Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: As purchasers of the carport, although we dealt with [redacted], we had no knowledge of the contract between Ms. [redacted] and WCMB. As far as we knew, our money was going to WCMB directly.  In addition, we are not responsible for Laura not checking her voice messages. We responded by voice message at noon on the day specified.  At 1:30, a voice message was left by Laura stating we were removed from the schedule.   At 3pm, we called to try and get back on the schedule and was told it was too late.  The next day, we called and cancelled the contract.  Then we purchased a building from their competitor.  To call us on the day following the Revdex.com complaint does not excuse this issue and our problems are with WCMB and not with [redacted].  As far as we are concerned she did everything right and our deposit is due us from WCMB.Sincerely,[redacted]

This request has been received and is on Adam's desk for scheduling. The repair is set for next week. 10-3, 10-4, or 10-5. Once Adam is able to narrow done a date and time you will be notified via your cell phone number we have on file.

We have been to this customers site regarding leaks and have previously determined that the leaks are due to tree debris. We had verbally agreed that we would come back out again with another crew and have them inspect the building to determine what was causing the leaks with the agreement that if...

this crew determined that the leaks were caused by tree debris as well then the customer would pay and charges related to the repairs done at that time. We had typed up the agreement and was ready to send, but then received this. Please let me know if the customer wants to move forward with our agreement.

This customer placed an order for a custom 10' wide building. Our Staff called to schedule with the customer, and when doing so offered the customer the standard 12' building for the same cost. The customer agreed to this option. Once on site it was determined that the 12' wide building would not...

fit in the location the customer chose. Therefore the 12’ wide building had to be restocked. The restock fee on the building is $606.86. This was waived as a good will gesture to the customer. We scheduled again with the customer for the 10’ wide building. As the 10’ Wide building is a custom building, it does require a 50% deposit; prior to construction as per the contract. The customer was scheduled for delivery on 4/5/017 the crew to arrive between 10:00am and 1:00pm. The crew arrived during the scheduled time frame and was turned away and asked to return in 3 hours by the customer. As the Customer had other contractors on site and did not have space for our crew at the scheduled time. The crew did attempt to return to the site and there were still other contractors on site. At that point the customer asked our crew to go ahead and do the installation even though the other contracts were not finished and still on site. Due to the other contractors on site there was not only enough space for our crew to park and have both space to unload the materials and work space for the installation; and the contractors were doing roofing repairs directly above our work site. Therefore this was not a safe work environment at that time. The restock fee on the building was again $606.86. We yet again waived the restock fee. We rescheduled with the customer once again for our crew to arrive on 4/13 between 11:00am and 2:00pm. We started receiving calls from the customer right away that morning wanting to know where the crew was. Yelling and screaming at our staff that they were supposed to be on site at 6:00am JR one of our General Managers tried speaking with the customer, he tried everything we could to help this customer. The customer stated that he was calling his attorney; therefore at that point we could no longer provide services. We have made every attempt to deliver and install the building. The building order has been canceled.

At no point do we or have we represented our company as [redacted]. We received an order for this customer on 8/31/2015. The order appears to be dated for July 6, 2015. This order was placed thru the customer’s local dealer [redacted]. To the best of our knowledge and our contract with [redacted] we are the only Manufacturer she orders thru.We called to schedule with the customer and did so for Delivery and Installation on October 27th. We then got a call back stating that this order was previously canceled. We did not have record of this, but no problem we canceled the order on our end and advised the customer that as per the contract they would have to contact their dealer regarding any deposits placed with them. We have not contacted this customer again.

We have many pictures on our web site that reflect many different options. We use written contracts to ensure that the building you are ordering is what you want. Please see attached signed order form from the customer. I have also attached our scheduling checklist, where you can see we diligently go...

over all the options the customer has requested. The last attachment is the final invoice. As you can see we did deliver and install all the options the customer ordered.Gables are an option this customer did not choose as per their contract. Gable ends for this size building are $150.00 Per Gable. We can only deliver and install what is ordered and approved by the customer as per their contract.

If at any time a customer feels that they are having communication problems with any staff member it is the customers right to ask for another representative to speak with. At no time in email or on the phone did this customer ask to work with somebody other than Imelda while placing his order....

