Review: On 8/21/13 I accepted a phone call from Wedding Wire to upgrade my free listing to a paid premium listing. I was told that I would get great support from them and that I have beautiful photos that would guarantee me clients. After going over what their site offered in a demo and what they offered for their service I was told to "try it out and see how I like it". After I gave my credit card to them I was told that I would have a rate that would be guaranteed for 12 months and for any problems to give the regional manager (who was on the phone with me) a call. The payments were split into twelve separate payments. I was NOT told that this was a non-cancelling contract at any time during the initial call. If I did know about this I would have never signed up in the first place.

After my last payment on 3/21/14 I decided to cancel since I never received any clients from weddingwire. When I tried to cancel they simply said I can't cancel that this is a non-cancellable contract. I was never shown or told about their "terms and services" until after I signed up and gave them my credit card. They sent me a receipt showing this but again, the receipt is what I got AFTER signing up. I did not agree to this nor did I ever receive a terms of service until AFTER signing up. I keep repeating this to them but they seem to ignore this fact. Their customer service is horrible and downright unethical. I've written numerous emails to them about this and nothing has been resolved nor do they seem to want to resolve it. Instead I get emails from the sales person offering more services as if to mock me instead of canceling my service. To me this is downright theft. Instead of contacting me on phone I get emails about how to improve for getting clients by getting more reviews. This is the actual response I got from them about cancelling my account:

Quote-

"If you'd like, feel free to reference our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines and Vow of Conduct. Your lawyer can contact our legal team at [email protected]. Should you ultimately choose to cancel your card and there is a missed payment, your account will undergo an internal collections process in an effort to secure new billing information. Should those efforts be unsuccessful, the account will be terminated, which means you will lose all access to managing the account and it will not be in good standing. If you were to want to upgrade again in the future, you'd need to reconcile the overdue balance and commit to another 12-month term."

This is insane. I was promised on the phone that I would get clients and calls and that this was a "try it out" type of thing. NOT ONCE have I ever been told before paying that this is a non-cancelling contract. If that isn't a scam I don't know what is.Desired Settlement: I would like a phone call from upper management and my credit card to not be charged for anything after 3/27/2014.

Dear Revdex.com,

As a wedding planner I use many sites for marketing and business leads. I signed up with Wedding Wire because they were partnered with Martha Stewart. After I had paid for my subscription we were all informed that they have lost partnership with Martha Stewart to another wedding marketing service.
After 3 months I had not received any leads and I had their "premium" subscription. It was odd as I had received plenty of leads and I had booked plenty of jobs using other service sites. I requested that my subscription be canceled and they had refused. I had to wait 6 months. I finally was able to cancel after 6 months and they continued to charge my credit card.
The fact that it was well know that I was completely dissatisfied with their business and they continued to charge me monthly fees of $83.33 is beyond me. If a customer is extremely unhappy with your services, cut ties and give them a refund. It's the right thing to do.
I will never recommend Wedding Wire to ANY of my colleagues whether they be planners, photographers or in the wedding/event industry. I deserve to be refunded. As customers, we deserve the right to cancel our membership if we are not getting the services/partnerships as promised.

Review: Upon speaking with [redacted] in sales, I was given false information about the validity of a contract that was never presented to or signed by myself before giving my credit card information. Upon the transaction being completed, I was then given a terms of service with a generic line in an email stating that a contract of 1 year has been entered and that said contract was not eligible for early termination. The way in which [redacted] presented initial info to me was ensuring and encouraging and after doing research, Weddingwire has a long history of disputed such as these by giving misleading information as well as a complete lack of any sort of LEGAL contractual agreement by both parties involved. Upon contact [redacted] via phone, she because extremely defensive and rude towards me when I aired my frustrations and distaste for the way in which this matter way handled. Ultimately, that phone call ended with her telling me there was nothing she could do and that collections would come after me. I then attempted to contact [redacted] and left voicemail for her to contact me in regard to this matter, as [redacted] informed me she was in charge of my account. It has been over 48 hours and I have still not received a response from her. There for I have taken action with my bank to put a stop payment against Weddingwire as well as filed a claim against them to get back my initial payment of $154.17.Desired Settlement: I want my initial payment of $154.17 refunded to my bank account as well as this completely illegal "contract" that I never signed to be dissolved/ deleted.

