On August 22, 2016, I drove my Dodge Sprinter Base vehicle for transmission service to AAMCO Transmissions Total Car Care located at Baltimore Pike, Bel Air, MarylandBased on the AAMCA invoice #***, it required new transmission fluid, gasket and case connector, oil change and diagnosticsThe very next day, August 23, 2016, I stopped by at the shop to check on my vehicle's status and noticed a lot of leakage under the car rendering it un-drivable
FACT: On August 18-19, 2016, I used the Dodge to carry building materials from ***, Edgewood, MD to Mr*** residence *** When I brought the Dodge to the shop, it did not have any leakage and was drivable, when I went to pick it up I asked Mr***, the owner, what was happening to itMr.*** told me that his technicians changed the gasket, the case connector and transmission oil and they did not tou

To whom it may concern, A miscommunication was made internally and a refund to customer

The bottom line isn't about the cost of the repair It's about the WRONG diagnosis!! There's NOTHING wrong with the transmission

The worst experience of my life After purchasing the car and having my car for months the paint on the bumper starts to peel After having the car for months there is a problem with my throttle The Manager Floyd tells me the reason the paint on my bumper is peeling is because I park to close to the curb Even though you can clearly see that the paint is different where the paint is peeling than the rest of the car The paint is bubbled up! When going to get them to repair the throttle problem because my car is under a 100K warranty They mention I should not be unhappy that I am having car problems because I have driven 14K miles since I have had the vehicle Which is higher than normal The miles on my car when I bring it in for the throttle repair is at $49K (Which in my calculations is under $100K) They then proceed to tell me that my warranty company will replace the throttle but their require for the throttle to be cleaned before they will actually repair/replace My deductible is $with Warranty PPM tells me I need to pay $to clean the throttle and that cleaning it may or may not fix the issue But I must pay to get it done So I pay $to get the throttle cleaned I explain to the Service man Justin as well as the General Manager Floyd my frustrations at their request of paying $ with no assurance that this will resolve the problem The service man Justin tells me that is between me and the warranty company and I shouldn't have driven my car so many miles I ask to speak to a manager and he tells me to just come and pick up my car I call and talk to Floyd and he advises me the same that I have driven my car to many miles Floyd then does offer to waive the deductible if cleaning it doesn't fix it I explain my frustrations to Floyd again about the paint peeling He still holds to: I park to close to the curb Even though the paint that is peeling is on top of the bumper not the bottom I explain to him my level of being unhappy, Floyd states to me that he is unable to please everyone days after getting the throttle cleaned I am having the same problem I call the Warranty company they advise, I can take it to any mechanic to be repaired I take it to actual real dealership they call claim in and I now have to pay $deductible The warranty company tells me that the PPM misdiagnosed They then give me futher details that Justin never even called in to them to report a claim at all They stated they would never tell them to clean the throttle 1st They go off of what the service rep says If he called in and stated that the throttle wasn't working and that their was hesitation in excelleration They would cover it because the throttle is included in my warranty Again, they reiterate to me that Justin never called in to them They only have record of the service rep at the manufacturer shop calling in PPM also did not file my tags correctly to the property tax office, my new property tax bill was for my old car I talked to Floyd about that and he states he was doing me a favor and that is how it should be I am sure the property tax office would like to know that PPM intentionally mis-files car tags and taxes So overall, PPM is very unprofessional Floyd was rude and unprofessional They clearly do not have their customers best interest in mind Which is unfortunate when you think about if they did serve their customers correctly Customers might return and do business with them again and again Floyd did say he would waive the $deductible if I brought my car back to them But the record shows, I would be crazy to allow a bunch of disrespectful liars to touch my car again Let alone profit from my warranty I will pay the $deductible again Of course I did call Floyd and ask him to give me at least $refunded back to me for an unnecessary cleaning of throttle Of course, they said NO! I would NOT RECOMMEND ANY ONE TO BUY FROM HERE BUYER BEWARE

We spoke to the customer on record Alfred M*** hours after we received the vehicle We told him the required repairs would be approximately $ We had not recevied a call back from MrM*** until Jan 28th We called him numerous times and left messages It is
unfortunate that the vehicle was stolen When the MsB*** did call us back we told her to call her insurance company and the police to file a report If this was as big a concern as the customer claims why did they leave the vehicle at our facility for over days? Neither MrM*** nor *** called us or returned calls after hours of us receiving the vehicle for over days. We have a notice posted in our facility that states we are not responsible for vehicles left overnight that are not being worked on This customer chose to leave their vehicle for an extended period of time and used our business as a storage lot for their car John the Aamco *** has always been soft spoken, never raising his voice nor disrespectful ever We still have the keys to the vehicle and the customer is welcome to pick them up anytime after they pay for the fees owed Aamco Currently the customer owes Aamco $for the original tow and a minimum $for storage (days @ $per day) for a total of $ Finally, the vehicle had an engine that needed to be replaced at an approximate cost of $ The interior of the vehicle was in disarray (radio removed with wires dangling, etc) The vehicle was in poor condition The KBB value of a similar vehicle in working condition is less than $ If you take into consideration the cost of repairs the vehicle unfortunately has no value other than insurance reimbursement This information makes the customer's claim of $unreasonable We are sorry that the vehicle was stolen and can can assist with providing any information we can

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Yes, I was told on my initial phone call that there was such a canned food drive, however I drove my vehicle directly to the shop as the engine was making a horrendous knocking sound and the car could not accelerate quickly and would not exceed 50mph on the interstateI decided that stopping at a grocery store to buy canned food was a dangerous proposition and put both myself and those around me on the road at riskAs I arrived at AAMCO and spoke with the very friendly gentleman at the counter I made the point of saying that I did not have the opportunity to stop at the store and get any canned food items and his exact words were "Don't worry about it." At no time did he nor ** *** tell me or even hint to me that there would be a separate vehicle inspection fee.I do not care if my $charge (plus tax) is returned to me -- I am simply seeking an acknowledgement of wrong doing and an apology.