There were several communications via email as well. Nowhere on WCMB Contracts or website (wcmbinc.com) does WCMB offer or reflect any buildings with a painted frame. The contract only allows for Roof and Trim Colors choices. Nowhere on the contract does give the option of a Frame Color. All of our Frames are Galvanized Tube. We only offer colors on the siding/sheet metal. This customer contacted us on 5/30/2017 for a quote. Imelda gave quote and emailed a contract on 5/30/17. Imelda resent the Contract again on 5/31/2017 to the corrected email address. WCMB received the signed contract on 6/3/2017 along with the required 50% Deposit for the custom building that was ordered. One day did not delay this building in any way. The building was originally set for delivery for one of the following days Aug 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. As we had an opening become up as another customer who ordered prior to this customer did not have their site ready so this order was moved forward for delivery and installation. As we do not charge for delivery or installation we give a window of time when we estimate that the crew will arrive based on all the buildings going out for that date. WCMB Installation crew left the site as the crew felt like they were being discriminated against by this customer. This customer also cussed and made discriminating remarks to WCMB office staff over the phone and in messages left on WCMB voicemail.WCMB reserves the right to refuse service to this customer at this time.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: When we ordered the building we were asked about the doors. We requested that the doors go in.  At no time were we told that the doors would not be installed properly and would leak.  Why would we order doors that would leak when the whole idea of cover is to keep dry?.  Majority of the doors in the world open in.  There was nothing on the plans and nothing on the order that states that the doors would leak if they open in.  Our first knowledge that the doors should not open in was when Benny came to inspect the building in December 2015.  He looked over the building and said "the windows were not finished - screws should be covered, and caulk not put in."  "And the doors were not put on properly".  "Doors only open out".  Received a call several days later from Jordan (Jan 9 2016 @ 11 am) Said that Mr. A[redacted] (not sure of spelling) requested pictures of the inside of building and they were sent.  Clearly what was built inside is nothing to do with the  building nor is it attached to the building....this would not cause leakage.  The windows have never been addressed from WCMB, Inc.  We went to a local  business who represented this company and they found it odd about the doors.  What are we to do?[redacted]

It looks like you actually paid your deposit by Credit Card. Therefore we refunded your card today in the amount of $730.00.

The scheduler did not get the message at that time. We have since called you back to schedule delivery and installation for the same date and time. The customer has chosen to cancel the order anyway. We did not collect any monies from you; the order and the deposit was placed with your local dealer...

[redacted]. You would need to contact the dealer as per the contract regarding your deposit.

We do not accept West Coast Metal Building's offering to apply some caulking to either the inside or outside of our building. We have spoke to several contractors regarding this situation and were told each time that this shed was not installed correctly. There must be a barrier (either weather stripping or caulking) applied where the concrete meets the metal in order for it not to leak around the base of the building. I would like to point out that West Coast claims  to be a specialty contractor, however they are either cutting corners, or playing stupid with the customer. They initially claimed that it was condensation and not leaking from the bottom. Then when they responded the next time, they claim that they can apply caulking, but cannot guarantee it will not continue to leak. So, in fact they have two different answers. The fact is that they are again grasping at straws. They are pushing the blame onto innocent customers by stating that it is our responsibility to install weather stripping. We did ask while the installers were here. Again they said, "our buildings do not leak." How would a customer know that the building would leak? Did the company suggest weather stripping? Or even offer an additional fee to install weather stripping? No, it was not advised or suggested. Shouldn't a specialty contractor offer this option to a customer who is investing $5,700 on a building? If we did not care about the items inside being dry, we would have only purchased a carport without the sides and a door. Again their statement, "Had the customer expressed any concern about this at any time prior to installation, we could have made recommendations." Really??? This statement is ridiculous coming from a specialty contractor who should know better. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY TO INFORM YOUR CUSTOMER! We have been informed that the only way to rectify the problem is to loosen the bolts, lift up the building and apply caulking under the building's perimeter. (Not to caulk inside and or outside).  This fee will cost $300. We are giving West Coast an option to fix it correctly or pay an outside contractor to do it. The "good will gesture" offered is not sufficient to correct the problem. We would rather have an outside contractor correct the problem who has knowledge of this and also has our best interest in mind. We have lost all respect for West Coast. We will have to wait until the rain stops to be able to correct the problem now. Just keep in mind that if they want to send a contractor up here from Oregon, it would have to be when it is dry enough to apply the caulk. And this would be subject to weather conditions. Not just a convenient day for them when they have a job nearby
Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Whoever answered this response from West Coast  either, 1. hasn't talked to Shawna or 2, needs to retrain Shawna  or her supervisor and let them  know that they do not represent [redacted].  In addition, they said that they let us know that the order was ready in October, 3 months later than the original 6 week delivery date of middle to end of the month of August.  By stating in the response that they called 3 months later to deliver should tell this responder that there was a problem.  And, in addition,  I have a copy of the formal cancellation that was sent on 8/31/15 faxed to West Coast at 6:04 AM.
Sincerely,[redacted]

