The complainant agreed top the Terms and Conditions of the sale before making the purchase, as is required for all...

potential buyers, which clearly states there is 25% restocking fee when cancelling an order.  In most cases we will waive this if it has been less than 24 hours since the order is placed and cancelled. Furthermore, the complainant has many assumptions as to what exactly happens after the order is placed and when it would be delivered with no real knowledge of the process.  The 25% restocking will stand as agreed to by the complainant when placing the order. Our actual complaint rate is less than 1% considering the volume of business we do yearly so the reasoning for cancelling the order is less than justified.

Revdex.com:I want physical address of this business. .. I'm not the first one this person cheated,  there's a lot more. .. This salesman never saw the engine... The salesman have no knowledge at all of mechanics of a car engine...  I will talk to the mechanic to inspect engine so he can send a letter to Revdex.com about what he saw... Mechanic told me also that is not the first time he sees this. .. Other people had claim that the engine is low mileage until he see it inside... He also told me that he can put the engine in the car even that is more for Honda Accord. .. He can put your engine in my car... He told me that. .. But he also got upset when he saw the engine inside... I will always believe what a professional tell me, and in this case, a few mechanics. .. Some told me that they cannot do it but that the engine has more than 69 thousands, another one told me that he can do it but that is not worth it to use that engine because I will need to have it replaced over and over and that I'm going to spend more money... That is better to get one with low mileage and check inside before. .. That is not good to buy items like an engine, online... I have to go in person and inspected before buying. ..

Unfortunately, the customer actually ordered the wrong engine in this case.  After the customer received the engine, we found out he actually needed a 2.3 Liter instead of the 2.2 Liter he ordered. There is a substantial price difference and we suspect the customer ordered the 2.2 Liter in...

hopes it would work for his vehicle. Additionally, the mechanic cannot tell by visual inspection how many miles any engine has accumulated.  Therefore, we cannot not possibly take back the motor and doe a direct exchange based on the mechanics opinion and due to the fact the customer ordered the wrong engine.  We would of never sold an engine to a customer unless they told us this is the right engine for their car and in fact rfuse to sell engines which are not a match for the VIN# when the customer is able to provide. This customer does not have a warranty claim under the Terms and conditions of the Free Warranty.  We recommend all customer make certain they are ordering the exact engine for their vehicle when placing the order.  Our representatives can only go by the information provided by the customer when placing the order.

We have reviewed the customers complaint and are issuing a full refund in this case due to the mishandling of the Representative on the call.  However, the engine was to be delivered in the allotted time allowed as we make no guarantees as stated on the site in the FAQs:  "On average,...

pending volume and weather, time for shipping takes approximately 7-14 business days. "  In defense of the customer, had the called been handled differently we of most likely seen a different outcome. We are dealing with the Representative who talked to the customer appropriately as this is not acceptable behavior.  Once again, we apologize and will consider this complaint resolved.

I have sent them a email, If you can provide me with a different email address, so I can send the photos of the engine. This is my second request for an email address, as I previously ask on the last statement.

As the complainant has stated the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty state on Line 1: “Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches,...

sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.” It is also stated on line 15: “We do not warranty oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets or filters.” We clearly do not warranty gaskets and should be inspected by the mechanic and replaced if deemed necessary with all of our engines. We believe the complainant is confused in thinking he ordered a rebuilt engine and not a used engine as we advertise, offer and supply.  No Used Engine supplier tears apart an engine and replaces gaskets and bolts as the complainant suggest we should do. This would be referred to as a rebuilt engine if this was the case which typically cost considerably more. We supply only used engines as clearly and prominently stated on our site and by our representatives when calling in.  We apologize if there was confusion on this order, but we do everything we can to ensure our customers are getting a used engine and what is involved with choosing this product.

Mr [redacted] had ordered a5.4l engine from us back on April 6, 2015 for a 2006 Ford F-150 and it was sent out to him in a timely manner. He had called us to say the engine did not come with spark plugs. However none of our engines come with spark plugs and neither do we advertise that. We only...

sell used engine and recomend that you get new spark plugs. On June 11, 2015 he had called to report that the engine had some jb weld on the timing cover. Timing covers on a 5.4 engine are removable and just left on for convenience purposes, if he does not like that timing cover he can use his original timing cover. That is the last we heard from Mr. Yenchek. If he has an actual warranty issue he can submit his claim online or just call the warranty department, he does not have to leave voicemails.

the complainant requested a letter on company letterhead going over the engine purchased, vin number and their information.  We emailed the complainant the requested document on 9/22/16...

