January 22, 2018Revdex.comBryant Woods SouthAmherst, NY 14228Dear Revdex.com:We are in receipt of your letter forwarding the complaint of *** *** The complaint is regarding a motor vehicle accident that occurred on December 20, Our. insured,
*** *** struck an animal and submitted a claim for damages to her *** *** ***Ms*** is not happy with the progression of her claim.Ms*** was contacted on December 21, to confirm that facts of the loss at which time she advised the handling adjuster that her vehicle was drivable, and she had already obtained an estimate from *** *** ***On the same date, the handling adjuster spoke to the insured's shop of choice to ascertain the amount of damages and assigned an appraiser to complete a desk review and reach an agreed price with *** *** ***.The review team attempted to contact *** *** *** on Friday December 22, but was unable to speak to someone, and left a detailed message for a callback. Our office was closed for business due to the Christmas holiday on Monday December 25, On December 27, Ms*** contacted Utica inquiring about the status of the claimShe was advised that the appraiser attempted to contact her shop of choice on December but they had not heard back from themAt that time, a follow up message was sent to the Independent appraiser to contact the shop, as soon as possibleThe appraiser spoke to the shop on December 27th and obtained the estimate. An agreed price was ultimately reached with *** *** *** on January 2, This was communicated to Ms*** and the payment was issued to her on January 3, 2017. It would seem some, if not all, of the delay in settlement can be attributed to the holiday week and the ability of the parties involved to connect to reach an agreed priceOnce this was completed, the payment was issued on January 3rd, and Ms*** was provided a rental vehicle for the time of repairsTo date the repairs have not been completed as Ms***' shop of choice is waiting for parts for the *** *** *** The rental vehicle has been extended through this time.Should you have any additional questions related to this matter, please do not hesitate tocontact me .Sincerely,Sonia K***Thank you,Sonia K***

I had an old barn on my property which Utica National insured as an "other structure" in my policy They sent an agent out to inspect my property prior to issuing the policy who examined my home and property On 3/12/we had a snow storm which collapsed my barn from the weight of the snow I submitted my claim, which it took this "company" three months to send out an inspector (I just wanted Utica to come out and clean it up - easy breezy, right?) and was subsequently denied (within two weeks mind you) because in their illustrious words "it would have come down in time" Does that make sense? EVERYTHING comes down in time They also did not take pictures of the barn when their inspector came out instead they used a Google Earth shot from to say the barn was not in good condition To summarize, I retained an attorney who confirmed my feelings that Utica took my premium money, insured the barn as a structure on my property but did not do their DUE DILIGENCE - their agent messed up by not taking a picture of the barn when she first came to my home but yet Utica still insured a structure on my property Utica has been VERY uncooperative and their delightful director of property claims (when she's in the office and not taking a day off) has now made the decision not to communicate with either myself or my attorney unless it's in writing - I specifically asked the delightful lady what she was afraid of Anyway, I am suing the company and am dealing directly with the Insurance Commissioner of the State of CT - who, by the way, was way too familiar with this company - not good Pressure is on and I told the delightful director of property claims' Regional VP that I am not going away They will resolve this issue one way or the other without dragging it out hoping I will go away As soon as I find out how many lawsuits (of which there are MANY) have been filed against Utica and the claim payment ratio - I will come back here and update the people who have complaints against this very small company - seems they take your premium, pay their limited employees and hope for the best Not today Utica Today you have pushed me too far - attorney, check! Revdex.com, check! Insurance Commissioner, check! Private investigator, check! Good luck people and stay far, far, away from this very limited insurance company Keep an eye out because I am seriously considering contacting our local news station to do a piece on it and also I have a friend who conducts a podcast on an am station and she has offered me to come and discuss my situation with people to call in I'll keep you posted P.SI have to rate this with the star rating by the Revdex.com and I had to choose one star - I would have preferred no stars!

I was in an accident with a Utica insured driver 4/15/2018, Property Paving Inc, Claim #*** To date, I have not been reimbursed for my vehicle repairs, although I have received a letter stating monies have been mailed On 6/after informing the injury claim specialist I was not going to close my injury claim until my property claim was settled, I encountered an argumentative employee Adam P***, who refuesed to transfer me to a supervisor and hung up on me
I filed a complaint with the Fexas Department of Insurance 6/13/2018, but there has been no response from Utica Insurance on settling my claim The lack of response from Utica and clearly unprofessional behavior of Adam P*** in refusing to forward my concerns to Utica Management is unacceptable Utica should be investigated for its practices that cant be considered lawful in any state and should be forced to have management return my call and resolve this matter as I will not deal with the rude and insulting be

