WE seem to have two different views what really happened . its honestly he said she said. My last and final offer as a customer goodwill would be to do alignment at my green location at no charge. I as a operations manager have worked on these cars for over 20 years and if you have a alignment issue to the magnitude she is explaining it certainly does not take two months to notice it more like  you would have noticed upon departure of my parking lot. With that being said we would have addressed a alignment issue had a customer  presented it to us in a timely matter not "two months later".  I will also offer customer tires at my cost and free installation also as a good will.  I feel there was a miscommunication between my csm and customer and nothing more than that.  [redacted]  operations mgr aamco tcc

Review: Worst shop on the planet by far. Took my truck there for a tranny rebuild which then took them over a month to do with nothing but excuses on why it was taking so long. less than a year later It was acting up, I wanted to take it elsewhere but the owner said he owns all the aamco's in the area and the Slidell store is his best one. He convinced me that he was going to make it right so I brought it in. after 7 (YES 7) months of breaking more and more under the hood, my truck has a running problem and stays in limp mode, none of which were a problem when it went in. They finally gave up and gave it to ford hoping that if they wouldn't pay the bill, ford would lien sell it off. aamco corporate had them pay their bill so I could pick up my truck. I now have it with more problems than when it went in and they want nothing to do with it. They claim it's my fault so they wont have to pay for the damages. They only covered 3 months (the last 3 they had it) of having a rental car that I got at a discount through my company discount program for them, so obviously they realized they are guilty of messing up my truck, now, they don't want to pay for having it fixed elsewhere and wont return phone calls. (This is just a real general and brief description of the poor mechanic work and damage done)Desired Settlement: I would like this business to just pay for the damages they caused and make good on the warranty with which I originally brought the vehicle in for.

Review: My transmission was put in on January 27, 2014 and after a month it was returned with trans. Rebuilt. But the engine light was on. I told the desk clerk about the issue he said his wiring guy wasnt there and they would be in contact. Two months later I didnt hear from them and my trans. Wnt out. They towed it to shop called me two weeks later.Said it was fixed, it wasnt. I brought it back they repaired it and said it was fixed. I picked it up and noticed the engine light was still on.They claimed it was already like that. I drove it till may 31st trans. Went back out. Now they fixed it again, lost front right rimcover and put big gash on the rim and the vehicle pulls now to that side. The truck now wont get over 60 mph without shaking. It had prior front end issues, but not as severe. I called the national customer service and the told me the owner said prove they did the damage and the engine is now running rough with engine light still on.It took them til August fifth to return it.Desired Settlement: I had a transmisson under warranty, I paid twenty-five hundred for and they charged me 1300 to install it in my truck . I would like the 3800.00 that I spent.

Review: I was having trouble with my car in 8/14 and brought it into Aamco, Slidell La, and was told that I needed a new transmission. I paid for and got another transmission put in with warranty. Started having similar issue in 10/14 and brought it back to Aamco and had another transmission put in using warranty. In 12/14, same problem, brought the car back to Aamco and they installed yet another transmission using the warranty. In 1/15, similar problem, but this time the car was brought to a different location, in Baton Rouge La, and I was told that it was an electrical component for the transmission. Supposedly this was not covered under warranty so I paid to have this issue fixed. In 12/15 the car started again with the same problem so I brought it to the initial Aamco in Slidell and I was told that the overdrive had gone out so they, after a few days, ordered another transmission since the part is still covered under warranty. Because of the Christmas and New Year holiday, the part still haven't gotten here to be installed. During all this inconvenience, I am paying to get a rental car or some form of transportation. I asked Aamco's corporate and well as Aamco Slidell about me re-couping my expenses because these parts are either faulty or the mechanics aren't performing the job correctly which keeps causing this issue. I have not gotten an assurance on re-couping expenses or if these transmissions are faulty. Matter of fact, after speaking to corporate today, Greggory, he informed me that the Slidell center will be closing and to take my vehicle to another location to have them re-diagnose the car and go from there and any refunding isssues were not a part of the warranty so therefore he can't help me with this so I must take this up with the franchisee...which is the owner at the Aamco in Slidell, who as he has stated, "doors will be closing"! Not sure how true that is, because I visited that location minutes later and they were there and open.Desired Settlement: I am looking for a couple things....1)To be refunded this huge expense of needing and paying for a rental car. 2)To be assured that this job will be done right and professionally and that the part is not faulty or a trap to keep coming back in hopes of getting more money to have it fixed. And in any event that this keeps happening and as long as this part is covered and I keep incurring expenses for a rental car, that Aamco will pay such expenses.

