to avoid cancellation of your fictitious business name".  That of course, is not true.  Had I not completed their forms, I would have still had 3 months to renew my business name without fear of cancellation.  And there is no reason it this business should need 3 months to send paperwork from Sacramento to Alameda County.  $125 less the $40 filing fee is not $65, it is $85 which is the least that this company should be refunding me.  However, given that I didn't intend to use a 3rd party service and was misled by their unethical adversing and business practices, I want a refund in the full amount of $125.  Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:while this prevents me alone from this contacti in the future the way the communication letter is presented needs to change. It is easily construed...

as a bill and that the company will provide all services to keep a company in compliance by submitting the $150 fee and that in reality may not be the case at all.this is misleading in its content and requires several reads to truly understand  My concern is  other companies may comply with this very misleading bill as it does not detail what service it is truly provided at all but infers it will handle most all ficuticious compliance.

addressed.  The solicitation being performed is misleading.  The form appears to come from an official agency.  I believe the company needs to take steps to insure that the form is clearly designated as an advertisement from a non-governmental company.  That would likely best be accomplished by having something to that effect on the outside of the mailing envelope.As far as my complaint, it is fine to resolve this issue, but it does nothing to solve the underlying problem.
