I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  
 There is no reason as to why the arrangements could not have been made for Tuesday or Wednesday. I was told on Tuesday afternoon that the route manager was aware of the situation by a representative at the local office. I go home each day for lunch so I know that it was possible for the trash to have been retrieved quite sooner than Thursday. These problems are consistent with your company as I have had numerous bad experiences since I started being forced to use your company since 2011.

Bureau complaint. I would like to apologize for the missed service and inconvenience you have experienced with Waste Management up to this point. We strive to always exceed our customers’ expectations, yet we have clearly fallen short on this matter.
 
In review of your account Waste Management issued a refund for $78.79- for failure to resume your account once your payment was received.Once our containers are removed, please allow four to six weeks for your refund.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  I am not satisfied with this response because it's simply a recitation of their previous responses and in no way validates their billing practices. They attempt to explain why charging the customer for their business costs is legitimate, but the explanation only further supports that the unreasonable fees and administrative costs are not properly shifted to me, the consumer. WM admits they do not disclose the fee up front when customers are shopping and/or contracting for services. In other words, I never knew or accepted the container removal fee when I contracted for services and did not know there was a cost associated with canceling services. Only after I canceled 2 years later did they come up with this fee for removal of their own container, which they admit they will put back into circulation for another customer's use, to WM's benefit. Telling me after cancelation of services there will be a fee in no way binds me to pay the fee. (I had no choice - I wasn't allowed to keep the container or sell the container to another customer.) If they want to retrieve the container and re-use it, that is WM's cost to bear, not the consumer's, unless the consumer actually accepts that as a term of the original agreement for services, which did NOT happen here. Moreover the fee ($40) and its associated costs ($20) AND late fees after alleged non-payment are also unreasonable. For all of these reasons, I will now be filing a complaint with the MN attorney general and will ask that this deceptive practice be investigated, and that an action be filed on behalf of all MN consumers pursuant to Minn. Stat. 325F.69(1).Thank you,[redacted]

$18.90 hardly covers the 2 hours I had to spend to get my trash picked up one time.   Especially having to wait a full 45 mins to speak to a supervisor.
