Wild West Domains Reviews (50)

Review: Wild West Domains, LLC ([redacted]) is a provider of MANY spam sending companies and should forced to place more stringent requirements and monitor them on their clients. My email addresses across multiple business and personal email accounts (domains) have been overrun by spam emerging from this company's registered domains. These include but are not limited to [redacted].info, [redacted].com, [redacted].com, etc. The amount of spam I receive daily has become overwhelming and it has affected my business. Not only do the emails received from these various clients of Wlid West NOT contain any "unsubscribe" information, if they do contain a link that says "unsubscribe," it is a ploy to get you to visit their websites, offering what can undoubtedly be considered scam services or products. This company, Wild West Domains, LLC, is encouraging this kind of activity through their policies and something needs to be done for folks like me who end up losing time and money due to these issues.Desired Settlement: As mentioned above, this company should be AT LEAST required to enforce stricter policies governing spam-generating users on their systems. Due to the information mentioned here, http://[redacted], I believe this service provider should be shut down completely and the owners/founders should not allowed to reopen as a new company providing the same service.

I currently have 4 domains registered with Wild West Domains (websitepalace.com), 3 of them for over 4 years. I have used their web hosting and website templates with great success. The websites are beautiful and the template process is fairly easy to manipulate and understand, especially since I had absolutely NO website experience whatsoever. I occasionally change some of the content on the pages around and their "preview" button is very helpful before the changes are completed. Payments are cheap and simple and I appreciate the 90-60-30 day email reminders before expiration. The one time I called their Customer Service, they answered my question with no problem. I would recommend them to any novice like myself.

Review: A long time ago, I would have to guess around a decade ago, I purchased a domain name for a year as a gag gift to a friend for an online gaming group he had misspelled. When the time expired on the domain I cancelled it. This company which now appears to be going under the name of [redacted] and/or Wild West Domains and/or [redacted]. located at [redacted] (if you search around online all roads lead to this last reference), this "company" has continued to take money from my account for years. Each time I receive a few emails telling me that they are going to bill me again and each time I have replied. I have replied to the emails, filled out their web forms, and talked to them in person on the phone and each time I get the same story that they will refund the money they are sorry and that it will stop. However, it does not stop. I am absolutely furious. This practice has gone on for years. I have begged pleaded and followed all of their instructions yet they continue to take my money. They just hit my account for another $70.00... I am in the process of closing my accounts so that they can no longer do this. I am sure I will not see any of the money that they have stolen from me over the years. In common language this is known as theft at the very least gross incompetence which still results in thievery. This business needs to be reported far and wide for this type of activity and who knows how many other people they are doing this to. While I have no way to calculate exactly how much money this company has stolen from me over the years, I believe that if enough consumers are made aware of the activities that this company is involved with, then maybe just maybe they will be put out of business and the world will be a better place.Desired Settlement: Refund of all the money this company has stolen from me over the years. Maybe an apology for having done so or having been so incompetent with some indication that they have figured out how to resolve the situation so that this no longer happens to anybody else.

Response:

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have reviewed our customer's correspondence and would like to present the following.

Upon purchase of services, our customer acknowledged and accepted the following agreements:

• Universal Terms of Service Agreement

• Domain Name Registration Agreement

• Domain Name Proxy Agreement

Copies of the latest version of these agreements may be found at: [redacted]

On September 29, 2008, our customer purchased their domain name for a two-year term along with our Protected Registration service. One of the features of Protected Registration is that it will continue renew the domain name until the service is canceled. As the service has never been canceled, the service and domain name have continued renewing every two years, with the latest renewal occurring on September 20, 2014. These are the terms agreed to by the customer and Wild West Domains has followed their service purchase instructions.

We have also provided proper information to the customer multiple times about the information we need from them to bring closure to this issue. We have not received cooperation from the customer.

Resolution:

Wild West Domains has, in good faith, upheld our user agreements with our customer and honored our terms of service. Account management is a customer responsibility. If the customer cooperates with us to cancel the service, we are willing to refund the latest renewal as a courtesy ($70.32 refund).

