Review: This company asks you to give a detailed inventory list then gives you a very low estimate. Once your items arrive at your new address they hold them in the truck till you agree to pay a much higher charge adding on numerous hidden fees that were never disclosed like gas, tolls, credit card processing fee, unneeded packing supply's. My estimate was $763 and I ended up moving less furniture. In the end I got stuck paying $1200Desired Settlement: I would like undisclosed fees refunded totaling approx $427

Response:

[redacted]

Revdex.com,

Our customer, [redacted], states that he was over charged based

on undisclosed

charges the day of the move. This is completely false. [redacted] signed

all the paperwork

acknowledging the start and finish times and the rate per hour.

The day before the move, based on the increase in inventory that is on

the same documentation,

we added a mover and the rate. The day of the move [redacted] signed for

the 4 men and the truck

@139.00 per hour and we performed the move in the estimated amount of time.

There is absolutely no basis for his complaint and he was only charged

for the time he used,

the packing material necessary for a successful move and the tolls the day

of the move.

Thank you in advance,

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response from Ace is false, I was talked into adding a 4th man and was told this would reduce the hours. I even helped the movers personally as a fifth man and the hours were not reduced. My inventory list was also reduced from 2 beds down to one and from 2 desks down to one. The bill and paper work was not presented to me till the truck arrived at the destination and they would not unload till I agreed to the charges and paid in full. They held my stuff hostage. There were many additional fees added that were never disclosed in the estimate!

Review: Although all moving items were picked up at 2 locations on time, from that point forward this company did NOTHING but make false statements regarding the delivery of the items and when it could be "expected".When we first were in the process of hiring this moving company, we gave them a list of the items that they would be moved and they came back with an estimate and which ended up to be a "low ball" estimate. When I then questioned them about the estimate allowance and what others have allowed, I was told that "we pack our trucks very tight and others don't". We were estimated to take up 238 Cubic feet, when they were done packing the truck,we were now at 550 cubic feet and although we did have a few more boxes then originally counted on, there is no way we doubled the items! We were told that the "estimated" delivery would either be late the next day after pick up or at worst the following morning; the items showed up 2 days later, 8:30 at night after we had incurred flight change expenses, hotel and food expenses since we had nothing to sleep or cook with. Not 1 phone call was ever made by us from this company during this whole disaster, we had to call them, including the [redacted] of the company being rude and screaming at my wife, never apologizing for the delay and never stating why this occurred. After all charges were agreed upon and paid in full, they then told us, "oh by the way, they added wrong and we still owed yet more money and had to pay that in cash or certfied check or they wouldn't finish the josb of bringing the items inside. There is NO WAY that this company should have a good rating with you or be recommended by the Revdex.com!I would be real surprised if you don't get more of these letters regarding this company considering we were only a small part of this truck and its delayed delivery. Please do something about this company, they should not be allowed to stay in business.Desired Settlement: We incurred the following expenses:$2,448 Moving$ 239 Hotel (2 nights)$ 728 Flight change expenses (2)$ 295 Meals for 2 days for 6 peopleTotal:$3,710 (and this doesn't allow for all expenses incurred)

Business

Response:

I am sorry to hear that the customer where upset with the move, but to come up with false accusation doesn't do any good to us or to this industry.

customer had a lot more than just few more boxes , they actually doubled the amount easily, and they acknowledge it on pick up day, which by the way restrict us from loading another customer due to space shortage.

customer was aware of the method of payment on delivery location prior to arrival

we take pride of being only two days late on a long distance moves, other companies I heard have a delays of 3-4 weeks or more.

customer was never giving an exact day for deliver, we do not guaranty delivery date . we gave a window of 2-3 days for arrival and have the driver call the customer 24 hours prior.

therefore I will not refund any money back to customer.

thank you in advance

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Once again the business is not telling the truth. Yes, we had more boxes than originally indicated, but we also had less furniture. The complaint involves the fact that the person we were dealing with indicated to us that we would have our belongings either late Saturday or at worst on Sunday. It also invloves the fact that we were told that after the truck left our house for the final pick up, it was going straight to the depot where the truck was "waiting for our belongings to be loaded". As we later learned NO ONES belongings were ever loaded onto the tractor.

They also state that "we give a window of 2-3 days- this was NEVER stated to us and if it was, I would have never agreed to use this carrier. They also state that the "driver would call the customer 24 hours in advance- that TOO never happened. ALL phone calls were made by us to either the company or eventually the driver.

This company showed POOR customer service and should never be recommended to anyone.

Thank you for your consideration.

Response:

[redacted],

We are going to answer this complaint once more but we are definitely

repeating the same answers.

The customer readily admits that there were additional boxes but if he

goes back to the inventory list and the estimate there are additional pieces

of furniture too. The customer was only charged for the space they used.