If they are not able to find the email we can look to resend the information to them. We hope this helps the complainant get his title and closes this case.

The business has not responded to the original complaint as to why they were sending the needed items to repair the motor per their warranty. The mechanic that installed the motor purchased from them followed the instructions from them to the letter, per line 18 of their warranty the engine could not be opened and inspected without their prior written authorization without voiding the warranty for the engine. SW Engines stated they have a 3 year warranty on the engine, and from an exterior inspection the engine did not have any leaks around the oil pedestal OR the head gasket. In contacting the business I had been informed on phone (which they record their phone calls per their on hold message) they had all things needed for repair of the engine ready to ship to me, and they placed a stop work order for those items. At this point I have done everything they have requested to enforce my warranty for this engine, I am out the diagnostic fee and potentially $800 for install of a head gasket plus price of part, and even more for the oil pedestal and labor to install that.after having spent over $2000 for this engine and it is not even a year old, it has not overheated and am watching it daily for oil level I feel that the least they can do is honor their warranty.Since they infer in their response the engine was not inspected they are putting out a warranty on an engine and then laying all responsibility on mechanic and purchaser and basically stating the warranty and engine are as is.I purchased the engine from them because of the warranty and good price, I am aware that things can happen but they need to forward me the parts and the money to have these items installed on the engine, the parts are not accessories but intricate parts of the engine and its function.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Though the "Damaged" ( not alleged damaged ) parts are not under warranty, that was NOT our main concern.  THE MAIN CONCERN was that the engine we PAID for was NOT the SPECIFIC engine we ordered.  I/we are aware of OEM standards and understand that in many cases parts and engines are interchangeable.  HOWEVER in our case it is not!  Because we DID read through your site, we called PRIOR to actually placing the order and paying for it.  The reason for this is ( as explained in MULTIPLE EMAILS TO YOUR EMPLOYEE AND OVER THE PHONE ) the 2004 Dodge Neon SRT4 that we needed to purchase the engine for has upgrades, MANY INFACT and because of placement of intake manifolds, motor mount locations and upgraded/staged PCM and many other sensors and gauges, we needed the specific engine for the 04 DODGE NEON SRT4 and not one to be CONSIDERED interchangeable.   AGAIN this is why BEFORE placing the order we called and spent nearly 30 min on the phone with a woman that was very helpful and listened to everything we said, she was typing away on a computer or something and seemed to understand that we did IN FACT need that SPECIFIC engine.  after our in depth conversation she REPEATEDLY stated that she verified it was the SPECIFIC engine and NOT the presumed OEM interchangeable PT cruiser 2.4L turbo engine from Chrysler.    Satisfied with what at the time we thought was her knowledge and understanding of the situation ( being that " technically" the PT cruiser engine would fit however not without us having to make MANY COSTLY modifications to the existing car) she convincingly assured us that we would in fact receive the SPECIFIC 2004 DODGE NEON SRT4 engine and NOT THE CHRYSLER 2.4 turbo engine.  In reality ENGINES.COM or whichever name they are using these days has not addressed ANY OF MY REAL CONCERNS AND TO THIS POINT 5 WEEKS AND 1 DAY SINCE THE ENGINE WAS DELIVERED AND I IMMEDIATLY CONTACTED THEM ( or at least tried to daily via email, & phone calls ).   I did not report " alleged damage" I provided photos of such damage as instructed to do so by Scott in our one and only conversation.   the Shipping or actually delivery concerns were not discussed, or resolved in any manor,  simply ignoring every single attempt I/we made DAILY to resolve this,   A HUGE ISSUE FOR US!  I paid for something I/we did NOT receive!  though you conveniently use your " warranty/guarantee" policies as your " EXCUSE " it is in fact WRONG!  what you have done and seemingly have done to MANY MANY people under MANY MANY company names for MANY MANY YEARS is whats wrong with this world today.   We had a simple request, TO RECIEVE A SPECIFIC ENGINE THAT WE VERIFIED AND WAS PROMISED BY ONE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES, WE PAID OUR HARD EARNED MONEY HOWEVER WE ARE NOW STUCK WITH AN ENGINE WE CANNOT USE, WE THREW AWAY $1675.00 AND ARE NOW DOWN A VEHICLE THAT OUR SON HAS WORKED VERY HARD TO PURCHASE, UPGRADE AND SHOW REGULARLY.  My Husband is currently stationed away from us as he has MANY times over his 26 year Military career doing what he has done to support us and to protect this country often putting his life in danger yet when I think of how a company like yours is and has taken advantage of people and families like ours ( hard working American's)  it infuriates me to think about ALL MYSELF, MY HUSBAND AND OUR CHILDREN HAVE SACRIFICED to protect SELFISH, GREEDY, UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND YOUR COMPANY!the resolution was simple,   all we asked was for you to locate and send us the SPECIFIC SRT4 engine and allow us to return what you sent previously.  that was all we asked.  please tell me why that was too much for you to do to keep a good customer happy?  It appears you would rather continue doing shady business and continue with filling your pockets while taking from us.   the only resolution we will accept is this...  the RIGHT ENGINE DELIVERED IN GOOD CONDITION AT YOUR EXPENSE OR A FULL REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE $1675.00 AND THE COST AND HASTLE ASSOCIATED WITH RETURNING THE WRONG ENGINE BACK TO WHEREVER IT CAME FROM!All anyone had to do was speak to us, answer a phone, respond to an email but no your not even capable of that.  which is why you have over 300 COMPLAINTS!SINCERELY[redacted]