Education:

The following Help Center article will be helpful to our customer in canceling the service:

Canceling Protected Registration

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

When your company website interface fails to allow a customer to cancel a subscription every other year and then your customer support staff provide verbal commitments over the phone promising to "Cancel" and refund any moneys taken from you every two years, not once, but rather over and over and over again that is unsatisfactory. For you to claim that this is the customers fault when it is absolutely 100% on the hands of your support team both web and phone then I have nothing left to say to you. You need to be put out of business. I wonder how many more people are being ripped off by this company under the guise of customer inaction. It is almost to the point you can not trust anyone...

While this company has offered to refund the last $70.00 that they have stolen from me they then turn around and insult me by stating that this is my error. This I do not accept. I stand by my complaint. They have been robbing me for years... I follow their instructions each time fill out their forms and jump through all of their hoops to end up with a customer service rep apologizing on the phone promising to fix everything and not to worry it will not happen again etc... Thinking everything is resolved you go about your life only to discover it happens again and again and again! They will not stop... This is their doing. If they are doing this intentionally by design or "accidently" by design... I will let you be the judge of that. However, I do not accept their insult. I am not sure what that means to accept it or not to accept it. Rest assured I do NOT accept the insult. Furthermore I have closed my bank account so as to prevent any more theft from this company as that appears to be the only way to stop them

Response:

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,

Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the customer’s additional concerns.

WildWestDomains.com stands by our previous response. Our customer contacted our representatives on two occasions (April 1, 2013 and October 1, 2014) related to this matter. On the first contact (April 1, 2013), our representative provided the customer with proper instructions for canceling Protected Registration however, the required steps were never completed by the customer.

On the second occasion (October 1, 2014), our representative tried explaining once again how to cancel the service however, our customer was not cooperative with our staff.

Our customer never followed the process to request the cancellation, allowing WildWestDomains.com to stop the service. Since the original Revdex.com complaint, our customer has performed a reversal on the $70.32 renewal charge and WildWestDomains.com will not be disputing the reversal. As this was the offered refund amount and the domain name has been repossessed by WildWestDomains.com, we consider this matter resolved.

Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the additional concerns presented by our customer. We hope to serve our customer again in the future.

Review: [redacted]Wild West Domains holds the domain my partner purchased in my name approximately a year and half ago through [redacted]. I have never been able to use this domain from the very beginning. I do not have the login information and [redacted] will not provide me with it.

I have had numerous conversations with representatives from [redacted] and Wild West Domains. At one point the domain name expired and the [redacted] employee (S[redacted]) took my credit card number to renew it, but he (once again) refused to provide me with the login details.

I am the co-host of a popular talk radio show. If I cannot get the cooperation of [redacted] and Wild West Domains in resolving this issue, I will start referring professionals in our network to other websites. [redacted] and Wild West Domains should have a convenient way of handling issues like this (such as uploading a copy of a valid state-issued ID).

Thank you for your kind assistance with this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like the merchant to assist me in getting access to the domain name I purchased from them through WordPress.

I purchased a website domain through the company I Want A Local Domain. It was renewed, and I received an email that it was renewed. I responded via email that I wished to cancel the domain. I received an email from Wild West Domains stating that they had opened a Incident to help me with my request. A few days later I received a written response giving me instructions on how to cancel the domain. Unfortunately, the instructions asked me to log into my Account Manager, etc. - no information that I currently had. I called them today to ask how to do so. The first person I spoke to responded in a sarcastic and aggravated manner suggesting that I had not received an email from his company. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He told me that he could not help me and then asked me what phone number I called (I felt again disbelieving that I had received an email from them). I responded that I called the phone number on the email I had received - which was his since his employee had answered. The conversation lasted for over 15 minutes. So, 3 emails, 15 minutes of conversation, and they cannot help me. I NEVER have written a Revdex.com complaint. I only am writing this because of the lack of customer service and making me feel badly. I think a better way of handling it would have been if the company's original email to me would have been cc'd to I Want a Local Domain and if they had told me how to contact them.