In the first complaint, the customer stated that the primary problem

was the delivery time..The delivery was in 4 days, which is EXTREMELY

timely. The customer in his own words knows that we did NOT GUARANTEE a

delivery date because he states that a different company did. We did load

these goods directly on the truck but it did take 24 hour to complete the

loading. The customer knew that this was a consolidated shipment and that we

were not going to leave NY until all of the customers were loaded onto the

trailer.

As far as the customer service aspect of the conversation with the

customers wife. The conversation became uncivil only after the customer

became hostile on the phone.

Ace moving picked up the shipment on the proper date, only charged for

the space used and properly and delivered in 4 days. This was a very

successful move.

Thank you,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Dear [redacted]:

Once again, I will state that whoever is doing this responding is not the one I was dealing with, because if it was they would know the TRUTH as to what was said and when it was said and I have most of the emails to prove it! The driver who came to our house stated to me that the main shipper was waiting for his truck since that was going to be the last thing loaded onto the truck and that as soon as it was tranferred, it would leave. We later found out that the truck didn't leave until 2 days later. Regarding the conversation being "uncivil" we were driving in the car and the phone was on speaker with not only my wife hearing the conversation, but also my daughter, her friend and myself listening in on that conversation and it was the person on the other end (who claimed to be the [redacted]) who became extremely rude and loud before my wife then became annoyed and raised her voice as well. I will repeat myself once again- this company should not be part of the Revdex.com and should have their license pulled and business shut down for the way they scam customers with their low ball numbers in their "estimates".

Review: Dear Sir:

I recently hired Ace Moving & Storage, Inc. located at [redacted] to move my furniture to Kissimmee, Florida. They quoted me a price of $2000-2400 which triple to over $7000 when they arrived at my home. I left several pieces behind which brought the price down to $5712. I was unprepared for the added expense, so I gave them 2 payments totaling $4,412 upon departure on Thursday, 10/**/15. I was told by the salesperson named Ronnie, the chief in charge of packing named Michael and the company manager named Eli that my furniture would arrive on Monday, Nov. *, 2015.

On Monday, Nov[redacted] 2015 my husband called the owner to find out the arrival time for our furniture. He told us the furniture hadn’t left New York and when questioned about why he said that, he was told that, we were lucky it was loaded on the truck. I don’ t understand why he was so rude since we were told it would arrive that day and they refused to even leave till they got the required deposit even though the price quoted doubled.

I and my family had no clothes, bedding, appliances, or place to sit or sleep. Due to back problems, elderly mom with broken foot, I had to purchase blow up mattresses, chairs, and spend additional monies that I was unprepared for. The company refused to compensate us in anyway for the late delivery.

I will never recommend or use them again. The movers are good men who are overworked immigrants and underpaid. We had to pay guaranteed tip of $400 for 3 NY movers, 2 older men and 1 young man. I tipped movers in Florida $200 because it was only 1 young man & 1 older man moving everything. I felt so sorry for them.

Please check this company’s business practices and how they treat their movers.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I hope I will receive some kind of refund for the late delivery of my furniture.

Sincerely, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Compensation on delivery charge of $300 for items bought to accommodate late delivery of belongings.

[redacted], We are in receipt for a complaint dated 11/**/2015 from [redacted]. Theprimary complaint was for "the late delivery of my furniture". In reality, their first date of delivery was for 11/**/2015. Wedelivered on Wednesday 11/**/2015. When our customer used the 2nd as theirfirst date of delivery, it meant that we could not get it there before thatdate..From the first date of delivery the average delivery time is within3-5 business days and we delivered at 2 days. We contacted the customerthroughout the move and they were well aware of the delivery time. As far as the relationship between Ace Moving and their employees, thiscrew has been with Ace for over 5 years and reports being very happy withtheir jobs. Thank you for the email, only through customer reviews can we improveour customer relations. All the best,Ace Moving and Storage

above mentioned customer. She states that “The delivery date was NOV * it was never

NEVER guarantee the Delivery date is why we always state that the delivery is

Review: When I initially contacted this company for an estimate to move my belongings from Brooklyn, NY to Augusta, GA and carefully detailing everything that needed to be moved, I was given an estimate of 50-539 cubic feet $1750. I continuously tried to ask [redacted] at the office to compare a moving truck space with 500 cubic feet to help me get a better picture of the space but was told there On 08/**/2013 when the movers arrived, the estimate now DOUBLED!!!! I had to end up leaving behind a queen sized bed, a new weights set and brand new birthday gifts for my sons (electric bike and electric go kart). Even with leaving those behind my total bill came to $3200 using 950 cubic feet. I was also told by both [redacted] in the office and the mover who picked up my furniture that I would receive my belongings within 3-7 days from pick up date of 08/**/2013. Well here we are 12 days later and STILL NO DELIVERY. The first excuse was the Labor Day holiday delayed the packing of the trailer, then they couldn't get in contact with the dispatcher. Every time I call the days get changed from Tuesday/Wednesday to the latest not before the weekend. When asked hat this meant I was obviously given another run around because I demanded a more specific time and was then told delivery will happen between 09/**/2013-09/**/2013. So here we are, my husband, 2 children ( ages 10 and 2) and myself, no clothes, furniture, bed, blankets, spending more money to have to purchase certain items because I was told 3-7 days. Now it's stretched to 19 days.Desired Settlement: DELIVERY OF MY BELONGINGS! I want an adjustment to my outrageous bill because I accurately told what items would be shied and believe I was purposely lied to regarding the cubic footage I would need in order or get my business. In addition, the 3-7 days for delivery has obviously not been abided by and has caused me and my family hardship and to continuously spend even more money as we await our belongings.