On August I had my car towed to the AAMCO transmission repair center on Baltimore Pike in
Bel Air Maryland and it is now September and I am no closer to getting my car's transmission repaired then I was on August I have only dealt with one person at the AMMCO center over the phone and his name is ***
On Aug *** explained that they would perform a diagnostic test on the car's transmission to determine what repairs were needed*** explained that this diagnostic test was an $value and was free of charge
Aug 9th I called *** and the car had not been looked at
On Aug *** called and from the diagnostic test *** told me the fluid looked good but there were error codes associated with the shift solenoid and it would cost $to investigate *** mentioned this could be a wiring/connector type fix I approved the work
I did not hear from the *** so on Aug I called and was told by *** it was determined that a replacement transmiss

To whom this may concern, At the time of the original purchase a alignment was recommended and declined by the customer, two months after repair per my store manager she came in asking about a alignment and that it should be no charge due to the fact that of
all the work that was completed previous. We explained we charge for alignments and even offered one at our cost of and this was also declined .... Customer left upset because we didn't offer it free "no shop does". When her car left originally it was in no danger period the only problem it might of indured was the fact that alignment was declined and tires would be abused overworked from mis alignment. We are not liable if a repair is declinedI will offer to align for the but refuse to pay for tires due to a customer declining to align a car

We had ordered the part from dealer and the dealer would only sell the broken part as one whole piece(housing and actuator rod)The customer was charged for a dealer part and the hours labor which included the hour diagnostic that we had spent on finding the problem and the hours labor in
removing the bad part and installing the new part inI apologize about any misunderstandings but we had advised the customer that there was going to be a diagnostic charge when it involved taking things apart from vehicleWe at aamco repair things by the book and correctlyWe discussed the pricing with the customer before proceeding with the workUpon his agreement and authorization, we completed the work just as promised

I received a closing notice on the above referenced complaint but I was unable to locate the prior emailsI contacted the independent AAMCO franchise in SCharleston WV and spoke to the OwnerHe was unaware of any complaint involving the subject Jeep and advised that it was brought to his
shop last month with a complaint of a noise coming from the front wheelAAMCO of SCharleston confirmed that the right front wheel bearing required replacement and obtained authorization to replace the wheel bearing for an agreed parts and labor chargeTax was added to the bill at pickupThe owner of this business is unaware of any subsequent problem with the vehicle and reports that the grinding and popping noise was corrected with this repairHe has agreed to contact his customer and follow up with any required action but he does not accept any responsibility for any other issue with the vehicle that was not included in his repairFeel free to call me with any questions. *** ***Director, Consumer Support

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Well that is the first apology to have been offered. This matter will have to remain as an unresolved complaint. Hopefully future customers will not encounter same issues (namely having oil drained out without replacement on hand).]Regards,*** ***

I spoke with Dale, the Manager from the *** *** ***, Prospect Park, PA *** AAMCO Location on July 2, and he told me to come to
the franchise and sign a document to release a part on my carThe original COST was $after my first complaint he discounted some of the expense totaling $With my signature I am giving AAmco the authorization to release my computer part and have it rebuilt by a guy that Dale knows in TexasDale assured me that it will take three business days to rebuild the computer and once received Dale and his team will run tests on my car againOn July 3rd,during my lunch break I went the franchise and signed the documents like dale asked. He mentioned to me that he received a letter about my complaint that’s in process and I told him kindly once I receive my car in good condition I will rescind a positive letter to the AAMCO Corporation and Revdex.comFive days pass and I received a phone call from dale stating that the only way he will send off my part is if I rescind my complaint letters to the AAmco Corporation and Revdex.com first then they would release the part for repair. I called MrsCharlene from the AAmco complaint department about this complaint and she said she would reach out to the Franchise

Revdex.com spoke to Dwayne at business and the following was relayed: We installed a used transmission at his request. It was defective and we had to wait to get a replacement. We were sent 3 bad transmissions. His car was fixed under warranty, he felt it was not fast enough. His transmission was rebuilt...

at no charge and he has had his vehicle for a while now.

Complaint[redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Wasn't suppose to be charged for diagnostic because I informed the worker(Jason & Owner) that the problem was the ignition switch. Also,Jason called me an stated that the housing was  not salvageable because it was broken.Which is a lie..When I got to the shop to pick up my vehicle.I asked to see the part that was broken.Upon look & inspecting the part..Realized the housing was in good workin condition & only the Actuator Rod was broken. Another guy who worked in the shop told the parts didn't come apart it was one unit which is also a lie(they are seperate parts & sold seperately also)..The Owner also charged me 289.99 for the same part I found online for 189.99..then confessed that the part only cost him 200 but he upcharged me. The Owner and his works lied to me & overcharged me. I still have the part removed from my car. It shows nothing is wrong with the housing. Just the rod was broken. It can be removed by taken out the two screws that holds it in place.
