I am rejecting this response because: Thank you for your responseThe issue I'm having is we aren't the ones who have been actively seeking feedback from our clientsThis is feedback from previous customers who wanted to leave comments describing their experience and were prevented from doing soEvery time we have spoken to a rep from Yelp we were made to feel as though we were be blamed for doing something wrongI've personally been asked by many companies after receiving a service to please leave a review on Yelp however that is not what we have ever doneSo if your website is intended for the community to be able to share their experience, why have every single person been prevented from doing so with our company? I could understand if a few comments were prevented from being posted but your company has prevented all of the comments from being posted which isn't fair Given I work for a company that deals with delicate issues with Seniors and their family members, it means a great deal if a past client wants to share their experienceSo when I receive a call from a client asking why they are not able to leave feedback, what am I exactly suppose to tell them? I have already suggested having one of their family members who uses Yelp on a more frequent basis leave the feedback and that a suggestion from a Yelp repEven that didn't helpI was always a big fan of Yelp, but after this experience it makes me question whether or not I can really trust the service

Hi Stephen,Thank you for writingWe are glad to have this opportunity to address your concerns regarding your business page for Thayercraft Industries. You expressed concern with a reviewIt looks like you are referring to the review by Arnold BWe wanted to let you know we've removed the

You'll find plenty of Yelp advertisers with negative reviews, and plenty of non-advertisers with five-star ratings across the boardFurthermore, there is zero relationship between the timing of when a review gets recommended and when a business decides to--or declines to--advertiseReviews can be recommended or not recommended days, weeks, or even months after they were first posted, and a Yelp sales representative doesn't have any influence over when that might happen. Hi ***,Thank you for writing back.It sounds as though you don't accept our explanation of the recommendation software, but we can only stand by our previous statementsYelp's recommendation software is an automated algorithm that attempts to weed out less reliable reviews while showcasing more reliable onesThis means that when reviews are posted to your listing, not all of them will make the cutWe acknowledge that it is not a perfect system and that even some legitimate reviews will not be recommended, but we still believe that the software as a whole makes our site more trustworthy and useful to consumers. As indicated in our prior response, the recommendation software is automated to help avoid the potential for human bias inherent in individual decision-making: we cannot reverse the software’s decisions, either to suppress an active review or to restore one that isn’t recommendedBut once again, the system is not static -- reviews may come and go as the recommendation software picks up new information. With regards to your request, "If you are not able to post all comments then I am asking you to remove all of the comments," please note that we do not have the option for businesses to opt out of reviews. We do understand the recommendation software can be frustrating at times, and your feedback is appreciatedWhen it comes down to it, all review sites face the same challenge: how to identify fake reviews among the many millions of legitimate reviewsIt's no easy task, and there is always room for improvementWe hope to be able to continually improve on this issue.Regards,***Yelp Inc

Hi ***,Thank you for writing again. You wrote, "If your software considers favorable responses from patients biased then your computer should be blocking every favorable response." We want to be clear that the recommendation software looks at dozens of different signals, including various measures of quality, reliability, and activity on Yelp, when determining whether or not to recommend a reviewSome reviews that are not currently recommended may be real reviews from real customers who we just don't know much about and therefore can't recommend. With regards to your comment, "I am quite sure we lost our stars due to complaints from your other hearing aid customers listed due to our highly competitive pricing that is driving the market towards *** ***I know two that are highly ranked by your company that would be apt to do that," please be assured that there is no relationship between reviews and anything having to do with Yelp Ads or the Yelp Ads sales processThere’s no amount of money a business can pay to manipulate their reviews or rating and Yelp doesn’t skew things in favor of advertisers or against businesses that don’t.You also wrote, "Until either *** *** is completely removed or our star rating is again displayed I am going to look for ways to expose your company's egregious activities." We want to reiterate that because our recommendation software is automated, the Yelp Support team cannot manually override the software to recommend or not recommend a reviewWith regards to your request that your business listing be removed, as previously stated, we don't remove business listing informationYelp is allowed to publish business names and publicly available information about businesses under the well-established fair use doctrine, as well as First Amendment principlesGenerally speaking, this means that we can display business names and trademarks "for purposes of comparison, criticism, point of reference, or any other such purpose." Hi ***,
Thank you for writingWe are glad to have this opportunity to address your concerns regarding your business page for *** *** Productions
You expressed concern that *** N's review was not appearing on your business pageIt
looks like this user had posted her review to a duplicate page for your business, so we've gone ahead and merged the business pages: http://www.yelp.com/biz/***Additionally, it appears that this user's review is currently recommended by our recommendation softwareOur recommendation software runs on a daily basis, so the results can change day-to-dayReviews may become recommended or not recommended over time as the system continues to make decisions based on a variety of factors
With regards to your concern with a negative review, the review by *** A has been evaluated by the Yelp Support team and left up, as it was not found to be in violation of our guidelinesYou claim that "the content was found to be untrue"; however, Yelp does not take sides in factual disputesRather, if a review appears to reflect the personal experience and opinions of the reviewer, it is our policy to allow the user to stand by his/her review
You might consider sending a private message to the reviewer or posting a public comment through your free business accountMany reviewers respond favorably to business owners willing to engage in constructive conversation, and at the very least, other Yelp users appreciate seeing business owners take a proactive approach to dealing with customer concernsOur hope is that by utilizing these means you will be able to rectify any misunderstandings and come to an amicable resolution