Review: Hi, I hired Ace Moving and Storage for my move out of my apartment on [redacted]. I spoke to [redacted], Ace customer service rep, after I discovered a hole in the wall behind the front door (I didn't notice until the movers had left and been paid). It seems they slammed the front door into the wall or something and the doorknob went through the wall. Please tell me what you can do to resolve the matter. I have contacted them a few times regarding the damage and (as they requested) given them an estimate for repair. However, I am now getting dismissed because the foreman is denying any damage. If there is damage to the apartment I cannot get my security deposit back, and I know for a fact that this hole was not there before the move. Thank you, [redacted]

Response:

To Whom It May Concern: ID [redacted]

This is to confirm that the movers didn't damage any wall at [redacted], there were other people working on the same building. No compensation will be awarded.

Ace moving

Review: I got evicted in the first week of January this year. I was living in my apartment in Brooklyn but for some weird reason the landlord chose to send my belongings to a storage unit all the way in queens.

I called up the facility and they told me the month of January is cover for. I payed Febuary's rent which $250 after paying the rent they told me that I could no access the facility , because my belongings are being stored in a share wharehouse.

But if I want to get my belongings I would have to pay them $90 per hour at a four hour minimum, or pay them $100 to deliver it outside of the facility.

This seems very strange because when you visit their website, they lost various size rooms. I even found one that is in line with the price that I'm paying.

At the beginning of the month I started to get emails for Ace that the are planning to auction off my belongings, I'm not sure if this is legal or possible because it was only a few day s in the month, it's not like I owed a month or two in rent.

I'm in a shelter right now and can't work because all my tools and equipment is in storage.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for belongs, I am a jewelry artist by trade and I have thousands of dollars of tools and equipment at ace store age.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Good Evening [redacted]

The response from Ace moving and storage is filled with [redacted], when I got evicted I was left with nothing but the clothes on my back. why would I play around with belongings?

I made one appointment with Ace and I could not honor it because I was sick and [redacted]. I tried to make another appointment but I was advise via text message that my stuff would only be kept in the facility for a few more days until they auction them off.

I responded by letting him know that I did not have the full amount.

Now if they wanted to "help" me like the claim the did, they could have come up with some form of payment arrangement.

His response was to text me to let me know that the truck is coming in the morning to take my stuff to auction.

so now I'm going by the assumption that my belongings aren't mines anymore, but base on the response from Ace they still have my stuff.

They are clearly playing games.

So my conclusion is that they are doing all this to make me think that my stuff has been auction so that I fall in arrears so that they can legally auction my stuff.

I real need to resolve this. I have legal documents that I need to get a hold of ASAP.

I suffer from [redacted] and [redacted] and cannot hangle this anymore.

I need to know from Ace what is the status of my belongings.

iIve included two text messages one from a rep from ace and another from my cousin whom I ask to call on my behalf.

Both message are showning that Ace was threaten to auction of my my belongings just 15 days into the month.

I also included a screenshot from their websit showing that they have individual storage room. I would also like ti know from them why I cannot access the unit

All I've been getting from Ace is threats and game playing]

Review: Dear Sir or Madam;

I write to you today in reference to the case number above. I firmly believe that I have been a victim of fraud and overcharging during this transaction and request you investigate and assist in a resolution. The company in question is Ace Moving & Storage: [redacted]

The move took place on 10/**/13 and consisted of packing and transport from Manhattan to St. Petersburg, Florida. The original estimate was documented and accepted by me in the amount of $1,750. Upon final delivery of my belongings in Florida, my final bill from Ace Moving & Storage was $13,390 - a 700% increase over the estimate. I will refer to the estimate, binding written estimate and bill of lading as well as several reviews and estimates from other movers. These are attached as evidence for your review in this case.

The move took place and the goods were delivered to my home in Florida. Please note that the apartment in New York is 600 square feet and the charges are for 1400 cubic feet. This is an outright falsification given the small size of the apartment. Again this is virtually impossible since that would mean every square inch of the apartment would be covered in excess of 2.4 cubic feet of contents. Additionally the bill of lading states that a piano was being moved at the destination. I do not own a piano. No piano was involved in the move, nor is one listed on the contents inventory.