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: Wedding Wire is an inferior service, for a company who prides them self on online promotions they don't offer many options in the web coding for clients who design their own sites. I was also told by the sale rep that I would be able to use my own code in the client site via wedding wire. that was the biggest selling point on my renewal since I had may issues with the reps prior. I am unable to do anything with my own code or forms in the new client site. like promised.Desired Settlement: I am asking for full refund of my 2nd year membership and void contract and a public statement warning other business and vendors about the limited professionalism and function of the products.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: During a recent [redacted] search, I noticed that my name ([redacted]) came up in a review for [redacted], NV on the website WeddingWire.com. It was not a bad review except that I have never photographed a wedding in [redacted]. I also don't promote myself as a [redacted] photographer nor do I ever intend to do business there in the future.

I contacted WeddingWire.com to ask them to remove the listing and have gotten nothing but the run-around through emails signed by "[redacted]". They are claiming Fair Use copyrights to use my name.

Since this [redacted], NV wedding never happened. I am claiming false advertising against my will. This is completely detrimental against my time and money spent over the years for promoting my business. WeddingWire.com has no right to use my name for advertising purpose as they please.Desired Settlement: As of this writing I have spent over three hours of my day trying to resolve this issue with WeddingWire.com. Not only do I expect my name to removed from any and all of their sites and data bases. I am invoicing WeddingWire.com for 3 hours of my time at $75 per hour.

Response:

Dear

Revdex.com,

Thank

you very much for passing along the case (#[redacted]) from **. [redacted] to us.

WeddingWire

serves as a neutral platform for newlyweds to share their experiences with the

community. These experiences are the full editorial rights of the brides.

Unless the review violates the WeddingWire review guidelines, we do not remove

reviews. **. [redacted]'s review for his business '[redacted]' was fully

investigated by our Dispute Team once the dispute was submitted.

**.

[redacted] disputed '[redacted]'s' review on 9/19/2013. Our Review Dispute Team

investigated the review and was unable to validate the review; therefore,

'[redacted]'s' review was inactivated on 9/27/2013.

In

regards to **. [redacted]'s company '[redacted]' being listed as a [redacted]

photographer, at this time the only regions WeddingWire has listed in Nevada

are the [redacted] region and the [redacted] region. All area codes in the northern

Nevada area are included in the [redacted] listing. Therefore, the '[redacted]

[redacted]' account is listed as a '[redacted]' vendor in the '[redacted]

[redacted]' region. We constantly adjust our regions and add more regions, so a more

specific region for this company may be added in the future.

Lastly,

when we inactivate accounts on WeddingWire, we remove the personal contact

information, photos, and content from a storefront. Also, WeddingWire no longer

contacts that business directly. However, the basic listing information such as

business name is public information and remains on our site as a place holder

for individuals to write reviews for businesses in the future.

Sincerely,

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

As I have mentioned to the good folks at WeddingWire time and time and time and time again, I do not promote my business in [redacted], I do not wish to promote my business in [redacted], and I sure as [redacted] don't promote in [redacted].

WeddingWire has absolutely no right whatsoever to use my name or business entity as they see fit. I've spent too many years grooming my business to have some dysfunctional online button-pushers manipulating my presence.

As far as I am concerned this is defamation of character, and there are some copyright ramifications as well since WeddingWire is using my name to promote their business without permission.

They have already proved internally... There was a review for [redacted] wedding photography in [redacted], yet there never was a wedding shot in [redacted].

To WeddingWire... cease and desist from using [redacted] on any and all of your websites, and remove [redacted] from any and all databases.

This is my last attempt to communicate with WeddingWire on reasonable terms.

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you for passing along **. [redacted]’s response to us ((#[redacted])

We understand [redacted]’s

frustration with being placed under the [redacted] region; at this time this is the

only region that encompasses his zip code within the WeddingWire mapping, this

region is labeled ‘ Nevada- [redacted], [redacted] and surrounding area’ – it does

not limit the storefront to the [redacted] area.

As mentioned in our last letter,

we have

removed **. [redacted]’s personal contact information, and he will no longer be

contacted directly by WeddingWire. However, our continued use of his basic

listing information (such as business name) is protected under the law as it is

being used as a placeholder. We encourage him to review the following link for

more information about the “fair use” doctrine: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Protected under the law???

