A review of our records shows that we suspended two payments for Ms. [redacted] in October of 2013.  In addition, her account is currently behind one payment.  Upon her payment of the two payments we suspended in an effort to assist her last year, and the one payment she is past due, I will write off the remaining balance due and cancel the remainder of her membership.  This will require a payment of $247.14 to her account.  Upon her payment we will write off the remaining $991.80.  This is not a contractual right on her part, but a good faith effort on our part to find a fair and reasonable resolution to this issue.
If Ms. [redacted] would like to accept my offer of compromise, she must contact me to let me know so I may send her a settlement letter.

Our 3 day right to cancel a contract is written clearly and concisely and we have each new member initial that they have read and understand the...

policy.  There is nothing in the policy that would lead a client to believe that a letter of cancellation must reach us by midnight of the third day.  It simply states that the notice must be mailed or delivered during this time frame.  Any customer who mails a  letter and it is postmarked by midnight of the third day will receive a 100% refund of their membership fee 100% of the time.  We do not count Sunday's or any holiday in which the post office is closed towards the three days.  If Ms. [redacted] had any questions about cancellation she simply needed to ask and we would have answered her questions at that point in time.We would like to assure Ms. [redacted] that overall client satisfaction has always most important. We have been in business for over 30 years and pride ourselves on being honest and ethical. While we can not control the outcome of our client's membership, we put forth great effort in creating an environment for opportunities of success including a professional matchmaker, the opportunity to provide feedback and a vetting process for like minded singles.
In an effort to ensure client satisfaction, we allow each client the opportunity to approve or decline any match presented to them. As it states in our paperwork, a match only counts when both parties approve the match. Since joining on November 12, 2015, Ms. [redacted] has declined four of the matches presented to her for a variety of reasons. She has accepted three matches and each time has provided the important feedback needed to learn more about her preferences.
Our membership packages are dependent on a client's relationship goals. Ms. [redacted] elected to enter into a contract consisting of four months of matchmaking time, called a "trial" membership. With this very limited time, Ms. [redacted]'s personal matchmaking team has worked hard on her behalf.  We also empower our staff to go above and beyond our contractual obligations by continuing to work on our client's behalf even after their initial member term expires, free of charge.  If we need to add a couple of additional introductions to Ms. [redacted]'s membership when it ends, we will certainly do so.  It is our goal to ensure we have done everything in our power to provide our clients with the best customer service possible.
On February 29, Ms. [redacted] was presented with a match that was educated, professional, in shape and that she agreed "sounded better than the others", but ended up declining the match because she was "too busy".
We would like to work with Ms. [redacted] and assist her with any reservations she has about her membership. Unfortunately, her membership is not eligible for cancellation or refund at this time. We will contact her again with the hopes of being able to move forward with providing her with the remainder of her introductions.

We received Mr. [redacted] letter of cancellation on 12/8.  He initiated a chargeback through his credit card company on 12/11 which we accepted since he was due a refund anyway.  I would suggest that Mr. [redacted] contact his credit card company to check on the status of his funds instead...

of assuming we are "not on the up and up".  We run an honest and ethical company.  Every person who submits a letter of cancellation as specified in the contract receives a full refund within 10 days of our receipt of the letter.  In this case, the money was taken from our account through a chargeback only three days after we received his letter, so no refund was necessary.Mr. [redacted] was given one phone number to our matchmaking department.  It is staffed 9 hours per day from noon to 9 pm CST six days per week with a staff of 17 people.  If Mr. [redacted] was unable to reach someone it is because he was either calling before we opened, after we closed, or on Sunday or a holiday.
This complaint is in no way a legitimate complaint.  Had Mr. [redacted] simply given us a few days to issue his refund this would have been a simple process.  Instead, he decided to go through the more complicated chargeback process without even giving us the chance to issue his contractual refund.  As the money was taken from our account on 12/11 by his credit card company, our contractual obligations have been met.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
Regards,
[redacted]
Hello,
I am not going to get into an argument over how things should have happened. The facts are: No credit has been issued to my credit card as I have been in contact with the company and nothing whatsoever has come through because by law they are required to inform me the minute it does. Second, the manager of the Middleton office told Luna that they have 30 days to refund my money, and I pointed out that their own contract says 21 days. As it stands nothing has come through and I was informed by Luna that the only way to cancel my membership was in writing, not verbal, to the business in Oklahoma which I did. Perhaps the merchant can double check their records to see where the money may have been reimbursed to, as it was not posted back to the credit card company. Lastly, before I even had my appointment I was contacted by a person who, each time she left me a message, gave me a different number to call. When I tried calling back, during business hours, either the call would not go through or there would be no answer. Had I been told by the office in Middleton that I could expedite the process by calling the branch in OK.,I surely would have done so. I just want this matter to be worked out and we can all go on our separate ways.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I've attached a copy of the chargeback intituted by Mr. [redacted] as well as my acceptance of the chargeback on 12/16.  I have no way to intervene with his bank to find out why they have not credited his account.  His bank pulled the money from us on 12/11 and I accepted the chargeback on 12/16.  There is nothing more I can do.

We deal with imperfect people and their personal lives which makes for an imperfect system.   We are searching for two imperfect people who are perfect for one another.  We have a staff of imperfect people working for us as well.  We have been matching imperfect people for 36 years, and know that there is no perfect system.  I agree that there is always room for improvement with our service, and we work daily with our staff to improve our service.  We will continue to work for this client to help her find the perfect outcome.
We are clear and concise in our refund policy.  We place it on the face of the contract and have every client initial that they have read it.  Anyone who doesn't like our policy may simply elect not to join our service.
We look forward to continuing our journey with this client and hope she can one day be one of our success stories.

I had a 90 min. free meeting with sales associate [redacted] at the Madison office of Wisconsin Singles. He was hard selling me on their dating service for most of meeting, wouldn't tell me about their pricing structure until the end of the session and was evasive when I asked specific data related questions about their success rate.
At the end of the meeting he told me that their base fee for the dating service was $2,500 for 8 matches. I was given the option to finance this amount over 24 months at a 12% interest rate. I told him I thought this was a lot of money. At this point in the meeting, the tone became decidedly hostile.
Dave made the following statements to me:
1. It's not a lot of money, you're paying for your next husband or partner.
2. These men are paying a lot of money for you.
3. We don't finance men, only women.
4. There are men who are paying a lot more money than that to meet you, some up to $7,000.
I told Dave that I would need some time to decide whether or not I wanted to use their service. He then told me that he would offer me a deal for $2,200, but that I would need to sign up then and there. When I said I wanted to think about it he became more hostile and said "Oh, you won't some back, no one does." When it became apparent to him that I was not going to sign up, he became rude. There was an information folder lying on the desk and when I reached to pick it up he said "No, no. Those are for people that sign up."
Dave refused to give answers to following questions I asked during the meeting:
1. What happens if I pay $2,500 to the company and don't find a match after 8 tries?
2. What are the additional services people receive when they pay more money?
3. How many people do you have in your membership database?
4. What percentage of your clients are you able to match successfully?
Overall I felt this business employed harsh sales tactics and suspect they may be inflating the perception of their success rate to prey on people who are desperate, convincing them to enter into a high interest loan or pay out cash.

We apologize for any form of miscommunication Ms. [redacted] may have experienced. We will work with our team to pin point any possible ways to improve our service in this specific scenario.
As planned, Ms. [redacted] personal matchmaker reached out to her to review the most recent match selection. Ms. [redacted] accepted her third introduction on July 5. We feel confident that we can move forward in a positive manor and are hopeful that we can assist Ms. [redacted] in her relationship goals.
