in early June we called our internet company, Windstream online to increase our speed from mb to mbthey told us our bill would go up by $14-18/monthWe got our new bill and it has not gone up by $or $18, but by $30! I called them back and they said "in order to increase your speed you needed to get a new modem (Which required a "Rental Fee" of $6.99/month) and include long distance service in your plan" We believe this to be deceptive advertizingIf there were another company in the area we would switch!

I'm very upset with WindstreamI've been trying to get internet service for over a year now out in Science Hilldays of work has been missedA total of modems have been sent and still no internet! A technician stood us up the first visitApparently, he was unable to find our residenceSomehow on the second attempt to hook us up, they managed to hook up the wrong residenceThe third attempt, they came out to hook us up and told us we needed a phone line run and would be in touch, which they were notThe 4th attempt, they managed to run the line we needed but their big truck tore up our yard, breaking our stepping stonesHowever, we were connectedFor a whole weeks! Windstream neglected to tell us there would be a $fee for running the line so we were not only surprised by the bill, but unable to pay until we had the extra money! After income tax came, we called to pay and reorder serviceSomehow, we owed over $400, which we only made a partial payment on; and they promised to turn us back onThen, they stood us up again so we called dish to get satellite internet through them; and cancelled our order with Windstream since we couldn't afford to keep missing workIt turns out that Dish quoted us $for cable and Internet, but it was really $just for cable, no internetAnd dish would have to go through WINDSTREAM to give us internetIf I would have known we didn't need the cable to get the Internet, I wouldn't have orderedAgain, we never heard back from Windstream!! So we reordered because they were our only optionWe missed work again only for Windstream to show up and leave, griping over our address being Somerset and not Science HillWe live in Science HillHere I sitNo internet, owing over $for the weeks of service we did get and I'm very displeased and disappointedI see we don't matter thoughThere's no competitionI'm homeschooling and desperately need internet at home and am having the time of my life being inconveniencedI wish another company would come to Somerset that treated their customers with valueShame on you, WindstreamThe way I see it, Windstream owes me!! Please advise?

I did not want to have Windstream as my internet provider, but my family moved to a new house in an area where we had no choice as they were the only providers for the areaI had had a previous bad experience with them (long story short, I was out $to have them tell me they did not service the apartment complex I was living in at the time and did not get reimbursed my money)I received internet service from AT&T with no issues whatsoeverWhat they said I owed each month when I first spoke to a sales rep was exactly what I paid each month Unfortunately, not the case with WindstreamNaturally, it started off as a bad experience as I was needing internet ASAP for workI work Tuesday - Friday and could not take off work for someone to come by and get everything set upI received an e-mail saying that days from receiving the e-mail someone would be byI had to work so I called them to see if they could come by sooner than thatNopeThat was their only day unless I wanted to wait another weekI use internet for work so this was out of the questionIt was frustrating trying to deal with this when I only had a day warningPlease send out scheduled times sooner than days beforehand so we can make arrangements accordingly Next, I went online to pay my bill and hello, sticker shock$for internet and cable? Not what I had been toldI was told the pricing for the wireless internet and the cable and the modem rental (yes, that's ridiculous too! I already have a modem, but of course, they can't use it since it's not a Windstream one.) I was expecting the total for the month to be somewhere in the $rangeLooking at the bill, there is over $in extra charges and taxes that was not explained to me when I agreed to use WindstreamI call to see what is going on with thisThe lady helping me, although super nice about the situation, explained that the extra fees and charges go along with the phone service (which you have to have if you plan on using wireless internet, however we just use our cell phones)Great, an extra $for something we aren't using All in all, Windstream seems as if they are out to get you with hidden fees and surchargesThey lock you into a year contract and the customer can expect to see the fees add up on their billVery disappointingI would never have used Windstream if I had a choice, and if you do have a choice, stay far away! The only positive I see with them is that their employees are very nice and courteous, however it does not make up for the fact that I am out $for the month

They advertise a standard internet connection of 6Mbps, yet most of the time we never go over Even when we have high speed internet our connection would slow to a halt few times a day for no reason, and when we complain they blame usI have to use my cell phone data to even write this reviewThey clearly falsely advertise their sub-par service as one of the best, when this is by far the worst ISP I've ever used

Our internet has not been working for three months nowI called for them to send someone out to fix itBut since my husband's name is on the account they refuse to send someone out to our house to fix the problemMy husband works all the time and he does not have the time to callI will not be paying for something that I can not even useIt's not like I'm changing anything on the accountAll I wanted is for someone to come to the house and fix their mess!!

I have had Windstream for my landline and Internet for several years and it's terribleOur internet is out at least once a weekI have called and complained and asked for my bill to be credited many times and that never happensI think it's ridiculous to pay $a month and not get the service you pay for

For over ten years I've had Windstream phone and Internet service and been having issues from email not working pages not loading and Windstream home page most,of the time nothing will work if you click on itWant to watch a clip about a news release spots ect it will not load This becomes very upsetting when you pay for a service and don't get what you have purchasedWhen you call to get matters resolved it's always I'm sorry sir but because of this is whyThe problem is on ther side I wish they would fix all ther issuesI would change but Windstream is the only game in town I can getWhen I first moved to the location I'm at our phone service was really badI think two cups and a string would have worked better and this is no jokeIt took me almost a year to get them to fix the problem and it was on there endThe service tech that would come to the house would always say it's the houseI have a service plan so they checked all my phone jacks ect and all checked goodIt took me writing a letter to the CEO of Windstream and called me one day and told me he was sending a man out to resolve all my issuesThree months later the where digging up the ground down along the road to fix the phone lineBut the internet problems are still hereMy speed runs at about percent most of the time and the whole internet package is very bad Please helpMrDale [redacted]

