Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/09/03) */
We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding her concerns. We have spoken with the customer and advised that as the installation warranty has expired, we can repair the issues for a service fee. We look forward to hearing back from the...

customer and amicably resolving this matter.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/09/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As I stated in my previous complaint, I do not feel that a service fee is warrented due to the poor workmanship/quailty of carpet the Empire provided. Carpet that should hold up and look presentable years from now should not look the way mine does after 2.5 years. If this issue can't be resolved with either my money back or fixing the tremendous amount of bucking issues. I will never consider using Empire again even though I was planning on re-carpeting my upstairs and I will make sure that I will make it known of the poor quality and customer service Empire provided me. I will be more then happy to provide pictures of the quality of work provided.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/09/10) */
We have explained to the customer that the one (1) year installation warranty has expired, so we are unable to re-stretch the carpet at no cost. We remain willing to re-stretch the carpet for a service fee. We look forward to amicably resolving this matter.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/09/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
[redacted] Buyer Beware [redacted] when purchasing carpet or obtaining services from this company. They will not stand behind their workmanship and their carept is poor quality...As much that was spent on that carpet, for it to look this way after 2 years is a shame. I will never purchase from them again and I will encourage others not to as well.

The salesman was very knowledgeable, provided samples for my review and the installers were exceptional! I love my new floor1

I contacted Empire of North Haven, CT, for some work that needs to be done in my apartment. I was given an appointment at 1 PM. I had to travel from Mass. to CT to keep this appointment. At 1 O'clock I received a call to say that the rep. will be coming at 1:30. I said ok. and then I heard NOTHING from them until 8 in the evening, when they called to say the rep could not make it and they asked if I want to reschedule !!!. I am VERY disappointed in this company and will never do business with them again. They showed complete disregard to the customer's time and effort and did not have the decency to call in time to save me waiting that long. My advice to anyone wanting to do business with them is "Don't"

very satisified with overall job

I preface this review with the fact I have used Emipre several times covering several decades.
The most recent transaction was for wood floors and carpeting in 2011. The installation for the wood floors installers, that first did not want to install the new baseboards properly.
A couple of years latter we noticed the wood floors were beginning to loose their stain. This got much worse this year, so we contacted Empire for repair. It took several calls, all that we were put on hold to obtain the first appointment. The appointment date came and went with no call to tell us Empire was not coming. The second and third appointment dates came and went with same behavior.
At the time of this writing we are now waiting for our fourth appointment for 11-19-15. With this most recent appointment we were told we could not speak with a repair manager because they are all too busy. I have a customer service background and if my behavior was like this. I would not expect to be employed very long. I can only surmise that Empire Today's behavior is by design to discourage customers from attempting to have their issues repaired.
I have posted my opinion to all my several hundred Facebook friends, to not engage Empire for their home imrovement needs.

I recently decided to try Empire Today after seeing commercials for years on television. The sales person showed up on time and completed the necessary paperwork for my small job. I paid the $50.00 fee and signed the contract. This was on April 8, 2016. The job was to be completed on May 4, 2016.
In the contract it stated I would receive a call the day before to confirm the job but no call came. I called from home the next morning to confirm the job having stayed home from work to be here while the work was being done. My contract had never been entered into the Empire Today system. I was asked to call back @10:30 to see if the customer service person had been able to find out what had caused the miscommunication. I called back and was told there was no resolution and I would receive a call from the sales persons' supervisor with 24 hours.
Today on May 10th, I have yet to hear from anyone concerning my contract and I called and l cancelled the job. I was told once again, that I would be contacted by a supervisor within 24 hours. I'm not holding my breath.

Our service was 10 stars. We had two very dedicated installers, who did an excellent job removing old flooring and carpeting. They were in our home for over 10 hours to complete the job. There was never a rush, or a complaint. We even had to take our dog to the emergency vet, and leave them working. We returned and they were still cleaning up, moving furniture back. Vacuuming and sweeping. We were very impressed with installers. The flooring turned out gorgeous, as did the new carpeting on our 2nd floor. I hate reading all the negative comments. We prepared our home inside and outside; making sure the workers had enough room to navigate up the stair case, and carrying supplies into our home. Nothing was damaged. My husband is currently getting treatment for lung cancer, and I am a disabled veteran. They helped us in so many ways.

We were having a hard time finding the right floor colors in stores so we decided to give Empire a try since they come to your home with samples and you can see them on your floor. The sales person was great, we found just the right floor, the installation people were wonderful and the floor came out beautiful. The only caveat I would have is make sure you ask them about all the possible special offers and price reduction possibilities. The price we came to ultimately was considerably less than the original price offered because when we asked for it to be reduced the sales person had a coupon discount, a deduction for a sign in front of the house, and even a senior citiaen deduction. But overall, we're thrilled with the floor we got and we really liked all the people we worked with.

We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding their concerns.

8pt;">We have offered the customer replacement at no additional cost in exchange for a signed agreement, or service. The customer agreed to service, but refused to allow the installers to address the floor demanding a full refund.
The offer to fully replace the floor in exchange for a signed agreement is still available if the customer would reconsider. We look forward to a positive response to our offers.

I recently had my home remodeled and had laminate floors and carpet installed throughout my home. I was more than satisfied with the service that I received. From the salesman to the installers this is a steallar company that should be highly rated by the Revdex.com. I would recommend Empire Today to anyone.