I have attached the Invoice from the delivery of this building. Both Buildings were delivered on 8/2/16. I have also attached a picture of the building in this complaint. The site pictures show that the building was placed right where the cone was placed. We did receive the call the same day...

8/2/16. We also spoke with the installers the same day who stated that the customer did not ask the crew to put the building right up to the fence. We do not normally place buildings on property lines/Fence Lines unless specifically requested by the customer as this is not normally allowed by the City and County Building Code without Permits and a variance. We also require a minimum of 2' of work space on all four sides of a structure. Due to the enclosure on the back end of this building we would not have been able to build it all the way up against the fence. The Fee for this structure to move it is $724.00 we offered the move to this customer at a greatly discounted price of $250.00 which the customer agreed to. As we are a contractor all agreements must be in writing, so a contract was sent to the customer. We had scheduled with the customer to return to the site and move the building, but had not received the contract back. The customer was notified that if we did not have the signed contract back we could not preform the service. We received the contract back and the customer had written "signed under protest". We do not force our services on anyone and did not want the customer to feel like she was being forced to use our services as there are hundreds of contractors out there. We cannot accept a contract under duress or protest.

Complaint: [redacted]That is correct, the carport just needs to go straight back to the fence, approximately 7'.Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because was told something different by company today via telephone.
Contractors never came out on December 2nd. They called the day before with an hour notice so came out on December 1st.When contractors arrived to our house they informed us that building could be moved however would take them a full day to do. They were hoping to get it done the evening before. Contractors also informed us that they were over scheduled the day of our actual appointment and thus they weren't sure how they were going to get our job done. The next day arrived of our scheduled appointment and when no contractors or calls received we reached out the office.Brenda I'm assuming the company's receptionist stated that we didn't even have an appointment for our building to be moved on December 2nd. She said she could schedule us for an appointment for the 8th of December which didn't work for us since we were out of town.Asked to talk with manager, but was told they weren't available but someone would call on Saturday. Guess what no manager called us. When we out reached again we were told that they haven't been able to get a hold of contractors and asked that we send them a picture of where the building was, which road it needed to moved down and where it was to be placed.

Were informed we would receive a call on Monday, which we didn't and yet again had to call. No answers were given and and again had to wait for a call back. It wasn't untilWednesday after multiple calls to the company that we were informed that they couldn't (wouldn't) be moving our building.Numerous rationales of why it couldn't be moved were given: new area not flat enough (had truck loads of gravel delivered, retaining wall built and had leveled by professional), couldn't carry to new location (would have to take apart differently and this would take more time- and the contractors were already over scheduled and they couldn't do it as quickly as they hoped), dirt at corner of back wall (never were we given a list of how the pole barn needed to look prior to moving it- took off day of work and made sure it was completely emptied, never did company inform us that no dirt can touch any portion of pole barn, did offer to help move when contractors did come out) When contractors came out they didn't say they couldn't move the building. This company built our pole barn do they keep records of how it was built?Company should ask for pictures like their competitors do or come out to site prior to quoting and having customer complete contract and giving them 50% deposit to make sure they can do the job.Give customer specific instructions or list they should follow ie no dirt around building etc prior to appointment. Be honest and transparent with customer and not give multiple various reasons and excuses that don't match up.Work on follow through. Customer shouldn't have to call to find out why someone didn't do the job they paid them to do and have to make multiple calls on multiple days to get answers. Faster response equals happier customer. If you say you are going to refund someone by a date do it!! We were told by JR on December 8th that we would be receiving a check with our refund on December 16th, but no check has arrived. We again had to call today and speak with multiple people and were given various answers, which is incredibly frustrating and to top it off JR never called us back. Spoke with two different people one informed us from their account payable department that a check hasn't even been issued and wouldn't until the end of the month. Daniel stated that our check could have been lost, but never could confirm if check was issued or if so date it was mailed. Poor poor service! It's upsetting to have given some hundreds of dollars and wait months for them to do a job and then not have them do it. During that time we could have had another company do the job!!Want money back immediately! Want tracking number or so proof that check has been sent.
Sincerely,[redacted]

