WeddingWire Reviews (106)

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from **. [redacted] to us.

**. [redacted] emailed WeddingWire on February 12, 2014 about this negative review posted on her '[redacted]' WeddingWire account....

This review was immediately removed from her account after it was flagged to our attention and we confirmed that it violated our Terms of Use.

**. [redacted] was notified on February 13, 2014 that this review was removed from WeddingWire.

WeddingWire wants vendors to be in control over their WeddingWire account and any reviews they receive, which is why the support team also informed **. [redacted] about how she can formally dispute or respond to any reviews her WeddingWire account receives in the future.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com, Thank you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from [redacted] to...

us.
WeddingWire is a neutral platform that functions solely as a space where wedding members and vendor members can connect for a particular type of service or product. We are not a wedding product or service provider, and are not involved in or a party to the actual transaction between members. Therefore, we have no control over the quality, accuracy, safety, or legality of the transactions that take place on our website, or the accuracy of listings, or the ability of vendors to provide items or services. Most importantly, WeddingWire is not responsible for the actions or inactions of any wedding members or vendor members that utilize our platform. More importantly, there is no fee for our wedding members to utilize any of the functions on WeddingWire - [redacted] used WeddingWire.com to find her vendor for free. Wedding members are able to search for vendors, gather information about their services, and read reviews about that business for free, similar to many other review platform sites. We understand this individual may have contacted a vendor through our platform to provide services for their wedding, but any transaction that took place was between the client and the vendor directly. WeddingWire is never involved in any transaction between a vendor and their clients. Unfortunately, since WeddingWire is a neutral platform, we do not get involved in any issues or disputes between a client and a vendor. We highly encourage [redacted] to contact the business directly to resolve any issues she might have. Sincerely, Emma G[redacted]Senior Customer Care Representative

I am rejecting this response because:I did have the actual client post a review... because the process is NOT unbiased they have also disputed that review and required a signed check to be sent. That has been done and the review posted however, wedding wire moved negative reviews to the bottom so they are hard to see. My problem is based on the skewed review process. DO NOT claim to have an unbiased review process but move all negative reviews to the bottom so that only positive feed back is seen. Unbiased means equal space for good and bad, this is NOT reflected on their website. As stated previously, I have seen other complaints about this process. The Revdex.com should take the repeated complaints into account!

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Wedding Wire continues to dodge compliance with their own policies and dance around the issues with what appear to be cut & paste email responses as they continue to ignore our complaints. Every communication with Wedding Wire has been frustratingly ineffective.
The "reinstated review" that Wedding Wire posted today is not the original version - it has been re-written and no longer identifies our personnel with full name. Of note, the original review published for months on Wedding Wire had disparaging comments and targeted personnel by first and last name.  In the new version of the disputed review that was posted today, the reviewer is identified as "private user". Posting a review with no identification is in direct violation of Wedding Wires policies: #3. Prohibited Activities: Visitors to and Members of the Site:You further agree not to impersonate another Member or attempt to disguise or conceal the author of any Submitted Information. This member has concealed and disguised who they are. This review must be deleted.
Wedding Wire is aware that we are unable to identify the reviewer or events alleged. They have refused to supply us with a copy of the "proof" they obtained by their member. We have no unfinished business with any of our clients (as the complaint alleges by the anonymous Wedding Wire Member). All of our 2015 were satisfactorily closed with all clients by mutual agreement in September. The disputed review and complaint is unrecognizable as any client of ours.
Also, Wedding Wire has not responded about what we had been verbally promised when we first agreed to their free listing, and again, in September when we asked for all removal of our business. Promises made were violated.
Wedding Wire continues to be unprofessional and unreasonable. The listing they provided for "free" - has cost us an exorbitant amount of time, energy and expense in our attempts to remove our closed home-business from their website and internet search engines.  Because every other internet service provider and wedding directory have all complied with our requests deleting all information about our business, a simple [redacted] of our business name goes directly to Wedding Wire and the disputed review. As a result, our outstanding reputation has been compromised. The disputed anonymous review gave us a "0" rating with false allegations jeopardizing our 5-star ratings from our legitimate clients.
We will consider this matter closed when Wedding Wire removes all association with our closed business by removing our listing from all of their search engines. We do not consider this matter closed until Wedding Wire complies with our request to remove all links to our closed business.
Thank you for your assistance with this ongoing matter.
Regards,

Thank you for passing along Ms. [redacted]'s concerns regarding her WeddingWire account via case #[redacted]. In response to Ms. [redacted]’s complaints, advertisers on our site enter into a one-year agreement as stipulated in her contract. WeddingWire also reached out to Ms. [redacted] via email on...