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Aamco regarding complaint ID 11023811, however my complaint has NOT been resolved becauseBecause this business is a franchise, I was contacted by somebody in corporate who was at this location to shut it down. I did get my car serviced under warranty after having it sent to another Aamco that was nearest me. They corrected the current issue, but for how long will this last? This is nothing new; part gets replaced under warranty only to have the same problem in a few months, this is the fourth time. Also, since the Franchise was shut down in Slidell, La, I'm now stuck with an out of pocket expense that I'm told I must go after the franchisee to seek resolution for, who is now out of business. With this being said, I feel as though only half of my complaint was handled.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: Absolutely horrible! I DROVE my car to Aamco in Slidell for a simple diagnostic test. When I went to pick it up the battery was dead. After an hour and a half of them trying to figure out how to jump off my vehicle I decided to leave and told them call me when it was done. I can only pick up the vehicle on Saturday due to work schedule. They took THREE WEEKS to call me. I went to pick it up and it would not turn over. I waited another hour for them to try and get it going before I left with assurances from [redacted] the owner he would have it fixed on Monday and give me a call....THREE MORE WEEKS later I call them and they say they will check and call me back. After no call for 4 more days I decide to call corporate customer support. They say they will check into it and call me back. I have received no call and no answer now even when I call them instead. This has been almost 3 MONTHS to try and get a car I just wanted them to tell me what was wrong on. I feel like they have stolen my vehicle and have no intention of making it right. It is absolutely ridiculous to have this total lack of ethics, organization, and integrity in a company.Desired Settlement: I would like my car back in the same or better working condition as when I drove it to the business originally. If this can not be done at the shop they need to have it towed to an actual mechanic that can fix the problem they created. They are responsible for all costs associated with getting the car in original condition.

Response:

I

appreciate Mr. [redacted] concerns but He leaves out several important facts, first

he drove the car in with only second and third gear. He explained that

the car was having problems for a while and he planned to give the cat to his

sister. He stated that he had no plan of spending any major money on the

vehicle, but he stated if it was a minor repair he may fix the car. We

inspected his car explained to Mr. [redacted] that he vehicle needs a

complete transmission overhaul. I also explained that the price would

well over $2000 maybe even in the $3000 range. I gave Mr. [redacted] his

keys back and he went to leave. The car would not turn over (dead

battery) to start. Total time elapsed was about 45

minutes. I Told Mr. [redacted] that his battery was dead but I would

try and charge his vehicle so that he could take his car (at no

charge). Mr. [redacted] understood and sat in our office for at least two

hours (I understand very frustrating) waiting for his car start. After

two I and his battery would not start, I explained to Mr. [redacted] that my

battery charger must have failed and that's why his battery was not taking a

charge. I told Mr. [redacted] that I would order a new charger and try and

charge it again. Mr. [redacted] decided to go home instead of

waiting. I told Mr. [redacted] that he could leave his car until following

weekend. Once I got my new charger and charged the battery then the car

started. I put Mr. [redacted] vehicle on the side of the shop, so it would

be easy to tow or drive his vehicle home. The following weekend Mr.

[redacted] did not come to pick up his vehicle as promised. So the vehicle

sat parked at the shop for months (no charge). Eventually the Aamco

manager called Mr. [redacted] to pick up his vehicle because of lack of

space. He committed to coming over the upcoming Saturday to pick up his

car. That Saturday Mr. [redacted] came to pick up his car but the car would

not start. I again charged his battery (no charge), but the car would not

start. I told Mr. [redacted] I wasn't sure what was wrong with his vehicle

but I suspected that the fuel pump failed (not uncommon for cars that are

stored with fuel in the tank with no fuel stabilizer). I explained to Mr.

[redacted] the situation and requested that he pick the car up. At this

point I have not charge Mr. [redacted] any money for any work performed on the

car. He stated he would not pick the car up until the car was as good as

or better than when he left his car. I explained that neither I nor Aamco

was responsible for replacing neither his bad battery nor his fuel pump.

I stated that he should bring the car to a European specialist and have his car

repaired. Mr. [redacted] does not understand that the car not running (Bad

battery and probably fuel pump) was not of Aamco’s responsibility but caused

from his own negligence of not picking his car immediately. If there was some negligence on our behalf I

would certainly cover any damages.