Terrible terrible terrible! I scheduled an in home estimate and the salesman never showed up. After the appointment window was blown I received a call from the HQS customer service saying that they wanted to reschedule and that the salesman came but I wasn't home. That was a lie because I was in my driveway the entire day working on sanding and painting furniture. The customer service called back again the next day and asked to reschedule and offered me a discount. Against my better judgement I agreed. The second salesman showed up on time and was pleasant. The price was about $300 less than another bid and the carpet quality was better. I took the deal because we are prepping to sell our house and the price was good. I received an email the day before our planned install that said the installers would call between 8-9 with an estimated arrival time. I didn't get a call until 11. They finally showed up at noon. At the end of they day they told me that the salesman didn't estimate the amt of carpet correctly and that there wasn't enough for the 2 sets of stairs or the master closet and that they would have to talk to the schedulers to see when they could come back. After waiting a day and a half for a call, I finally called them to see when they were planning on coming out. The customer service person was very rude and said, well they told you they would be out tomorrow. That is not what they said. About an hour after the call with the customer service rep, I received an email for the install prep for the next day. On the day of the second go round of install, I never received a call from the installers, even though the email says they will call in the morning with an estimated arrival window. Finally around noon, I again called customer service, and they called the installers who said between 4-5. They finally showed up at 6pm, did I mention that the email says they will install your carpet between 8am and 6pm. So now it's 7:45 pm on a Saturday night and we are having carpet installed. If our house wasn't getting ready to go on the market in a week I would've told them to pull up what they installed and give me my money back. Terrible company, terrible customer service. I would NEVER recommend this company to a friend or even an enemy for that matter.

Great company. There were lots of time slots to schedule and very convenient hours for the initial appointment. I made one in the evening. The sales rep came right in time and he was awesome. Super personable, made me and my family comfortable that we were able to talk as well as joke around with him. I valued his honesty and I felt he was trustworthy. I am happy with my carpet choice. The price included all the elements; the carpet, padding, removal of old carpet and installation etc. I was able to get it done quickly so that my 18 month old could play in the basement without getting hurt. They installers were good as well. They arrive later in my time frame but the job was done within the two hours I was told.

This Is The Worst Company Ever. About 15 months ago
my husband and I decided to have the carpet replaced in our home. The salesman came In our home, measured and give us an estimate of about $5000.to which we agreed. pick out the carpet swatch and extra thick padding. We expressed our concerned about moving the furniture because all 6 rooms are furnished of course, he said not to worry and that the installers will move the furniture as they go. Well my husband and I and up moving most of the furniture because installers were told that the house was empty but they did help very little. Not at all what we were promised.. I took them about an hour to talk to the Empire to get everything sorted out and finally start the work. Four men worked about 12 hours to complete the job.
Now 15 months after the installation our carpet seam in the bedroom is coming apart. I spoke to 2 individuals at Empire and they requested the pictures (which we sent them the right away) The first person we spoke to on Dec.27th. Ryan [redacted] promised to get back to us as soon as he look at the pictures, or maybe the net day. Never heard from him again. So I called back on Jan.3 2017 and spoke to Latasha who also wanted the pictures and so I obliged again, right away. She call back and said " We can do anything about it , because its been over a year and we don't repair the seams any way, and that being a high traffic area and all. and even if try we may not have the right color of the carpet etc.".( To which I responded that we still have extra carpet), but it fell on deaf ears." High Traffic Area" What?! I go to my bedroom to sleep, not party." [redacted] it she said, and see if you can find someone that can come and weave the carpet string back together."
And so that is the end of it.
We will find somebody and have this matter solved, but as for "Empire" all I have to say is. Thank You So Much For Nothing! You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourself And Entire Staff Especially The Shady Owner(s) And Installers. So for now ill just sit back and watch "KARMA" at work!!!!!

The salesman was great . The installation crew was great . I will do bissness with empire again.

We had our kitchen/dining room and utility room covered with luxury vinyl tile. We are very happy with the product. We were empresses with the professionalism of the sales rep and the installer.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2014/09/17) */
We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding her concerns. We have spoken with the customer and advised that the one year installation warranty has expired, but we are willing to re-stretch the carpet for a service fee. The customer...

advised that she would consider this offer. We look forward to hearing back from the customer and reaching an amicable resolution.

Empire did not show up for 3 scheduled estimate appointments.

1. Salesman car broke down.
2. Salesman was unsure if company sold bamboo flooring.
3. Shortage of salesman.

They did not get to cancel a fourth time because I refused to reschedule.

Customer service is rude and unhelpful.
If you need flooring in your home go somewhere else.

We had Empire Today install ceramic tile in four rooms and carpet in two rooms. We are very pleased with the process from beginning to end. It was easy to make an appointment. The sales rep who came was on time. He explained the differences in the various products, as well as answering any questions we had. He had a wide variety of product samples to choose from. The installation teams were wonderful and very professional. They came to the house on time. The installation of both the tile and the carpeting was outstanding. We are very pleased with the entire job, and will not hesitate using them again.

The staff arrived at our home, made the purchase of new carpeting easy and the installation was as expected.

Sub-contractor was hired by Empire to install my property gutters. Sub-contractor did not install them correctly and did not included protective flashing resulting in water penetrating into my home causing over $2000 in damage. Empire refuses to take any responsibility because 12 months has passed. Employees lack customer service skills and company is way overpriced for crap job they deliver. Don't waist your money.