Please note on the binding estimate of costs that the charges as outlined as follows:

Destination fees $7,000

Fuel Surcharge $490

Containers and packing $2,200

Delivery of________ $1,000

Blankets $700

Tip $2,000

Total $13,390

Please note that the company asked for the tip in advance while still in New York and not upon completion of the move. Clearly this was signed under duress. The bill was presented to me at 8:30 pm once the belongings were on the truck At no time did they state that the final cost would be in excess of the estimate, I was asked if I wanted to tip 15% or 20% after the contents were loaded at that late hour. This lack of notice about being over the estimate and the time of night caused extreme duress. Please also note that this is a common complaint on their reviews on [redacted] and that they threatened numerous customers with keeping their belongings and breaking them.

I would ask you to review the original estimate from Ace that was for $1,750. In bold green print on the estimate it clearly states that Furniture blanketing and padding, mileage, Weekends, Holidays, Furniture assembly and disassembly and re-assembly, Stairs, Extra Heavy and Extra bulky items are ALWAYS FREE OF CHARGE. Based upon this statement alone we respectfully request that you remove the $700 charge for blankets. We also respectfully request a reversal of the blank $1,000 delivery charge. Please also note that the estimate also states that a $100 deposit was accepted by [redacted] on 10/*/13, yet was not applied to the final tabulation of charges.

These overcharges total:

$1,000 unsubstantiated delivery fee.

$700 charge for blankets contrary to the estimate guarantee.

$100 deposit paid on 10/*/13 and not credited to the final bill.

$1,800 Total

Please also find four competing quotes obtained after this dispute began. These estimates were inflated from the Ace estimate of $1,750 from 350 cubic feet to 850-900 cubic feet to allow for variances between estimated volume and actual volume. Please note that these estimates are for;

$3,150 Chariot Van Lines

$3,160 All City Van Lines

$4,617 Roadway Moving

$2,552 All Inclusive Moving

The average estimates from other reputable moving companies was $3,369. This is less than half of the $7,000 charged as a base fee from Ace Moving and storage. The difference is $3,631. Please note that the competing estimates were based upon the final inventory list given to me by Ace Moving and Storage after completion of the move. Obviously, if I had known Ace Moving and Storage’s estimate was invalid I would have gone with another company.

We respectfully ask that you remove the following overcharges.

$1,800 stated above.

$3,631 For the difference in costs between the competing estimates and well above the $1,750 quoted by Ace. Not to mention the lack of a piano in the move outlined on the bill of lading.

$1650 Difference between tip @ 20% at $11,390 original costs and the original estimate.

$1,100 Packing and container costs at half the total charged. They listed 55 boxes on the inventory sheet. This is an average costs or $40 per box.

$8,181 Total Overcharges

I look forward to a prompt and successful resolution in this matter.

Thank you in advance for your assistance,

Business

Response:

[redacted], Mediator:

This is in response to the above named complaint. The customer named

above contracted Ace Moving and Storage to do a FULL PACK into storage move

for 10/**/2013 via phone. At the time of commitment, the customer stated

that she had very expensive furnishings that needed the best pack possible.

She also stated that the goods would be going into storage and needed to be

packed to withstand the elements in storage. There was NO onsite requested

and the estimate was based solely on items told over the phone.

Upon arrival on 10/**/2013, the foreman immediately informed the client

that the move was much greater than the estimate and that the final price

would be increased greatly. The customer understood, agreed and signed all

the paperwork. Throughout the packing and move the foreman updated the

customer periodically and the customer continued to approve. At no time did

she disapprove.

The customer refers to other estimates by other moving companies as

evidence, but those other companies have never seen the furnishings and were

not involved in the move whatsoever. They were basing their quotes solely on

an inventory list which is what we based our quote on also.

The customer chose at the end of the move to give our crew a 20% tip,

and if she was dissatisfied then why would she give a tip at the high end of

the scale. Customers who are not happy do NOT thank the workers which such a

large tip. Additionally, not until days later did she express her complaint

and at that point told our dispatch that she was short of money and just

needed some time to put together the funds. She changed her plans from going

into storage to going directly into an apt.

The customer received the highest level of attention and

professionalism. Was appraised of the pricing throughout the move and

rewarded our crew with a very generous tip. Only days after the pickup and

realizing that her monies were short did she decide that she was unhappy.

She was charged properly and the job was completed without any additional

issues.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

Dear [redacted],

Thank you for taking the time to speak with me regarding the above referenced complaint. I very much appreciate you allowing me to respond despite the case closing this morning. That was very kind of you.

My concern with the response from Ace Moving and Storage is that it does not address the issues outlined in my original complaint. To further clarify this point, I am attaching the documents given to me by Ace Moving and Storage prior to the move and at the time of billing. Those documents are attached for your review.

I submit for your consideration that on the documents the inventory list is completely inaccurate and charges are not validated on the final binding estimate. For example, there is an unidentified charge of $1,000. The bill of lading also says that there were three sofas and a piano. There was only one sofa and no piano. The apartment in New York was only 560 sq ft so three sofas would be impossible. Their claim of 1400 cubic feet of contents cannot be accurate given it was only a 560 sq. ft apartment. I am also attaching the floor plan of the apartment so you can verify this claim. Removing the two sofas and the piano would significantly reduce the sq footage and hence the costs associated with move.