We made several attempts to deliver the building on several different dates. Several trips to the site were made with all the materials that ended up having to be restocked. All the sheet metal has to be scrapped each time due to scratches from loading and unloading the materials.  The restock fees for the tree attempts to install is a total of $1820.58. The order has been canceled and at this point WCMB will no longer provided serviced to this customer. We will refund $884.42 we received. All refunds are accepted at the end of each month and are issued the following week.

I am rejecting this response because: The last communication was confusing to me but my response stands.  Those ss breached their contract at least two times.  As a lawyer I can assure you of that fact.  Their installation crew was a bunch of ss also.  Abusive, obfuscatory and were over three hours late after their appointment time of noon to five that day had come and gone.  This company claims to be a member of the Revdex.com and I feel that you should definitely revoke their Revdex.com rating to protect other customers from these ss. They still have made no attempt at proffering me my refund.  They are no better than thieves in my opinion.  They lied to me and then to you and still have money they collected for a job they have not done.  What would you call them if you were in my position?  Since when has your organization become so impostent?  Do what you want.  I have already moved on and covered in the marketplace with a similar business in Fresno and had no problems whatsoever.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:The building installed was not a wood frame building it was metal so they are lying there. Please see the attached pictures of the building that I sent to them as well as the email  that shows her email address and mine in the header. Brenda stated that she received the pictures They need to come out and inspect the building and fix the leak it is now staining the trailer that is stored in the building.
Sincerely,

Regarding West Coast Metal Buildings:
I have spoken with Jesus who said that the management would get back to me regarding leaking doors.  It has been 2 months and I have not heard from them.  I am concerned that this will not be taken care of before the rains come.  Can you help with this matter?
Thank you.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
I am writing in regards to West Coast Building's response. As I said before, we were never informed that we should be concerned with leaking from the bottom of the shed. We called Janice beforehand to get all the dimensions and specifications of what the concrete pad should be before we had it poured. We wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for our new building. I did question while it was being erected if it would leak around the bottom and was told, "our buildings do not leak." I had no reason to question any further, as I am not a contractor.  I can guarantee and prove that this concrete pad is not slopped to the center and the building is not sweating. The water is running in from the bottom. I can prove this to be true and would have taken a water hose out to the building to show the contractor who was sent out by this company. But instead, he refused to listen to me or inspect the situation. Instead, he spent a total of 5 minutes here and left in a huff, stating that this call was a waste of his time. That the building was leaking around the bottom and this company does not warranty for this. We have a total of $5,700 into this shed including the concrete. We certainly did not expect this building to leak. As far as West Coast response that the customer has 30 days to complain if they are dissatisfied with the building, well it wasn't until it rained that we were dissatisfied. Surely not our fault that it was erected in the summertime- July to be exact with no measurable rain until the end of September. So, yes, we did voice our concern with leaking, but did not know that it was our responsibility to ask for some type of barrier to keep it from leaking. How would we know that we should demand a barrier? We are in shock with the lack of respect and professionalism that this company has shown. As we read through the many customer complaints to the Revdex.com about this company, we were mortified. Not so much about the number of complaints, but the lack of respect shown back to the customers.  We did not know that we could investigate complaints. We will surely do so in the future. We have purchased many inexpensive outbuildings in the past for our former properties and never had leaks. In fact, we erected a cheap Home Depot building ourselves and it did not leak. We are asking for a mediator to please step in as it is obvious that this company is not taking responsibility for it's bad design or bad construction. They are pointing fingers while not having the facts to support their accusations.  If this company will not send out a contractor to fix it, then we are asking for a monetary amount to have a contractor come here to fix it. We would not have the ability or knowledge to fix it ourselves. Which is why we spent $5,700 for a contractor to do it. Yes, $5,700 spent to keep our possessions dry and free of mold. We are enclosing pictures to prove our case. Not sure how many I can submit here, but can provide them for anyone who would like to see what the truth looks like.