Mr [redacted] said he was going to send a cashiers check for a 2002 Grand Am engine for $1540.00. We never got the cashiers check mailed to us. The tracking number he provided said the mail carrier left in mail box but we never got it.

The complainant ordered via the phone and the type they requested was ordered and entered correctly. They did get a receipt emailed to them which they agreed to. To get a replacement transmission the complainant will have to pat the shipping and restocking fee and any additional charges...

for the difference of the transmission. We will be more than happy to help the complainant get the updated transmission they are needing.

The customer called in on 10/21/2015 to let us know there was an issue with the transmission.  After asking for the copy of the installation invoice and receiving it, we immediately noticed one of the most important procedures were not followed being the Transmission Filter was not replaced as...

required.  Every transmission comes with a tag on it which clearly states what must be done for the warranty to be valid.  We have attached an image of this tag as an example.  With all due respect, the customer should be taking this up with his mechanic who did not follow procedure which is often the case.

Mr [redacted] was sent the wrong engine at first, we had then sent him the correct engine which is the one he was supposed to get originally. He was looking for a throttle body, but we unfortunately do not sell throttle bodies, also no where on his invoice did it say that the throttle body was on the engine.

We do not guarantee shipping times, nor can we control any delays caused by the shipping company.  We suggest the complainant call the shipping company and request reimbursement as we cannot assist with this request.

We shipped the complainant their engine on 9/16/2016. The complainant registered their warranty on 11/16/2016. Per line 10 of ther Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty: "10.Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL BE VOID. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty."  We do not show any communication from the complainant reaching out to us to communicate alleged issues with their purchased engine. We would ask that the complainant please email us at [email protected] with their issues and problems and we can look to address them once we receive their email. We hope this closes this matter and any issues going forward.

The fluid used by the shop is ATF which stands for Automatic Transmission Fluid.  I have attached a photo of the fluid used.  If you notice, it is Global Synthetic ATF.  In fine print, it states it is for use in Hyundai vehicles.  I've also attached the spec sheet for this fluid that shows it is tested and acceptable by Hyundai for use in their vehicles.  This company is trying to rip people off.  The fluid has nothing to do with the park "pin" that did not engage.  The transmission worked fine except for the parking pin.  This pin is engage manually by moving the shift lever and has NOTHING to do with what type of fluid is used.  The transmission worked fine with the fluid, shifted through all ranges.  It would simply not hold in park.  Your accusation of using the wrong fluid does NOT make sense.  Also, Alex told me that it was on the INVOICE that we used ATF fluid, which is a lie, it is not on the invoice.  But Anthony told me the "external warranty company" CALLED my installer, which he DID NOT and that my installer told him he used the wrong fluid.  I spoke with my installer and he did not call him.

The complainant did purchase and engine from us and once they received the engine they stated there was alleged damamge to bolt on items and did not want to use it. The complainant also stated the engine was not the correct engine for their vehicle. Per the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty:...

Line 16: "OEM auto parts are interchangeable with multiple years, makes and models which means the same part is an exact fit for multiple makes and models as determined by OEM standards. We guarantee the part we sell to fit your vehicle." http://www.gotengines.com/warranty.html Also the complainant stated there were alleged damaged parts on the engine. Per the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty: Line 1: "1.Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.2.We are not responsible for improper installation and or labor charges." The Throttle Body is one of the items that are not covered under the Free Warranty. We would ask that the complainant change out the specific parts the alleged were damnaged from their prior engine.  Per Line 14 of the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty when it comes to mileage; "14.The stated mileage is not guaranteed and is correct to the best of our knowledge." We hope this closes this matter and any issues going forward.