In the attached documents you will also see that there are competing quotes that were obtained from the FINAL inventory list and not the estimate as asserted in the response from Ace Moving and Storage. They also acknowledge receiving a deposit of $100 given to Ron but not credited in the final accounting and bill. The tip was also given under duress prior to the completion of the move in New York. It was suggested that the tip would “ensure safe arrival of my belonging”. There are also many charges on the final bill that are stated to be free of charge on their website. Those items were outlined in my original complaint. Please consider the facts outlined in my first complaint in addition to this information. At the very minimum the random $1,000 charge and $100 deposit should be refunded. We request a refund of $8,180 as outlined in our previous letter. The rationale for that amount was in the original letter.

If you review the final estimate and the attachments to this email, I believe you will agree that I have been treated unfairly. I look forward to a quick resolution to this matter.

All the best,

Response:

To whom it may concern,

This is hopefully the final time we have to answer the same questions

from the

customer. The $100 deposit was taken off the worksheet and was not double

paid. Without

the deposit the move would have been an additional $100. The customer

requested the purchase

of the moving pads because she was going into long term storage. After the

fact, she decided

to move directly into an apartment but that was post facto. We would not

have charged for the

blankets if she hadn't told us about the long term storage and her desire to

own them.

The customer CHOSE to pay the full amount upon pickup. Our terms are

normally 75% on pickup

and balance upon delivery in cash. She chose to pay the full amount upon

pickup to avoid the need

to pay cash balance in Florida.

Finally, the "professional estimators" who after the move state that she

didn't have more than

900 cubic feet, never saw the furniture or the boxes or participated in the

move whatsoever and are

just basing that amount on the inventory the customer presented to them.

From day 1, there has been absolutely NO reason for any type of refund

on this move. Only after

the customer decided that she was overextended did she put in a complaint.

The day of the move she

gave a generous tip to the crew and expressed her delight over the move. She

was delivered in a timely

manner and has no grounds for any reduction.

Thank you,

Review: On February [redacted], 2015, I was apart of a bait and switch scam with Ace Moving & Storage. I was quoted an amount of $1377.50 for a move from [redacted] to [redacted]. I was promised that the movers would on time at [redacted] at the premises. Needlessly to see, we did not see them until [redacted]. I confirmed all the information the day before, to no avail. Immediately upon arriving the Head Mover, [redacted], questioned my son about method of payment. Again something I had confirmed with Sales person, [redacted], the day before. Once the items were loaded and my son, who's home it was needed to leave for [redacted], to arrive before the movers, [redacted] proceeded to give me the song and dance about how it was going to be a little more than quoted. I realized at this time, I had been scammed. All the items were on the truck and of course nothing I can do now. My $1377.50 quote became $2624.00. He then had the audacity to demand a 15% tip, which I refused. He raised his voice and stood over me berating me about his working for free. My husband came into the room and he backed down. I signed my receipt and waiting in my car for the cleaning person, who had been there twice since they were supposed to be finished by [redacted]. They did not leave and them approached my car saying my [redacted] card had been declined, I am not quite sure what that move was supposed to accomplish, but once I called [redacted], it was of course a lie. He came back saying oh yes it was, I proceeded to call [redacted] again, to be told they saw the charge on my account without an issue. They he heard from his boss it went through, but he forgot to charge me tolls and was not moving the truck until he got an additional $200 in cash of course. I gave the cleaning woman's money to him, just to get them to move the truck. They arrived at [redacted] in [redacted]. My son had friends there and they finished in 1 hour. This was abuse of power and I need something done about their actions.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of some charge of 5% service fee that I have no idea what it represents. $665 is the amount.

B.B.B.We are in receipt of the complaint titled Order # [redacted], which isour job number. At the time of booking, an inventory for this movewas obtained and a price per hour was established @ $95 plus a 7% fuelsurcharge. We were told that all items would be boxes. Upon ariving, ourforeman saw that there were extra items and that some materials were neededto packup the additional items. The customer agreed and signed all of thecontracts andthe job started. The crew used $80 in materials and only charged for thetimeused. The trip down to [redacted] was 14 hours and the customer was chargedfor the return travel. The 5% that the customer is questioning was for thereturn travel time. The line below the travel time was the service charge. As far as tip is concerned, the standard in the industry is 15% but thecustomeris not obligated for any tip and the crew appreciated what was given. There was absolutely no bait and switch or any unsavory activity. Thecustomerwas charged at the agreed rate and only for the hours used. Additionally, the $665.00was for the travel time back from [redacted], therefore, the customer is notdue any reduction for the move.Thank You,Ace Moving and Storage

