I have been to Western Digital's web site where I registered the hard drive......... I see no update to my warranty as of yet !!This is what's posted :IN WARRANTYPurchased on 5/28/2015Expires 1/1/2016 - 197 days left  As you can see they have not given me the full 5 yr. warranty...

[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Thanks for the response.  I reached out to multiple folks from their customer service department before submitting the Revdex.com complaint and nobody there knew what the Volume Virtualization feature is, how it works, or where to find documentation on how to use it.  It would be helpful if before closing the complaint Revdex.com would reach out to me first to make sure there isn’t any additional follow up needed from my perspective.  In the meantime, can you please reopen this complaint so that WD can be made aware of the issue where their customer service was unable to assist me and that further action is needed on their part?

Revdex.com, per our warranty policy, Western Digital is not responsible for any data loss. This statement is posted on our WD website as a legal statement. WD will consider a customer for a data recovery but has to accept a disclaimer that is emailed to them. In the disclaimer, it tells the customer that there is no guarantees for a successful recovery.

[I wish Western Digital would address  my concern regarding the personal data stored in the device which cannot be deleted due to its defective product. Every customer is supposed to have the right to fully delete the personal data before returning the product, but our right is simply taken away by the malfunctioning of the device. In our case, it is not we changed our mind wanting to return the product, it is BECAUSE your company manufactured a product which only worked several days. Also I don't quite understand the solution WD is offering, ex. what is the disclaimer I need to agree to? what is POP? Who covers the shipping fee? Thank you, Revdex.com, for your great help. ]