April 26, 2016, to discuss the issues regarding analytics and reviews with no response. We were sorry we were unable to connect and rectify any confusion. In light of these issues, WeddingWire’s Account Services department notified Ms. [redacted] on May 11, 2016, that she was released from her current 12-month Agreement and that her paid listing was removed from our paid catalog. At this time, we consider this matter closed. Best,Dan S[redacted]Associate Director, Customer Care

Revdex.com, Thank you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from [redacted] to us. ?On May 14, 2014, [redacted] purchased a Professional listing from WeddingWire for his business, [redacted], that was agreed upon to run for 12 months.WeddingWire’s advertising contracts are always 12 months long. The terms for all WeddingWire purchases are available on the website, within each customer's account, and provided within an email receipt upon completion of the purchase. On September 25, 2014, [redacted] expressed to a representative of WeddingWire that he did not wish to continue his payments for his listing, and that he was not made aware of the length of the agreement.  Due to his failure to keep his account in good financial standing, [redacted]'s agreement was terminated by WeddingWire on October 20, 2014. Dear Revdex.com,
class="gmail_default">
Thank you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from **. [redacted] to us.
The product that **. [redacted] purchased was for a term of 12 full months. All product offerings that WeddingWire provides are for a term of twelve (12) months.

WeddingWire notified [redacted] on February 5, 2016, that WeddingWire would inactivate her account per her request; however,
sans-serif;">we do retain the right to keep basic publicly available business information live on the site for our users to leave reviews about that business. We allow any legitimate client of a business to leave a review for the services they contract, therefore, once a business has been added to the network, we do not completely remove the listing. Upon multiple attempts to provide her login capabilities per her request, WeddingWire also reached out to [redacted] on February 8, 2016, to confirm that she did want her account inactivated. Since then, we have not heard from [redacted] to proceed. Upon sending approval to [email protected], we are prepared to address any account changes, questions, review disputes, or other concerns she may have.

Dear Revdex.com,
Thank you very much for passing along the response from [redacted] (case #[redacted])  to us.
In regards to the disputed review that was reinstated this morning (1/12/2015), this review does not contain any personally identifiable information. If a review ever includes a vendor's last name, personal phone number, personal address, etc. we ask the reviewer to remove that content from their review. However, vendor's first names and vendor business information is permitted to be included within a review on our platform. The review that was reinstated today did not include any personally identifiable information and therefore does not violate our Terms of Use in any way.
WeddingWire reached out to this reviewer and confirmed that they were in fact a legitimate client of '[redacted]' with the requested documentation. To verify they conducted business with a particular vendor, a reviewer must send us either a signed contract or a proof of payment. We do not verify the location of the user or where the user is from - only that they were a client of the business they posted feedback for. This individual was a client of [redacted] and therefore their review is permitted on our site.
WeddingWire is a neutral platform where legitimate clients of a business are able to post their feedback about the vendors they conducted business with. Vendors are able to post a response to any review their business receives with their own perspective of a certain event or situation. Both parties are able to post their perspectives on our platform. Regardless if a contract was terminated prior to an event date, a client who had a signed contract or proof of payment with a vendor is still able to post their review on our site. Vendors can explain the reasoning of the termination within their response to the review.
Our continued use of a business' information after a vendor has inactivated their account or gone out of business is outlined within the first section of our Terms of Use.  It states, "after WeddingWire and the Vendor Member have terminated their relationship, WeddingWire shall be entitled to retain all reviews associated with a Vendor Member on the Site as well as basic directory information, including, without limitation, business name, address and telephone number."
It is important to note a business listing on WeddingWire can be created either by the vendor themselves OR by a client of that vendor who is looking to post a review about the business.
In regards to [redacted]'s business listing for '[redacted]', as mentioned, the inactive, closed business listing for '[redacted]' will remain on our site. Since it has been marked as Out of Business, this business listing is not within our vendor catalog, and can only be located upon searching for the venue directly by business name on WeddingWire or within a search engine. This listing solely serves as a placeholder for the four reviews already posted for this business, but is not an advertisement.
Since all of this information has been explained thoroughly to [redacted] by our Support Team, we consider this matter closed and our last response to this case.
Sincerely,
Catherine C[redacted]

Thank you for passing along this case (#[redacted]) submitted by [redacted].
[redacted] purchased a Professional listing with WeddingWire with a standard term of 12 months. She was eligible for, and received a special offer confirming she has the right to terminate the contract early for any reason after the completion of six months of paid service. After discussing her account with a member of our Customer Success team, [redacted] confirmed that she understood the agreement and her intent to exercise the early termination clause at the earliest possible date. We will proactively reach out to her as this date approaches to confirm her decision and proceed based on her request at that time. We are prepared to fully meet the obligations of the agreement and are being proactive in responding to [redacted]'s preferences at the earliest possible time. Therefore, we consider this matter closed.