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[I am still confused. Please explain why the original estimate does not say anything about a return trip and if the company estimates 5.5 hours for the trip to [redacted], I am charged for them taking 14 hours? Why is the customer punished for the company's misrepresentation of their time for travel. There was information that was not provided at the time of the order for the work to be done. I didn't tell them the trip would take 5.5 hours, they told me. Also, how could they know it would take 14 hours in advance? They charged me before the trip was even started. There was unsavory behavior on the part of this company. I signed all papers, because they were holding my furniture hostage and I had no other choice, what I was going to do, have them put the items back? ]

Response:

B.B.B.The customer submits an additional inquire about the hours needed for the move. The original estimate weeks before the move was for 14.5 hours, the actual movewas 21 hours and that was the amount the customer was charged for. There aretwo reason for the increase, first off, their was the increase of inventory which takes longer to load and unload and there was packing necessary that took time.Lastly, when we originally booked this move we didn't even have an address in **.Once we received the address days before the move, the travel time increased to7 hours, not the original 5.5 hours. The customer was only charged for the time she used and the services provided. If the inventory would not have increased and if all items had been packed andready to go we would have been much closer to the original estimate, that is justan estimate based on the info given from the customer. We are always striving for customer satisfaction but at this time there is no reductionthat is due based on the time sheet from the move.Thank You,Ace Moving and Storage

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: On August [redacted], 2015, I contacted Ace Moving Plus with a request for a quote. I received an immediate estimate of $1,125 for the relocation of all of my belongings, which had been inventoried, from Hoboken, NJ, to Austin, TX. I confirmed the quote with Ronnie (Ace representative) several times through email.

I then agreed to go with Ace Moving Plus under the condition that if I made my belongings available for pick-up on the Tuesday morning of August [redacted], they would be delivered to my residence in Austin, TX, by the end of the month of August (August [redacted]). Ronnie agreed to those terms, so I officially committed go with Ace Moving Plus as my moving service.

On Monday, August [redacted], I received a call from Ace Moving Plus notifying me that the pick-up would be changed to the afternoon of the [redacted], as opposed to the morning. I was told that it would not affect my delivery date, as we had agreed. On August [redacted], the team arrived to load their truck at approximately 1:00 pm ET. As my belongings were being moved out of my apartment, the Ace Movers Plus representative told me that the total cost would be $1,784.00, $659 (more than 1/3) over the quoted price. With my job starting that coming Monday (August [redacted], 2015) and no time or means to find another moving company, I had the choice of either forfeiting my belongings or paying the excess cost.

On the evening of September [redacted], at approximately 9:00 pm CT, I was contacted by the furniture delivery service who explained that they could not fit their 18 wheeler into my apartment complex, and that I would have to pay a separate $250.00 to get my belongings delivered the following day. Ronnie said that I had been made aware of this, but when I asked for a signed copy of my acknowledgement of this potential extra cost, he could not provide me with one, and I was never given a copy along with all the disclosures and receipts that I had gone over prior to the move.

As the conditions originally agreed upon through the attached email dialogue were not honored, and the quoted price had been inflated at a time of the move, I am requesting a refund of $909.00. This restitution would return my total costs back to the original agreed upon quote of $1,125.00.Desired Settlement: As the conditions originally agreed upon through the attached email dialogue were not honored, and the quoted price had been inflated at a time of the move, I am requesting a refund of $909.00. This restitution would return my total costs back to the original agreed upon quote of $1,125.00. This does not include restitution for the clothing/bedding items I had to purchase for work and to sleep on while my belongings would take 12 days past due to arrive.

To Whom It May Concern: I am in receiptof the complaint for the customer, [redacted]. The customer states that “hereceived an immediate estimate” in the first line of his complaint. He isabsolutely correct he received an “estimate”. An estimate is exactly that, anestimate. We do our best to give as accurate a quote as possible on ourestimates but every job is unique. We did not raise the price per cubic foot orthe fuel surcharge rate. [redacted] signed all documents agreeing to bothbefore we began the move. In trucking wealways try to be on time for pickups and [redacted] states that he was calledthe day before for his confirmation and told that we would be there in theafternoon. He was picked up on the pickup date that was agreed upon at 1 p.m.The proper standards were used for this pickup and [redacted] was given hisconfirmation pickup phone call 24 hours before pickup as prescribed. As far asdelivery goes, [redacted]’s first date of delivery on his delivery form wasAugust [redacted]. We do our best to get the delivery to our customers asclose to this date without getting it there before that date. [redacted] wastold from the time the 18-wheeler leaves the NY/NJ area it is approximately 5-7business days for delivery. This is exactly what happened on this job. We canNEVER guarantee a delivery date because too many delays are inherent withintrucking. We stayed in contact with [redacted] and we delivered well within thetime frame that is authorized. This customerwas charged properly for his move, picked up on the date agreed upon andalthough slightly delayed on his desired pickup date, well within the standardsof the industry. There is absolutely NO reason for any reduction on this move. Sincerely, Ace Moving and Storage