Review: I graduated in May 2011 with an art degree and before that I have been trying to register the domain "[redacted]". This domain has not been used for as long as I have known it. This domain name is registered by a user or customer of Wild West Domains. I am against Cybersquatter, which is according to the United States federal law known as the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, is registering, trafficking in, or using a domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else. I do not have a trade mark for my first name and last name, however Wild West Domains support thinks that I should pay them to speak to the owner of that domain name "[redacted]" to see if they would like to sell it with no guarantees that I will get it. They also will not give me that domains contact information or/and name. I do not know if Wild West Domains could even show me proof that they spoke with that domain owner, or if they are just trying to collect money from me which is fraud. Best to my knowledge, Wild West is attempting to profit from me for a domain that hasn't been used for years and this is unjust.Desired Settlement: Please give up the domain name [redacted] to me.

Response:

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,

Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant. We have reviewed this matter and would like to present the following.

Contrary to the complainant’s understanding, Wild West Domains is only the registrar of the domain name in question, not the registrant. The complainant is not required to pay to contact the current registrant of the domain name in question, as they are welcome to use the information found in a public Whois lookup to contact the registrant. The complainant has other options that Wild West Domains or its related companies offer such as domain backorders, however these are not guarantees to acquire the domain, nor is the complainant required to use them.

RESOLUTION:

Wild West Domains upheld its agreements in good faith and honored its terms of service.

We will not award the domain name to the complainant however, they are welcome to contact the current registrant in an attempt to negotiate the sale of the domain in question.

Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

I have looked for the contact information for the domain owner of [redacted]. That website is registered under Wild West Domains. I do not have access to that domain users information other that Wild West (the company who has information about that domain) and therefore I am unable to contact the user. Wild West Domains admitted to knowing the person who has registered [redacted] over the phone and that they admitted over the phone that they are a customer of their company and they wanted to contact that person at a cost with no guarantees that they will contact them. I want to speak with the domain owner my self. Please profide me with his/her contact information?

Response:

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,

Thank you for bringing the complainant’s additional comments to our attention.

Wild West Domains’ terms do not state that we will perform information disclosure as part of any agreement that we have entered with the complainant.

As with many other life situations the registrant of the domain name has chosen to remain anonymous by utilizing a legitimate privacy service for their WHOIS data. Wild West Domains will not breach its agreements with the registrant of the domain to simply satisfy the demands of the complainant.

RESOLUTION:

The complainant is asking Wild West Domains to disclose information about another party. This request would violate our agreement with the other party therefore, we ask that this complaint be closed.

Review: I transferred services from [redacted] (whom I filed a complaint about) last week, Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013. I had several issues there, and most of them are the same as my current one. My complaint is about [redacted] ( I believe a subsidiary of Wild West).

My issue started the first day of my host transfer. To begin, I couldn't find clear and concise instructions to transfer my domain and Wordpress data to [redacted]'s hosting service. I did the research I needed to find that there was documentation on the internet for transferring my domain name, however, there was a problem finding the correct instructions for transferring the Wordpress data to the [redacted] host. Each video or set of instructions I found was different, and, Wordpress, the hosts, both [redacted] and [redacted], claim is supposed to support transferring issues. I could find no clear answers to transferring the Wordpress data on Wordpress.org site. At that point, I began communication with [redacted]. I requested a solution to uploading the data to my new host service that had been activated.

When I contacted [redacted], they immediately told me that they don't support Wordpress which at first was a bit strange. [redacted] offers this service as an option with their host. At first, I couldn't figure why they said they didn't service the transfer. I made more phone calls to [redacted]. Each person tried telling me a different way to upload the Wordpress data. After about the 6th call, third day, I was angry about what had transpired during each call, each day.

[redacted] Representatives each lied to me. Told me they weren't supposed to work with the Wordpress system. Most of them tried to sell me something different, or, tried to lead up to selling me something different. I finally spoke to a supervisor. I asked him to note my account. In short, I told him I'm not satisfied with the service and that I'd like him to note my account. Also, I told him that I work for a company, Our City Radio, and I'm supposed to sell their service, but at this point I didn't see how I could. I continued, all of [redacted]'s technician staff should have basic knowledge to each and every platform that they offer for their customers, at the very least, for a transfer. He spoke with me for a moment, found the issues I was having with Wordpress, that day, and helped me.

