Review: Purchased a Zero Technologies Zero Water filtration device from [redacted] approximately 45-60 days ago. Worked appropriately (I believe) until yesterday. Mixed filtered water with concentrated juice to drink, didn't taste right. Subsequently tasted the water, and the water tasted acidic and lemony. Cleaned pitcher, re-filtered water and same result. Several hours later and through the next day had extreme headaches and discomfort. Looked online to see if isolated incident, and there are dozens and dozens of related complaints with the same cause and effect. Called Zero Water customer service, CSR insisted I must have the flu and that they have not heard of this situation before now. Was told that it was not the water and there were no existing issues. Asked what knowledge base this information came from and was rudely told it was common sense. Asked to speak with supervisor and was wordlessly transferred to a voicemail service in which I illuminated the aforementioned. Extremely dissatisfied and feel very ill. Tried to return to the [redacted] from which it was purchased and was unable. Asked CSR what recourse I had and was told none.Desired Settlement: Would like an explanation for the taste and symptoms I experienced as well as a sincere apology for the customer service I received. Appalled that there is not more standardization or regulation of water filter devices that would have prevented or defined this issue.

Review: Total inconsistency of product performance. Water filters not meeting expected performance reported by customer service. one filter will filter 1 gal of water, another will produce 2 gallons, next filter 1 1/2 gal. All filters coming from same shipment from Zero water. Promised call tags to be mailed to me.. to return 12 filters...waiting over a month now. Not permitted to speak to a supervisor. Cannot get a supervisors name...Left several msgs.. over a month... not 1 call back. To bad... good tasting water... when it works... tooo much aggravation.. Back to [redacted]..Desired Settlement: Just send the call tag as promised. Refund C Card.

Review: Information papers that comes with every pack of 4 filters. I purchased 12 filters and was wondering how this new filter design was going to pan out. The old filters I had no issues with and they lasted a good bit. These new filters that state they "employ a more consistent flow design" Is wrong so far 3 out of 8 filters that I used, The bad ones have extremely slow flow rates, and I still have 4 left. I called zero water and I was told I need to modify the filters with holes and tapping and shaking in order to get "the flow-rate from the filter will remain consistent from the first pour until it is time to change filters." Is there any way to get them to replace or refund. The customer service sent me coupons that if you google "zero water coupons" anybody can get. I feel that they know they are selling a sub-standard product that requires additional modification to work correctly. I have the message from zero water that came with the new filter design package. I can email you that backs up my quoted sentences on what they claim for the new filter design.Desired Settlement: Refund of the filters I purchased to buy a water filter system that does not require modification. If my statement's integrity is in question, please feel free to contact there customer service line and bring up the complaint that the filter takes forever to fill up the container. This will prove that there new design is flawed and there message with the new filters is wrong at least for me 3 of 8 filters had this issue, and I still have 4 new.

Buyer BE WARNED
I wish I'd known about the many complaints about customer service prior to my purchase. Customers Who tried to get issues like: fishy smelling/[redacted] tasting ZeroWater addressed and also others like me who were trying to get a tester that actually worked. Did you know if you buy the product you need to pay more if you want an actual water quality tester to have a digital read out. Otherwise buy an upgraded version if yours doesn't work. All their packaging and media hype refers to being able to know TDS in water not just whether their test has a light that lights up when TDS is present. It the tester doesn't work at all as is the nonworking cheap version, they won't replace it. I was told to return to the retailer for a refund. How that'll work is not likely as I no longer have the product packaging though I did fortunately keep the receipt. ZeroWater did NOT wish to make any effort to address providing a tester that actually works. Their precise comment: "you can go purchase an upgrade for $10 and change (likely with shipping charges additional).
Strongly recommend NOT PURCHASING THEIR PRODUCTS. Unless you take time to read consumer complaints there are over 600. Wish I hadn't I feel very scammed.

Review: ZeroWater has a recycling program where you send in your old water filter in exchange for coupons off your next order. I never received my coupons after sending them last year. I called and they gave me a code to use however they say you can only use one code per order (which is not noted on there recycling form). Because of this the order will actually cost more than if you were to order directly from the site without a coupon. It is very misleading and I will actually end up loosing money because of the cost of shipping the filters to them and also having them ship me new ones. Extremely misleading advertising.Desired Settlement: I would like what was advertised. A credit for my future order for new filters. I sent in 16 filters and should receive a credit for $80 off my next purchase ($10 per 2 filters recycled). Thank you.

Business

Response:

Our Marketing Manager left a message for the complaintant to return his call to discuss our recycling program and clarify the desired outcome. As you can see from the attachment, the form was updated in December 2013 to clearly state what the customer will receive when returning recycled filters. This form is on our website. As our recycling vendor sends a list of customers who returned filters, an acknowledgement letter (copy attached) is sent that details how the customer can obtain and use the recycle code. A copy of the recycle form is included with the letter. Will notify you of the outcome once contact is made with the complaintant.

Review: On the website they offer $30 savings. I did receive some coupons which were expired. Then if you return filters a promise of a $10 rebate is noted. However, between unusable coupons and a request for new ones, as well as where is my $10 rebate after shipping the filters back for recycling hasn't happened, I have heard no response after contacting them by email. I do not have time during the work day to make phone calls nor are personal calls allowed at my place of employment.Desired Settlement: I would like to see coupons that don't have expiration dates and the $10 rebate. I know this is small but this is also ridiculous considering that the filters do not last very long on a well system and cost over $15 a piece.

Business

Response:

We have contacted [redacted] and left a voicemail message regarding resolution of her complaint. We will issue a $10.00 recycle rebate check and send coupons.

Response:

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I have received the refund and coupons at this time.
