I do want to note that while working with the Vanguard representative who reached out to me, there was no way to avoid the fees as I did not have an option to electronically re-opt in for e-delivery. Vanguard's communication to clients was unclear and misguided. I only accept the response to put this behind and plan to transfer my remaining assets with the company to a more reputable and responsible company.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the Revdex.com in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have contacted Vanguard requesting that form 5498 be sent to the IRS with the corrected information for the year 2013.  The only matter in dispute at this point with Vanguard is the date on the form 5498 to the IRS. This form should correctly state 2013 and not 2014. I am including my redacted IRS 1099 for 2013 showing me legally taking this as an IRA contribution. I have enclosed a copy of this with this letter as Exhibit A.      Vanguard has acknowledged that a mistake was made and the amount paid April 15, 2014, was a direct contribution not a rollover as Vanguard's records currently show. Vanguard has indicated that if earlier this year I had requested the form by a certain date, they would have put the correct date of 2013 on the form. The IRS allows IRA contributions for the prior year up until April 16 of the following year and is clearly documented in Exhibit A as my intention to do so. The IRS sent a letter informing me after Vanguard's internal date and Vanguard is no longer willing to rectify the error with the proper date of 2013 but insisted the I should accept the wrong date of 2014 as the tax year. I am unwilling to accept this erroneous solution to an error that clearly compounds itself when Vanguard has already acknowledged a mistake was made. Due to my age, I do not qualify to make a contribution in 2014 to IRA account and it has never been my intention to do so. I cannot compound this mistake further with the date Vanguard is insisting on.    I deny that the mistake was made in my filling out the contribution request but was computer error on Vanguard's part.  I am further convinced the error is theirs as I am unable recreate the translation in order to make this "mistake". Also, not only I am not able to recreate the transaction, an [redacted] -ETF- Vanguard rollover, all computer systems have treated all inquiries , phone or otherwise, as if my account is still a 401(k) plan. This is clearly an internal Vanguard computer error that are Vanguards is unwilling to acknowledge or remedy.  The amount was to be applied to the 2013 taxes which were made on that date. The IRS states they did not receive the Vanguard form. Vanguard has indicated it is willing to release a corrected form 5498 fixing the roll over error but will not list the correct date of 2013. I did not make this claim in 2014 and at which time I wasn't even eligible to make a contribution due to my age. Everything filed in 2013 is correct regarding my tax information. The Vanguard paperwork needs to be corrected and sent to the IRS.

Vanguard is very slow when it comes to paperwork. I got emailing about Vanguard's new--1.5 years--financial planners so I called but I was totally turned off when I asked the phone rep for what the Vanguard financial planner would tell me in 3 phone calls to be in writing. He then told me that if that is what I need, a Vanguard financial planner is not for me. I filled out an online profile but then I cancelled it after talking to other Vanguard investors about the awful way I was treated on the phone.
I mean, let's not forget that this is what Vanguard's mission is in the first place; to make clients money; Vanguard's alleged 3, 45-minute financial planner's advice sessions should be in writing, period. What, Vanguard doesn't want responsibility after charging me 1% which is $3,000 for the year plus other expenses; then what am I getting for my financial planner money?
Let's not forget the Great 2009 Recession.
Vanguard can do better; what is the problem with the new CEO that he cannot understand what happened to hard-working investors like myself with the 2009 Great Recession and retirement?
Why are kindergartners put on as phone reps in a sensistive area such as financial planners?
I am considering moving my investments to Fidelity where they talk to you like a human being and give you respect on the phone. Vanguard's new style is not good.
