Viking Bags Reviews (%countItem)

I originally placed my order for the large warrior saddlebags back on July 5th. On July 14th I used the online chat messenger to talk with Bobby about the status of my order since online it showed "awaiting fulfillment. Bobby assured me that they would ship that day. I waited a few more days and my order still showed "awaiting fulfillment." I then attempted to contact viking bags by phone and of course no one picked up. I left a message and no one bothered to return my call. On August 1st I used the online chat messenger again since this seemed to be the only way to talk with anyone and this time I got a hold of Alex. This was a Saturday and Alex told me that he could get my order sent out on Monday. Monday August 3rd rolls around and at the end of the day my order is still "awaiting fulfillment." The next day August 4th, I get to chat with Celeste through the online messenger and she lets me know that my order can not be fulfilled and that all they can do is just return my money. After holding on to my $200 for a month all this company can muster is barely a sorry and here's your money back. No attempt to look at other products and see if we could substitute a different style saddlebag to fulfill the order or even an upgrade at a discounted price to accommodate a frustrated customer. The customer service this company provides is going to drive this company into the ground. Don't waste your time or money on this pathetic excuse of a company.

Very Poor service. Was sent incorrect saddlebags for my motorcycle twice and then could not get customer service to respond to multiple emails via their website Return Form. Tried calling office multiple times and no one answered.

Good bags come with free mounting hardware as well. I would recommend them.

Potential buyers, please be aware that this is a scam business. The only mechanism that works is the Online Order. Once they got your money, they will never answer any phone calls or any chat inquiries. They have programmed chat process that it looks you are progressing in chat from place 6 to place 1 in queue. Once you reach place 1 in queue, you will wait forever and no one will answer your chat. I’ve lost several hours trying to reach Customer Service personnel to change / upgrade my original order. This is the absolutely WORST online experience in my whole life. Someone, please do something legal to these SCAMMERS!

On May 23rd, I ordered a pair of saddle bags for my 2003 *** motorcycle from Viking Bags. The product I ordered was listed as "*** Series Extra Large Plain Motorcycle Saddlebags." The make and model of my motorcycle are in the description and the product listing states that it will fit my motorcycle. When the product arrived, they did not fit my bike. I contacted customer service and they acknowledged that the website was misleading and said that for my bike I would need to purchase a different style of bags that are $200 more expensive. I submitted a return request and send the misfitting bags back to the company, which cost me $110. I have reached out twice requesting a refund of the shipping since the product was misrepresented on the company's website, but have not received a response.

"Bought a set of Viking Lamellar Extra Large hard bags for my 2010 ***. After owning these bags for nearly a year I finally installed these about a month ago. These bags are advertised as being specific for my bike, but there is an area in the entire bottom inside horizontal edge for an exhaust pipe clearance which doesn't apply to my bike. They're nowhere near the stock exhaust pipes leading to a fairly large amount of lost storage space. Also the mounting hardware supplied also required me making a longer inside plate for the bottom mounting struts and in no way install the way their videos and instructions show. I was able to make a new plate and change the positioning of the struts to make them work. But my biggest issue is that yesterday (by my own fault) I was backing my bike out and bumped into a metal object with a square but not sharp corner. When I got off and looked at it I was blown away by the large tear in the FABRIC covering the bag about the thickness of 20# copier paper. I emailed the company over their false and misleading advertising them as being leather covered. After correspondence with their on-line rep I was told I'd receive a phone call shortly. I received a phone call from a pleasant rep named Alex with no real apparent knowledge of the product but he seemed sincere in helping me resolve my concern. After a being on hold for a few minutes and he came back to inform me that the bags are covered with MAN MADE LEATHER. I told him your that's not how your company advertises them. Finally he said he would talk to a supervisor and after a ten plus minute wait he came back and said his supervisor recommended I should take them to a upholstery or leather repair shop and maybe they could help me. ***!!! So there's my spiel and it's 100% true. Beware of what they're advertising and what your receiving. If it's advertised leather it should be leather not MAN MADE LEATHER!"

Horrible customer service. Would not allow me to return items when they would not fit my bike. Very rude personnel. I would never recommend to my worst enemy to do business with this company.

The direction and description given on the web site is a gross error in the system. The saddlebags that were sent are not the proper size for, nor are they designed/geared for mounting on a Yamaha v star 950. Then the installation instructions enclosed fall short in the full directions category. When I purchase an item to fit one of my bikes, I expect it to actually fit and not be told by your "rep" that I need to drill holes in it to make it fit. That causes undue damage and "violates the integrity" of the item (which does against your terms). I have a deep seated fear that someone at your business is purposefully trying to misrepresent the product and (for lack of a better word) scam prospective customers. I expect that your organization will (to rectify this issue) send me a shipping label and reimburse me the monies paid.
In order to prevent any further issues, I have a complete set of pictures of the items being returned as well as copies if all paperwork.