You also wrote, "I have been asking people who use my services to post reviews." Please note asking for reviews is not something we encourageFor one thing, most businesses tend to ask their happiest customers to write reviews, not the unhappy onesThese self-selected reviews tell only part of the story, and we don't think that's fair to consumersWe would much rather hear from members of the Yelp community who are inspired to talk about their experiences without a business owner's encouragementMore information can be found here: https://biz.yelp.com/support/review_solicitation
It's important to note that Yelp uses automated software to showcase helpful and reliable reviews from the Yelp communityAs a result, you shouldn't be surprised if our software fails to recommend the reviews that you've asked your customers to writeYour best bet to get high quality and unbiased reviews about your business is to provide a memorable and amazing customer experience - it has nothing to do with asking your customers to post on Yelp

Hi ***,Thank you for writing, we are glad to have this opportunity to address your concerns regarding your advertising program for *** *** ***We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your advertising campaignTo be clear, while the goal of advertising on Yelp is to drive more
traffic to the business page, which may ultimately result in more customers, it is important to keep in mind that results are not guaranteed. You expressed concern with the pricing of your advertising programTo clarify, you signed up for an advertising program with $monthly fixed costs plus up to $monthly variable costs, for a monthly maximum of $The monthly fixed costs were for your featured video and enhanced profile, which included features such as competitor ad removal and a photo slideshowYour advertising package included a cost per click (CPC) program and your monthly cost per click budget cap was set at $275, which means you were charged when someone clicked on your ad and you agreed to pay up to $a month for those ad clicksIf you did not reach your monthly budget cap, you would be charged for the ad clicks you receivedHowever, if you did reach your monthly budget cap, we no longer delivered ads for your business for the remainder of the month so that you wouldn't have to pay more than you agreed to.We also want to address your comment, "I have requested on more than one occasion in writing via email that my account be closed and my contract terminated and Yelp has continued to bill me for the last months, bringing my bill up to an outstanding $with no action taken to provide me with cancellation paperwork to stop these outlandish charges from accumulating." Per the terms of your advertising agreement, we require days written notice to your account management contact if you wish to terminate your advertising programOur records indicate that our account management team received a cancellation request from you in October, and that your advertising program was terminated on October 31, due to non-paymentThat said, we have forwarded your message to the appropriate parties for their consideration.Regards,***Yelp Inc

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The above mentioned individual has never been a client of our businessI want Yelp to uphold their policy in place that an ex-employee cannot review an ex-employer!!
Here is the policy by Yelp in print: Can I report a review if I think it was posted by a former employee? Former employees aren't allowed to review their former employers, so if you see a questionable review, please report itPlease note that our moderators will only remove a review if it was clearly posted by a former employeeIt usually isn't enough to say that you don't recognize the reviewer or that it looks suspicious, so please let us know if you have specific evidence about who wrote the reviewPlease also keep in mind that we use automated software to determine which reviews to recommend to our users, so even if our moderators do not remove the review, our software may separately determine that the review isn't useful or reliable enough to show to our usersBusiness owners should also feel free to use their business accounts to publicly or privately respond to any inaccuracies in the review
Please remove the inaccurate statement by this disgruntled ex-employee as per your policy

"Former employees aren't allowed to review their former employers, so if you see a questionable review, please report it

Please also keep in mind that we use automated software to determine which reviews to recommend to our users, so even if our moderators do not remove the review, our software may separately determine that the review isn't useful or reliable enough to show to our users
Business owners should also feel free to use their business accounts to publicly or privately respond to any inaccuracies in the review."
What is required by you as proof that this person was an ex-employee and never a client?
The reviewer, "*** D" doesn't have personal experience as she was never a client, only an employee of our business
Does Yelp hold to their policies or is it on a case by case basis?
