There are two primary reasons that water goes over gutters: A) they need diverters, or B) the gutters and downspouts are too narrow. We installed diverters as agreed, but he was also told multiple times he needs a larger gutter and downspout which he does not want to get Our diverters were professionally installed and making taller ones will not solve his problem However, we will go ahead and install taller ones per his request

Our company never received a check from this lady that was made out to our company The only way any company check can legally be cashed is to deposit it into the business bank account of the company and that did not happen Moments I left a message for her to show my the front and back of the check, and that I would do what I can to help her from there That person she referenced received a draw for one week and we would not ever do business with that person again She was advised long ago to cancel the check, but we do not recall hearing anything of it for nearly years We are saddened for what happened and hope she gets us a copy of the check on both sides so we can determine who she did business with We know she did not do business with Thomas Jefferson Roofing as no check of hers was deposited into our account and we never received a contract to do work for her

Let's cut to the chase [redacted] only started complaining because he wanted an additional $discount - long after our signed agreement included well over $1,in upgrade discounts We promised him a $discount at the signing of three of our five agreements and instead of writing in a $discount, we wrote in that he would have upgrades at no additional charge IF he did not like that, he should not have signed the written agreement Before signing the agreement, he could have stated that he would not sign it unless I wrote in an additional $discount He did not do that Instead, he did a bait and switch and he has refused to keep our written agreement. He wanted to self perform much of the wood work, add the painting of his house, add much more gutter work, change the roof on his shed to metal, have us fix many more things along the way, including picking up all kinds of rubbish that his yard was riddled with long before we began our work.I wrote very clear agreements, but since he does not understand how to read insurance papers well, he confused himself so many times he gave up and blamed it on me Since my invoice did not include his desired discount (after he was 100% satisfied with 100% of the work), he has made rant after rant After giving up on trying to make sense of it, he wrote me an email stating that I should send all further emails to his wife I did so, and in a very short time she understood our invoices 100% with ease and knew it was 100% accurate and send us a check for 100% of what was due except for one thing: she recommended we split the $in two and accept a $further discount This was weeks ago and we told them that if [redacted] retracted his hateful inaccurate statements we would accept the additional $discount He seemed to become emboldened to use his social media club to force us to sign his wife's 'paid in full' check that is $short of accuracy. If [redacted] is so accurate with numbers, why is our invoice $short, but this complaint is asking for $1,400? ***, you should listen to your wife She knows better than to get upset with us over $supplement for your wood work that has nothing to do with us Just because your insurance company does not want to pay you $per hour for the wood work you did like you want them to is NOT OUR PROBLEM Go complain to them Write your own supplement to your own insurance company for your own work I showed you what I was going to send to them on your behalf as a favor to you and you accepted itWe only charged you $per hour for our expert wood work that you did not want to do and your wife sent us a check for 100% of it

should consider a future career in fictional writing. I had to have his
company come out two time to fix the original leaking area because the first
time they did not even do half of what was originally quoted, yet he charged me
the full amount. The work they did was minimal (they only replaced shingles)
for almost $800. Such an experience in my opinion should be considered
fraudulent. When he tried to argue that the under decking did not need
replaced, I asked him to just touch it, and when he did it crumbled and
cracked. He again said it didn't need replaced, but when I said I might
have a home inspector take a look at it, he said they would replace it.
Again, his excuse and response to my complaint is completely and
misleading.After the second
visit to repair the original leak, I had another leak right where they replaced
the decking. While it was raining, I put a piece of duct tape where the
leak was and it matched 100% with where the edge of the new decking was
installed. When Tim came out I did the “leak test” to show him the leak
that occurred the previous night during a rain event. Tim even CONFIRMED this to be true and a
result of their work, thus they added some caulking to try and seal it better,
but ultimately damaged the new shingles (see below). When conducting the second
"leak test" (which Tim notes as “free”…seriously?, they used my
garden house to simulate rain, how could that be an expense?), his guys did the
exterior spraying and there was still a leak near where the decking meets the
house. When I observed it in the attic (I was not doing the spraying), so
did his employee that did not speak English, but he said "aqui",
which I understood to mean "here". His other employee (that was
doing the exterior leak test water spray) did speak broken English and
explained that he agreed the work was near their new decking and was going to
fix it and then proceeded to pull the siding off my house. As I explained
in my first complaint, half way through Tim called his guys and told them to
stop work, slap the siding back on, and that he was going to charge me a
"change order". Only after did his guys start putting my siding
back on (with no caulking) and explained that Tim told them to stop work, did I
completely lose my temper. That was the second or third time Tim had
completely tried to screw me and I had absolutely no intention of speaking with
him after that. So, yes I did refuse to speak with him, but not before he
pulled his guys off the job and after they left my house susceptible to the
elements. When I had cooled down enough to talk to Tim he said he did not
agree the leak was his company's fault (without even seeing the second leak
test) and he was going to charge me $to come by to inspect it. Again,
I have never in my life dealt with such a rude and unscrupulous individual in
all my life. His response is also unacceptable, as he notes himself that
he pulled his guys to "go to another emergency temp service for our
number one client". I have never once asked him for "free"
repairs, only to do the work I paid for (I even paid more than my original
quote).To try and get a
better understanding of the situation, I had a second company come out and take
a look at the roof. This company is a very notable company and has a very
good Revdex.com rating. Since you will edit before posting, I will let you know