On the Viking bags website they have display videos on whichever saddlebag you are purchasing. I watch the display video and one of the key features was the included mounting hardware that would save me $100 it showed the mounting hardware in the video that was specific for the bag I purchased with the shock cutout. When I received my order I was disappointed to receive completely different mounting hardware than what was advertised. I called viking bags and told them they sent the wrong mounting hardware and they said that the mounting hardware was generic and the video is old and out dated. I advised them that the mounting hardware was specific and the video is current and is currently still advertised on there website. I would like what was advertised because that is what I paied for and what I was expecting. The mounting hardware they sent me does not work with the shockcutout and if you watch the installment video also on there page it shows the mounting hardware they sent me on a completely different bag with no shock cutout. The person I spoke with on the phone said that he will send me the hardware I wanted. I thanked him and asked for a comformation number and he said it will be emailed to me. When I checked my email it did not have a conformation number but a not saying I have already received my item. That the hardware I received is all I get. They have not responded to any of my emails after that. I just want what I paid. For which was advertised on there website. I tryed to use the mounting hardware they gave me with no luck. It doesn't mount up properly because of the shock cutout and I would have to go against what they say to do in the installment video to do so. I fear I ruined my bags trying because your required to dill your own holes. Now my brand new bags are full of unnecessary holes and the mounting hardware is not installed correctly because it was not made for that bag. I feel such a lose. They act like they did nothing wrong.

I ordered a product from this company that comes with mounting hardware. The mounting hardware in question is a bolt. When selecting the product you put in the year make and model of your motorcycle. They sent me the wrong hardware which damaged the frame of my motorcycle. This is an extremely costly fix as I have to replace the frame. They have cents ignored multiple attempts to get a refund. At a minimum, I think I should be refunded the money for the product. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars this will cost to fix.

BEWARE, DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Another upset customer! I have purchased two bags from Viking Bags and both were defective. I thought maybe the first time was a rarity and tried again. I was wrong. The clips that are meant to make it easy to get the bag on and off your motorcycle, broke the very first time my husband used the bag. So I wrote to the company and asked for a replacement clip. I was super disappointed in the complete lack of customer service! Not only did they say they would not send a replacement clip they also let us know that they would not exchange or return the product either. From what I see from other reviews (wish I had checked reviews before doing business with them) they sell a lot of defective merchandise that they will not stand behind. I will never do business with this company ever again! By the way the first product we bought from them had a defective key lock.

I purchased a bag with this company and it got lost in the mail. They have been refusing to get in contact with *** to get me a refund. I had to open a claim myself (I did, *** states the package was never delivered and is lost and that the shipper must contact them with the infromation for the refund). Viking bags keeps denying responsibility and never contacted *** or filed a claim with them, even tho it is their responsibility because they are the shipper. I have taken all the steps I could as a customer: I have contacted them many times and gotten inefficient responses, basically denying to do their part.

You will see the exchange between us by email...

Aug 19,
I just got a call from my dealer. He tells me that the bags ordered from Vikingbags are not new. In fact, they are already drilled and these holes do not match the installation on a *** M109 (see attached photos). So someone has already tried to install them on another motorcycle!! For a correct installation it is therefore necessary to drill 4 other holes, which affects the sealing and the solidity of the saddlebags...
In reality, I am very disappointed with this gesture of the company Vikingbags and I hope this practice is not common otherwise other bikers will also be scammed!!!

Hi Renee
Ordered online on August 2nd, I did not receive the order until August 16t has the package was intercepted by Canadian Customs and charged me an additional cost of $106.23 in Canadian currency (document attached).

Considering this customs problem in terms of time, money and complications. I asked my motorcycle mechanic to seal the holes and seal them to prevent any water infiltration.

Under the circumstances, and given all the problems surrounding the holes already drilled in the saddlebags, requiring the additional work mentioned above, I would appreciate a compensation of $100 under the circumstances.

Thank you for your attention!