My husband and I have been with Utica National Insurance Group for our home, auto and umbrella insurance policy for approximately years; during which time we have experienced multiple and frequent billing issues (many of which required multiple phone calls to resolve)As of November 2017, we maintained only an auto policy; having canceled both the homeowners and umbrella in October after moving to a new houseAfter receiving our November 2017-November auto policy bill, we sent a check for $which was the “net premium if paid in full” amount versus the $total premium (see attached personal check)On April 13th, 2018, we unexpectedly received another bill which indicated our current policy balance was $When our agent (*** *** * *** *** Inc of Middletown) contacted Utica, they were unable to explain the bill and we were told to ignore their mistakeIn the meantime, our agent researched another insurance company which offered an auto po

Worst insurance company to dealNever answer and take their time responding to your voice mailsDon’t send workers comp checks on timeShouldn’t even be able to call themselves a business

They are the worst...Please contact *** lawfirm to hopefully get a class action suit against them They have ruined my life and do not respond, they hide under other company names like *** there is no way they should be allowed to do business

I paid off my balance of my premium online when I got my taxes back in February when I went to renew my insurance online it said I had to pay $to get started I was confused because my monthly payments was only $I called and was transferred several times until I got to Linda she told me that they canceled my policy on 7/for non payment of $for an accident prevention course I was confused because I already paid off the balance so I asked how much she said I would have to sign a no loss clause and they would reinstate I had an interview when I got out I called back and asked Linda if she could email me the loss clause Paper she hung up on me without asking for my email address and called back minutes later and said I had claims and they will not renew my insurance I do all my finances online if my policy renewal date is today and I paid off my past premium how can I be held accountable for a mechanical breakdown

I am going through Utica for a motor vehicle accident claimTheir client hit my car while it was sitting still at a red light, and the driver had an expired licenseThey estimated damage and agreed to pay the body shop for itThe body shop completed repairs, but now Utica is not responding and refuses to pay the claimThey will not even call back or answer emailsMy car is finished, but needs to be put in storage, because they will not comply

We left Utica National days into our renewed policy periodA payment for $1,was made on February 6, I cancelled our policy on February 10, My refund was issued for $519, rather than $1,(pro rata)According to my policy docs, I would either be refunded "pro rata" - $for days of coverage - or "less than pro rata." No where, on any document, was a "short rate penalty" of $mentionedThis company is taking advantage of consumersThey do not have the documentation to back up their claim, nor did we sign any agreement to thisThey are refusing to refund us what we are due

Wellwhat should I saySTAY AWAY FROM THIS INSURANCE COMPANY!! Here's what happened to meI was parked at work doing my thing, working hardA co-worked calls me out in the parking lot to show me that my car( which I had place on the road the week before) had been crushed by a pretty large tree limbSo, I do the right thing, get a police report filed, contact management company which puts me in touch with the insurance ( enter Utica National) and get an estimate on repairThe Rep which I would identify with a first initial Srarely returned phone calls, only after repeated emails and VM's back and forth, leaves me hanging for almost weeks!! I had asked repeteadly to be put in touch with a supervisor but nadaThey said they were going to send out someone to look at vehiclethat never happenedthey said they were going to "investigate" and secure witnesses"It' s a damn tree limb that fell on the car, what more do you need to investigate right!! I sent in a notarized statement and they secured a recorded statement, sent in pictures from every which angle....still no answer....Now I decide to get a little nasty...Finally the calls are returned, but guess what?? their "investigation" surprise surprise concludes with a big fat "oooooopps , we are not liable for the damage"!!! It gets better......the tree had subsequently been removed, and now what would have been my "evidence" of the establishment failing to maintain the tree properly and the management being negligent in properly maintaining the tree, has been destroyed!! So a big fat " warning" goes out to everyone considering to do business with this company!!I would run if I were youNow I have to hire a lawyer, put in a complaint with Revdex.com and NYS attorney general.....thanks but no thanks!!!

Utica National Insurance Group is a disreputable companyI have payed my Homeowner's Insurance premium on time for years and when I had damage to my pool they denied the claimAn engineer documented three years of drought in my area (so there was no ground water or the possibility of natural flooding), that the pool sits on a hill, and identified the broken pipe which caused the damagedHowever, the company refused to pay the claim because of a clause in the contract (unbeknownst to me) that deems ANY water, even water from a broken pipe as ground water and not coveredThe company offered to pay us 2,for 60k damageDishonestDo not buy insurance from this company!

I have called this company and cancel my policy over the phone more then three times and they still sending me a bill I have a credit of dollar that I never use that I want back .policy number ***

On 12/20/my car was involved in and accidentI made all the required phone calls in a very prompt mannerI ended up needing a rental car and it took for me to call my agent at *** *** *** in Little Falls NY to get something to happen with the claim, the rental car and the check which was finally mailed out on 1/13/My car is still sitting in the shop to date due to the lack of professionalism from this insurance companyI am very upset that it has taken this long and still don’t have my car backI have spoken with a manager on numerous occasions and the claims agent that was assigned to me was absolutely useless in this whole processIt should not take more than weeks from accident to back on the roadThis has caused much unanticipated stress on meI am considering dropping this policy and writing with a much more professional company that can handle claims in a prompt manner