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

I have in writing through an email exchange from the representative at Ace Moving Plus, in which he explains that as long as I could make my things available for pick-up on their requested date, my things would arrive by the [redacted]. It was contingent upon this that I chose Ace Moving Plus in the first place. With the understanding that my things would arrive in Austin on time, I traveled with minimal clothing. I had to purchase clothes for work, along with something to sleep on to get me through the next 13 days. This was completely unacceptable, especially considering there was no mention by Ronnie or anyone at Ace that they might not be able to get me my belongings in time.An estimate is exactly that, an estimate. It aims at being as accurate as possible, with a little room for flexibility. I understand the fluctuation in cost by even up to a couple of hundred dollars, but increasing the price by a full third of the initial quote, the same day of the move was extremely unprofessional. I had also eliminated a sofa from my inventoried items that were included on that initial $1,125 quote, so if anything, the price should have gone down. Having to start my job immediately upon my move, I had no choice but to pay the increased price to keep my belongings, as I had no other way to transport them to my new residence in Austin.Ace Moving Plus also claims I was aware of this "shuttle fee", should the 18-wheeler could not fit into my complex. I had been aware that it was an 18 wheeler transporting my belongings to Austin, but not that I would have to incur a full cost of $250 if that 18 wheeler could not fit into my complex. My initial understanding was that they transport everything to a port in Austin and deliver from there to my residence. Ace Moving had me sign all disclosures as I was handing all of my belongings over to them. I have no acknowledgement of this potential additional cost, and when I asked if they could provide me with a signed copy, they could not provide me with anything. My initial quote was $1,125. I ended up paying directly to Ace Moving Company $1,784 ($659 over the quoted price). With the addition of the shuttle, which I had not been made aware of, my total costs came out to $2,034. This is simply WRONG. Had the final price to Ace Moving been a couple of hundred dollars within the quote, I would not have an issue. Had I known about an additional $250 cost for a shuttle (which I found out the night of deliver), I would not have an issue. Had it not taken 2 weeks past the date they said they would deliver my belongings, I would not have an issue. I have paid nearly twice the original quote for a service that did not even try to work with me on even the slightest discount for arriving 2 WEEKS late. This is not the way to do business, and while Ace Moving Plus may not care for retaining my business in the future, I certainly hope Revdex.com cares about the service that their members provide. I have attached both the email chain between the rep and myself explaining that my things would be delivered by the end of the month, and original quoted price. I have all copies of signed documents from Ace Moving, none of which mentioned a potential $250 charge.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Unfortunately, we are well beyond the point of an apology. There had been no effort to alleviate my issues. In fact, when I called to explain my situation (i.e., no clothes, no bed), several days past the point that everything should have been delivered, I was told to "go buy new ones." Also, "we tell everyone" regarding the 18 wheeler extra cost is clearly not true, considering I was unaware. This will be escalated to small claims, which I sincerely do not want to deal with, but there has not even been an olive branch offering by Ace Moving so far. I paid 2 times the quoted cost and my things were delivered 2 weeks late. I have more than a leg to stand on here, so considering Ace Movers position, I have no choice but to bring on representation.

Review: On August **, 2015, I received an estimate from ACE Moving for the amount of nine hundred and ninety two dollars ($992.50) The estimate included a precise list of items to be moved from my residence in [redacted] to my house in [redacted] on Aug. **. When Mike, the ACE manager of the four-man team, arrived at my [redacted] house, he told me that the estimate was wrong and the cost would be $3,300-$3,500, $750 of which was packing materials. I was shocked at this triple price. I had already packed all my belongings in professional packing materials and boxes and could not fathom an additional $750 for wrapping six glass shelves and three pictures (one of which was damaged since the three pictures were put in one large box). I received two other firm estimates from different movers for the same job and they were $1,700 and $1,900. Most shocking and frightening was the fact that Mike bullied and threatened me. He told me that if I did not tip him, as well as his three workers, he would charge me even more. At this point I was afraid for my own personal safety. In addition, there was significant damage done to a wall corner where the metal underneath was actually dented (photo attached). A section of the wall has to be replaced and this is your responsibility. There was also damage inflicted on a section of the stairs which is very noticeable and will have to be repaired or replaced (photo attached). I am waiting for a piano specialist to come to the house as ACE damage to lid to my piano. Also, one of the pedals is jammed and needs to beDesired Settlement: I desire that ACE Moving reimburse me $1,757 which is the difference between what I paid $2,848.75 and the estimate +10% of $1,091.75. Plus an apology from ACE for the verbal abuse and threatening manner exhibited towards me.