confirmed the leak was near the base of the new decking Tim ***'s company
installed by measuring down from the apex of the roof line both inside the
attic and outside on the roof. I was standing next the guy in each case
and witnessed this. Also, the *** guy pointed out all the cracked and
damaged shingles that Tim's crew had just installed. They were apparently
pried back off when they added the last round of sealant to address the
leaks. They also left a nail under one of the shingles which provides
another avenue for water and premature weathering. *** did not do any
invasive testing, and I took photos of all the areas they noted as being poorly
constructed. ***’s quote to repair Tim’s work was $450.To this day, the
only company to have done any "work" on my home was Thomas Jefferson
Roofing. My roof and siding are exactly as Tim's crew left them. If
there are any more disputes about what Tim's crew did or didn't do, I welcome any
inspector to come and verify my complaint. Lastly,
Tim suggests my complaint is to receive “free work”. I am not seeking any “free” work from TJR in
any way what so everI have paid them $and as I explained in my first
complaint, my house is now in worse condition than when they originally stepped
foot on my property. And their “free leak
test”, is BS, it’s a standard measure using a garden hose (my water expense) to
ensure the work was done properly. And
his statement that since they didn’t replace the caulking for my siding was a
good thing because “they (sic) will
likely be grateful there was not a lot of caulk for them to wade through”, is
just another example of how Tim tries to spin their shoddy work as a benefit to
the homeowner but leaves me additional out of pocket expenses to properly
repair their work. This is just
completely unacceptable

Our company agreed to fix a leak on one small area where a gutter meets a roof This is a typical area for water infiltration And, if we thought the wood was bad enough in that area to replace it, we would do so at an additional charge Our crew did not think it was that bad, and
they did not replace it The homeowner requested we come back and do so, and we did Since he wanted much more wood replaced, we charged a minute additional amount for many more shingles being replaced than originally planned He agreed and we did it.He later said he still had a leak, and we came out again and fixed it Then we performed a water test to insure it was fixed This is generally performed by professionals starting at the bottom and going up *** interjected himself by taking the hose and spraying water up into a corner of the soffit (under the eve) where water will never go and then said, "this leaks see" I told him that we were not there to fix his home from such things as water will never go there due to gravity-unless perhaps a tornado would defy gravity with such rain and wind. Our technicians then told him he had another leak approximately 5-feet below our work, and they showed him with a water test They then proceeded to remove some siding to show him what was done wrong and why he should have that fixedI had left by this point as I knew that if these people acted respectfully to one another, and my crew always did, they could prove to one another everything that needed proof I told my crew that if *** wanted us to fix this newly found leak that he needed to sign a change orderThough we had to go to another emergency temp service for our number one client, I told them to wait while I called the homeowner I called and he did not answer I asked my crew to give him the phone so I could talk to him He told them he did not want to talk to me I told them to tell him that if he continued to refuse to talk to me that they were to leave and to to their next job This was late on a Friday afternoon *** knew he had another leak and he was hoping our crew, who not only proved to him with a free water test that this other area leaked, and not only showed him the incorrect flashing for free, he seemed to assume that they would just do it for free if he were not to talk to me I have never had a customer be so rude as to refuse to talk to me all the while he is wanting our crew to stay and work Our crew left.On a subsequent day, *** *** asked I come to see a leak he had I said that I will be glad to do so, but if our area is not leaking, then he would need to pay a service fee He refused, but continued with the same request We repeated ourselves, and he refused to agree to pay for our additional visit We had already proved to him what needed to be done In my eyes, he just needed to pay for the service to fix his home instead of trying to waste a contractors time while trying to get something for free.Perhaps our crew did not caulk up the trim that they put back on his home However, the contractor that would need to take it off to properly fix the leak we found for him will likely be grateful there was not a lot of caulk for them to wade through.Timothy *** There is one more important point to add We were hired to fix a leak and perhaps replace some decking Please notice what *** *** did say in his complaint He did not say his roof leaks where we did our work! His only outstanding vague complaint regarding his roof is that he wants someone to come out and fix something, which in reality is the area we showed him he needs to fix a wall a few feet below and entirely apart from our work area He knows he has no evidence our work leaks during a rain or else he would have taken me up on my offer to come to his place

