Aamco Reviews (73)

I just wanted to give you a final summary of events that occurred
with Aamco transmissions. They continually denied any warranty coverage due to
being past the 12 month period even though such a low usage amount  and mileage
amount. I had my father in law contact their cooperate offices in PA, I believe.
They did offer a half price rebuild of roughly 1300.00.  They tried to say that
the faulty workmanship was due to a previous owner. I had said that the present
owner was the one that jerked me around the first time. they were full of
excuses and denied any  responsibility. The cooperate office contacted my father
in law and said I gave them the okay to commence work, which NEVER occurred. I
called the shop and told them no such conversation had happened. This took place
on Thurs July 17th. They proceeded to tell me my truck was to be removed from
their premises on Tue July 15th. I was told to have it removed by Fri July 18th
or they would start charging for it being on the lot. I had the truck towed once
again to another shop and am awaiting news about the transmission rebuild in
question. They offered no cooperation unless I were to pay them to fix their own
faulty product. They have ruined any further chances of my business or anyone I
know due to the poor all around service and customer relations. Thank you again
for all you've done

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It appears they are once again grasping at straws on the issue. I have one valid question. If this question gets answered properly and accurately then I will submit to leaving AAMCO alone.   In their vast experiance and knowledge of transmissions they are telling everyone and believe that crack has everything to do with the performance of the transmission I.E. it wont go into reverse. I want someone to tell me that that little fracture changed all of the work they did and made the transmission inoperable, "without lying".  The truth is, [redacted] is still mad I went to corporate and has gone from professional to a personal issue. I could have lied and said the crack was there when I went to install the transmission after picking it up from the establishment, I didn't. I was honest and for that I am being crucifide. I will stay honest. If I was trying to cover something up I would have done just that, Lied. I just want someone to grow up so I can get my transmission fixed correctly. It has been 2 1/2 months now and they are hoping I go away. I wont until its made right. Until I can drive my vehicle without flaw from the transmission they screwed up.  Thank you [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] and everyone else for the smoke and mirrors. The transmission could have been right by now with all of the effort that is being put into the lies.

I am working with this customer and his father to resolve this problem. I hope to  have more info next week.

AAMCO Transmission

I am [redacted] representing Aamco transmission and total car care and this is our side of story as we seen it. For the most part our stories match however  Mr. [redacted] has left out many details such as when he installed the...

transmission he didn't get it lined up to bell housing and torque convertor and ended up putting so much pressure on transmission case that the case cracked. After this he noticed he had made this mistake he took transmission somewhere and had case welded then reinstalled to find something was damaged. At this point he brings transmission back to my store states it does not work also at time not mentioning that he had cracked transmission  and had it welded for it was not noticeable from great weld and paint job to cover it up. So our builder inspects transmission to find crack in case which possible could have damaged transmission. We call customer and report our findings and at first he denies to making weld repair so my manager terminates phone call because he feels customer is being deseptive and gets me involved. I make a call to the gentleman and explain our process for tear down and inspections on transmission and that it would have been impossible for us to have missed a crack in transmission, he now at this point tells me the truth and also tells me that that damage he made in no way would have caused damage to unit . Now all things considered  we still offer to help him out and offer to  get him on road even though this wasn't a workmanship issue on our part. With corporate attorney [redacted]  and myself and customer on a three way conference call we offered to completely redo the transmission using parts from broke case unit and his used case and only charge him a additional 250 dollars in labor as a customer good will, Mr [redacted] at this point started using profanity at both of us so we terminated phone call. We at Aamco strive for great customer service and would love to resolve this complaint with him within reason.

OPERATIONS MANAGER NEO AUTOMOTIVE AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS

THIS IS A RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT OF [redacted].  I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE MANAGER OF THIS INDEPENDENTLY OWNED AND OPERATED AAMCO CENTER.  ON BEHALF OF THE OWNER, [redacted] THE MANAGER APOLOGIZES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS CUSTOMER HAS EXPERIENCED.  I WAS ADVISED...

THAT THEY FEEL ALL THE ISSUES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED.  THE CANTON CENTER IS REFUNDING THE TOW, FIXING THE TAIL LIGHT AND REPLACING THE COOLER LINE ALL AT NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER.  THEY NOTE THAT FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE COOLER LINE ARE RUBBER HOSES.  BECAUSE MR. [redacted] OBJECTED, THEY ARE REPLACING THE LINE WITH METAL.  ALSO PLEASE NOTE THE THE COOLER LINES ARE EXTERNAL TO THE TRANSMISSION AND NORMALLY NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY.  AS A GOODWILL GESTURE, IN THE INTEREST OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION THE ITEMS NOTED ARE BEING REPAIRED AND REPLACED AT NO CHARGE TO MR. [redacted].
WE APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS THIS CUSTOMER'S CONCERNS.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME.