Review: On 5/12/14 I took my car to AAMCO because it was making a noise when I turned it on that morning. [redacted] the manager called me a couple of hrs later to inform me it was the transmission. I would need a new transmission to fix the problem. He said it would cost a total of $2,800. He asked for $975 upfront to start working on the car and the rest at the end when car was fixed. On 5/22/14 he said car was ready and was paid the rest of money $1,825. He said I would experience some jolting, sudden acceleration and skipping of gears for the first couple of days but shouldn't be more than two weeks. I did notice and experience what he said. Two weeks past and the problem continued.I took the car back to Aamco and [redacted] said he would check to see if the transmission was leaking or any other problem with it. He said sometimes that can cause the symptoms to continue. He kept car for a day and called me to pick car up next day saying he found no problems with transmission. To give it another week and if problem continued to bring it back. 5/21/14 I bring car back for the same reason, still experiencing same transmission problems. Also noticed car had less power when accelerating. [redacted] said to leave car with him and he would drive it himself and see what the problem was.He called a couple hrs later and said he had replaced part on transmission (I cant recall the parts name) that would fix problem he said. Well it didn't. That week 5/27/14 I take car back to AAMCO ask to speak to [redacted] and was told by Mr. [redacted] the (owner) that [redacted] had quit a day before and no longer worked there. I came to find out that all the ties I had taken my car back to [redacted] for the reoccurring symptoms car was having was never noted on computer or notes on my file. The Owner [redacted] Apologized profusely and said he would personally handle my file and car issues and promised to fix the problem with transmission. He said he would order torque converter and reset the whole car system to its original settings. 7/8/14 Car still not fixed!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund and car fixed.

Review: Had our transmission rebuilt by AAMCO about 3 years ago, 30,000 miles on a rebuilt tranny, now the owner says it is shot. Blames it on the fact that it is a Dodge. Well, this Dodge pulled a cattle trailer & firewood for 120,000 miles before it needed to be rebuilt and has not pulled anything since it was rebuilt. I have read several reviews on this company and the owner [redacted]. and there have been several people with the same complaint. This company does not stand behind the work they do. The owner [redacted] offered to do the repairs at cost of parts, which he quotes as $1700 to $2000, but there is no way we will dole out more money on someone that has no clue on how to repair something he quotes "Dodge Diesels are my sepecialty". I think this guy is a crook and did not repair it with new parts to begin with. His business should be investigated and shut down, before he rips anyone else off!Desired Settlement: I would settle for half of the cost to have it rebuilt by a mechanic that we have now. He quoted us $1700 and we know he will stand behind his work. I doubt that [redacted] from AAMCO will have the money to repay this, but it is worth a try!

Review: This particular AAMCO replaced a failed fuel pump on my [redacted] approximately two years ago. Within four months, this pump apparently failed. With the help of a friend, we towed this vehicle back to AAMCO and had the pump replaced. Approximately three months ago, the replacement pump apparently started failing. Someone recommended that I bang on the bottom of the fuel tank to get the pump running. This worked, but only for a short duration. I continued to bang on the tank until about two weeks ago, when the vehicle failed to start for the last time. No amount of banging would start the fuel pump. I called AAMCO and asked for a quote for a genuine ** fuel pump. The proprietor told me he would get back to me. I haven't heard from him at all since that phone call. I had the vehicle towed to another mechanic, This mechanic discovered the true cause of the "failures." When AAMCO replaced the wiring connector with a new style, they simply twisted the wires together and covered the "splice" with electrical tape. One or more of the "splices" had become separated, resulting in no electrical connections to the fuel pump, thereby giving a false indication of a fuel pump failure. They also neglected to replace the O-ring that sealed the pump and tank, resulting in contamination and increasing the risk of fire. The second mechanic replaced the O-ring, and connected the wiring using butt crimp connectors, solder and shrink wrap tubing.Desired Settlement: I had to pay the second mechanic $364.35 in order to make right the haphazard work performed by AAMCO. This included $75 tow fee, $225.00 labour, and $64.35 parts. I would like this entire amount returned. I would also ask for the initial $400.00 to be returned, but am willing to prorate that, as I did have use of the vehicle for approximately two years, but less than 10,000 miles. A fuel pump should last at least 100,000 miles.