If she truly has a signed agreement and truly signed a check over to TJRR, why does she not show us a copy? And, the $1,000, what was that? Was it a second check, or cash? What was it. If she has a legitimate complaint about our company, why did she only talk once two years ago and drop it for years. Why didn't she return my call yesterday or today and produce any evidence? Is it because she and this person made their own deal outside of TJRR, and after she got taken by him, she wants to take out her frustrations on us? If she is ready to do the ethical thing and show us the evidence, I will take it from there. How does she expect any police to do anything with no contract, and no evidence of a fraudulent check? If her bank paid out on a TJRR business check, why is she not pursuing her bank for fraud for paying a person for a company check? Why is the Revdex.com not asking for such evidence? Are they?

The money was refunded before this complaint was made. We are very sorry we did not get to this job as planned. The tech we wanted to do the work is no longer with our company. We do not believe in rushing to do a job without a technician who is an expert at the job at hand.
Installing gutters are not our specialty. Though we have a person starting soon who would do an excellent job, it is obviously not soon enough for you. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused you. Have a great day

Here are some bottom lines:A) *** *** paid us in full indicating he liked how much decking we replaced last which he easily saw from inside his garage.B) *** *** complains about our work, but he never said it leaks in our work area and we have had many rains since then If he had a legitimate complaint about our work leaking IN OUR CONTRACTED WORK AREA, he would have taken me up on my offer to go look and for him to pay me if it is not leaking in our area I offered multiple times and he refused because he knows he only wants to make a mountain about a board in the area outside of our work area that was not caulked well Again, though he refuses to accept it as a favor, it is a favor to the next contractor who he should hire to fix the leak in the separate area to not have to go through fresh caulk to do so.C) I will be glad to meet with any third independent party to discuss the scope of our work and listen to any complaints toward what we were contracted to do If he wants further caulk on the one board that I'm told our crew did for him in showing him of a totally separte leak below our work area, I'll put caulk on that board at no charge As for the free work we did in showing him this other leak, he is obviously determined to show me that no good deed for him will go unpunished I will even go and look even if an independent party does not want to go there to meet me.D) I wonder if *** *** distinquished our area from his other leak when discussing it with *** He has yet to admit to the new leak that our crew proved to him exists and he never told them they were incorrect when there To the contrary, he was upset he was proved wrong and left and refused to talk to us If he is so certain of his position, he would likely not say that he does not want me to go to his house now While my two hispanic employees did speak Spanish at times, they do speak fluent English and he knows it His apparent contempt for Hispanics is unfortunate

Sorry for the delayed response to you.  While my response was delayed to you, it was not to the homeowner.  I called them very soon after reading the complaint - just before or after Thanksgiving - and all issues were amicably resolved.  I could elaborate, but I see no value in doing...

so.  We had a wonderful conversation as though no issue exists.  Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

This person was never a customer of ours.  We have never seen a contract with her, nor a proposal.  We have never seen or cashed a check of hers.  We have never seen any payment from her. We are not sure what she and Eian S[redacted] entered into with each other, but she is refusing to produce evidence or receive or return phone calls. Please remove her complaint from your sight.   Timothy G[redacted], President Thomas Jefferson Roofing & Remodeling LLC 1010 3rd Avenue Suite 209 Carmel, IN 46032 317-TIMELY-TOM (846-3598) www.ThomasJeffersonRoofing.com

We only charged you $50 per hour for our expert wood work that you did not want to do and your wife sent us a check for 100% of it.