Worst customer service and pricing I have ever experiencedCalled twice if not three times a day for a week straight and received nothing but over minute wait times and then was cold transferred to multiple queuesI was trying to pay a bill and didn't have 30minutes+ to waitService was suspended and I asked for an on demand disconnect and the rep was beyond rude and rather than explain policy she sent me to another rep where I waited another minutes and told they will not do an on demand nor prorate, but wanted me to pay for service for another weeks even when they already suspended and disconnected my lineMy bill is doubled monthly solely off of their hidden fees and I will never use them as my provider again

Would never get or have Windstream againWas told internet would be up and running a week ago with a phone call.but nope nothing when I call them it's a different time and day but stillbjave to pay for it

I work for a small but profitable and well known business here in Grayson, Kentucky wherein frequently we are contacted by sales peopleThe call from Windstream trying to sell us space in the Yellow pages this morning was the last strawAfter telling the lady that my boss was not interested (because this is exactly what he has told his staff and also the gentleman from Windstream that came in here to meet with him directly sometime in the past year about the same thing) she wanted to speak with my bossHe does not want to speak to sales people and after I told her again, that he is not interested she persistedFinally she just said she would call back another time and speak to him directly and hung up on meThe gentleman that came in to speak with him directly was also very rude as well, when my boss finally relented to a small adWhere has professional courtesy gone and how many times can you tell someone no before they will listen and respect your answerWe at this office do not do anything that our boss does not authorizeWe actually fear losing our jobs unlike apparently some sales people that think that rudeness is acceptable

Pay a monthly fee of $for "up to" 25mbps download speed on internet Only get on average around 5mbps or 6mbps Being charged $for "enhanced speed" of anything over 6mbps Windstream will not credit my account for the $or credit my account for the low speed Neighborhood outages occur at least 1x per month If the outage is not for over hours, they will not credit your account for the outage

I am a disabled Viet Nam Vet and have windstream communications or phone service when it worksWe have had numerous outages from time to time it seems like it takes forever to get it repairedWhen you email them and that seems like the only way I can get hold of them it takes forever for them to respond for the phone is out and can't call themI can not use a cell phone for there is no fax on it so my one and only method is Windstream and that is hard to do when the phone is out and when it is out it takes them two to four days to repairI also need this to call in my Medlist to the VA and as of now I can not do thatYou can never talk to a live person eitherPoor customer relations

Since I have applied for a Windstream account I have had nothing but trouble with my servicesIncluding the first week that I have applied, I did not receive internet service for four days after I set up my accountWhen I was told I would have service the following day I had to wait almost a week for my internet to start working and was still charged for those days I did not have accessAfter I was told I would have Mbps for 69.99/month plus taxes, I called Windstream technical support the following week after my service had finally been activated because I continued to be kicked off of the Internet and [redacted] for a total of timesMyself, thinking I shouldn't have any problems because I was supposedly receiving Mbps, but when I finally got on the phone with a representative after waiting for minutes, [redacted] the representative, tells me I am only receiving Mbps even though I was TOLD I would have Mbps when I signed up for the serviceAfter getting mouthy and talking out of tone and unprofessionally towards me because she heard my fiancé getting upset in the back ground, she hung up on the callI immediately called back and another representative named [redacted] answered, she ended up telling me she didn't know how to fix or help my situation, I asked to speak to a manager and she hung up as wellIn total I have spent over hours on the telephone support line trying to receive some sort of help/assistance on how I could fix the situation and none of the several reps I spoke to could do nothing or didn't know how toMy overall experience with this service is pitiful, not one person at Windstream Tech Support knows how to do their job, and their prices are outrageous for the very poor service they provide and I wish I would have never signed up for itI do not recommend this service for anyone who does not want to get taken advantage of

My recent experience with Windstream in Iowa is either they can't place a change order at all or the promised date of the change comes and goes with nothing but a phone call saying it will be done two weeks laterI've heard others say it's been a month and counting It's a monopoly, so what can we do besides class action, which probably won't solve the actual problem

Windstream's broad band service is a complete and utter joke we live in the country so we are trapped having to use windstreams ridiculous so called "high speed internet"it has been days since it has been fixed, (days ago they told me it would be resolved in several hours) internet service Which basically affects all avenues of life, as the majority of things we use now require internet accessthis is not the first time we have had issues, atleast to times a year we go thru this with Windstream ***please note I do not use windstreams email because it is the absolute worse and less than user friendly

I have been dealing with windstorm for years and I know their protocol for problemsOver the few months our service has fallen in our community to the point many are leaving for SHOUT broadband or another wireless companyMy neighbor recently called to cancel and they offered her $a month off her bill to stayWe have called these guys times only for them to waste our timeThe first time the tried to tell me we are getting 3Mbps but I told him I was on speediest.net and it said Mbps so they put us on hold for over minutes and we finally gave upThe next my wife talked to someone and a tech came outHe said that we were getting the 1.5MBps that we are supposed to be gettingI admit it was better than we were getting but we pay for 3MbpsHe says the paper work say differentSo my wife calls and the person says she can see we are getting 3Mbps then My wife told her the tech tested the lines and he said we are getting MbpsSo she had my wive go though a bunch of test on the modem and said she was going to have to talk to another techInstead of getting a tech she gets hung up onWe are a small home run business and time is money and they have waste hours of our time and we have had to use our cell phones to get anything doneSo I get on the phone and after minutes I get someone onlineI tried to tell her we have already gone through all the steps and instead of wasting more of my time to go ahead and transfer meDidn't happen SO I told her to set us up for disconnect I was moving my businessYes I was mad and told her so because of the waste of time it has beenYes I cussed her out not just because of the fact she wouldn't transfer me but because the company as a whole is full of incompetent people