Review: We had our transmission totally rebuilt at a cost of $4000. in 10/12. 22 months and 14,000 miles later in 8/14 our transmission went out again. Wife was out of town with car. The shop in Pa. was great and wanted to help us, this shop would not even return calls to me or the shop in Pa. Did not expect them to fix for free but should have at the very least offered to help. Owner said out of warranty will not do anything. I paid top dollar to get quality work, Only last for 14,000 miles. My car is in great shape except this. STAY away from this shop, there are many Transmission shops that will do quality work. Do not get stuck like I did The shop in Pa. told me he has done this for years and years and has NEVER had a $4000.00 rebuild. Said he would have done something for us had he done the original work. Original cost for work was way higher then it should have been. No pride in their work, will not stand behind it.Desired Settlement: Some of the original cost back ($2000.00), Not all that we paid but this work should have lasted longer then 22 months/14,000 miles. We ended up selling the car for $400.00, Blue Book was $3,200.00 because I did not want to put more $$ into it. I took a big loss on the car because this work I paid for did not last. Plus I want others to understand this shop is not going to stand behind it's work and that their cost are high to begin with

At this time, I have not been contacted by AAMCO regarding complaint ID [redacted].A few other facts in the case. After the transmission was torn down to find the problem it has been found that the Torrington Bearing was not installed during the original rebuild of the transmission by Springfield Aamco and that was why the transmission failed again

Review: 3.November

Dropped vehicle off at 8:00 am and checked in with Andrew at the front desk.

6.November

Received phone call from Andrew saying that their technicians test drove my vehicle and experienced the issues that I'd described. Was told that, before anything more drastic be done, a "Drain & Fill" would be accomplished to see if a lack of transmission fluid/burnt fluid was the culprit.

7.November

Received call from Andrew stating that, during the Drain & Fill, metal shavings were found coming from the Transmission itself; was told that a total remanufacture was recommended, as the other options were "not guaranteed to fix my problem, and would possibly be an unnecessary extra cost, since a remanufacture would likely be necessary, anyway." Spoke with Jason C[redacted], the Director of Sales & Service, about working with me on the price, as I had limited financial options. He worked with me on the price a bit, and I was able to give him the authorization to: Remanufacture the transmission, replace an axle shaft, replace the front and rear mounts. I gave the authorization *only* after reassuring that this would fix my gear-shifting issues. I was required to give a "good faith payment" of $1,500; which I did.

14.November

Received a call from Andrew stating that the work had been completed, test drives had proven that my vehicle was in perfect condition, and that I could pick it up. I returned to the shop, paid the remainder ($2,009.14), and took my vehicle. While returning to work, I experienced the exact same issues as I had initially, with the car falling in-and-out of gear. I called AAMCO, got Andrew, and was told to return the vehicle to the shop; which I did. Upon returning, I waited while a technician finished working on another vehicle, then took my vehicle out on another test drive. When he returned, Mr. C[redacted] requested that I drive his technician around, as he had experienced no issue while driving, citing that it "may be a difference in driving styles". While driving the technician (whose name escapes me), he was able to experience the "fluttering", and stated that it didn't happen while he was driving. My driving style is not out-of-the-ordinary, so far as I know. When we returned to the shop, Mr. C[redacted] said that his technician agreed that the issue with the transmission/car still remained, and asked if I would leave my car with him again. I did as he requested, got a ride home, and left.

18.November

Received a call from AAMCO stating that the problem was with the "Manual Shift Adaptation", and that it was unusual for a vehicle to require it, which is why they didn't catch it (but didn't explain why they, apparently, didn't experience the issues during their test drives). They apologized, and told me that this "fix" would be free-of-charge, and take a day to complete. Once again, I agreed to the procedure, being told that this would reset the shifting to the new transmission, and would take care of the "slippage".

19.November

Received a call from Andrew that test drives had, again, shown that the most recent procedure was a success, and that my vehicle was ready for pick-up. I arrived at the shop, picked up the invoice (which included an additional Engine Motor Mount replacement that they'd "missed" during their initial replacement of the mounts), and took my vehicle. Within 10 minutes on the road, the *exact same issues* that I'd initially brought the vehicle in for resumed. I called Andrew and returned the vehicle yet again. Upon arrival at AAMCO, Mr. C[redacted] requested that I take *him* on a drive in my vehicle so that he could experience the issue. Whether it was believed that I was simply lying, or not, I don't know, but I acquiesced just the same. Within a few minutes, Mr. C[redacted] was able to experience the problem himself (again, how their test drives differed from mine, I don't know). I was told during our return trip to AAMCO that the issue was with the Transmission Control Module. My options, via Mr. C[redacted], were to let him replace the TCM (free-of-charge), or take the vehicle away, which would void the warranty on the remanufactured transmission if the continuing slippage damaged their work. Out of options, I left the vehicle for a third time.