In the next couple of days, the issues continued. From what I'd been experiencing, the technicians are told to quote an extremely long hold times for particular task system population. Each instance they gave me a quote of time, it was so they could release the call. I was told 2 hours and it populated immediately. I was told 24 to 48 hours and it populated immediately. So, each time I had to call back and talk to a different representative, tell the the story again, and, receive the same misleading front line arguments.

Finally, I spoke to someone who got the site to broadcast, and after a couple more calls, I spoke to someone who gave me instructions to get missing pages (there was an error message) to populate. After speaking to him, I asked to speak to another supervisor. This time, I spoke to [redacted]. I asked [redacted] why it had taken 5 days to get my site transferred when it should have taken 24 hours or less. He was apologetic and said that it shouldn't take that long, however, they have to give those times to the customers in case it actually takes that long. At this point, my problem wasn't possibility but the fact that when I added up the time that it took me to talk to the ones that helped verses those that didn't and subtracted the the long holding times and time that they wasted trying to figure out what angle to use to get me to spend some more money, I came up with 24 hours precisely. [redacted] used an analogy that they must use quite often. "You have to think of it as a house. When you buy a house and furnish it, you don't go back to the people that sold you to house to fix the furnishings." I told [redacted], "When you buy a house the people that sell you the house don't give you the furniture to put in your house." I again expressed my concern with these issues. I asked who to speak with about the service so that I could request better training and he gave me an email address.

Today, September 10, 2013, I contacted [redacted] 3 times. The first time, I was told by, Bear that the issue wasn't supported, then, after taking a break he came back on the line and I disconnected while he was literally sizing up a sale. I spoke to a second person [redacted], who agreed that it was an issue that they should support and tried to help. It didn't work. I should point out that they all portray confusion. Then, I spoke to [redacted] who took his time to patronizing me. I quickly relayed to him the fact that I wasn't going to purchase anything else after he told me that the issue was something that I could have access to if I purchased a different hosting package. He finally gave me the data I requested, but the issue still has not been resolved.

I'm complaining today because this process has been physically draining and is causing me to be mentally unstable. The issues that I've experienced are the following:

1. An advertisement misrepresenting the service

2. An advertising term the seller will not honor

3. Failure to honor an agreement

4. Customer service failed to provide proper assistance

5. A sales presentation with unethical sales practices

6. An unreasonable or excessive delay in completing service

7. An improper or inferior serviceDesired Settlement: The Settlement I'm requesting is a years hosting service and proper, honest, dependable technical support for a full year at $161.88 . I would like for the Revdex.com to note this information for later access.

Response:

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,

Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant. We have reviewed this matter and would like to present the following.

The complainant agreed to the following agreements upon conducting business with Wild West Domains:

• Universal Terms of Service Agreement

• Web Hosting and Virtual Private Hosting Service Agreement (Hosting Agreement)

The latest versions of these agreements can be found at:

Contrary to the complainant’s understanding, [redacted] is not a subsidiary of Wild West Domains, but rather a reseller of services for Wild West Domains.

As stated in the Hosting Agreement that the complainant acknowledged and agreed to, the complainant is solely responsible for providing, updating, uploading, and maintaining their site. The application that they are utilizing for their website, “WordPress”, was not created by Wild West Domains therefore we can only offer very limited assistance with its configuration.

RESOLUTION:

Wild West Domains upheld its agreements with the complainant and honored its terms of service in good faith. Our hosting service worked properly and as expected.

It is the complainant’s responsibility to perform their own due diligence about cross platform configuration for their party software they choose to utilize. As a one-time gesture of goodwill we have added a free year of hosting service to the complainant at no charge which is equivalent to their refund request. Their feedback will be shared with our customer care managers to address any service improvement opportunities that may exist.

Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant.