This company does NOT have the right to falsely advertise anything. I never photographed a wedding in [redacted] and never will. And yet a review appeared on WeddingWire as though I had and WeddingWire admits they could not verify the authenticity? FRAUD!!!! Again, I do not wish to be falsely listed as anything by WeddingWire in any way, shape, or form. I had never heard of WeddingWire until someone pointed out my listing which I had no previous knowledge of. This company is obviously harvesting data from the web to fill voids. And why would anybody in their right mind want to be affiliated with such a horrible company???

But don't take my word, read the reviews about WeddingWire: [redacted]

WeddingWire is an online leach and hopefully they'll be out of business soon.

This is so ridiculous.

Review: I called and left a message for [redacted]. in the accounting department to pay an outstanding balance of 68.83 for [redacted]. Today was the 2nd day a message was left. The first one was left yesterday. No return phone call as of yet. I will assume you all will have some sort of excuse for that. You always do. To make a long story short, this is exactly what happened before in November 2012 and months prior to that, my account was not billed for months of service (which your records will indicate), then when you all realized that you made a billing error and did not charge my card for months due, you sent me communication to pay and when I did not as fast as you wanted me to, you put me on your account ‘naughty list’ and removed my account access. Which is fine, if you feel that is ethical and that is how you want to do business that is your choice.

This is the reason why I made my complaint to the Revdex.com because, with all the legal mumbo jumbo on your website, I am unsure if you are following a code of ethics in being a reputable business.

In short, I would like to pay the outstanding balance, sign an 1 year agreement and continue to be a client of yours. If you choose not to have that balance paid, and no longer want me as a client, please let me know by the end of business on Friday, June 14th, 2013. Hopefully that should give you enough time to respond. For any business, to 2 business days is more than enough time to respond to a client billing concern. Especially when the client wants to pay the bill. I won’t be calling or sending anymore emails begging you to take my payment if I do not get any type of response after that date. I will assume that the matter will be closed and no balance is owed to WeddingWire from [redacted].

p.s. I am not sure why you do not have a web portal, gui interface or something that would allow clients to login or go to and pay their account monthly, when needed, or in full, if you are unable to bill their card(s) being they are unable to contact you directly and you respond obviously timely via phone or email. I do for my business and it works great.

Also prior to this I or anyone affiliated with my company, NEVER, signed any type of agreement with WeddingWire. If you have document to the contray, please provide to me via email, if applicable so I can review. I did attempt to sign an agreement in January 2013 but the outstanding billing issue surfaced again and was told that by the sales rep that that agreement would not be valid.Desired Settlement: I would like to pay the outstanding balance of 68.83, sign an 1 year agreement and continue to be a client of yours. If you choose not to have that balance paid, and no longer want me as a client, please let me know and remove anything associated with the [redacted] WeddingWire account, including but not limited to name of business, email addresses, reviews, pictures and my company business information.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I recived the following communication from [redacted]. in your accounting department. I have attached the correspondence and included it in this email. As I stated months ago, I already paid this back in December of 2012. See [redacted]'s response below,

"

Hi [redacted],

Thank you for your email. After

reviewing your account, it shows that you already paid your outstanding balance

on 12/6/2012. The account shows that you were set up to start a new 1 year term

back on 12/21/2012, but then decided you did not want to renew.

I stopped the current charge

from processing. I am going to notify your account representative to contact

you so we can get your account restored and set up on a new 1 year agreement.

If you have any billing

questions or concerns, please feel free to call me directly at [redacted]

ext. [redacted] or email me at [redacted] I am in the office Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM ET

to 6:00 PM ET.

Thank you for your time and

communication.

Since this was obviously your company error, I am not asking for any refunds, free accounts or anything like that. I would just like the account restored to the free listing asap so I can have access to the account. Also I would like to [redacted] the sales rep follow-up with me within 30 days so I can pay in full on a premium listing. I understand companies make mistakes so I am not asking for anything big. Since this was your company error in billing and limited my access due to that error, if you would like to offer any discounts in services, I would gladly take them. I look forward to your response.

After speaking with **. [redacted], his delinquency was resolved and returned back to a free, Lite listing with WeddingWire as desired. **. [redacted] informed us he would like to be reached out to in one month’s time to consider upgrading his membership again at that time if he so chooses. Based on fulfilling **.