20.November

Received a call from Jason C[redacted] that he'd over-nighted the part, and would be setting it to program overnight.

21.November

Received a call from Andrew at 4:28pm that the TCM had been installed a reprogrammed, and that *multiple* test drives had shown that the vehicle was now shifting at the manufacturer's original setting. I asked if it were possible that I could pick the vehicle up after-hours, as I work in Springfield, and could never find a ride and make it there within the 30 minutes left prior to their closing. He said that he'd leave the invoice and key under the Driver's Side floormat, and that I could pick it up whenever. I secured a ride and picked the vehicle up from AAMCO at 7:00pm. Initially, I noticed that simply moving the vehicle between Park, Drive & Reverse caused a "jump", but drove it away just the same. By 7:15pm, on the way home, the *exact same issues, once again* occurred and, having no options, as AAMCO was closed, I drove the vehicle home. I tried to contact Mr. C[redacted] via the dispatch number he'd given me on his card, and they assured me that I would receive a call this evening. By 9:00pm, I called the dispatch number again, and they said that they'd page Mr. C[redacted] a second time. At 9:30pm, I received a call from someone who worked in the Fairfax AAMCO office (whose name I cannot remember) saying that he'd been paged for me. I told him that I was a customer of the Woodbridge office, and that I was trying to get a hold of Jason C[redacted]. He said, "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to call you." and hung up the telephone. I re-called the dispatch office, and they apologized, but the number they'd been paging was the one they had on file. I took to sending an e-mail to [redacted]@aamco.com, and called it a night.

23.November

I returned the vehicle to the AAMCO parking lot, with a note and my keys in the drop box, asking to be called first thing, and stating that my problems continued.

24.November

Having not received a phone call by 9:30am, I called AAMCO and got Andrew. He said that they'd received my note and keys, and that he was going to "have someone jump on the vehicle as soon as he was done with another service they had in the bay." I expressed that I needed to receive a call *today* as to what is going on with my vehicle, as I was now going on a month without a car. He said, "Definitely. Okay, sounds good."

Spoke to a C. W[redacted] (possibly “Charlene”) with AAMCO Customer Service Complaints ([redacted].com) and gave her the series of events, as well as the Invoice Numbers for the various repairs. She told me that the shop was being generous, which I rebutted by saying that while the people at the shop were very nice, there has been a divide between niceness and competence. She assured me that she would call them and “urge them to fix the vehicle properly” (why would anyone NEED that kind of urging in a reputable company?), and that she would get their version of events and call me back this afternoon.

Never received a return phone call from C. W[redacted].

Received a phone call from Andrew at around 5:00pm stating that he, and other technicians took the vehicle on test drives and could not reproduce the issue.

25.November

Had my father call AAMCO, as I was indisposed with work, and they told him that they could not reproduce the issue, and that the vehicle was fixed. Father will pick up the vehicle this afternoon and ask them to sign a document stating that the vehicle is fixed, and that driving on this transmission will *not* void the warranty.

I know, for a fact, that my vehicle is not "fixed", as they say. They have been taking shots in the dark since day one, and simply replacing things that they *think* might be the problem. I can't just leave my job every time they tell me that the vehicle is fixed, so that I can drive them around and show them, for the THIRD TIME that the issues still remain. Mr. C[redacted] simply states that "he can prove that the transmission was bad," but this does not make a difference, because whether or not the transmission was "bad", it clearly was not the cause of my original problem that I requested be fixed.Desired Settlement: AAMCO is required to accomplish the job that I paid them to do. Before agreeing to a single repair, I was assured that it would fix my issue (gear slippage). As the issue has not been resolved, I only ask that they finish what they agreed to, to begin with, or refund my money for me to take the vehicle to another shop, or the manufacturer, where someone will actually look at the vehicle and use their expertise to determine what the problem actually is, instead of simply guessing.