Mr. [redacted] states that he did
not...

authorize AAMCO to establish credit in his name for the repair of his
mother's automobile. He applied for a [redacted] Bank credit card over the phone
with my manager. To receive this line of credit he gave my manager the following
information:
1.     The High School he graduated from
2.     His Social security #
3.     Date of birth
4.     Driver's License#
5.     Driver's License expiration date
6.     His address
7.     Income information
8.     Plus other questions
He also contacted the manager to ensure when the
vehicle would be completed and that the repairs would be under the credit
limit. It is obvious that Mr. [redacted] knew he
was applying for credit to repair his mother's vehicle.

The vehicle was originally brought in on 6/26/16 for a transmission rebuild. The work came with a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty. She just brought it back on 2/8/18. She was out of warranty for almost 8 months. She also was out of warranty as far as the miles are concerned. We understand she is...

upset and we offered to meet her in the middle and help with the repair but we cannot fix it for free. She was not happy with that response, but we did offer it in good faith.

Please be advised that I do NOT own AAMCO Transmission on Princeton Ave, Lawrenceville, NJ with effect from June 2010. Please remove my info from your record and direct the issue to the appropriate person. Kausar B[redacted]

Unfortunately the cost of repairs has nothing to do with the value of a vehicle.  If you were to replace every part on an average car it would cost over $100,000.   The customer was advised prior to the tow that if they chose not to have us work on their car they would be responsible...

for the tow.  The customer did not have us work on their car therefore they are responsible for the tow.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Note that he lied about recommending the alignment and my friend who was with me can verify that he offered to do the alignment for $90 not $45. I will definitely never go there again. They have proven to be inconsiderate liers. I will definitely tell everyone I know. Let people know that they will lie to you and anyone who you talk to about them. I would've never refused an alignment if it had been explained to me that and why I needed it at the time of my service.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Their account is not correct. What really happened...

was the following:On April 3, 2017, I called AAMCO because I was having trouble with my transmission. They sent a tow to pick up my vehicle from my residence to their shop. When they first inspected my car, I was told it needed a new transmission (quoted a little over 1800). I told them I didn't have that money so they suggested financing. All that week I was playing phone tag with them, trying to find out if my financing had been approved. At this point I was told that they just had to "run the financing approval", leading me to believe that it was guaranteed. However, I was still worried that it would be declined so I told them time and time again, to not do work on the car until the financing was approved. At that point I was told they were "behind on other repairs".By now, my car had sat at their shop for an entire week and they would never call me with an update. I had to constantly call them, even though they kept saying they'd call me.Later on, Monday the 10th of April, I was told that in order to get a proper quote for financing, they had to thoroughly inspect my vehicle. To which I conceded. Later on that same day a man by the name of Nick called me and gave me a breakdown of repairs. The cost then shot up to over $3,000. AT that point I specifically told him to NOT do the repairs unless I was approved for financing because I couldn't pay for it otherwise. I repeated this several times throughout the conversation. Nick then told me that Jason would call me back in 5 minutes to get my information to run the financing. Jason never called me. Yesterday, April 11th, I called Jason and asked about doing the financing, and he did it at that point. Later on that day he called me to tell me that I had gotten rejected and asked if I had a co-signer. I told Jason, "I will call you back first thing tomorrow morning with my final answer because I'll have to see if I can or cannot get a cosigner."Later that night, knowing that I would not be able to get a cosigner, I made arrangements to junk the vehicle. This morning, April 12th, I called AAMCO to find out how much I would have to pay for the tow and the inspection work and to inform them that I was going to junk the car. That's when Jason told me THEY DID the repairs to my car and are now trying to stick me for over $3,000.00 in repair fees. The mechanic, Nick, claims that he has me on a recording saying that he COULD do the work on the car. This is what Jason claims he said. So, I told Jason, "Well, if that is true, THE GET THE RECORDING AND PLAY IT! Then you'll really hear what I said SEVERAL TIMES during the conversation, which was that I needed the financing."I did not authorize them to do any repairs on my vehicle verbally or in writing, because (1) there was no guarantee I would get financing (2) I never even made it to their store as I did not have a way to get there. It is very unethical what they have done and I should not be held liable for work I DID NOT authorize; verbally OR written. There's nothing which has my signature or anything like that, nothing that shows that I ever agreed to anything other than them diagnosing the car and trying to get my financing approved.