Hello ***,

We have reviewed your request and would like to inform you that we would not be able to offer any type of compensation for the issue you are mentioning due to the fact that the bags have been installed. Items received with any such defect need to be reported immediately to process an exchange. Once the bags have been installed the consumer accepts the condition of the bags.
-Customer Support

Purchased the viking bag mount hardware kit for viking bags I already own to put on my *** motorcycle. I installed the bags using the kit and after only 2 rides on the bike. I noticed the right bag fell off the bike while I was riding. I went back and found the bag and some of the mounting kit parts on the side of the road. I lost a body panel of the bike and the items inside of the bag when it fell off the bike. I look to see why it fell off and the bolts that mounted the bracket and the bags were broken off and still in the bike. I called customer service representative Omar and he told me to write him an email about incident. I wrote 2 emails to explain what happened and send pictures. I finally got a response when I called them a week later and because the bags were not bought from them at the same time as the brackets they dont want to do anything about it. The company rep said it is not their issue and quickly got off the phone. But it is their viking bags with their viking mount brackets. Even if I used another company's bags but used their mounting system, the failure was in their mounting bracket and hardware that caused the bag to fall off. I had explained it to the rep and he ignored me to say the bags arent under warranty anymore so they can Not cover them. My issue is their parts failed causing all of the issue. They should be liable to provide some type of resolution in the matter. I have pictures I can send if needed.

Returned product as directed by company. Viking Bags stated the refund will appear in my account in two weeks. The refund did not come in two weeks. I contacted them on 7/19/19 and they issued the refund was issued the previous night. They stated the refund would take 5-7 days. It has been 8 days now and still no refund. The return authorization # is ***. I returned t he product as they required.

They are very hard to contact, they do not return calls.

Originally I had completed a very positive review for my bags. However, once I started having an issue with the bags, their customer service has been horrible. I had one of the rivets/screws break, it held the cover onto the bag and we repaired it our self. Then I had the other rivet/screw on the same bag break, and the velcro wasn't holding very well, I contacted the company and through multiple emails and me sending them a video (at their request). I was told I needed to pay to ship the bags back. They approved my exchange/return, but I need to pay?? I told them I couldn't be without bags for almost 2 weeks AND I needed the box they sent the new ones in so I could send back the defective one - I was told that was not their "policy". I had even asked to talk or at least get an email from a manager and the request was ignored! At times, there can be a faulty bag, I understand that - I REALLY liked the bags. What they are missing, is how important customer service is!

BEWARE. I think Viking Bags conducts misleading advertising by saying that their products are made with Viking leather. I bought Viking Bag's "Large Shock Cutout Motorcycle Saddlebags For Harley Sportster 1200 Low XL1200L" (Product #*** ) in January 2018. In June 2019 I noticed that long cracks had formed across the straps.
I contacted Viking Bags' customer service who said that "Viking leather" is actually synthetic. When I bought the bags, nowhere on their website did they mention that.

I ordered bags for my *** Hammer S, the website said they would fit and showed the hardware that would come with them. The bags did not fit right and the hardware was completely different from what they showed. There was no way they were ever going to work. When I attempted to return them I got the run around for about 2 weeks (the product must be returned within 30 days) When I finally got some information I was informed that I was responsible for the shipping costs. Mind you I paid 165.00 for the bags and the shipping was going to be 60.00. Along with this is the fact that they have the option to take 50 percent of the product cost off of the refund amount if they are not happy with any part of the return. I am now at a loss as to what to do now besides just take the loss. I do not ever recommend purchasing from Viking Bags. We called and spoke to Julio who seems to be the one that not only answers all my calls but he also has answered all my emails that I have sent. We so far have gotten nothing but the run around.

I can’t even rate this place!! There should be minus stars!

WARNING!! To whomever this may be of interest:

Do NOT order anything from VIKING BAGS. I researched their website and found a pair of bags it guaranteed fit my make and model bike. I ordered, received and did not fit. Took them to a bike shop and they pondered for three days trying to come up with a way to try and make them fit. The bracket to move the tail lights back to accommodate the length of the bags (which the website said was “included”) was NOT included. The bike shop couldn’t mount them. So I called Viking and told them my issue. The rep said the bags were made for your bike and they should fit. Also, he said the bracket is not included and is extra.

I printed out the page on the web where it said it was included and highlighted it. Put it in the box with the bags that I returned this morning. Viking sent me a return label. Cheapest way to return these “perfect fit for my bike bags” was $80.12!!!!!!

I called Viking and spoke with a manager. No way will they pay for the return of bags and they should have fit!

Loser website!!!! Pass it on please. Worst customer service.

I ordered saddle bags for my 2002 *** Fatboy and when I received them I realized the bags that were sent were the wrong size. I immediately contacted Viking bags via email and requested a return. Jose from Viking bags sent a RMA and we returned the bags only after removing the bags from the box to visually inspect them. They were returned in the same condition as I sent them. Jose reached out and asked if there was another product I would like to exchange for and I sent him the product that fits my bike and waited for the new product. After more then a month of back and forth I was still waiting for my new bags and decided to have them just refund as I was not receiving any responses. I sent a email asking for a refund and heard nothing. I called and spoke with Jose today and he said there was damage to the bags witch is a fabrication and said it is being escalated to upper management. I asked to speak with a manager and he stated there are none available. Currently Viking bags owes me $486.00 and they are not returning it.