Review: Purchased a [redacted] "Power Purge Transmissin Flush" for $84.00. Made appointment and arrived at AAMCO at appointed time and date. Was informed the power purge would take 2 hours. While observing technician from outside the bay area, I could see almost no activity around my vehicle. The tecnician assigned the task to service my vehicle was observed attending to other vehicles in the shop. after 2 hours of the service advisor, Brandi, informed me that the technician had found coolant in the trnsmisison line. She then recommended a "Safegard Service" which includes removal of the transmission pan and inspection. Brandi, reported that coolant in the transmisison line indicates a bad radiator. A standard transmission oil echange includes the removal of the pan in order to replace the transmission oil filter. AAMCO is using the [redacted] $84.00 service as a bait and switch opportunity in order to falsely switch the consummer to a extremely expensive and not needed service. I declined the bait and switch offer and took my vehicle immeadiately to the [redacted] Dealership directly across the street from AAMCO. I asked them to verify the findings of AAMCO. [redacted] of [redacted] cold find no evidence that the transmission lines had ever been removed from my vehicles radiator. [redacted] inspected and then performed a "power Purge" of the tranmission. No faults or issues were discovered during this process.Desired Settlement: Let the general public be made aware of the deceptive practive that AAMCO is employing to lure unsespecting customers into their clutches. Business similar to AAMCO have used this type of Bait and Switch for decades with impunity. This practice must stop.

Review: I took my truck to get the transmission fixed. They fixed other things that I didnt ask. Also things happended to my truck while it was there that they fixed and making me pay for. They told me I have 60 days to pay the close to 4300. It has not even been 2 weeks and they are adding 25 a day on top of that. And now they are saying the are going to take a lean out on my truck and have it towed away and make me pay for that and a fine for abandoning my truck.Desired Settlement: I want my truck and just pay for what I asked them to fix. Not everything else.

Then I was quated a price of $2900 now they said they will need an additional $650 for anyother problem. I have been without my car for 14 days to date 9-9-2014. I was never told it would take this long nor cost this much to fix.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refuned any extra expense over the cost of the new transmition & extra laber costs

September 20, 2014This letter is in response to your letter of September 11, 2014 regarding a complaint to your office filed by [redacted], Revdex.com Complaint [redacted].Background[redacted] brought his car into our Center on August 28, 2014. After diagnosis, he authorized a Remanufactured transmission on September 3. He was told 2-3 day build and then a 2day ship. ETA 9/8/14. The transmission was put into the car over Sept 9 and 10. Because of not meeting our shifting standards, a second remanufactured transmission was ordered on 9/12. This 2nd transmission unit was installed on September 15th, verified and delivered to the customer, [redacted] on Sept 16.On September 15, the day before delivery of his car, [redacted] came into our shop, made a public scene, stating the car took too long and the repair cost too much, even though he authorized the price a week ago. He loudly told other waiting customers in our shop to get out, never do business with us, and he will cancel his check as soon as he gets his vehicle returned. As a measure of customer satisfaction, we put an axle shaft that the customer had previously authorized, at 550.00 into the vehicle and waived the charges. When asked if he would be happy at this gesture of customer care, he was very satisfied and left smiling and shaking hands. The very next day, as the car was returned to [redacted], he acted as though the previous day's conversation had never happened. Angry again - he complained to other customers in our waiting area that they should get out now and that he would cancel the credit card charges for this payment.SummaryThe $845.00 referred to in [redacted]'s complaint was actually part of the complete price for repair which he was quoted - not an addition. Once the transmission was removed, it was discovered that his vehicle had a broken intermediate half axle. He was immediately informed of the broken component, offered the repair at $550,00 (he stated $650.00 in his complaint), and our strongest recommendation to repair it, which he did authorize. He mentioned this in his complaint to the Revdex.com, as though we added this without his prior consent. We have a proper authorization from [redacted] to replace a part in his car that was broken. It could not be seen until the transmission was removed.[redacted] came into our shop yelling that we had taken longer than he expected to repair his vehicle, though we had made no promises for a certain date. As the first transmission did not operate to our standards, we had to acquire and install and test another. Though there was an unfortunate delay, we could not give him his car without a transmission. Lastly, even though he disrupted our shop, and told our customers to leave because they should never do business with us, and stated to them that he was going to cancel the credit charge right after he gets his car back, I still made an accommodation to satisfy the customer. I removed the $550.00 charge for the intermediate half axle and asked if that would satisfy him. [redacted] calmed down that afternoon, but came in the very next day to pick up the car as if we never spoke, angry and yelling again, threatening to cancel the credit charge on his [redacted], until asked him if that was indeed what he planned to do. He then answered No, paid his bill and left the shop.I feel that we have went to extremes in tolerating his behavior, in letting him use his charge card, and in putting in the expensive component at no charge in order to Create good will.Sincerely,Thomas HOwner Aamco of [redacted]
