It is surprising that an owner of window world would provide misleading and representation regarding the subject property window capping. Responding in order to Window Worlds comments in order are as follows:
1: The sealant is missing on top on the north windowAgain, as noted, the Window World Representative provided the quotation, he inspected the jobsite.(interior and exterior). Having an excuse of there is no J-channel around the windows to meet with the siding is an excuse to professionally take the time to properly cap the windows, as quoted. On homes built during this era, j-channel was not developed yet. I have had others jobs, in the past, where window contractors utilize a trim saw around the periphery of the wood trim to allow for the professional installation of capping material to the face of the house; not to the outer most part of the siding whereby leaving approximately 7/16" of wood exposed on the woods surface(then hide the inferior work with caulking). Two weeks ago, on *** *** in ***, OH., I had a whole house quoted for window replacement, having similar construction, The owner of the window company was shown the photos of your installation and was flabbergasted on what your company was doing to clients. This window company did confirm that on older homes with aluminum siding extending to the wood frames that they do indeed use a trim saw around the wood frame perimeter to permit the proper installation of the capping materialThere is only one way to install the capping properly on this and that is having the proper tools and knowledge to do so, as stated
The large gaps on the corners of the windows were measured as high as 1/2" in some areas. Photos were taken and shown to window world. To hide a botched job, with caulking, is an insult to my intelligence and is poor business ethics. There was no communication issueJust an attempt to not to fulfill a contract in professionally capping window trim.
3. The crooked trim is on the bottom of the east window seal whereby leaving approximate 3/8" to 7/16" unprotected gaps. No hidden with an excessive amount of caulking. The caulking is not sticking to the siding in some areas(because dust/dirt was not wiped away prior to applying the sealant) and as shown in the photos there are areas of wood showing. Everybody knows that nothing sticks to dirtThe interior of the windows was properly addressed; not the exterior
As noted, I was indeed sold a "Bill of Good" because this issue would have been rectified during the second visit. Their comments to my tenant, as well as the comment in your response regarding no J-channel, Old caulking, and siding too close to window trim (from the installers the 2nd time), are all scenarios that a window company handles on a day to day basis; not making excuses why you cannot perform a professional installation as your competitors do.
Quite honestly, when people spend more time making excuses why they cannot do a professional job as quoted, their business opportunities will decline. This is the position in which you have put me in today. You cannot perform the job of properly installing window capping; yet, you want me to take another day of my time off and travel miles R/T for you to tell me that I now know that although you offer good window, you simply cannot provide a professional installation. I do not need the aggravation. I do not need your crew on the residence to disturb my tenant another time. As previously noted, subtract of the capping fees, and I will pay the balance of the invoice.

First of all, our balance with them is not even accurate! Our original purchase was $ We paid $on date we orderedThey (Kelly in installation) gave us $*** credit after the first rescheduleGiving us a balance of $On final installation date of Drc 1st we paid $***with check #that cleared our bank on 12/5/Leaving a balance of $***Where is he getting his totals from I have NO IDEA!! Accounting as good as Customer Service and the ONLY communication that has been made since I spoke with *** *** on 11/29/was on April 2, when he sent an EMAIL with in inaccurate balance!!This also does not address the lack of customer service issues, unreturned calls, the significantly higher utility bills we incurred for weeks while windows in our bedrooms were left with 1.5-2” gaps, lost wages for days off work for the cancelled install dates-that were cancelled at LAST MINUTE, the stress we have endured I have attached photos that were emailed to *** to show payments that fo NOT equal is balance!

I cannot accept this until the window job is finally downThere has been no offer of compensation for the multiple days we have dedicated to this or the frustration we have dealt withAlso he may be unaware but because of the lack of communication the frond door order was cancelled after his company requested to come and measure for the door again after we were told it was orderedSo we were lied to and the door was never ordered and we had placed $*** deposit for that

There was been no offer of compensation for the time we have wasted with this company

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First of all *** is saying that you loose 3/inches per side and I would of been very happy with that I lost inches on both sides so that is inches not inches .I was never told that I will loose inches of glass When they bring the sample window in to show you I saw the 3/inches I was going to loose I was fine with that but no one said I will loose inches of glass not 6 When *** was here he did say they look bad He also said that if I was told how much glass I was loosing I probably wouldn't of bought the windows That was his exact words my husband and I both heard him say Sure he is going to say he did not say anything now He was here for an hour looking at the job and talking to us He did say the installer did a good job but he said he thought they looked bad He said we had a very nice house and the windows look bad .His words not mine it really up sets me that he has to lie now This is the salesman mistake he never told me they don't take out the frame they were only taking out the glass and covering up the frame I would of never bought them if I was told this This is why I am really mad about the job I am not letting this go and if I have to get a lawyer to help me get this settled I will I feel I was only told what I wanted to hear to make a sale not the truth It is a sad world that people don't care any more about what is right and wrong and this job is wrong they should of walked away and they did not .[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Regards,*** ***

Windows have been installed on 12-31-Customer has signed completion certificateCustomer found that screen had a tear in it after installers had leftWe will fix all screens that have gotten torn for any reason for the life of the windowsThe offer to do this extends to a customer
bringing us the screen and there will be no charge for the repairIn this case we will send out our service tech to the home to replace the torn screen and is scheduled for 1-2-at about 5:pmI am sorry that the windows took a while longer to install than the customer and our company would have liked but we are committed to quality workWe don't hire just anyone to install our products to have problems down the roadWe are here for our customers now and in the future for anything they needI will be sending customer $*** and my apologies for the delays and unfortunate position we both were put in for the installers vehicle issues

Store manager *** *** visited the customer the day after cancellation and offered the customer $*** to compensate for the time spent preparing the houseWe later offered an additional $*** creditIn total, we are crediting the customer $***This is over and above what our contract statesThe
project is complete, and there are no additional issues with the product that we are aware of to be addressedWe have been attempting to reach the customer to take care of the $*** balance owed on the completed project, which reflects the $*** total credit

1/7/2016When we replace old Anderson wood casement windows the main frame stays into the openingWe replaced her old wood casements with new vinyl double hung windows.
From where her old frame is to where the glass begins she does loose 3/4" before the glass begins
on the width on each side
If we would have installed vinyl casements she would have lost a lot more glassOur vinyl window is a lower profile which means she looses the least amount of glass with our replacement windows then other companies use
She had some windows done at her rental property but they were old wood pocket windows and the vinyl frame did set back further into the pocketOn anderson casement windows they do shrink the size of the opening with their wider main frame
I'm sorry her install took longer than expected.
Our serivice manager, *** ***, went out and looked at the job and he said it was a good install and looked greatHe did not tell the customer anything different
There is nothing we could have done different in replacing her old windows with new vinyl replacement windows

placed and upon our re-measure, we should have advised the customer that this was a commercial

customer...We have issued our ck#***, on Oct. 22,2014, in the amount of $*** to cover the deposit that we
accepted on 8/12...this check cleared our bank on Oct28,

The customer has been contacted and is scheduled to have all work completed 5/12/