The estimate was tripled before any work began. What about the law of only 10% over a quoted price? I did all the packing with exception of 3 pictures. I would not allow ACE to pack any of my belongings.I was threatened and verbally abused - where is the response to this? No one has the right to use scare tactics to get more money from a customer.I feel SCAMMED - ACE gives a lower dollar quote for the move then triples the price. [redacted]ID # [redacted]COMPLAINTANT: [redacted],: I am in receipt of the followup complaint for the customer, [redacted]Talafous. The customer states that the move was improperly charged Shequestions the “law of only 10% over a quoted price”. This does not apply fora move that there was no onsite done on. Additionally, even with an onsite, this move would have been priced out the same because she only paid for thetime she used plus fuel surcharge and materials. She states that she was verbally abused, we have spoken to our foremanand helpers and they state that this did not exist and that the move wasfine up until the customer was presented with the final bill. The customers’ price increased because the inventory increased and shewas properly charged for the time she needed for this move. We never changedthe agreed upon price per hour and she signed all contracts agreeing to thisrate before we ever began the job. Therefore, there is no reason for anyreduction of the pricing. .Sincerely,Ace Moving and Storage

Review: Company was hired to move belongings/property across country. Three estimates were given, along with a suggested gratuity of 15%. The bill started at $1,300.00. The Grand Total was approximately $2,500.00. The items were then DUMPED/THROWN into the storage unit upon delivery. Damages alone exceed $2,000.00. [redacted] has been notified, and Ace Movers (Eli Ben Baruch-proprietor, Ronnie Roth-salesman) have denied any wrong doing and have knowingly and deliberately provided FALSE information regarding correspondence and how they would compensate us for the damages and for hiring additional (local) movers to empty and reload the items from/back into the storage unit. Prior access was impossible! Additionally, a MULTITUDE of consumer complaints have been posted on [redacted] reflecting our exact experience! The claim with [redacted] is still pending/under investigation. Despite PERSISTENT and NUMEROUS calls and emails to the Company, we were NEVER contacted by their alleged "claims person", Robert Brown, nor are we in the LEAST bit satisfied with the present outcome! P.S.: Movers were specifically told to wrap antiques/glass/mirrors/fragile items/lamps etc., and NONE of the objects arrived WITHOUT DAMAGE, many of which are destroyed and/or irreplaceable.Desired Settlement: WE WANT TO BE FULLY REIMBURSED FOR SERVICES PLUS ADDITIONAL COSTS TO HIRE ADDITIONAL MOVERS!!!

We are in receipt of a complaint for [redacted], with a couple of issues. First off her items list increased significantly on the day of pickup and that is why the price increased. How they can claim to not be in breach of contract when they did not bring our items as promised, a month after they were to be brought by movers we get a call no trucks are available and they have to send it via freight. I paid for a move in full. They did not complete the move, they sent our things heavily damaged on three pallets which were dumped in front of our apartment building. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This company refuses to admit that it messed up this move. First I was never given the courtesy of them physically checking out the inventory to give a binding contract as they should by law, secondly the movers waited until everything was loaded to tell me how much more it actually would cost us, then they tell us there is a mandatory gratuity of 20%. That night they call me to say the guy made a 600$ miscalculation. I did not receive a refund later as they claim that amount was the same evening of our moving day. Then They say they don't have to keep their promises. We can transport your household goods anyway we want as long as they arrive? I hired this company because they had an A+ with the Revdex.com. This is my last response, do as you will because I'm tired. If I hire a moving company to pick up my stuff, carry it to my house, unload it and place it in my new house, and they assure me, via email, contract, phone calls, that it will be done but they don't do it. Then they should return some of the amount that was paid for them to do the job I paid them for that they did not do. It's the honest and decent way to do business. But these people have been neither honest or decent. Beware if you hire them. Get a written binding estimate and make sure your contract includes every word they promise or don't sign.

Review: My wife and I contacted Ace Moving and Storage for a quote for our move to Charlotte NC from NY. We dealt with [redacted] who came out to our home twice to give us a binding quote. At this time he made us aware of a $100 coupon we could use through the company's website. We gave the coupon info to our driver on the day of pickup of our belongings. At that point the $100 was deducted from our remaining balance. The response is a LIE. We have a receiptfrom the person that came out after [redacted] who gave us $100 off. He verbally toldus it was ok and the receipt demonstrate it as 100% proof.[redacted] seems to be a liar and scammer, $100 is not worth being reported to theRevdex.com. Him and his worker must have had a miscommunication and they didnt want topay for their mistake. They expect us to pay for it. We want our $100 backimmediately as it is the right thing to do as a business owner who made amistake through his employee. We also had the inconvenience of not being ableto get our stuff from the 3rd party mover until this was resolved. They steppedon our carpet with sneakers on and left stains, and left marks on our wallsfrom not being careful moving our belongings. The receipts attached demonstrate that the 1st balance was $1806 after our $100 deposit when [redacted] came but 2nd time. We made a 2nd payment when the initial movers came by to pick up. That 2nd payment left a remaining balance of $426 which included the $100 discount coupon [redacted] and the lead mover offered. When we were at the pick up address the Drop off movers DEMANDED $526. [redacted] at that point claimed that the $100 coupon was not valid and had to be removed and they couldnt offer it.