To whom it may concern,      I [redacted] operation manager with AAMCO total car care actually had the pleasure of...

serving this customers needs on the invoice and day in question. Ms. [redacted] had a 12:00  appointment which she showed up at 12:12 which we never hold it against a custome due the fact we understand circumstances. She initially was very pleasant we explained her car need a special grade oil 0w20 and costs would be increased for that oil she gladly accepted to continue service she was explaine the service would take 45 min for completion. Never did she communicate she was on a time constraint or lunch break until the end of the service. Approximately 12:45 Ms. [redacted]  started to become upset because she felt we were a 15 min lube center which we are not nor want to be. She was final billed out at 12:56 which was 44 min from time of her original intake so we were very efficient. She before she left asked my manager if she could get oil change for free of which he asked me and I refused there was no basis for whichshe was due a free oil change. I feel this is a case of buyers remorse and we followed process to a tee. Later that day she called me and asked once again for charges to be refunded and again I refused at this point she threatened Revdex.com and hung up.                                      ... sincerely                                         ... Hello,
My name is [redacted]. I filed the complaint [redacted] on 25.November. I have since resolved the matter with AAMCO ([redacted]), and would like to close the complaint. Unfortunately, I see no way of doing that through the website, the complaint page, or in response to the message I received on my "profile" stating that the business has been contacted. I tried to call your phone number, but was told that "there were no operators" by the automated service. Please close this complaint. If verification is needed, I can be reached at this e-mail address (the same I used to file the complaint), or by phone at ###-###-####.

sans-serif;">I spoke with Dale, the Manager from the [redacted], Prospect Park, PA [redacted] AAMCO Location on July 2, 2015 and he told me to come to the franchise and sign a document to release a part on my car. The original COST was $900 after my first complaint he discounted some of the expense totaling $563. With my signature I am giving AAmco the authorization to release my computer part and have it rebuilt by a guy that Dale knows in Texas. Dale assured me that it will take three business days to rebuild the computer and once received Dale and his team will run tests on my car again. On July 3rd,2015 during my lunch break I went the franchise and signed the documents like dale asked. He mentioned to me that he received a letter about my complaint that’s in process and I told him kindly once I receive my car in good condition I will rescind a positive letter to the AAMCO Corporation and Revdex.com. Five days pass and I received a phone call from dale stating that the only way he will send off my part is if I rescind my complaint  letters to the AAmco Corporation and Revdex.com first then they would release the part for repair. I called Mrs. Charlene from the AAmco complaint department about this complaint and she said she would reach out to the Franchise.

To whom it may concern,I [redacted] operations manager with AAMCO total car care spoke with several family members with the [redacted] family yesterday of which non were cordial with me what...

so ever. Call#1 was with [redacted] explaining her issues with her transmission and asking if it were under warranty, after doing research on repair made on 02/26/15 I found a invoice on a transmission repair we made. The customer was advised the transmission really needed a complete overhaul and she stated she could not afford that which a estimated cost on this overhaul was $3000 dollars. Customer requested we only repair exactly what was broken inside and reseal transmission for she only had $1100 dollars to work with. So we did make repair as per her request also advising he that due to fact were doing a temporary repair there would be no warranty. At this point she got irate because I didn't tell her what she wanted to hear hung up on me . Call #2 A man that identified himself as her father cursed and cussed me out and said id I didn't overhauledtransmission he was going to file law suit on us then hung up. 2Min later and #3 call Was a lady identifying herself as [redacted]'s mother she was very sweet at first the again when I told her it was not warrantied she wouldn't let me get a word in the conversation edgewise . After 20 min of her ranting and rudeness  I made a offer for resolve we would be willing to apply the 1176.33 she spent on temporary repair towards a complete overhaul. That is as far as we are willing to go with this period.                                         ... Sincerely,                                   ... [redacted]

In regards to window repair,The customer came in with window not working and had his own motor to install. When installing motor the reulator was also broken , he purchased our reulator and usedHis motor , we only charged him 1.5 in labor when we spent at least 3 hours on repair. After install the...

window worked but would slow down at the top about in inch from closing. We informed customer the either the window frame was worped or the glass could be wrong for car.He only wanted his money back and didnt want to pursue any further repair options. We showed him if we lubed the window frame with dry lube window would go all the way up.Problem not with what we did further repair is needed. His motor and our regulator is working.   Thank You [redacted]Manager AAMCO[redacted]

to whom it may concern,I can not find resolution with this customer in reguards to this repair order. This is a privately owned store and you have reached the operations manager for these locations so there will be no escalating to a "higher level" I the customer chooses to no longer be a customer we are sad to here that but do understand. The processes were all followed she authorized repairs there will be no refund due to fact we can not find any negligence on our behalf. With that being said we do not have a time guarantee and sometimes jobs can take longer than expected we truly apologize for your misunderstanding of this. We thankyou so much for your opinions and will take them under advisement for future.                                    ... [redacted]