Dear...

Revdex.com,

Thank you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from [redacted] to us.

[redacted] posted a review on our site for the business '[redacted] Event Spaces' on September 18, 2014. Later on September 18, 2014 this business formally disputed the review posted by [redacted] stating that it violated WeddingWire's Terms of Use. Once a review is disputed in our system by a vendor, WeddingWire reviews that published feedback to determine whether or not it does in fact violate our Terms of Use.
This verification process is a neutral process across our site regardless if a vendor is a paying advertiser or has a free listing. WeddingWire will only remove a review from our site that directly violates our Terms of Use. If a legitimate client posts a review about a business - regardless if it is negative, positive, or neutral about that business - that review will remain after being verified.
As our Terms of Use clearly states, WeddingWire only permits legitimate paying customers of a business to post their feedback about that business for which they paid for and received services from. Since [redacted] was a guest at his brother and sister-in-law's wedding, and not an actual client of '[redacted] Event Spaces', his review violated our Terms of Use and we were forced to remove his review from our site. WeddingWire explained the removal of this review in an email sent to [redacted] on September 18, 2014.
All individuals must certify that the feedback they publish on our platform abides by our Terms of Use before officially submitting their review. If a review does violate our written Terms, we will remove it from our site. However, we encouraged [redacted] to have the actual clients of this business write their own review so they could share their feedback about this vendor's services at their event. Since this has been explained fully to [redacted], we consider this matter closed.

Sincerely,
Catherine C[redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I am a small business and I know my clients personally. I have explained to wedding wire that the review have received is a false review. In my opinion wedding wire is handling this situation VERY badly. I will be deleting my wedding wire account and not associating myself with them anymore.
They have also made the comment that I have to have a court order to see the contract the "reviewer" left. If my signature is on ANY paperwork by law I have the right to see it. There not providing me with this information that I have requested. So at this time I would like if Revdex.com could help me get a copy of this contract I would appreciate it. Even if it has the reviewers name is marked out. If this is not possible I would like to know at least how the contract was signed. Whenever it was received what signature from [redacted] is on there

Rip off! Decided to utilize Wedding Wire as an avenue to generate business for my Photography company. We were paying for their most expensive package and we received not one call or inquiry from any potential customer for over 6 months! HUGE RIP OFF! DO NOT USE THEM!!

255);">Dear Revdex.com,
Thank you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from [redacted] of [redacted] to us.
A business account can be created on WeddingWire by either the business owner directly, or by one of the vendor's customers. If a customer creates a business account for a vendor, that vendor can claim the vendor account at any time to add content to it if they would like and/or manage the reviews their business receives on WeddingWire.
WeddingWire serves as a neutral platform for newlyweds to share their experiences with the community. These experiences in the form of a written review are the full opinion and editorial rights of the client of that business. Unless a review violates WeddingWire’s Terms of Use, we do not remove reviews. To determine whether or not a review abides by or violates WeddingWire’s Terms of Use, a vendor is able to formally dispute any review their business receives by logging in to their WeddingWire account or contacting us directly via [email protected] to request a review be disputed.
This vendor reached out to us through social media to have this review officially disputed on 1/18/2016, which means it is now hidden on their public WeddingWire storefront. The WeddingWire Dispute Team has reached out to the reviewer requesting either a signed contract or proof of payment verifying whether or not they were in fact a paying customer of [redacted]. If we receive the necessary documentation verifying this individual was in fact a paying customer of theirs, the review will be reinstated on the [redacted] account. If we do not receive the necessary documentation, then the review will remain hidden and will not be put back up. The reviewer has a total of 60 days from the start of this process (which was on 1/19/2016) to send WeddingWire the requested documentation.
Since [redacted] is now aware of our Terms of Use, review policy, and our verification process in full, WeddingWire considers this matter closed.
Sincerely,
Emma G[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,
Thank you for bringing to our attention complaint #[redacted] submitted by [redacted].  [redacted] purchased a Featured listing on July 29, 2014.  WeddingWire made several attempts in April 2015, May 2015, and June 2015 to contact [redacted] in an...

effort to assist her in updating her payment information, with our last outreach being June 2, 2015 via email.  As she was not able to provide us with correct billing information, her account access was suspended and the agreement and listing were terminated.
In regards to the review [redacted] describes, we have disputed the review that was left for her business on her behalf and are currently waiting for verification.  If the review is determined to be verified based on our normal verification process, the review will be placed back on to the account.  If the review is not able to be verified, then the review will no longer be visible on the account.
